The corned beef hash was real corned beef and home fried potatoes with onions. And two eggs over medium on top. I along with the meal I had good cup of coffee. The waiter made sure we were well taken care of while in the diner.
We stopped here for breakfast before going to Fort Jackson... we pulled up at 9 a.m. there wasnt a soul in there. As it closer to 10 people came in.. the lady server was not talkative.. but, got our orders right... it only took a few mins for our order... my daughter order biscuits and gravy..NOTE its doesnt have sausage in the gravy it just peppered..I was told it was good... I asked the waitress for for burnt eggs and burnt bacon and as you can see in the picture nothing in either of pics is that... but, it aint a game changer for me just a preference.. they haveqny things you can put on your pancakes, waffles or french toast.. 1.50 per item.. it hard to mess up breakfast.. they do serve plant based alternatives.. multigrain bagel breakfast sandwiches... pretty much anything you can think of for breakfast.. if we get a chance well return..
Very good food for the price. Excellent kitchen staff, as one can often judge a diner by its eggs, and what I had ordered was cooked to perfection. Pancakes are fluffy, the French toast looks beautiful, and the waitress was friendly and fun to interact with. Only reason Im rating four stars instead of five is the limitations on the menu. Would love to see some smaller plate options or more build-your-own combinations without the a la carte pricing for sides.
Very good home made breakfast. I had the corned beef skillet, which was good but I would have preferred more corned beef. Service is great and prices are very reasonable.
Very impressed with the cleanliness and overall throwback diner atmosphere. There were two American men working. One at the grill and the other ringing me up. My order was 100% accurate and the food was really good. Great job gentlemen. Please go visit these guys they could use your buisness. American owned, American operated and Americans greeting you with a smile and a thank you have a nice day.
The burgers, fries, and onion rings put chains to shame, and for the same or less money. The trivia and bingo are genuinely fun and theyre open late. Definitely recommended if youre looking for diner fare.
Very friendly employees, great atmosphere, and great food. Fun music videos. They *desperately* need shades or window tinting over the entrance door for the late afternoon sun and I hope they repair the torn booth soon, but neither of these things would prevent me going back. They would just improve an already good experience.
Loved the atmosphere! The staff were very friendly and the food was really good. Definitely one of my new favorite places to dine while in Savannah.
I ordered a cheesesteak with extra steak, extra cheese, jalapenos, and ranch on the side with fries. LET ME TELL YOU I did not need to order eaxtra steak lol That sandwich was HUGE and fed me for dinner and breakfast. Even then, I was suuuper full each time. BTW DELICIOUS!!!! Im only in town to take care of my mother in law thats unfortunately in the hospital. I was up late and looked up places open near my hotel.. OH MAN!! I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE!! Im literally about to go pick up another order just 2 days later lol Also, the woman that took my order was delightful and informative. LOVE THIS PLACE!!
HORRIBLE FOOD AND RUDE SERVICE. 0/10 recommend. Also, for a group of 6 or more, if you all walk in together whether or not you are paying separately- they make you put it all on one check so they are forced to make you pay an extra 15% gratuity
21 years since I last had breakfast here...it was still a good deal and tasted great. Looks almost the same as it did then but a few updates.
This Diner is so cute! I love the aesthetic and vibe! The menu is very affordable and there are Greek options as well! The staff was very friendly and even though they were very busy when we arrived, we did not have to wait very long for anything. It tasted like grandmothers cooking!Highly recommend!
The service was great, the food was really good. Loved the 1940s-1950s style diner atmosphere.
Tasty food. Service fast and very nice decor.
Great little dinner, it was super vintage like from the 60s and the fast service and food was awesome really recommend it ..
Service was great food was awesome I ordered a hamburger and it was actually a real hamburger and not a frozen pre-made one
The best dinner experience ever! Food was great! I would highly recommend!
Recent visit was far from satisfactory. Food cooked poorly, coffee was soured. Rating dropped from 5 to 3. Service was still excellent.
Cute little place, love the old school ambiance. Food was a great price & tasty.
Lovely little place. Food was good. Love there music. And despite being short staffed. Service was great!
This place is a gem. A regular diner. But what makes it special are the people. The staff are so friendly you feel like your at your aunts or friends home, your stopping in and they tell you to sit and eat. The food is good and you can get a variety of good American food for an excellent price. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner and the hours they are open is a big plus Im my book.
It was good breakfast, but I think pricey for what you get. The 50s style diner was a fun decor, and the old music was a nice touch. My major complaint was the restrooms were filthy and gross.
