Great food, great service. The place was very clean and I loved the Retro decor. You order food at the counter and take a seat. They bring everything to you. My group got a mushroom and swiss burger, $hit on a shingle, and chicken fried chicken fries. Portion sizes were just right. Prices were fair, and there was no shortage of flavor.
Great fast casual. The milkshake was amazing. The menu had a big variety of classic burger joint and diner type options. Everything we got was really good. The staff was very friendly. It is inside the American Legion but open to everyone. You can access the American Legion bar after 4pm. Good for food if youre visiting Forsythe Park.
We ordered the Nachos appetizer, Hot Pastrami sandwich, & Battle of the Bulge burger. The Nachos were OK - although a bit dry and flavor lacking, the chili on top was good. The sandwich had good meat but could’ve used more mustard. The burger was greasy and flavorful which was expected by the look of it and the price ($22)! We were not fans of the fries as they lacked flavor and were fried too hard. The restaurant was clean, service was good, parking was ample around 4 PM.
We got nachos, chicken tenders, pulled pork fries and a couple of burgers. Overall, the food was decent. Portions are large and we had a ton leftover, so with the fries and nachos, its definitely enough to feed several people. Atmosphere is cool! That was our favorite part. We will go back and take our kids to check it out.
So happy we tried this spot on a whim during a recent visit to Savannah! Affordable prices, great quality and generous portions! Some in our group went back a second time in the same day because they loved the tacos so much! My recommendation is the pecan pie 🤤
Visiting this beautiful city! I want to complement the attendants. So friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is from the 40s and the place is clean and orderly. Now to the food, maybe it is that Im not from the area, but the fried food was very difficult to enjoy. Just the smell was not appetizing. I got the fried chicken fried fries. Not my favorite from now on. The chocolate milkshake was pretty good. Onion rings were very good. Now my wife a chili cup and fries buffalo chicken fries. That was $55.00! I think that was, for the quantity and specially the quality, a highway robbery. For me, this will be a one and done place.
A little pricey but they were up front about them being raised for COVID. They have a good veggie bean burger and the onion rings are great (I ate most of them before I remembered to take a picture)! I wish there were more onion rings per serving. Its located in the American Legion with great WWII memorabilia and decor. The staff was very friendly and the service was wonderful. The menus are also themed with WWII items. They also took wonderful COVID precautions.
Great food. The chili cheese nachos had toppings throughout and not just on top. The bbq wings were crispy and not soggy. Portions matched the pricing. If you go on the weekend be prepared to possibly walk a block or two to find parking. I would definitely go back.
The was our first official visit we ordered ToGo (everything was out of stock the first time we came a day or 2 after st. Patricks day) we got 2 steak and cheese 1 with onion rings and 1 with chips and queso and 1 large chilli cheese fries. Now I dont know of the onion rings were supposed to be that dark but they were not good and gave a bad aftertaste along with being really salty. The steak and cheese tasted burnt as well and was not too good. The chili cheese fries and the chips and queso were ok. Everything looked very appealing in the pics which is why we went but I guess we came on an off night and got burnt food. $42 spent and wasted coulda used it for Applebees instead. Dont think we will come back if we do it will be a long time from now. 🤷🏾♂️
Really unique retro restaurant. Feels like something out of world war 1. Food is good, especially the burgers. Real milkshakes in the tall fancy glass. Its a smaller place so you might have trouble getting a table, but typically not bad.
This place is very nice, its world War themed and Im sure would be heaven for people in the military. Their food is really good, their aesthetic is well put together. The people that work there are OK, they just seem chill and arent really putting too many efforts to make connections but thats not really necessary anyway. The restaurant is great!
We drove four hours away to come back here. My daughter loves the Philly cheesesteak. Food was fresh and hot. Good customer service!! I had a Philly steak salad and chips, queso dip and fresh salsa 🤤🤤😋😋 Will definitely return 💯💯
This place was absolutely amazing, we got 2 different burgers, spicy chicken fries, and the IBC floats. Everything was cook/ prepared to perfection. I could not ask for better food.
Super 1940s inspired cafe with an incredible World War Two inspired history on the walls and delicious food. The shakes are legitimately 2950s are are to die for. Hamburgers, pulled pork, pastrami- all great choices. It can get crowded but the line does go quickly. Food can take a while to arrive- when it’s this good, it’s worth waiting for.
