The manager is the one of kindest people I have ever met. When I was traveling to South Portland, my car had very sharp scratch noise. He got technician diagnosed the problem and quickly fix it. He didnt want to charge me because of the problem was minor. His kindness made my trip much easier

Manager was rude!!!!I was visiting from out of town and realized the tire pressure was low on the rental car. I stopped at Meinke for air. After waiting in an empty lobby for almost 10 minutes, a regular customer arrived. He was greeted and helped immediately. When I was finally recognized and asked for air, I was told it would be a 30 minute wait and it was suggested I visit the VIP Tire around the corner because he could guarantee they had no customer.Even if I had been offered services, I would have declined. I did visit VIP Tire and although they did have plenty of customers, they quickly aired up my tire and got me on my way.

Very helpful. Last year I had a Y-pipe replaced at reasonable price. Today they removed a loose extraneous clamp that was rattling. Very pleased with their service.

On 2/19/21 I brought my truck here for a transmission flush and service was referred by a good friend said they were great. So brought the truck in thought everything was fine until I picked it up now iv been a tow truck operator for 12 years iv spent some time under vehicles I immediately noticed the transmission pan Hadn’t been dropped or touched so when I asked the service manager he stated it didn’t need to be for the service I had gotten. After a few phone calls to chevy they stated that the filter should be changed but the service manager stated it didn’t need to be so all and all I paid for a 280.00 service and they did it wrong and after a back and forth conversation they said bring it back Monday we’ll redo the service free I would never trust these people to touch your car I will be making a complaint with there head quarters and bbb please people bring your vehicles some where else this place is very shady and the people are rude the manager lied right to my face and why would you have to redo the service if you did it right the first time please please please stay away

Very professional, needed brake pads, rotors and calipers, when they called with the estimate they were honest and there quote was accurate. Rather pay once for a professional to do it correctly.

I originally went in thinking I needed new brakes, however they informed me that I didn’t need brakes yet! Since I’m pretty oblivious about cars, I really appreciated their honesty! They showed me that my engine and cabin filters were needing to be replaced, so we did that. Tim was so friendly and informative. I will be returning for future issues, and when I do really need breaks.I would highly recommend the Scarborough Meineke!

I had an appointment.. They had my car for the whole day and did nothing.

Last February, I brought my car in for what I thought might be a minor tire repair. However, the business told me I needed almost $2800.00 of work. I asked their personnel about rust on the undercarriage; if rust was an issue, it was time to look for a new car. I was told the rust wasnt extensive and that with repairs, my car should be running well for a long time.In August, I returned and the car failed inspection: rust and another $1,600.00 of repairs needed. The manager told me that one of the mechanics remembered the car and had stated that it was a job that should have never been done. I took the car to two other mechanics, one of whom told me I had been taken advantage of; the rust was so severe, it would been noticeable long before February. The owners only response was to offer a discount for future work.If you take your car here, make sure to get a second opinion because you may be sold parts and services that are inappropriate.

Amazing employees great prices and quality service

I have a Hyundai and used to take it to the dealership for service until they quoted me $385 to replace only the front brake pads. In looking elsewhere for a more reasonable price, I booked an appointment at this Meineke because they had a coupon for brake pads. Come to find out, all of my brake pads and rotors needed replacing, costing a pretty penny. Kevin was awesome with answering my questions, providing service advice, and even found me a better coupon to help with the cost. Thankful these guys were able to get my car running safely with top notch customer service!

Tim, Keith, and the Scarborough Meineke shop fixed the air conditioning that was blowing hot in my Audi. They did a computer analysis of my “check engine” light. Yesterday I went to my local Meineke for an oil change. With my car up on the lift they could see the oil plug was in bad shape and likely stripped. They informed me of this before going forward and also determined this is a common problem for my model. They had a solution that they said would add just 30 minutes to my stay. When the mechanic was done, he asked me to come into the garage to see what was done before he brought the car down. His fix was tidy and effective. He said I could leave it or, as I liked, get a new standard plug--perfect solution. In passing I mentioned now that my car was warm in their garage Id quick put my new stickers on my plates. The mechanic didnt miss a beat and asked if I had them with me. I told him they were in the front seat and he said, no problem, Ill put them on for you. I do appreciate extra great service and an accurate plan for my wait time. All in all, a very pleasant and satisfying experience.

