My sister purchased a car online, and had it delivered to the Savannah location. The purchase process is very detailed. We started out test driving the vehicle and met with a salesman; next the paperwork was signed with another sales team member; then, it was on to the delivery department with another team member. They brought the vehicle around, it had been washed and vacuumed, complete with a yellow π bow (that is just displayed for photo op purposes). All together, the process took about 3 hours. I love that Car Max has a 30-day return policy within a limited set of miles. Inventory appears limitless.... free delivery to the nearest dealership. Im thinking about buying my next vehicle thru CARMAX.... well see!
I purchased a vehicle a few years ago and was pleased with that experience. However, my opinion has taken a turn about the Savannah store. The vehicle I purchased had 20 inch tires which I knew where harder to come by so I specifically asked my sales person to check and have the garage look to make sure I had a 20 inch spare. I was assured that there was. WRONG. I am now driving with 1 17 inch tire and 3 20 inch tires. Kind of scary. I am having to wait 3 to 5 days for a tire. If you purchase from them just double check every detail before you sign.
We had received a quote on my Toyota Avalon for a trade in at a dealership. We decided to try CarMax and received an on line quote which the CarMax dealer agreed to. It was higher than the dealership offer and hassle free. The people at CarMax were friendly and very professional. I would use them again

My experience with CarMax was great from the time I entered the showroom; I ran into one of the car care guys name Wayne. He wasnt a salesman but he was pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. He noticed me and my wife looking at the car we eventually purchased and unlocked it, let us hear it run and found us a salesman that help seal the deal. The salesman Destin was just as pleasant and knowledgeable as Wayne and assisted us through the process. The no hassle process was quite refreshing and we have become satisfied customers.
My wife and I went to this Car Max on 4/24/2021 to get a new car. Our sales associate, Beth Lawrence, was absolutely wonderful. She really deserves an award for how great she was with us. Beth went out of her way to take care of something complicated with our old vehicle to trade in and she made everything work for us so smoothly. Beth was so professional, respectful, and also personable. We felt like we were working with someone who actually cared about us being happy with our purchase, and not just wanting a sale. On 9/24 I paid $599 to have a car shipped to Savannah, the car arrived on 10/8 and I was told it would be ready to purchase on 10/15. I called on 10/14 and was told it would be ready the next day, I called back the next day and they told me they were waiting on a part and it would be ready 10/19. I called again on 10/19 and the part was ordered but it wonβt be here till 10/25. Thatβs a whole month waiting for a car and the only way Iβm finding all these things out is because I called, no oneβs keeping me informed and I have to talk to 3 different people every time I call just to get the correct information.
The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 is they sold the car I had on hold to come look at. But, it was an amazingly positive experience outside of that. Jimmy helped get me into a newer car, less miles, and comparable price. Loved CarMaxβs integrity and helpfulness

I am very upset at a recent experience with the Savannah CarMax. I reserved a car the evening 10/16 for a test drive at 5:30 pm 10/17. On 10/17 I called CarMax to verify my appointment and let them know I could arrive one hour earlier and would be interested in a 24 hour test drive, to make sure I had the documents I would need. They adjusted my appointment to show I could be there at 4:30 pm and I arrived at 4:15 pm. Upon arrival, they then told me the sold the vehicle because it was 30 minutes after my appointment time and someone was in store wanting to purchase. Theres no way this could be true because I was there before my appointment and the jeep was already gone for repairs for the new owner. The vehicle still shows up as reserved in my appointments, which is even more frustrating. I am very upset at the inconvenience of taking off work and driving 52 minutes each way for them to not honor an existing reservation. Also the fact that I spoke with someone at CarMax last night and twice today to confirm my appointment.... I will not do business with CarMax if this is how operations are handled. Its a shame because we need a vehicle and this would have worked great with our work schedules to have appointments.Update. We are now being told it sold within 30 minutes of us reserving it, so they couldnt stop the sale. In that case, why did I speak with three different people who never told me that? Why is it still being held in my account? Even worse honestly.