Had just got into town and they were minutes from closing time. We were encouraged to stay and told we WILL gladly serve you. They went out of their way to make us feel like they were not closing for hours. Food was great service was even better. Offered to make a new pot of coffee even though most would be tossed. Would recommend to others and gladly return myself next time I am in town
A hidden gem for breakfast. Food was fantastic, and service was great.
A nice little 50s style diner. Breakfast was pretty good. There was only 2 people working, but theres a lot of businesss that are short handed lately.
Cute as it can be! My food was plentiful and delicious. Served up in a timely manner. I had the Denver omelette and side of sausage patties. Oddly that did not include toast. I will go back.
Had cheese steak and Ruben 2 different days. Both pretty good. Nice guys running working there. Only bad thing is not enough sweets. Gotta have pie or cake in a diner.Like they say ( theyre not waffle house)
Used to be my favorite spot for midnight munchies years ago, sad to see it become like this nowadays. Last time I was there(sometime last year) I had ordered chicken and some pancakes and eggs. The pancakes and eggs came put fine, but when i was served my mains I couldnt stop laughing because what I got were two halves of a really boney quail that seemed to be cooked on the grill because they were squished (not the one with fire, the one where they make pancakes). My friend on the other side of a table ordered some porkchops, they were so thin they seemed to be one porkchop sliced into two. I hope the soul comes back to the restaurant.
Grits were nasty, lumpy. Service was fast despite being under staffed. Some of the food was cold. Others seemed to enjoy their food though.
Great place. Wonderful staff. Reasonable price. Love my waitress
The best place ever, go and try it is worth it.
Just got the Beyond Meat burger to go. It was great. The service was fast and friendly. Its not the same old Diner. But that Diner killed the last two owners. Good luck in our new normal. You need Fried okra
Always a good spot. I grew up in New Jersey with a diner on every corner. This place definitely gets the feel and the idea of a diner right. I love their coffee and they have really good food specials every day for those looking to save. The inside is bright and retro in the best way. Staff has always been very kind.
They were busy today so I can understand having to wait, but what I dont understand is why the waiter would tell me she would try to get the milkshake I ordered. Her exact words were I will try to get your milkshake, but it is just me so. Like seriously? But we did get it from the guy that was cooking. BLT is plain and very thin. Honestly do not think I will come back.
Wanted to go back down memory lane didnt realize how how terrible of an idea that could become when I think of a diner I think of meatloaf with mashed potatoes in canned vegetables I think of tuna melts and fond memories of jukeboxes Sunday morning with Dad this is not that place this is not a real Tyner anymore this is going to cost you more money than you think it will this is a fancy burger store disguise is a cheap Roadside Diner this is everything you thought it would be and everything you hoped it wouldnt honestly I avoid it like the plague unless what youre looking for is a $14 Burger
The staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious. They seem to be community oriented, they kindly take care of the savannah boys in blue, ( Im not a policeman. But appreciate them) and I think thats awesome. The country platter I ordered was yummy, and their country ham is on point! Open all night. Best choice in savannah after normal dinning hours or anytime. Has the classic diner theme and feel. I think its wonderful. Thanks for a great meal guys. 😃
Food was average, wait staff lady wasnt very pleasant, but my order was correct and it was about what expected. Basic diner breakfast.
Great food. Peaceful environment. Wonderful and friendly service. Just love the atmosphere.
I was actually pretty surprised! It was a really really good breakfast! Ill go back for sure n Ricky the server was excellent!
Lovely place for simple diner food. Fast and competent service.
Good food, solid prices, friendly staff. Cant ask for much more!
Sorry I wanted to enjoy this place I didnt wanna leave a review but since my phone asked me I did... The food in this diner is horrible... I dont think they will last long serving what they are serving... and Im being nice...🤢🤮
The chicken philly and fries were great. The oreo milkshake was delicious. Only one waitress doing all the work. I loved the bowl that the mandarin chicken salad comes in. Sweet tea very sweet. I recommend ordering soda or tea instead of water.a
Great service and surprisingly good food
Used to come here quite often before the changing of ownership. Since The Diner’s changing to The Palace, I have visited three different times. Every single time has been an infuriating disappointment. The new menu is horribly overpriced and the portion sizes are way too small. The food takes too long to come out, and is usually cold. The flavor is bland and unsatisfactory. The staff is friendly, but the service is poor. I work in food service myself, so I know that they can do much better. It’s a shame that one of my regular restaurants has dropped in quality like this. Hopefully the new management will receive the wake up call to restore The Diner to it’s former glory.
