The store on Fruitville is by Far the worst store i have ever shopped at! Not only did 4 employees look at me at the deli counter they ignored me. I watched an employee wipe her nose with her gloved hand and continue to prepare food without changing glove!! Disgusting! We will never shop there again and i will tell everyone i know how disgusting this store and employees are!!This is NOT the first issue my family and i have had there! Going just across the street to Publix is worth the extra couple of minutes!

Went to the deli this morning and Barbara hooked me up with some great different cheeses. What an awesome lady. Ill be going back to get some other suggestions from her. Wish all employees were like her and no were not related. This morning was the first time that I met her.

Every time I stop I get overcharged...help is putting g items on wrong shelf tags!!!! If it doesnt fit where it goes you DONT put it somewhere else.....just got hit for an extra $10...wont go herd again EVER

The ONLY Winn-Dixie I will go to in Sarasota, even before there were not very many left. This location is always clean and employees are professional.

Clean store and pleasant staff. I would warn against using the self checkout. If a person is not paying attention, they will pay twice, maybe even four times over and over the same product which keeps saying remove from the bag and rescan after it was already scanned. I cannot help but believe it is a scam to trick those who are not as sharp and savvy or the elderly who believe they need to REscan an item already paid for.

This store is AMAZING!! All employees willing to help, no matter what! Incredible meats, seafood, produce, floral, specialty items. Winn Dixie thrives to please each and everyone of their customers with the best service around!! 30+ years as a faithful customer. And, opening up a new location in Lakewood Ranch. Truly, the BEST, all around!!

I find it ridiculous that 2:30 in the afternoon the women in seafood tells me she cant steam shrimp because steamer isnt on. I would think turning it on would be part of their opening duties. Truthfully, I think shejustdidnt want to bother. Fruitille Rd store needs good cleaning looks tired and old.Also, very inconvenient to have to go pay for seafood before they will steam it & bring them receipt.

Its a grocery store with good deals. They have to considering they are competing with Publix across the street. There is a deli, bakery, etc. I think the place could be organized better along with a renovations or clean up. I hate self check out options as well so hopefully they stay away from that because I do. This will serve your grocery needs if you live in the area.

Less than helpful. I have been shopping here for some time and have found customer service non existent. For example today I was looking for dried chiles after trying to get the attention of a gentleman stalking the shelves for some assistance locating the chiles he strait up ignored me and kept doing what he was doing as if I didnt exist. So I moved on found two more employees one had no idea what a dried pepper was the other simply said if we had them they would be in produce. Needless to say they werent in produce ended up leaving and going to Publix. As much as I dislike shopping at publix after their insane response to covid at least I was able to get everything on my list without any problems. Thank you winn dixie for such great customer service!!!

Do not use self service, the machines will yell at you for doing what youre supposed to do and put you things in the cart because there is no room to LEAVE THE ITEMS IN THE BAGGAGE AREA!!!!!!!!!!!. and then Donna yells at you for doing it wrong. Offered no assistance just completely rude.

According to Google all of your Sarasota stores are open today (Thanksgiving Day) but upon arrival at the store to pick up some last minute items I was upset to find the store to be closed! All the other supermarkets in the area had accurate, up-to-date information on the internet about being closed, except for Winn Dixie! There were at least 4 dozen other angry customers besides me outside the Fruitville Rd. store due to your inability to provide customers with accurate information. Theres a reason I stopped shopping at Winn Dixie, and this just reinforces my disdain for Winn Dixie and their constant unproffesionalism!***I have no issue with Winn Dixie being closed on Thanksgiving Day so their employees can enjoy the holiday... I think that is wonderful. My issue is Winn Dixies inability to provide customers with valid and pertinent information regarding operating hours!***swShame on you, this is why you have to keep closing stores in Sarasota!

Stopped in to pick up a couple items but I could tell right away that I wanted to come back soon! My first impression was my jaw dropping and thinking Wow! Now, this is a real grocery store! Cant wait to take my husband shopping there and show him the difference. Store was fabulous and staff was friendly and helpful.

Customer Service counter is usually un-manned. When they do show up they are slow and busy talking to their coworkers and the customer is just a distraction to their conversation. I am sure that is a factor why WD is in bankruptcy. The staff there act like they work for a bankrupt company, they dont care.

Shayne (lady w/ glasses and fantastic hair) is the sweetest lady who works there. She is SO fun to talk to every time I see her. I work over in Target inside Starbucks and shes one of my absolute favorite regulars! She always brightens my day with her sassy and cheerful attitude. She gives Winn Dixie a great name. Rating is for produce section. Store looks nice big and clean, customer service is fine but when you pay attention they have very few perishable vegetables various kinds of leafy greens, organic and regular lettuces, etc. so most of that very nice big clean store is processed food. I guess they are telling me to take my dollars to whole foods which is not far away. Perhaps the produce manager doesnt actually eat produce.

Cynthia back in the Deli is so helpful and was able to educate me regarding ingredients used in the different brands of sandwich meats. I have been going to this store for a while and this is the first time somebody actually notices what I was buying and recommended a cheese to complement what she was slicing for me. Great personality she is a keeper unlike a lady Candice who was simply rude. Mr Jeanette helped me also today in flora and Ms Joy checked me out. I never take surveys so yall have Cynthia to thank... I will continue to come back..

Prescriptions for many different medicines can be filled here at a very reasonable price with Winn-Dixies prescription discount program. The pharmacist at this location is extremely knowledgeable, patient, thorough with explanations, and goes to great lengths to ensure excellence of customer service. The pharmacy technicians are also extremely professional and make for a pleasant experience every time.