I bought a car in June and yet to receive my tag the business office when called i waited almost an hour for them to tell me they had problems registering ok fine went and got extension for temp tag which is about to expire again and yet still no tag and no one still cant say why its not registered yet. I will never buy another car from them again all they care about is making their numbers for the day could care less about the customers.

Zero pressure and 100% transparency. Had a car transferred, the transfer hit a delay, and they refunded my transfer fee for the inconvenience. Still got the car. Ive gotten three cars from CarMax; with all three I went to a new dealership first, only to experience bizarre time-consuming sales tacticsβ¦CarMax is like buying a pair of shoes. Try some on at the store, and when you find something, you buy it for the price listed. End of story. I love having my time and energy respected. Even if you dont buy from here its a great place to see a variety of cars in the same day without pressure.

Everything at the visit was great. It only took two hours to go through the process of selling my car and the offer was more that anyone else. HOWEVER. Two days later I get a power of attorney form in the mail that has to be signed by me and my husband. We dont live in the same state as he is on a travel assignment. He flew in that Sunday just to sign for the sale and we were told everything was taken care of. Now no one will answer the phone in the Savannah, GA business office nor will they return my voicemail. The call center is not helping me either saying I should pay to sent this to my husband. This was not my mistake and I will not pay for it. Carmax could have the opportunity to make it right if they would answer the phone. A five star review quickly fell once we walked out the door.

It started with an online rep. She took my information and got me approved. She made everything easy and simple. When I went in to pick up my car the rep at the store was also awesome. I got the car I wanted and at a rate and payment I could handle. The whole experience was smooth and I did not feel pressured to choose a car like how some dealerships can make you feel.
CarMax may have good cars for a reasonable price but thatβs no excuse to chump on the customer service! I have been waiting for 15 minutes to pay my note and thereβs a guy in there just standing around drinking a Mountain Dew! This has to be a joke!! The car selection is the ONLY reason they get 4 stars!!!
From the sales team to the business team this was the worst car buying experience I ever had. The sales team was not knowledgeable enough to make the sale go smoothly. Then when the car was finally purchased I couldnβt drive it for a month because the tags were expired and the dealership didnβt get the tag like they were supposed to and the business team didnβt care not one bit. All they care about are numbers here not customers . No customer service at all.
Went to sell a car and it took about an hour to complete. I had complicated paperwork that I didnt want to have to go to the DMV. They handled the paperwork right on the spot and paid the appraisal price I received online. It was a big help to me to be able to sell the car and have the paperwork take place the way it was handled.

Never been to a CarMax before. Made my appointment for a test drive. The car that I was considering purchasing came out absolutely dirty with old half eaten food inside. π€ The level of customer service made me feel like. Its Just a job to say hello to me. Honestly, purchasing even a used vehicle you should still receive a level of welcoming. Even if its at a self-serving dealership.

The ladies working at the entrance of the service center are rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Calling doesnβt help either because they intentionally leave you on hold until you decide to hang up. Iβve been on hold as I type for 30 minutes now. If I go back in there ignorant and belligerent I wonβt feel bad. I hope theyβre readyπ€ so tired of playing nice with these businesses that get your money and donβt have customer service.

We purchased a car and about 4 months later it needed a new engine. I called Carmax to fix it and they sent me to a local Ford auto shop. The said we still had a warranty but we found out our warranty expired. Thank God for the power train warranty or we would have been paying out of pocket. The crazy thing is they fixed the car and as I was leaving the check engine life came on again and we had to put it back in the shop.. This car has been a money pit since we put it.