Ordered Corned Beef Hash and although there was plenty of food on the plate, there was no Corned Beef. Instead was sliced chunks of ham. The staff insisted it was corned beef. Big difference in texture between pork and beef.
It was not the best hamburger . Our cheese sticks sauce tasted old. The coke was flat . We really like the 50s style thats the only thing we liked. Our waitress was a very nice lady way over worked at lunch today. Only 2 people working. I felt bad for them please give them a raise because they worked very hard. The hamburger was way overcooked on the out side and very pink in the middle. It was like they let it set way to long on one side. He hadbto cook for a lot of people that could be why . Yall really do have good workers . But inwould change the hamburger up a little bit
Was visiting Savannah for a day and stopped by here at about 11pm to get some late night food, I greeted the cashier “hey how are you” and his reply was “tired, sleepy, understaffed and ppl keep coming to get food like they don’t understand that” so I just smiled and said ok I’ll spend my money elsewhere and I left.I understand we’re in hard times but energy is everything, nobody needed that negative attitude.
Good house made corned beef hash! And bingo night!
I will never ever eat at this restaurant ever again i will not tell anyone to eat at the dinner it was the worst experience i ever had with the service and food
The food was fantastic and so was the service. Will definitely come back next time Im in savannah.
Great tasting food, friendly. Glad Dennys was busy so we could find this place. Considerably cheaper and the smaller portion options is AWESOME for light eaters.
Poor service from the cook. Great waiter and all new staff. Looking forward to future updates to the former great restaurant.
This place has taken a huge dive since the new ownership has taken over. Food is expensive and poor quality and no longer hosts the charm it had for so long.
The Diner / Palace is NO PALACE!READ ENTIRE REVIEW BEFORE EATING THERE.I used to eat there all the time but its been a while. I can honestly say something is so wrong. The place is no Palace. It has changed to something dark and Im not going back. Its sad and filled with foreboding.Ive seen neater kennels in 3rd world countries. Rude, Small Portions Tasteless, Expensive, MASKLESS staff, and heres the best part, --- the owner (woman?) blamed a senior citizen for a cold sloppy breakfast. The owner >< wouldnt take responsibility for the cooks misgivings and blamed a poor old person :-( OMG how sad is that? --- Pray for a clean plate and a little courtesy! These are hard times. People who risk their lives walking into a place of any business should be treated with respectHealth department should shut this place down. Theres no way they would ever pass a legitimate inspection!
Ate here on Saturday. The food was just ok and pricy for what it was. I had country fried steak while my wife had a blueberry bagel. The country fried steak was about 3”x3” and had, what seemed to be, a tempura batter. This was served with a small portion of hash brown that were cooked very well, and no toast. My wife added a side of sausage and I had a side of bacon (2 slices). The bill came out to over $20.Our server wasn’t very attentive even though we were her only table. Luckily, the other server stopped by to check on us a couple times. The restaurant is in dire need of cleaning and repair. Dust has covered much of the decor. The booths where showing much age and a barstool was broken and leaning at a 45 angle.
A really nice experience. Much like a waffle house. But with a less gross environment. Good food and friendly staff. We were visiting from out of town and would eat here again.
STOP YALL LITERALLY HAD A RESTAURANT FULL OF PPL NO COLORED AFTER 3 huh?
What’s the point of having opening and closing times if the cook comes in whenever he feels like it..?
I absolutely love this place! Come here with my friends all the time and we always receive amazing service. Such wonderful interaction from the servers as well. Shout out to Nick the waiter who’s always lovely. Food is great as well. Great vibes
Wonderful, attentive service! I enjoyed one of the best Western Omelettes Ive ever had and grits this southern son found perfectly cooked. Plenty of fresh decaf for those of us that must limit our caffeine intake. A great experience all the way around!
The food was delicious and freshly cooked. It didnt take long for the to prepare and the service was awesome.
Great staff, great food. This is where we always eat when we visit. Try the Vienna French press Fancy Coffee locally roasted
I was just browsing for a breakfast place since we are traveling from out of town. I came across this restaurant since we have drove past it a few times and I read the reviews. I always review places I go/have been and believe it is very important for others to as well since you can really get a feel for the place. I read through the most recent reviews and did not see many good reviews. In fact, nearly all of the negative reviews had a response from the owner that was actually rude. No apologies, only a sarcastic response essentially blaming the customer for their poor experience. The few positive comments had no response.. No thank you or anything. I didnt actually eat here, so its unusual for me to leave a review, but judging by the arrogance in the responses, we will not even try this place. I hope the manager or owner writing the responses realizes that they are losing business because of their attitude. Not just from the people who have eaten there, but from potentially new customers as well.
