The Apple Core in Sarasota has been and will continue to be my favorite shop for all things Apple. I have been an Apple user since the 1980s and i most likely will never use any other product. Most recently I had an issue with the Mac Book Air and when I took it into Nicks shop, I received immediate service. Nick spoke with me and I was able to explain the difficulty. He immediately suggested that I leave the computer overnight so that he could see to the repair. He gave me estimated costs and the different scenarios that might be expected. Fortunately for me Nick was able to repair my computer during the evening and I was able to pick it up the very next day! The cost was extremely reasonable especially with such rapid service! All is working extremely well now. I believe that Nick went above and beyond when working on my computer. I am SO GRATEFUL!!! Thank you, Nick!

I took in my HP Notebook to be repaired because my computer was running slow due to a corrupted Windows update. Upon entry the display counter there the SSD hard drive on an open mother board. Spoke to the technician and I left my computer there with them. I don’t hear from them for days and when I go in to pick up my computer, I find out that either the owner or employees decided to switch out the amount of storage from 1 TB HD to 500GB SSD the same one of the display. My repair bill was $630. I had a few app reinstalled however my computer stalled and the programs freeze. I requested on several occasions for them to replace the hard drive to the original size and they wanted to charge me another $250. Nick Nimey the owner, stated my repair should have cost much more and he attempted to sell me an external 500GB hard drive for $200. He stated, that I wouldn’t need a 1 TB hard drive. My original computer cost $500 with 1TB at Best buy a few years back and my repaired computer was $630 for a 500GB plus another $200 if I would buy the external hard drive.I returned several occasions requesting to have my hard disc replaced to original size. One of those occasions a phone call from a client with the owner had the same issue with his repair where his cost was over $1000 and his hard drive space was also reduced to half.Going forward, on the invoice show the hard drive size of the customer when received and also show the size of the replacement SSD hard drive. Please tell your employees to give an estimate for the repair cost prior to conducting the repair, and to also give a status update occasionally. It would help with your customer service which clearly seems to be lacking in this area. Return devices in the same way they are brought in. It seems that this business pushes computer hard drive sales more than a computer repair. If there are tasks that are beyond your level, either ask for help from your peers or don’t take on the service. You nor your employees decide for us (clients) how much hard drive space we want in our computers!

I was having a problem with my 2018 MacBook Pro that another local Mac shop wasn’t able to successfully fix after a couple of times in the shop. Thought it was likely an expensive hard drive issue. Brought it to The Apple Core and they fixed the non-hardware issue right the first time and even cleaned up some buildup from a keyboard protector that was stubbornly on the screen which I wasn’t able to remove. Very pleased and will take my Apple products here first the next time!

Called them and asked if they sell new IPHONES, was told yes.In the shop, I was shown an Apple 11 Mac Pro.Again, I asked if this was new, salesman said “ yes, new out of box “.I noticed the frames finish was damaged, again, I asked if new. This time the salesman said that a customer returned it, but it had been refurbished.I wanted to give a locally owned business my business, but I won’t because of the deceptive sales practice

After my iphone mysteriously died, the guys at The Apple Core were able to diagnose the issue and repair the phone within 30 minutes. Unfortunately the repair didnt last and required a return visit, which they immediately addressed. Ive relied on this company several times over the last five years for all my computer servicing and upgrades. They are professional, fully disclosed their pricing, meet their estimates for repair time and are honest....Highly Recommend.

Brutal experience. They told me they could fix my device after I sent a detailed description and pictures via email. I dropped it off and hear nothing for 5 days until I had to call them. Then they quoted me a price that was higher than it cost to buy a new one. Their response was “sorry that’s what the owner said the price is”... because that’s helpful. I declined service and said I would be in to pick it up next day. I showed up and they gave it back to me in pieces! I asked for it to be put back together and they said no one there could do it and they brought me out tools to do it myself!In short, terrible service and high prices stay far away!

I could not speak more highly about the support and service I received from Severo Rivera at Apple Core. He had helped my wife with several issues successfully last year so upon her recommendation Severo upgraded/transferred all my info / applications from my 8 year old iMac to a new M1 mini. He then helped one-on-one to clean up and train me on aspects of the new machine, plus gave good (but no pressure) advice on upgrading my backup disk drive and keyboard. I very highly recommend Severo and Apple Core.

My wife spilled water on our MacBook Pro and Nicholas Niney at Apple Core did a perfect job for us. The mother board and keyboard needed replace and he was able to find replaced parts and fix it cheaper than normal. Now we basically have a brand new computer but for half the price! We will definite Apple Core again in the future. Great, family-owned business!!