No one was attentive to you when you come in. I had my car picked out and while there was a bunch of people working there, they just to seem to.want to talk to each other. There was maybe 8 to 10 people there but I saw at least 7 -8 just not doing anything productive in my opinion. After about 25 -30 minutes, I got to see.someone and maybe another 30 minutes got to see my car. Once that happened things went more smoothly. I got through the paperwork and out of there in about another 20-30 minutes. The whole thing took.maybe an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours

I was interested in purchasing a mustang they had just gotten in . Guy said he would call me when it was available for purchase. Never did . I got on Carvana and purchased a nicer mustang with less miles for about the same price. Carvana did a better job.
If youre looking for a car just come here. They have the largest inventory and they are real people ready and Vailable to help. Although they may have a wait you can always go to carmax.com or their app while waiting to look at the inventory, the process is quick and painless. I worked with Veronique and would do it all over again. She stuck with me and helped me find what I wanted and when I say my car is everything I looked for from miles, to price, to look, and monthly payment I couldnt have asked for a better sales rep. Shes now family, we wont allow anyone else to help us with purchases. Shes got customers at Carmax for life.

My experience was not as good as the first time, when I purchased my Lincoln MK-S. The Sale person was not knowledgeable of the buying process or the vehicle they were selling. The Vehicle have some issues; bakes/roto is shaking when breaking, raddling noises from the engine and has been in an accident. The damage to the vehicle does not occurred on the CarMax report. (No Car Fax). Just the CarMax report that does not tell what the damage really was to the vehicle. CarMax will not repair any damages unless the vehicle is purchased. But, The vehicle is being sole on a as is purchase agreement. Thank GOD they have a 30 return policy.

I got an appraisal done, and Carmax offered $3k more than KBB for our truck that we were trading in. We were hoping to just get what we owed on it, so we were pretty happy they offered more. Unfortunately we had purchased it from Carsmart in Garden City, and the guy, Kevin, pulled some shady tricks and sold us this truck while concealing problems with it and we ended up dumping a lot of money into it. It got too overwhelming to handle, so we decided to trade it in. We searched a lot for a couple weeks before coming to Carmax.While we waited to be helped we looked around the lot. We had 2 girls help us, Juliet and Makayla (*sorry if I spelled it wrong).Juliet seemed a little rushed and not so friendly. We had 2 trucks we wanted to test drive and she tried to get us only to test drive 1. Thankfully my husband let her know we really needed to test drive the other, which my husband said she didnt seem too happy about. We ended up wanting the 2nd one we test drove, a Ram 1500. Her shift ended and we were handed off to Makayla*.Makayla* was super friendly and helpful. She stayed almost an hour past closing and didnt make us feel rushed at all. She was patient with us, we had our own financing and someone at our bank didnt know what they were doing, so that took some time.Then we were passed to Jenne for signing the paperwork. She was also very friendly and we chatted. We found out we only live 1 street away from each other.All in all, it was a good experience, we just wish it didnt take 5 hours. And during that whole time, no one offered us any water. I also hadnt had anything to eat all day. Im a diabetic and my sugar was getting low. I had to ask, but was told there was no more water and was directed to some machines. FYI Those machines hold $5 on your card each time you swipe, then the drinks cost $1.70 once its no longer pending.Were really happy with our new truck. Especially since it has a 3yr/36k mi warranty! Its a huge weight lifted from our shoulders to know we have a dependable and safe vehicle where we dont have to worry about constantly putting it in the shop.
I purchased a car from Carmax about three weeks ago and I can say that this has been the worst experience I have ever had. This is our third vehicle that we have purchased from Carmax in Savannah and I will say it will be our last! First we went online and did the whole process had the car shipped here to the store in Savannah. Scheduled an appointment to go to the sore to get paperwork signed and what should have been a quick process took us over five hours plus. After leaving that night I was done. So we really didnt have a chance to look over the car for any damages. My husband clean the car a few days laters and we found scratches on the car as well. Called back talk to service manager. to schedule an appointment to have the sunroof screen replaced I asked about having the scratched fixed. The service manager said he could have some one buff the car (I knew that was not going to work) told him that my husband had already done that..The manager Shanna or Shannon had me go back to the service dept. and said there was a paint guy that comes out on Thursday and he would take care of it he was great. Ok, waited for about two and brought car in and got a call from the service dept. that there was nothing there paint guy could do the entire hood needed to be painted. Long story short, I have been trying to reach the Manager that was certain that the paint guy would take care of this and she has not returned my call. I have called the store several times and left message for her, I have not received a call back yet I. am paying too much for a car that I should not have to pay out of my pocket to have repainted. MAKE SURE YOU INSPECT YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU PURCHASE!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

