The food truck stopped by our apartment complex, absolutely delicious! It was storming horribly but the staff were still super friendly and super helpful!I’m vegetarian and very picky, so most food trucks never have food I can eat and like. But the veggie pie is amazing. Perfect size to eat and still have leftovers. The garlic sauce is fantastic. The pie isn’t quite as good as my moms homemade, but it’s very close and honestly that’s the best it can get. Absolutely delicious!
I had the chicken pot pie, Victoria cake and the beef and ale. The cake was not good, the chicken pot pie had some weird tasting spots. The beef and ale was VERY good I would go back for a fix and to try the other goodies. I like that the pies are really crusty and seem to be made from scratch. Really cute spot but small and not a lot of seating.
Chocolate silk pie was really good. Beer was good, Service was not so great. Space is small with some additional sitting towards the back of the building. They have clever names for some of their drinks. If you are craving some Leopolds ice cream, they have a few flavors to choose from. Location is great, next to City Market, great shops and restaurants. Not sure if I would be back.
We ate there for lunch and it was fabulous! We liked it so much we ordered it for a late supper through Door dash and things went horribly wrong. We ordered a Shepards pie and Cornish pastry. What was delivered was a cold savory pie of some sort. Like almost microwaved just enough to defrost. And a warm chicken curry pie. Both definitely not what we ordered. I recommend eating there but not ordering delivery from there.
There was no wait, we just walked in and we were served by the most friendly cashier. The pies are huge and there is about 12 savory varieties to choose from. I was so thrilled about the chicken pot pie I forgot to see what else was on the menu. It was a wonderful experience right in the heart of City Market, very affordable and a fun experience. It is definitely a go to spot for me in my downtown adventures!!
Quick stop as part of a food tour. I loved the idea of bringing a piece of England here. They have sweet and savory pie options and fantastic sausage croissants. It’s a cozy atmosphere with fun drinks options. I saw 4 beer taps available. The butter beer was good, but I would have preferred some sugar in my whipped cream topping. Additional seating through the bar in “the snug” and “the conservatory”. Cheers 🍻
This place is honestly a hit or miss depending on the type of pie you get. My apple berry crumble was pretty good, but was very mushy. However, the apple pie wasnt the greatest. The wrong type of apples were used, giving this pie a dry and flavorless taste. The front area where you order is small, but manageable. Staff was friendly and quick and the decor was pretty simple.I got my pies to go, but there is seating inside as well as a bar area.
We stopped in for a quick bite before catching a ghost tour. The ham pastry and sausage pastry were incredible and easy to eat and run. The food was reason enough for review, but Olivia and Jess found and held our nephews phone that fell out of his pocket. Friendly and helpful staff earned the 5-stars!
Disappointed to say the least. After reading some good reviews, I thought my son and I would try this cozy little spot in the hopes of a good sausage roll to try before bringing the rest of the family. After reading one review of how the items are made daily, I was hoping for at least something fresh. My son and I took a nice little stroll though the scenic streets of Savannah before it got too hot, so we got there just after opening. We showed up around 8:05am and saw that the closed sign was still showing with the lady working still bringing out the tables outside the restaurant. No worries, so my son and I just went to the Market area and sat for a minute to enjoy the morning. Around 8:30, we figured that we gave the lady plenty of time to get settled in and opened for business. Well, we went in, and she was still setting up. Apparently, the fresh items were made the day before and were in the fridge casing, because she told us that everything was still cold. I asked if they could be heated up, and she told me, “You can take them and heat them yourself.” She didn’t say it hatefully, but just a matter of fact like. Well, that was not very pleasant. We still bought 1 sausage roll a piece to see if it was worth bringing the rest of the family. It wasn’t. My son and I were VERY disappointed in our experience after reading some other positive reviews. The taste of the cold sausage rolls was at best to say as meh. My son’s sausage roll was lacking in sausage. I am not British but have made sausage rolls with some advice from some British friends how to make them as authentic as possible here in America. Just get some Jimmy Dean sausage no casing, form in to the signature roll shape, brush on some Coleman’s English mustard, place in thawed out puff pastry, egg wash, then bake accordingly. I will not be going back and would not recommend. ☹️
The pies here are amazing! A must-do if youre in Savannah - or anywhere within driving distance!Ive had the steak and mushroom pie, the chicken and thyme, and the chicken curry pies - and I have nothing but fantastic things to say about all of them! The steak and mushroom has really tender meat and an amazing gravy, the chicken and thyme has a wonderful flavor, and the chicken curry is fun and delicious - all with wonderfully flaky crusts! They also have some really nice desert options! The atmosphere and seating areas are also lovely! Feels very cozy and fun, and was a lovely place to sit and eat. The employees were also really lovely and welcoming.
