Absolutely perfect job! Empire was very easy and pleasant to work with in every way. They were conveniently available (next day service while other companies said it would be a month or more before they could replace my ancient and totally failed opener). They showed up the cay after I called them at exactly the scheduled time and did and their installers did a totally professional, expert and excellent job in a polite and friendly way. I was delighted with them and the results and can truly recommend them without reservation. Their office staff is also a joy to work with on the telephone.

I stopped into the office of Empire about 15 minutes before close, looking for a new garage door opener. I expected to be met with resentment, but the women in the office were extremely welcoming! They took time to describe the openers they had and showed me models as we talked about the features I was looking for. Once we settled on the model, I was able to schedule an install for the next week. They sent me a confirmation email for the appointment, as well as a text. I also received a call when the install tech was on his way. He arrived during the window given and was very professional. He took time to describe how to use the new opener once it was installed. We used the app associated with it, and while on vacation discovered that it had inadvertently been paired with our neighbors remote. I called Empire and they sent someone out to reprogram the next day. I am extremely happy with the service at Empire, from the office staff to the installer. They are completely customer focused. Have a old detached garage that is in no way straight or plum and was worried about how well a new door would even be installed. Todd came and gave me a price on a new door with disposal of the old door included and was even able to re-use my existing opener. It was also nice that they didn’t try and up sell me and was able to complete the job without me being home. Very pleased

One of the springs that helped open my heavy garage door had snapped late on a Friday. Thankfully Empire was able to schedule a technician for the next Monday to make the repairs ASAP. The fix was done quickly, and he give me a run through of the whole system to make sure there were no additional issues. Empire Overhead Door had installed a new garage door opener over a year ago and I ran into problems with the door automatically closing. Being reluctant to mess with the censors, I called Empire for a service appointment and Vanessa stopped by and adjusted the censors quickly. I am shocked by the positive reviews. They were the reason we chose empire doors. Plus they’re a family owned business so I thought that would be the best to support. We are building a brand new house and they were the slowest, hardest to get a hold of and absolute worst experience out of all of the contractors we worked with. Not only do they take their sweet time to do ANYTHING but they literally never answer their phone especially when there’s a problem to deal with. We finally got a hold of Vanessa (wife owner) and we were so mad she said she wouldn’t speak on the phone with us because of harassment!!!!!! This is after ignoring us for weeks!!! Todd basically hides because he’s too afraid to handle issues that need his attention. They are liars as well when we finally had enough we went above them and contacted their supplier directly we caught them in several lies. The big issue here was that they ordered the wrong size door for the lift that we put in. And they did everything including lie and white out dates to keep us thinking what we wanted (and was originally promised/quoted) was impossible to accomplish. Thank you to their direct supplier (CHI) who confirmed our suspicions and sold us the doors we should have received originally. We finally took our money to another company who sells with the same supplier. Do yourself a favor and don’t go here if you have anything complicated because if they mess it up they’ll ignore all phone calls and lie about the whole thing. They are rarely open and literally tried to weasel their way out of this. So disappointed with the service and professionalism. Todd couldn’t even show up when they pulled their wrong doors out - he sent a couple of kids!!!! Adirondack overhead doors were excellent.

The torsion spring on one of our doors snapped this weekend. Called Empire Monday AM and by 2pm we were all fixed. Todd came over and measured the spring. He had to make a quick run to get the right size as ours is apparently a bit unusual in size. He was back in no time and quickly and pleasantly set about repairing the door. Rapid, reasonably priced and friendly. Couldnt ask for more. Ill us again if and when its needed.

They were able to accommodate the unusual configuration of my very low garage height, and also to allow for an opening that was out of plumb due to the age of my home.Even better, they beat the quote I had received from a competitor, with a higher quality door. I was looking online for garage door torsion springs, I found them on online, after I read the reviews I decided to get them from Empire Overhead Doors, the part price is fair, even cheaper than other dealers, the guy in the store was so nice, he gave me some tips and he made sure that I can install them properly, I highly recommend.

I was thoroughly pleased with the service I received. Because the repair was minor and only took a few minutes to be fixed; Todd took the time to check the other garage door and to lubricate both doors since I was already going to pay for a service call. I was also pleased that they were able to come within a few days of calling for an appointment, gave me a reminder call the day before the appointment, the window for the appointment was a mere 2 hours (as compared to others of 3 or 4 hours) and Todd was right on time.