My husband and I purchased a Mercedes GLC 300 Coupe on Sunday. We paid the 199 fee to be brought in to the Savannah lot. My husband did the paperwork early for an easier in store experience. We got there, saw that the car was already on the side, with a huge bow on it. Ready to Go. We were taken back to see the vehicle, just to check it. I noticed in the photos online, there were some smudges and things that needed to be cleaned. A simple wipe down with leather wipes, a vac out, and wash of the exterior (from being on a truck to be shipped) were needed. So...this is how it went down. I open the doors, check the obvious spots, a spill was made in the console from the previous owner (which was seen in the photos) smudges on the seats, crumbs in the seats, raisins along with dirt, dust were inside the doors. No biggie, right? Anyone can clean the interior of a vehicle. The exterior, after being told, it was washed...the rims had residue from the tire shine that was used, had dripped down onto them. The tires themselves werent washed...just the fronts. With tire shine. The vehicle looked as if it was taken right off the truck, dry wiped, some tire shine on, and what appeared to be a vac with an invisible vacuum and slapped a bow on it. After us mentioning it to them, we were told they do not have the means of detailing the vehicle, but we could have it done ourselves and bring in the receipt for up to 50 bucks. I just told my husband, no worries, I would do it myself. I would atleast know it was cleaned, no waste of the money. We waited over an hour and half, for paperwork to be pulled up so it could be signed. The employee that handled that, walked past us 3 times while on a personal phone call, walked outside for 3 extended periods of time, then came in, as my husband was asking what was taking so long. She spoke over him, what seemed to be an attempt to shush him. Then told us it only took 7 mins for the paperwork to be printed out. What really seemed the priority wasnt the customer, but her personal phone call. It took all of 10 mins to get the signatures, and additional 5 for copies. Sooo....why were we sitting there for over an hour and half?? We finally leave...only to get 3/4 of the way home to have the tire pressure light come on. Ok...no biggie right? Then to see the car had no gas cap. We were told, that the car was made with no gas cap. WRONG!!! And today, which is Wed, the engine light comes on. Hmmm.....I suppose thats suppose to happen, huh? Probably due to the missing gas cap. We were told, after asking about scheduling an apt for the oil change, they had no idea when the last one was done. I would imagine if you had no knowledge of that, to inform your buyer, that your service department would do a maintenance check and recheck to have the vehicle in great standings when it was driven off the lot. Im not a car saleman nor a mechanic...but I really dont see how this business is still running. See...I would be completely embarrassed if it were my business to have these minor issues come up after someone just purchased a 50k vehicle from my lot. This is no facebook marketplace $2,500 car purchase..heck even then some people make it a priority to have the car they are selling to detail it, wash it, and make sure any service that needs to be done...DONE. SO...NOW...tomorrow, I have to cancel the things I needed to do, to make sure Im there at 10am...to have what shouldve been done, checked out. Because we are loyal, we have purchased 3 vehicles from them in the past. But this will BE our LAST. I would rather pay 20k more for the vehicle at another dealership, whom Im positive would make sure whatever they are selling is at the upmost side of perfection vs pulling it off the truck, slapping some tire shine on it, maybe using a dustbuster in it, with a dry cloth wash...to a Im not sure when the oil was changed last. I hope and pray Im not sitting there for 6 hours tomorrow, and Yes..Carmax of Savannah..I will be there, bright and shiny at 10am to yet again to fix issues 4 days after purchase.
I spent 2 hours going through the process of purchasing a car, just to have them unapologetically inform me that they had made a mistake on the mileage reading so the sale could not be completed. Waste of time. Badly run business.