Service was horrible and most of the food we order on the menu, the waitress told us an hour later they didnt have. We decide to leave after waiting another 30 min because still no food was service, we were told we had to pay for the food they are cooking for us due to there policy...I would not recommend this diner
The Philly steak and cheese omelette was everything. I really like this place and they serve you hot fresh good food everytime.
Good breakfast. They were understaffed but we barely noticed bc we got served quickly. We will be back again.
Cool place! Great service and a solid greasy spoon. Dirt cheap which is a huge pro. I’ll be back!
Did not taste good.
Hidden Gem forsure. New Too Savannah and we might have found our Spot
Enjoyed the food had a fantastic waiter, great spirits..
They were fantastic...food portions were great...They allowed a whole group of young people to come in and play MTG. The atmosphere was sweet and the people were amazing
My friends and I come here almost every week! Great food (and they have vegan options)!!! Every time we go to the Palace, Nick serves our food with great customer service!!! We love him!!! Definitely worth going here
Rest In Peace Rick. We miss you buddy.
Fast, and super friendly service. This will definitely be a staple for us in the future!!!
My friends and I used to visit the diner all the time due to its inexpensive menu, good quality food, 24hr service and friendly staff. Ever since ownership and branding of the restaurant were changed to “The Palace” each visit has gotten progressively worse. This last visit sent me over the edge. We waited for our food for a good 45 mins, even though we had extremely simple orders and the restaurant only had about 3 tables seated. Everything came out cold, and the portions were extremely small and the food was bland considering the price. The waiter even forgot to bring us some of our items. None of the staff was wearing masks, nor requiring customers to. Hand sanitizer/wipes were not even provided at the register. Just because you clean up a hole in the wall restaurant and add some flowers to the tables, does not excuse poor quality product and inconsiderate service. In addition to this, as a business owner myself, I am extremely appalled at how the owner is handling negative reviews. Being passive, blaming YOUR problems on the customers, and being blatantly disrespectful is a fantastic way to kill a business. Such a shame to see a Savannah staple go to waste, and I hope the previous owners and staff are doing well.
Me and my coworkers went a few nights ago after a long day at works. it was like 12am and we were starving. im also usually not the one to leave a review.. BUT this was a must. our server was absolutely great, sad i didn’t get his name to credit him! from the moment we got there, he was so very polite and that’s great customer service. the food? amazing, we left there very happy. there was only 1 cook and 1 server and they both were phenomenal. 10/10 recommend.
May be new name but still an old runned down diner. Needs good cleaning and make over. Food is just OK
I want to like places like this, but I was let down.A bit expensive, especially considering that I paid extra for strawberries on my pancakes, and got maybe 3. Not cool. The coffee wasnt great, and the mugs had lipstick on them. Mine did, and we thought it was gross, but then we saw some on my friends as well. Also not cool. And finally, our server, Krista, made some negative comments about other patrons, and was laughing with another server. Also not cool.
The service was fast and friendly. The home fries (breakfast potatoes) were amazing and so crispy. Nice, large portions for breakfast.
The waitress was on the ball with making sure we had everything we needed. The meal fabulous couldnt ask for a better mushroom Swiss burger. They have 50s and 60s music playing to set the atmosphere of being in the 50s and 60s. Would recommend people come by for great service and great food.
Nice looking and good food
Cheesesteak sandwich and omelet were overcooked. Meat was crispy and dried out. Hashbrowns were okay and fries were good. Atmosphere was nice. Overall cleanliness was 3 out of 5.
Extremely limited menu. Its def changed for the worse with new ownership. It seemed as they did not want our money, much less our business. Disappointed
Food was good waiter was nice nice morning stop for food
I ate breakfast there and it was just ok. Sausage was overcooked, French toast wasnt hot enough to melt the butter, and the warm genuine maple syrup I paid extra for was cold and didnt taste like real maple.
The scrambled eggs with ham were good. Unfortunately, the french toast was tasteless. It tasted as if 3/4 of the ingredients were missing. There were only two customers in the restaurant and they forgot to bring me my grits.
What a great place!! This diner has the classic 50s nostalgia, with great music from past decades and music videos to match. Their milkshakes are perfect, and the food better still. Ask for Nick or Maddie for great service that’s personal and gives the feel of a small town gem.
I didnt really care for the food and the service was ok. I wouldnt recommend it but someone could have a better experience. I went because of how the building looked
