Great little place with all the most popular books youll want to read. I love the feeling of a real book store and all books about Sarasota and Florida itself, it truly shows theyre about being a local business. Service is friendly and fast. To add to it all, they even have a points program, so youre rewarded for your loyalty to this great local gem.

I had a great experience at Bookstore1. They have a great selection of books, as well as some cute cards available. But the real winner about this place is the staff. They were very kind and welcoming, and had great recommendations of places to go in Sarasota for an out-of-towner.

Reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff. Quaint environment with comfortable places to sit and review books. I would recommend this place to you.

Great collection of history books in a modest-sized independent bookseller. Featured books shown behind postcards with mini-reviews by staff. Some books were autographed by their authors. Eclectic children and YA titles. We had left our hotel without our wallets, or else we would have dropped hundreds of dollars here.

This is an upscale bookstore on Main Street with great customer service. They provide masks, hand sanitizer and plastic gloves for browser’s Covid safety. I would have given a 5 star but I wanted to buy a small stuffed toy however price was outrageous. They did a nice job of gift wrapping my present to the kids.

Was looking for a closer bookstore that sells newspapers and magazines so I could avoid the traffic mess by Barnes and Noble. They carry usual newspapers, local and NY, but much on magazines. However, small as this bookstore in downtown Sarasota may be, it was delightful to walk through and I did purchase a book that caught my eye. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area. Street parking available for pay.

My favorite bookstore! It’s within walking distance from my office and in the “before times” I’d walk here every other week or so. Huge selection and I very much appreciate their caution during the pandemic. Highly recommended!!

Having worked at a large bookstore once upon a time, I was impressed with the literate selection, thoughtful staff recommendations, and the overall tone of this store. They clearly love good books and know what they are doing. It made for a pleasant stop and browse on a beautiful Sarasota Saturday afternoon.

What a gem in downtown! I love this shop. My sister enjoys the creative groups for young writers that meet here, I feel really safe having her fine in a truly creative environment without the obligation to continue buying “coffee” or something to allow her a seat. The selection is great and the employee selected books have given me some of my most recent favorite reads! Loved the original shop and love this location and layout even more!!

Excellent but limited selection of current bestsellers and a variety of other books. Its not a B&N but a quaint little book store in downtown Sarasota. Friendly and helpful staff.

Attended a first rate poetry reading by three local poets. Comfortable seating, good sound system, a clean, well lighted place. Excellent poetry, well read, and well attended in a wonderful independent bookstore. The owner does a lot to support and promote local poetry. This bookstore earns and deserves your support in return.

For a small, independent bookstore, this shop delivers. Theres an assortment of novels, comedy, cookbooks, and local themed literature. They also have a childrens book section. You wont be able to find everything you want simply because of space limits. But they have more than enough to keep your bookshelves filled. Keep an eye on the shops events because theyve been known to bring authors to town.

Awesome local bookstore! They have a fantastic diversity of books available of all genres for the amount of floor space they have. I especially love their Explanations section. As an avid sci-fi/fantasy reader, I find that section to be pretty weak, but totally unstandable given local demographics and the size of their store. Stop by!!

What a real shame they would not let us in. We had masks. Store was totally empty. Bookstores are for browsing. Not sure how they will stay in business.

I was severely disappointed to see such a blatant politically motivated bookstore in such a beautiful part of Sarasota. As a political Independent I expect to see publications from both sides of the political isle but there was nothing Republican or even remotely moderate to be found throughout the store. There was nothing but liberal overtones. Such bias is completely unacceptable.DON’T spend a nickel here supporting this poor behavior. Shame on them.

Contacted owner upon publication of my novel, Separated at the Border. She indicated because I was a local author (Bradenton resident) and the publisher was local (Myakka Press) there was no way they would even consider carrying it. Even though it is distributed nationally through IngramSpark. Disappointing.