We had looked online and picked out a vehicle already, so the whole process took less than an hour once we arrived. I will definitely be dealing with CarMax again. I recently got my new car from Car Max- itβs a great car and it runs very well. The sales agent was awesome. The business office not so much. Each time I was at car max I was there for 4-5 hours minimum. The paperwork alone took close to 3-4 hours. Itβs been 3 weeks and Iβm still waiting on my registration and for my trade in car to be paid for to the loan company. I called for an update on my paperwork on Friday and was told it had just been approved. It takes 2 almost 3 weeks to send my information the Savannah DMV? How is that possible.. meanwhile my credit dropped 15 points due to the delay in payment for the traded in vehicle. The experience wasnβt horrible but thereβs so many employees and people running around that the LITTLE things should be no brainers and definitely shouldnβt take 3 weeks. I was also suppose to have my car cleaned for a smell because when I received my vehicle it wasnβt clean inside and it had a horrendous odor. When I did call to try and get that scheduled I was told that they had been waiting for me to call even tho I was told theyβd call me. I was also told I had to leave my car for the entire day and would not be provided a rental but that someone may be able to provide a ride to my job and then come get me an so forth. I ended up cleaning my own car and taking it to be physically cleaned for detail work. I would recommend but you definitely need to make sure you have patience and explain EXACTLY what YOU want- be short, straight to the point and direct.

Purchased a vehicle today. Car came from out of town. Condition of the interior was not up to par. Seats were dirty. Panel on passenger side had food or smug on it. My wife pointed those out on the test drive. I told the associate Eboni what the discrepancies were. She told me they just clean the interior and exterior. They were short staff so they probably would rush but she would tell them. She said they would reinburse me if I took it to get detailed. But other than the cleanliness of the SUV the experience was good. I even had to leave with my family and we didnt wait long after returning. She was considerate of my small babies having to wait too long.Definitely get some more bodies for the detailing crew. The last vehicle I purchased from Carmax was spot less.
Amazing experience. Originally got a 2013 Nissan Rogue thinking I wouldnβt get approved for something newer. I wasnβt satisfied with the car so I reached out to Joseph and him and the manager helped get me into a 2017 Hyundai Tucson that I absolutely love. Joseph was amazing and very helpful.

Easiest Car buying experience ever! Jade greeted me when I walked through the doors and she was perfectly amazing through the entire buying process. Super knowledgeable about every detail. Even went out in the rain to bring my car inside and was smiling the whole way. Kim in the finance department handled the signing and paperwork. She was fun and professional all at the same time. From the time I walked in until I drove away, I felt confident working with both of these women. I cant say that happens often when when purchasing a car. Everything was done in less then an hour. They are very slow here. If you have all day to wait to be seen then hereβs the place to go. We waited nearly 2 1/2 to be told to come back another day and there were hardly any customers.

With in two days the car came and when we went to pick up the car she made sure we i knew what to bring and that also took under 30 mins to do all the paperwork, along with making sure the car was clean and had a full tank of gas.
Shouldnβt even give any star salespeople might as well be employed at McDonaldβs, found car we wanted but since they said money was not in my account even though bank president assured them check was covered by bank ( going to bank to sign papers in morning) they did not consider funds verified. Have enough cash in bank to buy all the cars they have but never again will I even visit their lot, needless to say went 200 yard down the road and found same deal with no issues

Great experience, a car we were told would be a challenge to find, was located and brought in to our local CarMax. It was a decent price and our salesman Richard was great to work with. The few minor issues I brought to their attention was taken care of immediately at the CarMax service center most convenient to me. I cant say enough about the service I received at the service center, I will definitely be using them in the future for all my car needs.
The customer service was awesome. When I got to carmax. The process was smooth from start to finish, they answered all my questions. Everybody treated me like I was giving them a million dollars. Definitely referring my friends to go here.