Kinda run down /outdated. You order at the counter and sit yourself. Staff was friendly and food didnt take long. Philly cheese steak was good but the chicken tenders werent much better than store bought frozen nuggets. Old time decor was cool to look out. Easy food to grab if youre visiting the park.
This is hands down the BEST burger in Savannah. The staff, food and atmosphere are unique and great! A must go for anyone.
Very cool atmosphere! The staff was amazing and accommodating of our large group, extremely kind and attentive. Diner style, walk up and order. Food was fantastic.came with a group of 9 and everyone was pleased with their order!! Definitely recommend!
Food and service were both great. A little more than you would expect to spend on burgers but.... it was good. Neat nostalgic place too
First, love the setting and the atmosphere. Second, the root beer float was AMAZING. Third, while it was pricey, they did explain they had to raise prices. However, my husband and I ordered just the regular cheeseburger and it was nasty. I wasnt prepared to eat a meatloaf burger. If I had known that was what I was going to get, I would NOT have ordered it.
Food that is almost as great as the nostalgia. I am a bit of a philly cheese steak head, do love the rendition here but their burgers are SO MUCH BETTER. Great palate in that menu. Also they treat you so wonderfully over at Legion when they get the food to you.
Fantastic place, cheap alcohol and great food
Fun, retro (1940s) decor. Theres a big variety of food and everything we ordered was scrumptious! All the employees we encountered were very polite and helpful.
This is a quaint little spot nestled inside the American Legion. Its a throw back Retro style American eatery with a menu thats straight outta a mans dream. a true melange of style and flavor from old style America. The Burger I got had two patties with cheese, topped with a fried egg and smothered in chili!! To die for. Had fries with steak and cheese on top and Viola!!! Thats my dream dinner that put me to sleep. The cheese was just OK on the fries. Meal was great though otherwise. Get a milkshake for old time sake
Good burger and good pulled pork sandwich. Fun atmosphere, and quality food for the price. Chocolate milk shake was incredible. Great quick casual stop.
I came here for a little celebration in finishing my finals and it was definitely a great experience. All the staff were super friendly, pretty quick and speedy service. The place was well cleaned and taken care of.The food was so good, I only got some fries but I’ve heard their burgers are amazing. I actually went for their milkshakes though. And I was not disappointed, I ordered a strawberry milkshake and the entire glass was bigger than my head! It tasted amazing! The place was a little difficult to find at first, but I had almost no issues with it. The actual store was so cool looking, awesome posters and pictures all over the walls. There was even great older music playing.Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to grab a quick dinner!
Great food and great service! Kind and attentive staff. I loved the decor. Early 40s/50s vibes with lots of hand drawn art! Would highly recommend.
This was the best burger and lunch experience I have had this year.
If you are looking for a great place to eat in Savannah that has amazing food this is the place. The nachos were simply the best we have ever had. The cheese steak sandwich was too die for. The 50s Era decor is fun and the staff is super friendly. Check them out you wont be disappointed.
The burgers were outstanding! Wide variety of american fare and the bar has VERY reasonably priced drinks!
This was a perfect end to our day. Order at the counter, quick service, and delicious food. Burgers, fried, and sodas. VEGETARIANS- they have an amazing g veggie burger (fresh, white bean veggie burger! Yum!) perfect for hungry kids or impatient adults. Great location near Forsyth Park. Will be back for sure! Wonderful experience!
Americana style food. Yummy. Shakes really good too. Love the decor.
Good Food. Quite large portions for the price too. Has a kids menu. It has a lot of military decor. Overall just a good place to visit in Savannah. Restaurant is inside the American Legion.
Good place for burgers and sandwiches. Cool atmosphere. 50s diner vibe.
The ambiance was really cute. The staff was attentive, quick and accommodating. I ordered the cheesesteak with fries, my wife ordered the pulled pork and onion rings and we got a hotdog and fries for our tot. This was our first time visiting this restaurant since we aren’t from the area. We walked here from our hotel. Nice walk and worth it. I recommend.
Definitely seems like a place to visit for atmosphere. The burger was not bad, nothing to write home about...but DO NOT order the fries. They were just not tasty, at all. Other side options may be yummy but the fries were pretty bad.
Food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing! In the historic area of Savannah and close to Forsyth Park.
We arrived at 8pm with a party of 10. We waited to order and the first plate came out at 8:30 pm. I was almost done with my wings when the burgers started coming out. Long story short, the food was great, but as we were leaving the server immediately started rearranging the tables back. He yanked them so hard he threw chicken bones and plates on the floor. As soon as we walked out the door, he SLAMMED the door behind us. Gear food, but THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Ive ever experienced at a restaurant. My friends were here from Ohio. Ill never recommend going back there.
