I recently decided to get my kayak out of storage and had a difficult time finding a way to transport it on my car. Your excellent employee Georgepatiently helped me find an economical solution. He helped me correctlytie down the straps with proper knots and the importance of exactly where to locate the kayak on the racks. Great employee.

Big store and stocked. My only complaint was that I had to find out where they had the crab traps. Guy behind counter had no clue and didnt care. However, I found exactly what I was looking for and it was a rare, hard to find item. Therefore this place gets high marks from me. Kelly, Steve and Lucas took wonderful care in repairing my rooftop Malone kayak carrier which had begun to slip and was no longer useful. Kelly flgured out that there were missing shims which when added would allow sufficient tightening to prevent the racks from slipping She was able to get immediate shipping from Malone.In less than two weeks Kelly and Steve remounted the racks with their modifications with great results.From other experiences I can stat that Ecinomy Tackle deserves five stars.

Went in there on Sunday and talked to a guy about fishing intracoastal waters. Told me where and what to use. Went out today and caught some redfish with my son on his advice! Biggest was about 24”. Had a blast and can’t wait to go back out. Thanks guys

Economy Bait and Tackle is an old staple in Sarasota. I used to fish 3 times a week until health issues. Everything we could ever need to enhance our fishing experience we got from Economy. Some of the staff I would wait for as to get advice from. Great guys and everything you need

First time in this shop. Was looking for several rods, lots of new tackle and misc. I wondered around the shop for 20 minutes. Even went to the counter to look at reels. One guy was standing there doing nothing. One other was spooling up a reel with new line for a customer. I was ready to spend but not one person asked me if I needed anything or could they help. I made it look like I was searching for something. Not once did they pick up on it so I left. I spent $730.00 at another competitor who was very helpful.Note: you guys need to pay more attention to customers in your store.

My boyfriend and I just moved to Sarasota from California, and had no idea what we needed to go fishing here. We had passed by this place a couple of times and decided to finally go in, and a sweet man named Paul helped us find everything we needed and spent over an hour talking to us about all the gear he recommended and giving us tips and tricks. We had the best experience here and will keep on coming as long as we’re here! Already recommended this place to a couple of people.

Young kids were not very helpful and unprofessional with swearing, I like supporting local but my first trip here was not a good one.

Ive been buying from this store for the last 15 years. Always have a great selection of fishing and boating supplies. I get my reels serviced here, always done right at a good price. Went in to buy an all purpose kayak for my wife and without much knowledge. Worked with a gentleman named Fletch who explained all of the options “of which there are many”. He went into pro and cons of them and price point differences. We walked out with a New 2019 Tarpon 120. Great store and great people.

I like their merchandise and customer service, but if you want to shop in a place where most people wear masks this is probably not it. Many customers and a few employees have not been wearing masks the 3-4 times I have been there in the past month.

Stopped in to the store today and purchased a large Pen reel and star rod with professional advice from Stu ... he helped me find exactly what I needed at me most affordable pricing that best fit my budget. Added line and even rigging our new set up to fit our next excursion. Thanks again Stu we will be back !!! 5 stars !!!

Awesome selection there. I have visited this store a number of times. The staffs are extremely helpful. U can ask them what kind of fish are running and what types of lures you should use. They made me a lure for the mullet runs once and I am super impressed with their knowledge and helpfulness. Highly recommend to anyone need some advices on fishing in the area.

The Kayak folks at Economy Tackle/Dolphin Paddlesports were a huge help to us! Thank you!We were traveling with 2 kayaks on J-bars when we noticed that one of the kayaks was starting to move around ... disconcerting, to say the least. We called the nearest kayak store which happened to be ET/DP and were assured that they had replacement racks. We managed to get there without losing the kayak and the team from the kayak department helped us to assess our situation. They made some suggestions that we could try (and would not have cost us anything), as well as showing us what carriers they had in stock. We eventually decided to replace one of the J-bar sets with a sea wing horizontal carrier. The team helped us unload the (rather heavy) kayak, remove the old carrier, install the new one and put the kayak back. It was rock-solid for the entire remainder of our trip: over 1000 miles! There was no pressure to buy the carrier ... that was our choice after considering all the options. I want to thank all of the people from ET/DP for their help; it made our trip worry-free. Well shop with them anytime!

Came here for a tandem kayak rental and was not disappointed at all. Fletch helped us from start to finish and was extraordinary. Not only is this place the best value for renting a kayak in the area but they help with the loading onto your vehicle and even lent us straps to tie down the kayak (even though we had our own, Fletch gave us ones that were easier to use for kayaks).Would recommend to anyone looking for a kayak rental in the Sarasota area!

Nice store but Ill probably never be back. I went there to purchase a heavy deep drop rig which I had budgeted at $1000. The older guy with the beard was not interested in helping at all. He seemed bothered to answer any questions. After that I had no interest in buying anything there. My wife had found a pair of shoes though so we went to check out. Guess who checked us out?? Mr. Unfriendly. Instead of thanking her for her purchase he was busy correcting another customer who was inquiring about a part for his fishing rod. He didnt say a word to her, just handed her the receipt and continued talking down to the other customer. No thank you, thanks for coming in no nothing. This guy is bad for business and Ill take mine elsewhere. If you dont like your job, find a new one. Im a small business owner myself and I would NEVER treat a customer at my counter like that. We try to shop local small businesses because thats what we own and we understand the importance. This guy needs a lesson.

My girlfriend and I went to economy tackle because of a referral to rent a sit on top kayak for a day. We met Kelly who immediately helped us with what we would need, as we are not kayakers! We recently purchased a Hobie Mirage Eclipse at Economy Tackle/Dolphin Paddlesports. Ashlee and Kelly helped us out and they did a fantastic job. We needed to strap the board to the roof of our car to endure a windy drive over the Skyway Bridge, and these two ladies made sure that board was completely secure. They were informative, helpful and nice to deal with.

I moved to Florida to learn to kayak and by divine intervention found Sarasota and the wonderful people at Economy Tackle. I have had to move away from FL and what I miss most is Economy Tackle. I learned how to kayak and all about differences in kayaks at their demo days. Demo days are free!!! I finally bought my dream kayak used from Economy, but had to sell it when moving to different water. I will return to Economy Tackle for Demo Days and to purchase my new type of kayak, because of their wonderful service and knowledgeable kayak team. They are always willing to help and never pushed a sale on me.