7/11/2017- I had a problem with my garage door. It wasnt landing level on the floor. There was a gap for about 5ft of the length. I called Empire and got an appointment within a few days. Todd arrived on time and assessed the situation with my door. I thought there an adjustment in the control unit, but was wrong. My garage floor had settled causing the gap. Todd did his magic with a little of this and a little of that and readjusted the door so it would land as close to the floor as possible. It looks perfect now. Im a very satisfied customer. The price was very reasonable and was less than I had thought. Todd was very polite and professional and explained everything that he did. I will surely recommend Empire to all my friends and family. Im a happy customer.

Definitely would not recommend this company. Took forever to deliver my door and blamed Lowe’s. Pella and Lowe’s both said the company was at fault for late delivery. Very disappointed! Better off using koops or another door company. They would not deliver door until it fit nicely into their schedule. 0 customer service.

We have never had a more professional, competent, and genuinely honest person provide us a service as Todd from Empire Overhead Doors. Approximately 9 months ago our garage door opener stopped working and we called the company that installed it about 10 years ago. After an hour assessing the problem the technician concluded that it could not be fixed and quoted us a price of almost $500 to replace the garage door opener. We were appalled at the price and opted to manually operate the garage door instead. Then, our neighbor referred us to Todd and he came over one day after we called him. To our amazement, within 10 minutes, maybe less, Todd had our broken garage door opener working again, without even taking out a tool. He simply realigned the safety sensor and the opener worked immediately. Imagine if we had believed the other company, we would have incurred an unnecessary expense. We cannot thank Todd enough. Our garage door was damaged by our car last summer. The first service call from Empire Overhead Doors was superb, and they fixed the door in a timely fashion so that it’s able to last for a few more months before the door eventually gave away. It’s replaced this January (2017), and we’d say the service was almost 5-star expect that they “forgot” to ask us to check/verify their work before we signed the paper work and handed them the second check (the first check is deposit). After they left, we immediately noticed that the door was shaking/jerking to some extent when closing, though it’s fine when opening. This was kind of strange because we didn’t notice obvious vibration for our old garage door prior to the car damage. Our kids also mentioned this to us when they came back from school. Well, we thought that this was a brand new door and it might take some time for the “symptom” to go away as it smoothed out itself. It didn’t, so after couple months, we called them back to check – the response was prompt. The person said this level of vibration was totally normal due to the weight of garage door and how it adjusted itself, and that’s also why the rails/frames were made out of heavy duty steel. I pointed out a bended tab on the garage door opener trolley and wondered if that might be the cause. He said that shouldn’t matter. He was right – after he hammered the tab straight, the door still shook and jerked as before when it’s closed. He also lubed the hinges and torsion spring, and the symptom still remained. I was convinced then it’s “normal” and was charged a regular service fee even though I’d consider it’s a follow-up check. I’d in fact do the same thing on the day they replaced our garage door if they allowed us to check their work prior to taking our check. I’d say their follow-up service is three-star. Since then (this March), I have started to pay attention to how other people’s garage doors open and close – the chances are few – who would do that? By the way, I do have couple opportunities, and their old garage doors do NOT shake and jerk like our brand new one does. Therefore, I think the quality of their work is “average” thus far. That’s why I give them a three-star overall, for now.

I had garage door problems back in November. I called Empire and within a few days they came out to check my door. A new door was needed, and they scheduled me 2 weeks out. Then I got a call the next day asking if I could move the appointment UP a week. That says a lot - they had an opening, they would have the door in time, and they proactively called ME to get my door installed earlier than I expected. They said theyd be there between 8 and 9 on the day of installation - installer was knocking on my door at 8:15. BIG PLUS in my book - they show up when they say they will. Quality of install and door is amazing. I would DEFINITELY recommend them for any garage door needs and will be using them again should I need anything more done with my garage door.

I had Empire come out to give a free estimate on door replacement. They were there the same day and worked around my schedule. The gentleman that came out was courteous and thoroughly explained the doors he offered. I had chosen a door that was not in stock so it took 2 weeks for it but was able to schedule my install ahead of time so I could plan a day off from work.