GF brought in Macbook Air. $289 later the issue was not resolved at all. Followed up w apple store appointment. The Genius resolved issue in less than 2 minutes--and even showed us a free download to help going forward. Should have went to apple from the start.

We had a MacBook that suddenly went dark. We first conferred with our son in Colorado, who runs a Mac repair company. He took us through several different restart attempts, all to no avail. We found Nick and The Apple Core online. Since the store is close to our house and the online reviews were quite glowing, we called and were told to stop by. Nick asked us a few questions, then said he could offer us expedited service, the small added cost we quickly approved. That was Monday morning.By late Monday afternoon, Nick called to say he was working on the machine and would need it until the next day. He called the next morning to say it was fixed! We picked up the MacBook later that day and it has worked flawlessly ever since. When our son heard what the repair entailed, he told us that most repair shops would not even attempt that type of repair, that it was a highly unusual situation normally requiring new parts and a lot more time to fix. Yet Nick accomplished it overnight with a couple of small new parts. We found his technical expertise to be nothing short of brilliant and his customer communications were proactive, clear, timely, empathetic and downright friendly. We strongly recommend Nick and The Apple Core to anyone in the Sarasota area. Stopped by Apple Core to inquire about replacing a 10 year old MacBook Pro. Nick listened to my requirements and explained the the best approach to meet my requirements in the most cost effective way. In about an hour Nick had a solution laid out that will serve my needs for years to come for much less expense. You wont find this creative thinking at the Apple Store! Within 24 hours I had a new MacBook Pro solution all set up with data transferred and updated from my 10 year old machine. Nick, Melissa and the Apple Core staff offer a friendly, pleasant, and most of all, customer focused experience. They are now my go-to computer shop! Nick saved my business. I rely heavily on computer operated machinery to build the products in my little factory. Sadly, those machines were designed to run on 20 year old PCs and they are breaking down. New parts are hard to find, but when I had a major PC breakdown in May, Nick and his team found the parts I needed and had my machines running again in hours.I have several close friends who repair computers for a living, but I would still recommend this place first.

Had a laptop that was 11 years old that the Apple store basically told me was no longer salvageable. It was in perfect physical condition though so after driving by the new Apple Core store I dropped in to see if anyone there could help. Everyone was so helpful and kind! They put in a new battery and updated the software so it had internet capabilities again for a fraction of the cost that I was quoted elsewhere! They fixed it in a less than one day and worked with me about updating the hard drive as well should I decide I want it to function faster! I was raised during the typewriter era and so the computer can be a bit intimidating to me at times. I cant ignore using it, however, because my career requires me to do so . Melissa and Nicholas empathized with me and set me up to stay within my budget and yet serve me effectively and efficiently. Nicholas came to my home promptly when my computer was hit with a virus and I needed to send in a draft of a manuscript to my editor that day. He showed me some tips on the computer that I am gratefully using almost daily. He also found that I was being charged for a service, by my carrier, that I was not even receiving. He followed through with that observation and I now save $1200.00 a year and have superior service by my carrier. I couldnt believe it! Kick has to be the most upstanding and honest person. Kick helped me out on a huge project and I was on a tight budget. He was flexible however did not let me fall into the big box store traps . The Apple Core did a great job recovering some very old files that I could no longer access from my old PC backup drive. They were up for the challenge and provided great service! Always extremely satisfied, no matter how easy or challenging the task.

I had an issue with my iPhone, phone wouldnt ring, I took it to Verizon although polite no help. They said my best shot was to drive to the Brandon Mall (1hr 15min) I went to the web found several possible businesses that might be able to help with my problem. Most of them had mixed reviews except Apple Core, theirs was pretty goodI showed up without an appointment. I was greeted by a nice young lady who asked to fill our some paper work and 10 minutes later I was explaining my problem to Nick the owner. A very pleasant guy by the way. He explained the options diagnosed the possible issues and said he had the parts. He backed up my phone and told met to come back in an 11/2 hr. I arrived a little early he said it was fixed. After moving and becoming a new resident of Sarasota, I was surprised to find out the nearest Apple Store is located in Tampa. My new I-Pad 3 Screen had just shattered and I was devastated. Thinking I would need to replace it at full cost, I stumbled across The Apple Core. This is one of the best finds and I am now a dedicated customer. After meeting Nick, he assured me that he would restore my I-Pad to its original condition, in a reasonable amount of time, at a reasonable cost. Of course, I was skeptical. The Hard drive on my Imac was way too small to handle all the pictures and videos we were gathering. Apple wouldn’t upgrade my Hard drive however The Apple Core came to the rescue. Nick replaced the existing internal hard drive with a new (and faster) Hybrid drive that now holds all of our stuff and has room to grow. Our computer runs so much faster now. Thanks so much Nick!!! Ive been twice, and it was a great experience each time. Their customer service is extremely friendly and their expertise on all things Apple and how to get the most bang for your buck is truly priceless. Mac repairs and parts arent inexpensive in general, but these guys undercut standard Apple company stores and services by a very wide margin. I had an older I-pad screen fixed. It was going crazy my finance was going to trash it. He went ahead and bought a new one. The Apple Core store fixed it and I gave it to my son for his Birthday!! Nick was able to remove 2 screws from my chromebook for me and mentioned he could put in a keyboard..I called the next day twice and left message and emailed with no response. Also, his wife working there was not very inviting/ friendly.

