What a fun store! Not accessible if you are on wheels, I had to climb down the staircase to get in. Once in it was super fun looking at everything. I read previous reviews and decided to take a chance and bought a mystery box. Woohoo!!! Bones, teeth, a horn, a gator paw keychain and other fun bits. If you go get one. Well worth the risk!

Such a great collection of oddities every time I come here. I live out of town now but every time I visit Seattle this is a place I have to stop in!And not only is this place excellently curated, but everything is also very fairly priced, which can be hard to find for curio/antique shops… especially in Seattle!I bought a ton of vintage/antique magazines, encyclopedias, and children’s books for drawing references and they found me a box with handles so I could comfortably carry the stack of books out.Lookin forward to my next trip out to Seattle, thanks y’all.

I found this place by pure luck as I was having lunch near by. I have a knack for finding strange things and this place did not disappoint. As you enter Ballyhoo Curiosity Shop you will be greeted by a flight of stairs down to the shop. It really gave it an extra distinctive feel to the place! Once you make it down, youll notice how small the area is. But it definitely makes up for it in the eclectic assortment of oddities!

I am so glad this store exists. I just bought a very unique item I wouldnt have been able to find anywhere else. Arguably the best store in Ballard if not Seattle. ALWAYS something interesting and new to explore, and the owner Ryan is super knowledgeable and passionate about his industry. This is the one store in Ballard you cannot skip.

If I could live here, I totally would. This is hands down one of my FAVORITE stores to go to. Anytime I want to go on a shopping spree, this is the FIRST place I go to! I love getting my crystals here and my husband LOVES their mystery boxes. All of their prices are incredibly reasonable and the staff is always so nice and show amazing customer service. There just isnt a store like Ballyhoo! :)

Not for faint of heart, unless you’re looking for a new heart. Like a preserved snake heart from 1940. You can obliterate the bland of piece of Costco furniture with any of their odd accents. If you can’t decide, I highly recommend the mystery bags. I received several great little items I didn’t see in the store. Sadly, there’s no Curse Purge Plus nearby, so some items may remain mildly haunted but I’m told the radiation levels are safe.

Best curiosity shop in town. Great selection of actual oddities and curiosities. They have real human remains that are pretty awesome, animal ramains that are accurately labeled, some cool old random stuff that just have a slightly iddball vibe about them and some great prints from local artists. This is a great place to go shopping for your weird friends or take that goth girl on a first date.

I love this place! If you like oddities and arent bothered by taxidermy, then you should make a visit. I bought my father a white mouse playing a set of drums. All encased in glass. Lovely Christmas present for those who have everything. They also have vintage rings, alligator teeth, odd bottle openers and all kinds of vintage items. You can get a jackalope or a mounted raccoon butt.

It is 2/29/20 and 3:45pm as I leave this review. First off there was a sign that said they were out to get a new marker, and theyd be back at 4:00. The door was unlocked so we walked in and asked if they were open. The guy working said not really, and that he was just trying to get people to leave so he could leave. He blamed it on the owner, saying the owner wont hire more than 1 person, and said he shouldnt have to work there from 11-9. Super lame. We drove up from Oregon. So of course, no money was spent since we were not welcome.