Cool WW2 themed restaurant that serves American fare. Nifty WW2 posters abound and the waitresses wear 40s style garb. There is an American Legion next door that serves cheap alcohol. Nestled in a college town around the corner from a park. If youre coming from I-95, takes 20-30m to get to the restaurant and can take awhile to get back to the highway due to having to use the bridge.
It was amazing their bbq pork cheese fries were so good
Always a treat! Hidden gem in downtown Savannah. And an American flag on every meal. Go learn a little American history while you dine. You wont be disappointed.
We heard about this from our hop on hop off bus driver. Mainly about the Deep Burn burger which is made with a Carolina Reaper. It is located inside the American Legion. Decorated based on the bombers from the war. Interesting pictures on the wall. I only had the burger, and it was definitely hot and worth it. I was already sweating due to the Georgia heat, but the heat from the burger kicked it up a notch. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was clean. The burger was a little pricey and the only reason for the lost star. But it was definitely worth it. If you are into hot foods, this is a must stop on your list.
Couldnt inhale the burger fast enough! Pickles are made in-house and the apple pie is perfection
Great atmosphere, cheap drinks, good food. Fun place to hang out.
Always great food. Can not go wrong v eating there. The burgers here have ruined me for any other burger place.
Great burgers, ordered take out and really enjoyed. Random location but trust the process!
Our aunt declared Betty Bomber’s Classic “the best burger I’ve ever had!” and Ican’t say I disagree. We may never try another burger place in Savannah, as this would be impossible to beat.
What a hidden gem! Love the theme, the music, how the workers dress, the atmosphere everything! You order at the counter, and they deliver the food to your table. We read a WWII book while we waited. Ordered a classic bomber burger, with queso cheese! Also ordered the cheese steak hoagie and chili cheese fries! Wow! The food was delicious! Can’t wait to go back try the chili cheese hot dog. Also had a brownie which was yummy too!
Great Burgers and great environment and scenery, Definitely recommended if you wanna have a good Burger in Savannah..
While walking around town we ran into a nice lady, she recommended Betty Bombers for lunch. I love history so seeing the memorabilia from WWII on the walls was very cool. Good food and they also got a huge root beer/coke float if your in the mood.
Im kid kid that lost his phone 🤣 the reason I give 5 stars is because yall did not take my phone and hide it yall were honest people so thank you very much and the guy at the front taking orders at like 8:30pm GOD BLESS YOU for not taking my phone 🙏 also the burger was amazing and fries were to
It was so good! One of my favorite places we ate at since coming. My husband and I shared a Salisbury steak sandwich, and steak and and cheese fries. Parking was easy & had a nice walk at the park after.
We had two classic bomber specials, chicken fingers and fries, onion rings, two chocolate shakes. Everything was fantastic! The staff was extremely accommodating, friendly, and upbeat. It is very basic, a real old diner, and they had amazing decor made up of world war II era advertisements primarily for women to join the war effort. It was really cool. One thing, the description on Google shows this as a single dollar sign, indicating that it is inexpensive. it is not particularly inexpensive. The meals I described totaled over $50. That said, it was very good.
Betty’s is total Americana! Excellent food-we all loved what we ate! Family friendly atmosphere and great service as well!!!
I have been eating at Bettys for several years and it is by far my favorite place to get a delicious burger, fries and chocolate shake. I finally got my fiancé to try it for the first time last weekend and the look on his face with the first bite is priceless. It was delicious as always. You are now his favorite spot to satisfy that burger craving. So much so, he wants to come back this weekend! Highly recommend to everyone.
To start Ill say we got take out. But thats not a bad thing. The food was very tasty. Sauces on wing had great flavor and heat! Its not the cheapest and the interior isnt fancy but it lives up to its expectations.!!! Thanks Betty Bomber! See you again someday!
Fast friendly service. Fresh delicious food. Try something new.
This place is a nice little place in the same building as the legion. The food was excellent I got the ultimate chicken sub. Bonus the drinks at the legion are cheap.
Great burger, the best bbq sandwich I have ever ate.
Great place with friendly service and good food, I love all the posters on the wall and the music in the background. Really makes you feel like your dining in the mid 1900s.
BBQ pork sandwich and the buffalo chicken cheese fries were both fantastic! Perfect location next to Forsyth Park makes grabbing a bite to eat after family time a perfect option!