Love this place! Great bar, Patrick is excellent barman! Pies are amazing, a must try 😀We’ll visit every time we are in Savannah!
What a nice little gem in Savannah. Guy behind the counter was super friendly and nice. You could tell he loved where he worked and loved the products he was selling.Food was amazing!!!
The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. You know thats my thing. The food was awesome. We had the chicken & thyme and steak & potato. I wasnt feeling my best but ate almost the whole meal.Small place, so be warned about seating.
One of my favorite cozy spots for an intimate bite at the bar!
This place has some REALLY good pies!I cant say Im a fan of their sweeter pies (tried apple:meh, mixed berry:good, and the raspberry tart: good) but their savory pies are so scrumptious. Ive traveled to Savannah three times this summer so far and Ive come here every time cause I cant get enough! My favourite is the Steak&Ale pie very zesty and lost of meatThe chicken pot pie is delicious as well! Lots of chicken to it and they told me they use a local butcher for this one!The curry pie is exactly like the curry my mom made growing up and shes from Japan. The people who work here know the area and are very friendly and considerate!Would definitely recommend!!
Had a great time at Little Crown by Pie Society! The pies were delicious and the options were plentiful! The bar is well stocked and the decor is just right. You feel like you’ve been transported to a pub in England. But Mickey and Melissa put the experience over-the-top!! Super personable, attentive, friendly and funny!! Mickey had us laughing so hard! There are so many places to eat in Savannah with great atmosphere. What really makes one place stand out over another is the people. They got it right on all points!! Oh, and if you want a real laugh, ask Mickey for the restroom key! LOL
Update!! 4/2021My husband & I have been trying restaurants with delivery through Doordash.*The chicken pot pie recommended!!! (you may call ahead as pies go fast and they are happy to make extra they just need to know, also to ensure your favorite pie will be safely in stock 👍)Please be aware... ordering through Doordash may result in receiving the wrong pies!!!📌 Ordered two Steak & Potato pies and received two Chicken & Thyme pies...Was upset at first!!📞 Calling, we learned about an issue with Doordash.📣 On a good note a new pie was discovered! 🆕 Found under Our Faves List!!!🔎An ongoing mission regarding, the context, how this miscommunication may be rectified!📌 Received two pies but were not the ones we ordered!🔎 Conflicted by an unusual halfway correct / halfway incorrect order received. To be continued... 👍✨OUR FAVS✨- Chicken- Steak & Potato- Taste like a roastWith potatoes 😁- Chicken & Thyme- Cottage Pie (in a pie with mashed potatoes as the top, not crust)🏆DESSERTS🏆- Silk Pie- Apple pieThe food is nicely packed and delivered hot!🔻 NOT FOR ME PIES🔻- Vegetable Pie (taste of wrongly mixed spices)-I have pictures of the Chicken pot pie, Steak& Potato apple pie! I wish I had taken a picture of our food before we ate it, it was such a good pie! We had one of the savory ones and it was delightful, the crust was beautiful buttery and the meat inside was melt in your mouth good. Additionally, the staff was so sweet and created a great atmosphere. Would recommend!
This is a nice little place. Limited seating so don’t expect a large group to have a place to sit. I had the curry chicken pie. It tasted good and the chicken seemed to be good quality chicken. The curry was not quite cooked enough for the flavor to develop. You know, like if you sprinkle curry on chicken and eat it verse stewing the chicken in the curry or at least cooking the curry a bit in oil before mixing it in. And my the crust on mine was a bit over done. All in all great flavor and I would for sure eat here again and recommend it to friends.
My husband and I stopped here late when we first got into Savannah for a weekend vacation, and I’m glad we did. We had the chicken curry pastry, the cheddar, onion, and potato pastry, a beer, and butter beer. All were delicious, and the staff was very friendly!
Great little shop and bar here; we got a few drinks and the key lime pie before we left and everything was fantastic. The staff was fun and sociable and the wife got some (alcoholic) butterbeer which she loved. Cant wait to make it back to Savannah and come here again!
