I wish I could give The Grey Market 6 stars out of 5. Exceeded my expectations. Went here every day during my trip to Savannah. The inside resembles an old-fashioned diner and is really well decorated. Additionally, there are a lot of things to purchase from hats, shirts, cookbooks, to jarred pickles, etc. For lunch I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and boy was it delicious! For breakfast I got the Biscuit Sandwich and a Bloody Mary. Best biscuit I’ve ever had… yum. Their sister restaurant, The Grey, is also an option for a nice dinner but you’ll need to get reservations ahead of time.

Café vibes with high quality dishes that are full of flavor. We each had a burger with potato wedges. The burger was perfectly cooked with thick cut bacon as my only add on. One patty was enough for me but two is an option if youre interested in a food coma 😴.The potatoes were unique! The wedges were crisped to perfection on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dusted generously with nutritional yeast. It was paired with a special sauce that we used for dipping. You cant beat it for the price and this sister restaurant to The Gray keeps delicious food accessible to all.Bonus points for having a black chef running the menu. ☺

This is an the more casual and neighborhood focused of the two restaurants. The Grey, a couple of blocks away is the pricier dinner restaurant.Open at 9, they serve coffee and baked goods in the morning, along with some breakfast items. Lunch and are dinner served until 7 pm. I had the fish and grits along with asparagus for lunch. For dinner I had the market burger. It has to be one of the best burgers Ive had. They bake their own brioche buns, grind their own hamburger patties using brisket, they also make a great come back sauce and the onions were perfectly carmelized. There service was fantastic. Oh and there are to go items or groceries to take home with you. This is a must stop if your visiting Savannah.

Imagine getting your favorite dish served to you on a trash can lid, thats what its like to get great food with surly service. It is not clearly noted they do not take cash but the lady running the front counter will be disrespectful in refusing it.... except for the tip jar smh

Food was amazing. The chef/owner was our server and wasnt much in the mood for special requests, which was mostly fine. One person in our party was vegan and asking questions about possible vegan options was not really a thing. There was one vegan designated option that was quite a nice meal of beans and vegetables. The chicken sandwich is a cant lose situation!

Beautiful breathtaking rooftop view. We had the bar food on the rooftop. Was good but small amounts. Drinks were as much as a meal. Our bill was quite high for so little. They do have a larger restaurant below that we didnt try so rating could go either way. The food and drinks were a five the prices and amounts gave it a 4.

The Grey Market was a great experience for lunch on a Sunday. We ordered the fried chicken special to go, and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It had the right amount of salt and spices to blend together with a great crisp. The chicken is only offered on Sunday until they sellout, so make sure to try it if you are in town.

Pretty good (though overpriced) food, but the energy felt really off, especially due to one server. It felt like we were crashing someones party by choosing to dine here? I kept checking to see if they were closing and we were in the wrong because the service felt short and rude and they were out of most of their dishes (including iced tea, somehow?), but it was 3:50pm on a Sunday. I just felt kind of bummed after. Probably wont be returning.

I was so head over heels for The Grey I had to give The Grey Market a try. It did not disappoint. I had the roast beef melt (I asked for some type of mustard that was homemade and they found me some pickled mustard seeds so theres that great customer service). How did they manage to fry potato wedges and still make them light? I have no idea but TGM does that. How did they make me fall in love with grits even though Ive hated them since childhood? Again not sure but those cheesy grits gave me life. Im so glad I got try both restaurants. Well worth it.

Don’t miss this brunch. The seating is limited, but the food is excellent. They usually have a special which has been delicious both times I have tried it, but the classic dishes are great as well. The Lower East is my favorite, but be warned, it’s VERY filling! The market is also more than just a restaurant, there are coolers with food and drinks Togo. Fresh made bread, pastries and local trinkets, gifts and books. If you’re lucky, the store may also have fresh flower bouquets. I’m not over exaggerating when I say this place is a hidden gem in downtown savannah

I gave this place two stars because it was very quaint and service was prompt but the food was such a disappointment. I got the corned beef hash which I was really looking forward to but it was borderline burned. It was also extremely salty! My friend got the blue plate. The bacon wasn’t edible because it was so over cooked. So disappointed! I definitely threw $18 away. However, the orange juice was amazing!

Im sure this is a very fine restaurant to visit in person. Ive heard many exceptional things about it, but a visit didnt seem anywhere in sight due to Coronavirus. I ordered the biscuits via Goldbelly. There was no opportunity for me to leave an uncensored review there, so I am reviewing here. They were good, as in what you can get at many quality Southern restaurants or make yourself. They were nowhere near worth the premium price paid via Goldbelly.

I found this restaurant online a year or so ago. I was researching a trip to Savannah and happened upon their website. I think I must have accidentally signed up or something because I would get email notices from the restaurant. Anyway, during my recent trip I happened to see their restaurant near Broughton Street and was so thrilled because now I would get a chance to sample their menu. Sounded so good in writing...now I could see if it measured up. I came in a friendly lady greeted me and took me to a seat. Thankfully they were closely observing social distancing. I wasn’t very adventurous... and order a cheeseburger and wedges but it was delicious. I couldn’t help however noticing the fish and grits another customer ordered. I thought if I am able to come back I am definitely checking that out. Well as it happened I had a poor experience at another restaurant so I promptly left and came back to The Grey Market and tried the fish and grits. OMG so good. I even took a picture before I dug in just to remember. I would highly recommend this spot. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the ambiance feels like Savannah. And of course the food is good. I will be back.

Good food and drink, comfortable setting, reasonable prices. A single burger with wedge fries and a pickle is $9. The burger isn’t huge, but it’s enough, and it comes with nice meaty cheese and something spicy, so it actually has some flavor. They serve local beers in three different sizes which is great—one can have a small beer just to pair with food. They make a good egg cream, nicely proportioned, chocolates and still fizzy enough. The setting is comfortable and the staff are very friendly and attentive. It’s a chill lunch spot, literally a lunch counter, with some high table seating. It’s sort of a deli grocery, but more a place for prepared foods. The drinks are pretty average for the area, a bit less than they might be in a bigger, more expensive city, but not much. The desserts are reasonably priced.

Stopped in for lunch and the menu was limited due to Kaiser buns being out of stock along with a few other lunch items, already small selection of items to order for lunch. Ended up ordering a chicken sandwich with a big piece of chicken that was deep fried and cornmeal battered, the chicken was not to flavorful, maybe marinated will add some more flavor for the price charged, $14.00 for just the sandwich with nothing on the side, chips would have been a plus or fries. The topper of it all was at the time payment you couldn’t leave a tip for the server but the ownership was able to take a ADMINISTRATIVE donation for the betterment of the establishment?