LOVE the staff! Wonderful people and the store is always clean, little to no wait checking out .BUT recently (last few months) the food quality has been poor.Now if I do shop here, I make sure to triple check expiration dates, smell test meat and I refuse to buy produce. Its sad because I love this store, but I have to convince myself to shop here anymore.

Went for a walk and included Winn-Dixie on Fruitville Rd. Picked up some items, mostly produce. I have to say, their produce section is very impressive. I feel good being there which makes shopping more pleasant and I dont like to shop. Their store is very clean and organized. Well done, WD!

Usually get good stuff from here, but there was a bug in our cauliflower. They shouldve cleaned it more throughly. However, since this is the first time this has happened, Ill give them 4 stars as they usually have quality food and a great selection. They are pricey for some items, however. Other items are fairly cheap, though.

Very hard to find employees to ask questions and none that I talked to are willing to show you where anything is. The best theyll do is an aisle number. I finally for one to show me, but I had to explain that I had searched the store. Turns out, she had to ask someone else.

Splendid prices for everyday items. They are running out of baggers, but they are hiring for more people. Great selection of products and many things on sale.

Wanda the liquor store clerk is the most helpful woman I have ever seen in there. She always helps out with deals and makes sure you get/use your Winn Dixie points.

They have amazing food. Best service, very polite and respectful. Its very clean especially the bathrooms. Everything that you need can be found here and its very easy to find. Very impressed.

The Winn Dixies Ive gone to in the past were disorganized and smelled badly. This one was clean, well organized. The food was fresh and the prices were reasonable. We will return.

All of the workers work very hard to keep the shelfs stocked and are very helpful to guide you to the area to find what youre looking for all the departments are very helpful.I love shopping here.I highly recommend this store. Great management.👏

Clean but lacking a good variety of basic vegetables and basics not enough organics

This store looks nice physically but was a terrible and I do mean terrible shopping experience for a vegan. I have never seen sension anti-vegan supermarket chain in my life. Absolutely pathetic I will never go back to a Winn-Dixie. The other Supermarket chains in the area have a decent supply of vegan items while this one had practically none it didnt even have any of the standards that are in all the other stores their inventory was slim to none for vegan food options.

My daughters favorite grocery store. Good prices, clean store, friendly employees, and I switched to there pharmacy because it right by my and surprisingly I recieved a $20 Winn Dixie gift card for every medication I transferred over. SCORE!

EDIT: Well, theyre back to having a warming station for the chicken that is ENTIRELY TOO HOT. Chicken is dry if you dont get it within a few minutes, bones break easily due to being overheated. Wings quickly deteriorate into sand paper. Not sure what happened, everything was great a year or so ago.This is the best Winn Dixie I have ever been to. My favorite thing is their wing bar, they had issues with it previously with constantly dry overcooked wings but it seems they have corrected this and they are almost always good now. If you havent had their wings you MUST try them.

People working there could be friendlier, and not assume that anybody using the auto teller are doing it wrong!

Perfect Winn Dixie! All departments were clean from view, displays were dependable. Management and employees were very friendly and accommodating. This store has a great variety of quick dinner ideas. Unlike some other Winn Dixies, this one even includes a sushi section in their kitchen/sea food dept.

This Winn Dixie is right near the drycleaners I work at on Fruitville, So having to grab lunch or something is super convenient. The only thing I dont like is how picky the self-checkout computers are. lol

Superb customer service. the staff member in the fish department was fabulous, he gave some wonderful ideas about cooking shellfish and other fish in the oven and on the grill.

They are closing the store closest to my house and this store is now closest. I have always preferred this store to mine. Cleaner, friendlier, more stock AND this manager puts enough people on. Love this store

They went out of their way for me today.. the other day a produce man went out of his way to help me find every item I needed to make homemade salsa .. they are really turning this around to be better then Publix.. oh my gosh the family meal in the deli blows away the Publix family meal!!!

Largest area WD with huge beer & wine selection, bakery, hot food deli, flowers, pharmacy and complimentary coffee area.They do a good job, but may not be in tune to what unique grocery items are desired for the area demographics.Located in a large plaza with good shopping... Target, the real dollar store, Sallys and others.

This Winn Dixie is one of the best around Sarasota. The Service Desk staff and cashiers are always so nice and friendly. Sales compete well with Publix. I enjoyed shopping here while living in nearby apartments. it was nice to just walk over to buy some items. In fact, this WD store is the only thing that I will miss in Fruitville!. My new home does not have a close Winn Dixie but I will shop only in this location when I am in the area.Oh, and thank you for enforcing health regulations that require wearing shoes in a food store! Bare feet can drive away customers that would otherwise have to line their shopping carts with sales ads!

Always clean and well-stocked your run-of-the-mill Winn-Dixie however we had an unusual experience at the deli counter. Theres a man working at that give us the best customer service we had ever received he let us sample some of the different things and made suggestions that helped us with our order its hard to say it in words but there was such a good energy and such a caring nature and kind of about this man that really says a lot for the company

I love the new LOW prices. Bogo still great but sometimes I dont need 2, so the new low prices on just one item is great. The meat department offers very good prices all the time, not like a popular grocery store in Sarasota that I wont mention the name. I will be shopping more at Winn Dixie now! Gas points also nice. Only wish more of a choice of gas stations. Clean store with friendly people!

I found this to be one of the nicer Winn-Dixie is Ive ever been in there Deli Bakery and fresh produce areas were very inviting. The rest of the store seemed more typical and you still need to watch your prices and compare because some items were higher and some lower then Publix prices. I was pleased they also carried some items I had not found at Publix previously. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you havent been in a Winn-Dixie lately.

A big winn Dixie in comparison to others. Always have great deals which happen weekly. The deli girls are awesome they know my fiancee personally an always greet us in a friendly manner. In comparison to the old winn Dixie by 17th this is a major upgrade in many ways!