Id used Apple Core before and am comfortable returning. Its probably a year since I brought my old MacBook Pro in for servicing. The operating system needed replacing. Nick rebuilt and cleaned up my computer. I now enjoy lots of memory and computer speed. Should have written a review much earlier, but very satisfied.

I had a great experience at the Apple Core today! Matt and Nick (the owner) were super helpful and cured my iPad of a vexing issue that defied other solution finders. I highly recommend this local business. While I was there - another happy customer was completing her transaction and was so thrilled with her outcome that she insisted on paying more (in the form of a generous tip). These people are awesome. My computer was really slowing down. They fixed it and it works like new. Very pleasant and professional. To bad other business are not run as good as this one.

My wife spilled a full 16 oz cup of coffee directly on the keyboard of her MacBook Air. Still dripping with coffee I took it to Apple Core. Within a day I had it back. Totally took it apart and dried out the liquid spill. We did need to replace the keyboard, battery and track pad, as they were fried from the electrical short. But the mother board and hard drive were all OK. Less than half the price of another computer. These guys are GOOD!

I gave my PC her first shower, but she didnt like that. So I went to The Apple Core store expecting the normal story that my PC is irreparable and that they can (of course) sell me a new one. But no... they repaired my PC within 48 hours! Perfect!

Mylissa was very helpful and efficient in helping me with my iPhone problem. I dropped my phone off in the morning, and it was ready and working again within 5 hours. She was friendly, helpful and very capable. Repair cost was also very reasonable. We will definitely come back to The Apple Core for any future problems. Wonderful customer service!

Woke up this AM with a nightmare. My Apple air was dead. All my files for my daughters upcoming wedding were on it.Went to the Apple store in Coconut Point in panic.They asked if I had an appointment and I said no. Next appointment was 5 days away. I heard about a place in Sarasota and drove there right away. I have a new friend today . I meet Nicholas . He said it may be the mother board.When he opened it up he was able to fix it without changing the mother board. He could have lied to me and made a larger profit . I would have never known. He was friendly, honest and really knew his stuff.He saved my day and my pocket book . While I was waiting I started looking at tablets he had for sale. His prices were so good, I had to buy one and I did. It takes me a little longer to get there from Cape Coral than Coconut point, but now we know where we are going.

Absolutely 100% honesty and INTEGRITY in dealing with Nick, the owner at Apple Core. I had some minor water damage to my brand new iPad Mini 4 that was still under warranty. Instead of Nick charging me the normal cost for a new screen, which was still cheaper than sending it to Apple, Nick actually went to bat for me with Apple and was able to get Apple to send me a brand new device (not refurbished) that was shipped directly from Apple in China! Nick even made sure at no cost that Apple had the same engraving on the back as I had done on the original one. The cost everything was half of the price of having Nick simply put on a new screen. Nick could have EASILY made twice the amount of money on me and saved himself the hassle of spending a bunch of time on the phone with Apple to convince them to send me a brand new device. Its a very rare thing to find this level of integrity and customer service these days.

I came to The Apple Core after my iPhone X was severely damaged beyond repair and Nick took me in with open arms and assured me that I will be taken cared of and he did just that. I ended up getting a replacement phone in no time. I will be definitely coming to the store for all future apple products and repairs.

These guys know how to fix any problem and dont judge you for not knowing how to fix it yourself. They also dont try to sell you anything you dont need. Great product selection and prices and service. Go here first before anywhere else!

I walked in with a dead iPhone. Nick diagnosed it and fixed me up within 20 minutes. They were very open and very clear on what my options were. This is a very competent repair business.

Ive been a customer of The Apple Core for at least 5 years (iPhone 4 screen).Before I retired, I was a manager for global IT services for a Fortune 50 company. I owned the change management processes (ITIL) globally for the companies SAP systems. Prior to that I managed service management teams at tech centers and manufacturing sites, supporting work stations, software programs and both data and tele communications.The Apple Core has given excellent support, demonstrating superb customer support skills, high level knowledge of the products they support and very personable interaction with customers, even as they have grown.Recently, I needed help with some security (malware) issues and the team ran diagnostics and fixes remotely. Fantastic!Cant recommend them enough. Not just customer support, but customer satisfaction!

