This place went above and beyond our expectations. Chris the bartender made some incredible cocktails, such as his rosemary honey bourbon cocktail that was just the right amount of herb and sweetness. Our other favorite was the Cucumber smash, that was so refreshing we had to stop ourselves from ordering more than 2. The place had a great vibe and we can’t wait to go back and play all the arcade games. What a gem!

A wide variety of pinball and arcade games. Not alot of variety of food but could have also been because of the time of night. The attention to detail on the drink was wonderful. It was a bit crowded, but thats because of its popularity

Visiting from out of town, Chris and Mag gave the most amazing experience I’ve received at a bar. Fast service you won’t wait over a minute for your drink! First time here I’ll definitely be back (: thank you guys so much for an amazing experience and if you’re in downtown Savannah make sure you stop by!!!!! The games are fun also, a perfect spot to get your favorite drinks and play games with a snack in your hand (:

Not bad at all considering you might not find many places with variety of machines & games. Loved variety of pinball machines. Small & kinda cozy. Seems to be an ok hang spot for young folks & older folks who are young at heart. Pool table, air hockey, wide variety of games, some food. & variety of beverages.

We had to kill some time before meeting up with friends in the area and we stumbled in here. We love hitting pinball bars and arcades so we were delighted to find a pinball machine here we havent seen anywhere else. It was like a pinball baseball game. Super cool and a ton of fun to play.

The Portal Arcade, Café, and Bar holds great potential yet lacks in some areas within their operation. First and foremost, I should note that the staff was friendly and quite welcoming, so for me, thats a major plus. However, there were games that werent working and just ate quarters which for an arcade is a big deal. Furthermore, many of the game controls, such as sticks, buttons, and wheels were sticky or greasy which was an inconvenience. Although, its nice to see this place catered to vegans from a look at the menu so theres that. All in all, I dont feel a five star is fitting at the moment for this place however, with a little more effort put into their operation here it could become a something far more unique than it is for Savannah!

This place was *fine*.Starting with the good - there are a lot pinball games and a lot of the classics - Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and even a couple of skeeball machines. The food was surprisingly delicious. Now the Not so good - When we ordered a sandwich and a quesadilla my husband asked if there were any sides. We were told it comes with a side of salsa. $26 for just a sandwich and a quesadilla. There was one buy behind the counter who seemed like he would rather be anywhere else It was SUPER hot in there. There was also a homeless man playing pool with just the cue ball and yelling to himself. Bartenders were perfectly aware of this and walked over to him three times, though I dont know if anything was ever said, but we were the 3rd couple to leave because of his monopoly on the table and his stench.Weve been to other arcades like Fun Spot in New Hampshire and The Pinball Museum in Asheville, NC and really expected more.

Interesting arcade in downtown Savannah and similar to other old school arcades popping up around the U.S. which is nice. Since I didn’t spend more than about 15 minutes here my review is not as thorough as others might be. A solid selection of games overall and decent prices for them. The one exception was the baseball game shown here. This was a staple of my childhood and I can recall playing dozens of times. I wish the price was a little lower here as $1 for three outs seems relatively step compared to other options, though it is somewhat understandable as it has a range of physical components requiring upkeep. Overall the place is still worth going to.

Fun place with some great pinball machines. The bartenders had great specials going on for cheap drinks and we were able to drink and play pinball for over an hour for $12. Can’t beat that at all. I always am about helping out small businesses but I dont let other people get hurt either. Theyre owner should be ashamed of her staff.

Cool arcade games reminiscent of the Ronald Reagan administration. They have the most important speed runner game of all time, Hydrothunder. They also have billiards thats only $1 a game. Stays open late, 4am on some nights so after you get lit at the Tree House you can come here to have a very 6.2 out of 10 experience to end your night, kind of like going to a drive thru dairy queen at 10pm after a college night class. Anyways, the food was absolutely awful. We paid $6 for a hotdog that tasted like it was cooked by a 6 year old in their easy bake oven. Whatever you do, if you are from ireland drinking a couple pints before 10am or a local savannah resident who knows every food and beverage establishment in chatham county...do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT eat the hotdogs.

First the good:All of the food I tried was very good. The drinks were cheap. The service was good. There is a good selection of old arcade games from the early 2000s to the 1980s. They also have pinball, ski ball, air hockey, and pool. Now for the bad:The games cost $.50-$1/credit. This is pretty high for some games like Ms. Pacman. A few of the game machines have a dollar reader. Many accept quarters only. The night we went, the atm was down, so my wife had to go somewhere else to bring back money. The quarter machine was down, so we got $2 in quarters from the bartenders. When we needed more quarters, the bartenders were out of quarters. We were unable to play the games. The Portal needs to figure out a better way to handle paying for games like 1) installing more dollar readers, 2) ensuring more than one change/token machine is on site and functional, or 3) upgrading to card readers on all machines.
