A popular Japanese sushi place if you love sushi or Japanese food. You can eat in or take-out. Close to Amazon campus so it is mostly frequented by Amazon employees during lunch time. Easy to get to by public transport or shared ride. Temporary parking available as well.Serves as a store from where you can buy Japanese food and prepare at home by yourself. Expected a queue during peak hours - lunch time on weekdays.I enjoyed my lunch. Recommended.
Everything you need for the basics of Asian cuisine and more. Stop in for lunch and choose from an array of poke, sushi, sashimi and more. Its a quick pick up which is really good for people who dont have a lot of time. They also have plenty of things to create dinner or to just pick up some fresh seafood in a pinch. I love this place and its quick and down to basics approach to fast shopping.
Loved going here. I used to get lunch and snacks, I can’t wait until it reopens
Super convenient place to pick up a hot to-go meal! The quality of the poke is amazing, and they also have a wide variety of snacks and drinks. They have a pretty good freezer selection of frozen Asian food, and they also have a few essentials like milk and veggies.
Kai market pls open again i miss u
Ug! They’re closed due to the outbreak! When they open back up it’s a great place to grab poke. I’m sad I missed it this trip.
Quick and easy lunch, great sushi and poke bowls. The spicy mayo poke is amazing as well as the mango salmon poke. They also have a hot bar.
Very clean and well organized. The selection is very diverse with many freshly prepared options. I found the pricing to be very competitive as well.
I like sushi bowls they have. They put plenty of fish, have non-spicy options, and pretty big choose of sauces(or whatever they add to fish). Its quick place to eat if you are short in time. Everything is fresh and delicious. I wish that have had more toppings - like pineapple, avocado, and so on. They have 10th-bowl-free, if you collect their stamps. And theres great variety of Japanese food in the store - will definitely try it all.
I love their poke bowls! So many options for lunch. Never had a bad meal from them.
Lovely little market. Great service and very fresh seafood. Poke options good and many other Asian snacks. Small but decent selection of alcoholic beverages including sake. Plenty of non-alcoholic options
Yes! This is actually a stranger but super cool place where you can pick up all sorts of fresh Asian foods, even prepared in front of you. Do you have a favorite kind of red bean cake or mochi? Theyve got it! Feel like that inaccurate drink you found in sooner citys Chinatown years ago? Theyve got it! Want a nice spot to eat your fresh food and people watch your heart out? Thats here, too! We were pleasantly surprised. Confession: We just came in here to wash our hands after a hike, and we stayed for an hour!
Literally my favorite lunch spot in Seattle. For the price of a sandwich at another place you could get a poke bowl and a drink. Tasty, fresh seafood at accessible prices.
Quick even when full of Amazon employees at lunch. Great grab and go poke options. Lots of fun desserts and drinks if you feel like splurging on your lunch routine.
Super fresh and worth the money. Great selection of poke at a very reasonable price. Also has good Asian snacks, sushi rolls, sashimi, and various deserts. Very friendly and fast service. My go to place for lunch whenever I am in the area.
This is a super popular place in the area, so it gets REALLY busy. But it has really tasty fresh options, including a couple vegan sushi rolls and vegan sides to go. I hear the poke bowls are incredible, too.
Freshest, tastiest poke in the area, and probably my favorite poke in Seattle. However, there are three pretty major downsides. First of all, the poke is not cheap. I never seem to get out of Kai Market without paying $18. Second, the lines around lunch are so long that you can sometimes see people eating in line. Finally, if you arrive later than 12:30, expect the selection to be severely limited due to them selling out of all the most popular (best) options.
Very nice poke selection plus other healthy keto approved, stimulating selections.
Such a cute market, but very small with a limited selection. I love their poke bowls! They are very fresh and reasonably priced. Cant wait to try more of their seafood!
Positive: Fresh fish!Negatives: Fish seemed higher priced compared to the Westlake Whole Food fish prices. Expected friendlier customer service. Also expected more interesting product variety throughout the store.May go again if Im in a pinch for fresh fish.
The assortment is about what youd expect for a smaller grocery - odds and ends without enough to complete a full shopping trip, but enough to get you by. Pricing is expensive. The poke bar is tasty and not a bad deal at all for a quick dinner on-the-go. Nice to have them in the area.