They charged my 72 year old wife $54.75 to install a battery that she purchased from them. It was a rip off...taking advantage of a woman. Id never recommend them for anything. No place in our area charges that much...most do it for free.

Quick, simple and easy. I love it when people know what they are doing, and they just do it. You need a service, and they provide. I had them take a look at my car, got an estimate in an hour, and everything was done the same day. Really friendly customer service.

Best time Ive ever had getting my car fixed. Tasha is knowledgeable and friendly. Vincent is professional and courteous. They took great care of my car, adding extra touches like filling the fluids, and I had a very pleasant wait with tea and conversation. The price was great too.

Came in for a parking brake fix, and oil change as I was overdue. Keith mentioned my inspection was expiring, which is why I wanted the parking brake fixed. I asked what he thought of the wear on tires. He came back and said they would pass but recommended new tires, but did not push it. Also Tasha said the battery cranking power was low but I said I had not had any starting problems. She asked how I drove the car and recommended going on a road trip to give the battery a chance to get a nice full charge. She said to keep an eye on the battery, didn’t push it. I left feeling I got good honest service at a reasonable price.

The Meineke Car Care in Scarborough ME helped us out of a tough situation. We were visiting ME and our car started to make a very loud noise when we drove it on the highway. We called on a Wednesday and they took us on Thursday AM. Car was diagnosed with a bad wheel bearing . It was fixed 2 hours later. The fee was reasonable and the employees were very polite and courteous.

Went in for an oil change and have my brakes checked wound up getting 2 brakes And rotors and the car feels great now thank you guys you did a great job!And did I mention how friendly everyone was ;-) totally entertaining was not a boring wait. Swapped to Meineke from another auto service center and have had nothing but great service. Tasha and the mechanics have always been upfront and honest with information when working on my truck and make sure its gets the work it needs to keep it running and out of the shop which keeps money in my pocket. Unless the shop closes down I cant see myself bringing my truck anywheres else unless they say it needs work they somehow cant perform. I have recommended Meineke to my coworkers and will continue to do so.

Very nice and helpful staff! They make sure you understand everything they are doing to your vehicle and let you decide before they actually do it. The vehicle was also ready 20 minutes prior to when they said it would be! They are very convenient.

Great people, great place, love how active and fast they are on the job, and they don’t waste your time trying to sell you something you don’t need like everyone else in the state. If you haven’t picked somewhere then there’s no other place to go for your car needs.

I love this place in Scarborough. Last year I went for an inspection and they were able to get me in and I needed very minor things done and they fixed and inspected my car right away. This year I had to do front brakes for the 1st time to pass and they were able to get everything in 1 visit done. Now, they are doing my kids cars. Tasha is awesome and the mechanics do a great job.

I made an appt to have my brakes checked & tires rotated. I was pleased to learn that my brakes were just fine. My brake pedal seemed soft; so, they flushed the brake fluid. That solved the problem!The oil proved to be very dark. I had an oil change just to be sure things were ready for the winter.Staff & office manager were friendly and knowledgeable ! I will go back!

I usually dont have an amazing experience when getting an oil change, but Tasha and the staff were wonderful. The service was completed in great time and under budget. If youre looking for a friendly and stress-free experience then I cannot recommend this location enough.

I could not be happier with the service work that the Scarborough Meineke did on one of our fleet vehicles . It’s a bigger truck so they had to make special arrangements to install the new muffler and Radiator. The people are polite, professional, and very reasonable with good communication. Air filter was checked and left just sitting on top of the engine. Drove a couple hundred miles with no filter before I opened the hood for something else and noticed it had been left like that. Even a bad mechanic knows better.