Food is good, but the service is less than exceptional. Almost every time I go in, I have to wait nearly 10 minutes because their staff doesnt notice me, so Ive even had to leave a few times. Theyre not that friendly either. Ive also been asked to push my chair back in, which is not an unreasonable request but Ive never been anywhere and the staff asked me to put my seat back (when it was only turned about 45° away from the table).
The best pastry place IV been to in the states hands down, and Im kiwi who know Sam good pies... If you wont the real thing eat here, half of me doesnt want to give too good review so I can keep this place to my self, but I be sad if you didnt enjoy alittle slice heaven in your mouth.
An absolute hidden gem. The drinks are fantastic. The bar is small but they have additional seating in 2 rooms in the building. My only regret is not trying one of the pies.
True pasties, awesome meat, pork, chicken curry pies as well. Great place to get butter beer! If you dont know about it, check it out.
Always 5 stars. My fiance and I Iove this place
I cried the day we left Savannah because all of the reviews were true. The best darn pies in the south. I am still hankering for their chicken pot pie and peach pie. Everything is freshly made and comes out piping out. We had to share the chicken pot pie because of all the rich and abundant fillings. My cousin had the beef and ale. Beat thing on the menu. The meat was tender and flavorful.Make sure you are super hungry when you arrive. It will leave you full and rolling out the door.
I love this place! The chocolate silk pie is amazing and all of quiches are very good! Not a lot of seating, but its in a great place where you could walk around and eat or just find seating elsewhere
Yummy meat pies. Informal setting. Tiny pub with outdoor tables. What Ho, Jeeves!
The pumpkin pie was very disappointing. So thin and no pumpkin flavor - all clove. My friends had the apple pie that had no spice, but was thick, and full of apples, but no gooey center. However, it was served ice cold. Pie shell seemed more cake-like. Waste of calories and money.
You have to stop in! The smells will overwhelm you in the best way. My husband is from England and has got me hooked on the meat pies that are so loved across the pond. I literally have not gotten an item I didn’t like here! I strongly suggest the steak & ale pie, Victoria sponge, bread pudding, sausage roll & chicken curry pasty — but like I said, you really can’t go wrong!
Loved the food in the past. No need to be rude to people for asking if a mask is required for vaccinated patrons.Hire more courteous staff and perhaps I’ll be back in the future.
The apple and wild berry pie was so good! The crust melted in my mouth!
Great food! The only reason it did not get a 5 star review is that it took a good 8 minutes to make a drink....I was the only one getting a drink.
Ordered 7 dessert pies to go for a company event. Key lime was the group favorite. All were excellent.
Wife went in to look around. Lady was extremely rude about moving out of the way to shelve fresh baked. Wife asked when she was done, she’d like a pork pie. Wife looked at tshirts and staff huffed and puffed and said if u tell me your size I can get so you don’t mess them. Well wife needed to see the design- so rude. Pork pie was good but will never step foot in store again. I’ve read at least half dozen bad reviews on rude staff!!!!
We went on a weekend and the selection and service were great. The pies were tasty and fresh. Our server was so polite and gave us info on the area. Will come back for more!
Quaint little English-inspired pub with a vast selection of savory and sweet pies and pastries. Strongbow and Boddington’s on tap! Docked off a star because they serve it in plastic cups, which kinda diminish the pub authenticity experience.
My family visits this area a few times a year. This was one of our favorite spots as the pies are our absolute favorite and we are willing to go across multiple states to get them! Up until now we have never had an issue but today (June 17th 1:00pm) the service was HORRIBLE. The worker was not wearing name tag or else I would include it here. Extremely rude and disorganized. We were simply trying to order what was supposedly available off the menu but she kept yelling at my father and I to look for it ourselves. They were missing some of our favorites so we went to order based off of the signs in the display case. Behind the pork pies sign was three pies and when we asked she very rudely said she only had one. We were confused and said that the signs must be mixed up but they looked identical to the pork apple pies next to it but she made it seem like it was our fault the signs were mixed up. Made horrid faces and rolled her eyes over each thing we tried to order. In fact she even yelled at people trying to come into the store. I will admit there were already quite a few people in there but a simple excuse me sir but were a bit packed in here can you please wait outside is the appropriate response not GET OUT CANT YOU SEE IM FULL IN HERE. Absolutely unbelievable. Would give 0 stars if possible.