Very expensive and a tiny selection. It feels like it was created solely to target Amazon employees making over 100K/yr in the area and even then I dont think the owners realize those same people arent interested in buying instant noodles for $3 a pack, or wine/fish/cheese (etc) for a premium when they have better Amazon owned stores and discounts elsewhere. Maybe its just a front or some side business they dont actually need to turn a profit on... Sorry Kai. Just being realistic. You need to revamp your selection and prices.
I love Kai Market. Its close to my apartment, so its easy to run down and grab some food. It all depends on when you get there, though. If youre there around noon, youll have lots of different musabi and stuff to choose from. I like that they have small packs of daikon. They have a limited selection of snacks, though. The best stuff to get from here is definitely fresh food like noodles and etc. Havent tried poke yet. Well see
Great spot for snacks and Poke. Portions are awesome, staff always friendly. Gyudon and roast pork is solid! The Hawaiian bbq rainbow poke was amazing today. Dont change it!
This is a mini version of Uwajimaya which has their own specials separate from Kai Market. And they are a cute little shop in the heart of Amazon. If you love Japanese food visit here if you cant make it to Uwajimaya down south.
So many good lunch options — grab and go, poke bowls built to order, sushi, and more. Enjoy!
Excelent place to grab a quick meal, they have sushi, poke, onigiris
Pretty great selection of Japanese food, and VERY reasonably priced. Plus with the stamp card, it really is a good deal to get food here.
This market is close to where I work (with children). We came here with a group of children to get some tasty treats (mochi!). They brought out some of the sea creatures for us to see (live crabs and lobster), it was very cool.
Beautiful layout in the store. I love the section for simple selection of the different Asian condiments. The only thing that was missing was the Sun Noodles from the frozen food section! I look forward to shopping here often.
Positive: The market is laid out nicely and the fresh seafood is beautifully displayed. Today I had the duck bowl and enjoyed every bite.Negative: I wish the salmon wasnt farm raised, organically or not, or Id have ordered that instead of the duck. Im sure its delicious but living in the Pacific Northwest I usually catch my fish instead of buying it. On the rare occasions I look to purchase it I wont if its from a farm. Thats entirely a personal reason and Im still sticking to my 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ rating!
The only Poke Ive had worth eating. Their is fresh and the dressings are perfect. A very wide variety of mixes and spice. If want good poke go here. If youve only had lame poke give this a shot. Most poke out there is awful. This is really good and fresh.
One of my favorite markets, lots of good stuff, tasty sushi:)
Kai market is the freshest fish in Seattle. There are only two poke spots that I eat at. FOB and Kau. You cant go wrong with either.
I love this store. Amazing Japanese convenience foodstore that serves actually decent poke! Having sampled the best of poke in Hawaii before, its been tough to find equivalents that can compare in Washington. Kais is not bad. Also love the selection of F&B they have in stock. They even potato chips and fried baja fish skins coated in salted egg yolk goodness (imported from Singapore)! The staff that work here are also very pleasant. Every person Ive interacted with have been friendly & knowledgeable about the wares.Bonus: One of the male staff looks like a bishonen character right out of a manga book! :)
Not your ordinary Asian market; Kai is focused on ready-to-eat foods, with a full poke bar starting at 11 AM each day and another grab/go section with all your seafood favorites. Check out the assortment of beverages too - I’ve never seen so many local brands represented for coffee, kombucha, tea and more! Such a smart format, hope they can expand into other areas of the city (like north Capitol Hill pls)
We got a chicken bao bun and a Japanese chicken bento box with brown rice, seaweed salad and kimchi. Huuuuge portion, it was our first time in and the staff was very helpful and let us try a few things. Well worth the $12.99 it could feed two people no problem! Will return to try the poke!
Nice market I just gone to get some 🍞 experience was good.
Such a great spot for fresh poke bowls (w loads of fish!!), sushi and hot foods. Black food bento also my fave
Great poke bowls. Good source of Asian food and drinks.
The term market is kind of misleading; its more of a glorified convenience store that contains a hella huge seafood counter. This place is more of a grab-and-go kind of deal, not a full fledge market.
Very fresh ahi tuna poke yummy 😋
Nice service and fresh seafood. Clean and spacious. Shop there more than three times a week.
Nice Asian market in the city. I wish it was a little bigger but other wise its great.
Great poke, with a multitude of options. One of my favorite spots.
Place is pretty good but nothing too special
Lots of options. Take out sushi and other healthy options. Small quantity of beautiful fresh vegatables. Lots of fresh fish. Lots of Asian ingredients on the shelves. Good service.