I gotta say, Im pretty disappointed. I almost never leave bad reviews, I dont believe theyre necessary, but in this case...First off, the woman on the phone (whose name escapes me) was wonderful, communicative, sympathetic, and exceedingly diplomatic. This review does not concern her.To make a long story very short, I was overcharged for a part and labor. From then on, it was a seemingly endless stream of bad luck for the shop. I dont blame them for the bad luck, and the work done well, but I am extremely dissatisfied with what Ill call the post-op.Long story short, there was a new noise in my car after I got it back. This is not what anyone wants. I immediately went back to the shop, and explained my concern. The mechanic that met with me seemed combative, mildly rude, and frankly seemed somewhat green. I was informed by this mechanic several times that the noise was normal. It was anything but.As my story is becoming longer, Ill end here. My local mechanic diagnosed the problem immediately, and fixed it within 20 minutes. I was quoted an hour+ by Meineke. I was also never told directly that Meineke would perform the post-op for free, despite the end result being a lack of effort and care on their part.I used to be a loyal Meineke customer back home in NH, and am very disappointed that this experience has made me unwilling to return to this, or any other Meineke.

This is a fantastic shop and I could not recommend more! My family and I were on a weekend get away in Portland when I started experiencing brake issues. Knowing that the situation was likely unsafe to drive, I called up Meineke and was immediately connected with the friendly and understanding manager. She made it a priority to fit me in, day of to help me and my family get moving. When it turned out that there were deeper issues than we thought, she fought to arm me with all of the information necessary to get the issue covered under the Mazda warranty. Although, I likely won’t be back to this location due to living in a different state, I highly recommend them as an honest shop who puts the customer first!

Just had my car serviced. I have been coming here for the last few years and have been very happy. Started coming here when i went somewhere and they told me i needed over 1,000 in repairs turns out wasnt the case. They were honest and trustworthy. Very happy with my service. Disappointed the inspection was incomplete/ my car had a dash light on thats been the situation for past 10 years plus and it failed because of this. Meinke in Scarborough for the last 3 years passed the inspection/this year they failed the vehicle. New personnel in charge. Inconsistent philosophy/I will not go back.Thanks,

Limped my old van into this place after I thought the breaks would fail. I picked it because we are new here and I knew they did breaks. Tasha at the front desk took great care of us. Kept me well informed of costs, repair times, and arranged a thrifty rental for us. I will bring my car back there for the wonderful service all around. It seems truly like a shop you can trust and a shop that takes pride in good, honest work.

I wanted to get a level kit installed onto my truck and I tried calling a ton of different places, no other shop that I called in the area would even install a level kit! Called these guys and they said they could do it no problem, I called them on a Friday and they got me in that Tuesday! Very quick unlike everywhere else I called that was at least 2-3 weeks out on work, not 2-3 days! When they began installing my level kit they noticed that my front springs were both cracked and broken and they immediately called me to inform me and figure out what It would need for parts and gave me pricing right then over the phone. Had them replace the entire strut on both sides and install the level kit. They called me at 9am to tell me about my springs being broken, they called me again at 2pm saying that it was all back together ready to be picked up with the new parts and level! Very happy with how quickly these guys are and with the work they did!

Not Covid safe! The guy at the counter seems to have issues wearing a mask, keeping it over his nose, and told us if we didnt like it wr could wait outside. Took our business elsewhere.

I called to make an appointment and they had me drop off the vehicle that day. Looked at the issur I reported, called to let me know what they found, I gave the go ahead and it was completed quickly.

I had a scheduled appointment. Everyone was helpful. No high pressure add on sales.It did take an hour to do the oil change.

These folks are fair and honest which is exactly what you look for in a repair facility. They are not always the cheapest but do all they can to help you save a buck as well as make sure your car will be safe when you leave.

Had my rear brakes done here in July of 2016 only to find today that the brakes and rotors that were supposedly brand new have already worn down completely from highway driving faster than the front ones which were older. Calipers were lubed seals were not replaced which left them susceptible to the elements. This caused them to stick and prematurely wear my pads and rotors . Go elsewhere for service with techs that are actually thorough with their work.