Great cars, sales not to bad but service could use a lot of work. Car had two key fobs, one didnβt work but didnβt know until a week later. They replaced the one key fob but now there is a delay to lock the door and they say thereβs nothing they can do about it. Did they not look the car over when they bought it? I would think that would have been the first thing noticed when looking the car over.
Van was in super shape. Even engine was clean. And I had a full tank of gas when I picked it up! Who does that!!
I liked a Lexus ES350 and paid transportation cost to bring it to Savannah, GA. This car had everything I wanted (as was advertised on CarMax website) and I was excited. Upon purchasing the car I had difficulty with activating the Navigation system. I took it back to CarMAX to have this checked. The local service person discovered, to my horror, that the Navigation system was missing! It was never installed at the factory!What to do now? Somebody at CarMax HQ mis-specified the extras on this vehicle. What shocked me is not that a human error occurred, but the revolting response of KMX business managers to basically tell me: hey, that is how it is. Take it or leave it! KMX managers do not want to own up their mistakes.Luckily for CarMAX, the local staff have conscience, and have a concern for the customer, and were equally shocked. They helped me to find an alternative vehicle. Id have shopped elsewhere, but needed a vehicle quickly.Surely, Im not the first victim of this arrogance within CarMAX. Human errors happen. This arrogant vendor needs to scrub clean the vagaries of their internal business processes to insure that the customer does not suffer due to their internal process mistakes.So, CarMAX HQ business managers deserve zero.Local staff have earned **** (4 stars).Overall ~ 1.5 stars
We had the most impressive buying experience here today!! From the moment we walked in the door we were met with the most professional, friendly top notch service. We drove 7 hours to buy a truck we found online and everything was done when we got there. Even though the store was busy, Jay and Tyana treated us as if we were the only ones there and every employee we encountered acknowledged and spoke to us. In todayβs world its hard to find exceptional customer service but these guys are on top of their game!! Thanks Jay and Tyana youβre the BEST and made the drive worth every minute!!β€οΈ
Overall, our experience was great. We had two cars transferred to our location. The first one had a warning light displayed on the dash. Not sure why they would have a car available with obvious issues. The second vehicle we purchased! It had some cosmetic issues that were fixed upon request. The two gentlemen we worked with were both amazing and went out of their way to answer question. Two things that we were told happen and didnt are; gas tank would be filled (didnt notice until we got home, tank was just over half full) and we would receive a call to see how everything was about week after we took the van home. I would use and recommend CarMax.

Buying a car was great, they sold us a great car. We did ask about warranty stuff later on and the service department was rude and disrespectful. Wasnt anything major which is what made it worse. Ill go to another location to buy my next car.
Filled out all the applications and approved and had the car picked out three days before I went to the dealership. I still spent over two hours at the dealership because nothing was ready, paperwork and they didnβt have the car cleaned or ready. In fact the windows were the worst Iβve seen for a car that had been detailed after I had signed all the paperwork. Had to do them myself once I got home. I was at the dealership for over an hour before I ever even saw the car. Bad customer service. Everyone was friendly and treated me good but just poor service from a company that has such a good reputation. Lucky for them they had the one car I wanted in my price range.

I highly recommend Thomas Barrow as a sales associate.! Heβs friendly, personable and you can tell he actually cares. He patiently waited for me, He asked me what I was looking for took his time to help me find the perfect car with every feature I requested all under/ within my price range. GO SEE THOMAS B!My only issue is that the people responsible for cleaning and preparing the vehicle did a poor job. I found a bud light seltzer can under the seat and a chik fil a box with a moldy sandwich π₯΄.