Fantastic poke. They have a bunch of different variations as youll see from the pictures. $12 for a plate of rice and two scoops of poke is a little expensive IMO but its great nonetheless.
A bit on the expensive side but the poke is excellent. Decent variety of lunch options and other goodies.
The best grab and go sushi / poke.
Great selection and right around the corner.
The poke I ate their was excellent poke. I know why that place stays full. However, the poke I had at Kia Market was the best around
Great spot to pick up Sashimi, Poke & fresh seafood for sushi in a random place in Southlake Union. Affiliated with Uwajamia grocery, its not as big as traditional Asian grocery stores but does a good job getting the essentials. Sake, beer, ramen, sauces and even authentic Asian deserts are scattered around the store in a clean and well kept environment..
Bao bao bao. Matcha kit Kat and wine who needs anything more!
Well organized and small but nice selections. Prices are very reasonable as well.
Good food, great selection, but incredibly rude people working there.
Great place w/ lots of Poke options - as well as other Japanese quick bites and snacks.
Nice helpful staff reasonably priced items and a good selection of bulk herbs.
Excellent food. Go for the squid salad - its secretly the best
Very confusing store concept. Fresh fish and shellfish and then the rest of the store is mainly grab n go pre-packaged foods or poké. Very few items(produce) available to buy along with beautiful fresh seafood.
Great place for Poke, also have good selection of asian food, fresh fish, and some hot items for bento boxes.
Fresh poke. Big portions
Great lunch spot their poke bowls and other options are great and they have a small eating space as well. Good quality fish and other product options.
Good food and some good deals if you are savvy enough to suss them out. Beware of high price-per-pound options but look for good deals on classic favorites like spring rolls and spam masubi.
Small store, but a good selection of Japanese and Vietnamese foods. Very very fresh fish selection.
Pretty good food, just long lines during weekdays lunch.
Super crowdy during weekday lunch time. Good bento and poke. Personal preference is the duck bento. Bad ventilation and the whole place smell fishy. The grocery price here is higher than other local grocery stores. Bentos are around $13 (Apr. 2019). Since this market is owned by Uwajimaya, it sells a lot of Japanese snacks and drinks. It also has a small insoor dinning area. They sell alcohol but no consuming alcohol indoor.
Even the longs line move very fast at lunch. Lots of great grab-n-go snacks.
Super fresh Japanese raw materials
Cool Asian grocery store. Great selection of sake
Always great for lunch. The tuna is better than the salmon.
A solid selection of (mostly Japanese) fairly priced foods and beverages.
The grab-and-go sushi and sashimi are great! When in a hurry, I grab some sashimi and an onigiri or two.The hot food is filling and comparably priced to other food options. Its faster than most of the food trucks and cafeterias in the area.
Good selection of Asian fare that can be hard to find outside of Uwajimaya. Ramen Fridays gives a tasty (not amazing but pretty good) lunch option for nearby workers.
The best / only sushirrito Ive ever had. A little pricey for pre-made but tasted fresh
The food and environment is good, just a bit pricey.
Tiny version of uwajimaya. Great deli section with lots of grab and go Japanese food.
They serve very good poke for lunch.
Neat little store with very helpful and nice workers there.
Poke bowl makes a great grab and go lunch option. Make sure to walk around to the back side of the sushi cooler to check out the desserts.
Fresh fare everyday! The Poke bowels are the best!
Order some shushi for our event, was so surprised when I saw the tray, so beautiful, and everyone love the shushi, defenetly updated my event level.
This place is in the bottom of my work building and I go here for sushi! Love how convenient it is
If you like seafood you need to come here.
This place is gold! Im obsessed! Fish so fresh, price on the high end, but totally worth it. IM OBSESSED
Good food, friendly people and wide variety of offerings
Tried the food here for lunch. Did not like it. Market was good.
Best poke bar in the SLU area with great variety and generous portions.
Cost is awesome, musabi was great almost true Hawaiian grade
They have good seafood and poke bowls.
Good selection of snacks and cooking sauces. I am looking forward to a greater variety of noodles.
Its attached to my building, fresh food, and convenient. Dont expect Uwajis, but if youre in the area and want some lunch its a good option.
Poke bowls are $13 with tax. Would not recommend getting the greens -- kinda unwieldy in the bowls
It is ok, but expect SLU prices when you come here. Mind you, they do carry saki, which can make it worth the trip.