Visiting Savannah decided to stop in since this place had such good reviews. Ordered the chicken pot pie and it was delicious. I’m a foodie and travel and do food reviews every where I go. Honestly the best pot pie I’ve had thus far. It’s not too soupy, the meat inside is wonderful and flavorful overall I was impressed and can vouch for the high ratings, I was definitely impressed.
Was like 90% flour crust and barely any filling. We spit it out. Wanted to love it... But horrible.
The food, both savory and sweet are amazing here! We visit every time we are in Savannah and are never disappointed. More recently, I got married and Pie Society provided sausage rolls as canapes in addition to shortbread cookies as favors for our wedding. They were a smash hit and raved about. It was a great pleasure to work with Gill and her staff at the Savannah location. We cant wait to come back and order more the next time we are in town!
If you love authentic English pastries this is the place to go. We went really early not knowing they dont have their pies available until 11am. But they did have some scrumptious sausage rolls and pasties on hand. The beef and blue and the chicken curry were extremely tasty. Cant wait to come back and try some pies!!
I ordered the coconut cream pie and it was awful. Half inch thick, doughy, tasteless crust! Thick, pasty filling that tasted nothing like coconut and tasteless whipped cream on top!My husband ordered key lime pie. Again, most of it was think, hard graham cracker crust with thin layer of filling. At least the filling was good, just not enough of it.We won’t be back and I can’t recommend it to anyone!!
Banoffe pie is the go to! Stopped by for a quick sweet treat and it was delicious. The two staff members there were super nice! One mentioned the Banoffe was her favorite, and even followed up with us asking us how it was. Sweet treats, sweeter staff
Good apple pie and the sausage also.
I ordered two pies from this place with no expectations, but with some standards. Sadly the crust of the pie is almost completely raw. Not “English Style” soft-baked, but actual raw flour. Not edible.
Small shop with bar and a few tables. Bought one of their quiches to eat there and it was a wonderful custard egg type quiche and very good. I also bought a hand pie for the road. I wouldnt recommend the hand pie, it was too much crust and dough and not enough filling.Service was quick and efficient.
Excellent little spot for some authentic British pie goodness. I reccomend the banoffee pie if you have a sweet tooth!
As a native Englishman living stateside this is my first experience having any resemblance of pies and pasties. Growing up in northern England it was a large part of what I grew up on. I have to say not only is the pie society my best experience of English food in the States but a very nice surprise to enjoy the taste of what I have missed since last being home
We enjoyed the pies but the customer service was horrible. I tried to be as friendly as possible to the young lady serving us but she remained cold and dry to us. The funny thing is we are in town for three more days and my husband wanted more pie but we refuse to go back to this location based on the service we received.
Amazing steak and potatoes pie. And so many other options. Highly recommend, whether small lunch or full meal!!
You must visit and have SANTINA make your drink. The savory pies are amazing but Santina’s drinks are even better.
Always a treat. Enjoyed some delicious pies for dinner. We tried the banofee ice cream specially made for the Pie Society by Leopolds. It was wonderful!
Found them through a food tour we took while in town. We stopped by the next day for a snack and ended up bringing a bunch home. The sausage rolls are amazing (but we personally would have liked some brown mustard with them). Homemades sage sausage wrapped in puff pastry. So good.We also picked up a chicken curry pie and it was amazing. Travelles well back home and reheated perfectly. The taste was amazing as well.Highly recommend for a snack and adult beverage.
Friendly service but small selection of pies. Bananoffee was good but I wouldve liked more of the filling under the meringue.
Excellent selection, great food, and friendly service.
Really good food. You can tell they care about what they serve and you taste every single bite till its gone.
Intimate. Quality. Good time
Great food, nice little bar
It’s great that they are open late, the pies are frozen and then thawed which is sad at $7 to $8 a slice.
Adorable micro pub and bakery with some of the best eats in Savannah. The Saturday rolls are out-of-this-world flakey and delicious and the curried pies are a favorite. The fun, british atmosphere is something both sophisticated and relaxed, and the few seating areas around the interior mall portion allow for a few cozy, intimate, private conversations away from the bar full elegant natural lighting. Dont forget to check out the local art galleries while youre in the area for some stunning hidden gems while youre there!!
The pie was excellent fresh and very tasty I drive 1200 miles to try it 😋
