Absolutely fantastic. Have used Lighten Up Seattle twice. Once to repair a broken lamp and this time to wire, add hardware, chain, and ceiling cap to a glass shade we bought. The work is incredible, i cant recommend enough!

Tim is fantastic! We brought in an antique gas lamp and he reworked a lamppost to fit. He works quickly and the price was incredibly reasonable. We also picked up one of his lamps from the store - an antique teapot that had been converted. It looks amazing in my wifes craft room.

The owner of this shop has in depth knowledge of lamp fixtures and was extremely helpful with a chandelier that I was rebuilding. This is one of the only places in Seattle that will sell you individual lamp parts for your DIY project.

Tim did a wonderful job on my lamps. I brought four 100 hundred year old lamps to him and he made sure they remained “safe to use”. Also, in light (no pun intended) of everything going on right now with city wide closures, he expedited the work. I can’t say enough about this shop. I will have my lamps with me in all their splendor as I work at home over the next few weeks. Awesome place!

Never would I visit this store again. Absolutely the rudest person I have ever encountered. The man (using this term loosely) insulted me, called meCheap, and was very rude. His pricing shocked me- as he wants his valuable time paid for (his words) but I was willing to pay- until he insulted me. He really needs to hire someone to handle the customers and stay in the back room working on lamps. I was later referred to another shop about 5 miles away and was very happy with their customer service and pricing. Huge difference from this horrible experience.

Excellent service. Friendly and helpful owner. He quickly took care of my lamp repair work, when another lighting store in Greenwood (Luxe Lighting) told me it would be a 3 week wait for their services. And a pretty awesome little dog too.

Lighten Up is a cute, clean store front in Ballard. Timothy was fast, I brought my vintage tabletop lamp in on a Saturday afternoon, and he fixed it within hours. I had to control myself from buying other lamps for sale in his shop.Thank you Tim, my lamp is back to life with more years of use in its future.

This is a great little lamp repair shop. Old fashioned, personal, and professional. Timothy fixed my little table lamp while I walked over to Ballard Market.

Lighten Up Seattle did a bang up job restoring my 8 arm Spanish chandelier that I had picked up in really poor shape. The finish was spotty and oxidized from a previous owner trying to clean it, and honestly I didnt know if it could actually be properly restored or not. The sockets were in poor shape and falling apart, the candle covers were yellowed and burnt, and the wiring was a rotten mess. Mr. Preg at Lighten Up TRANSFORMED my chandelier from a hot smelly mess to the lustrous beauty it is now. Not only was the restoration done with an attention to detail and a passion for the craft, it was completed on time and under the estimated cost. I would definitely recommend them to others and I will be sure to visit again.