Went to The Apple Core for the first time to unload an older model IPad 2 and MacBook Pro 13. A lovely lady employee removed the hard drive from the laptop and gave it to me. Nick showed me on line the value of both products. A very friendly atmosphere. I will use them again in the future for my technical needs.

I have unfortunately had to visit Nick on more than one occasion (for different issues). Nick, the owner, is very knowledgeable and friendly. He went above and beyond to resolve my issues. His prices are more than fair compared to other repair shops in the area. I will only use nick for all of my computer problems. I do believe that he works on all Apple products, PCs and mobile devices.

Nic is the only person I have brought my computer, iPad, iPhone to that I complete trust in. No problem is too big for this Sherlock Holmes of computers. He is honest, patient and sincere. I have sent many people to him and they all are return customers. This is the highest praise.

Nick the person who worked on my PC is great! He installed a RTX Nvidia Geforce 8g 2070 to my computer and he did amazing. The graphics card couldnt fit into my case and my motherboard wouldnt be able to handle it so he shipped in a case and motherboard installed it along with taking all the other parts from my old pc and transferring to the new one and the computer works great for gaming and everything!

I needed a keyboard replaced on a macbook pro. Nick completed the job in a few hours and did an outstanding job! I would definitely recommend his service to anyone.

Update 22 March 2017 Sent this email at the first of March After multiple attempts of having our phone repaired at the store starting early Dec 2016, we still have an unusable iPhone and no reply from the Apple Core.Hey guys,About a week ago, we had our IPhone 5s in your shop for a battery replacement. If you recall, this is the same IPhone that we brought in at the beginning of December for a microphone issue, which took at least 3 visits to the store to get the issue resolved. When we got the phone back, it wouldnt take a charge... an issue that was not present prior to having it worked on at your shop. You told us to bring the phone in to have it looked at and you decided that the battery did, indeed, need to be replaced. We appreciated your offer to replace the battery free of charge since it was an issue that arose while you were working on the phone.We picked up the phone last week and started using it a couple days ago... it appeared to be working just fine until today when, yet again, it would not take a charge.At this point, we are, again, stuck with a phone that will not work. We are beyond tired of driving to and from the shop in Sarasota (namely bc we live over a half hour away). We are spending a lot of time and gas money for an issue that wasnt even an issue before we brought it in to Apple Core. We realistically do not have the time to keep bringing the phone back and forth for diagnostics. Weve been doing that for the past three months. We originally brought the phone to Apple Core bc it was too expensive to just go out and get a new phone and we were hopeful that the microphone issue would be a quick and inexpensive fix. We are very disappointed that we now have spent $90 (not to mention gas and time) and we still have a phone that well have to spend even more money to replace.We would like to ask you to consider one of two options:1. Replacing this iPhone 5s with an equivalent iPhone 5s (that has a working battery and microphone).2. Purchasing the phone from us so that we would have some of the money needed to purchase another phone. (At a price that would replace this phone with a working iPhone 5s)Thank you all for your time and help with this issue. We look forward to your response.

I had a great experience with Nick and The Apple Core. He knew what was wrong as soon as I gave him the symptoms and my Mac was fixed before the day was out. The service was great and I feel like the prices were fair. I will use The Apple Core again should I need anything else fixed on another device.

The owner, Nick, of The Apple Core is the best around. I brought my Apple MacBook Pro lap top to The Apple Core for simple battery service. Nick opened up the inside of my lap top. We looked inside and he said it looks as if this lap top had coffee spill on it and the coffee seeped inside. (He was correct. There were old coffee stains on the inside of the top cover when Nick opened it up. It also was showing signs of corrosion on parts of the board inside.) I told Nick I had my lap top serviced last year by some other computer store for a minor coffee spill. It looked terrible inside my computer-----Coffee stains and corrosion. Nick said it was obvious whoever worked on my lap top last year did not properly clean it. He said our work at The Apple Core would never look like this. I was starting to panic. Nick said dont worry. I will have your lap top in great shape by the end of tomorrow. I will clean it the correct way and fix the battery problem.Well, let me tell you----I picked up my lap top the very next day as Nick promised and its working like new.Next time if I ever have another computer problem again or even a cell phone problem, straight to The Apple Core I will go and say---Hey, Nick, can you help me out? Im sure Nick will say----Yes, I can fix it.As I stated at the beginning of my review----I will end it the same way. Nick is the best!A very pleased customer,Al V.
