Great little Marina with floating docks, bar and grill, and motel. Got a nice room overlooking my boat! I have a 37’ catamaran that fit nicely. Great bar and grill as well. 5’ draft makes it in no problem. 6’ requires a little more bravery! I would go back.
I have kept my sailboat in a wet slip at Sara Bay Marina for 18 months. The location on Bowlees Creek is well protected and perfect for quick access to the widest and best part of Sarasota Bay for great sailing. The marina is small, securely gated and has a nice vibe with friendly and helpful sailboat and powerboat owners. The adjacent Tarpon Bay Grill & Tiki Bar makes a great stop for food and drinks after a day on the water. The dockmaster Jason is welcoming and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate requests. He promptly addresses any issues that come up. I find everything about the marina management and staff here to be done with a friendly, can-do attitude. This is a great, well-run marina.
Excellent Dockmaster ! Jason always give the extra mile and always taking care of me and my friends when is about to finding spots at the marina for us! I have been dealing with Jason for over a year and always take care of us ! Excellent marina and great service from Dockmaster Mr. Jason !
Jason, the dock master, and his crews did a great job launching and storing my Regal 2500. I kept the boat there for almost three years and I never had a problem with their service.
Had my boat service and some repair work done including new underwater lights. Alex, Tim, and all of the employees were very professional and timely, completing everything I needed. Will definitely bring my boat back here again.
2nd post after trying to run the boatI was being nice in my first review but that was before I tried running the boat. I don’t get a lot of days off work so ruining my Sunday was an unpleasant experience. The main work that was done to my Beavertail was to fix the corroded shift assembly. I paid $1,500 and got a boat back that did not have forward thrust. I reversed fine off the trailer, then had to pull myself back down the line back onto the trailer. I take the boat in, they are able to fix it (jury still in on whether its actually fixed or not as I need to work this week). How do you not check whether the engine that you dismantled still operates? Lets get past that and assume here that things like this can happen. From a customer service standpoint you think, well this customer has now taken 4 trips to our shop during his work hours, and 2 of those trips/their time were the businesses fault, so let’s make them feel confidant that the work was done proper this time and explain why we gave a boat back to a customer that was in worse shape than when they brought it in. Wrong. They sent a technician out (who was actually very nice and helped a lot in the explanation), but no word from management, no word from the service department. The manager Tim has a very ironic quote behind his desk, “it takes months to find a customer, and seconds to lose one”. For Tim – How long would it have taken to explain this one to me? For Sara Bay – If you only work on quarter million-dollar worldcat boats, then don’t accept other jobs that you do incorrectly.1st Post directly after pickup but before running itIm definitely glad to see all the good reviews here so maybe mine was just a one off, but here was my experience. Putting aside that I had to call them for 2 weeks to get any update on the work. When I picked up the boat I had to specifically request for someone to come out and walk me through the work that was done, if not for this, I would have just paid and been on my way after paying a 4 digit bill (im not complaining about the price, that is what it is). For Sara Bay - Please try to make an effort to explain to people the work that was done on their boats. After hunting someone down to walk me through what was done, I started to look at the boat. Grease and skid marks all over the top deck, as well as garbage in the live hull, ill try to post pictures. I will say this, next to the crazy expensive boats they had on the lot, my Beavertail Skiff looked insignificant. If this is the reason for the lack of customer service, then i will say - If the project is beneath you, just say so and dont accept the job, no hard feelings.I had several items on my maintenance wish list, but the largest was to run a diagnostics test on the engine. Typically this will result in an Engine Identification Report that could show engine overheat codes, missed idles, etc. On Evinrude E-techs this capability is one of the main factors in choosing a mechanic. After 1 week i called to check up on this report and was told they do not have this capability. The next week i called to verify if this was true, as this was my main reason for the appointment, and was told they already did this. Upon paying, i requested the report and was told they couldnt print it out. Now i could be mistaken here and they actually did have the report, but no walk through of it, no explanation, no issues on an engine with 550+ hours (which is great news overall)For Sara Bay - I hate writing these but hope this helps the next customer. With all these other great reviews on here i hope this is not typical customer service.
First boat, I shopped around for marina/boat storage. We chose Sara Bay for location and easy access to the intracoastal. I am very happy with the excellent customer service from the entire staff. I had the engine serviced once already, and I was very satisfied, as well. Big shout-out to Jason, the dockmaster, for always being so nice and accommodating with all our requests. Strongly recommend Sara Bay Marina!
Just picked up my 2016 Cobia Bay from Sara Bay Marine and they did a nice job. They installed a new GPS/FF, installed a new trim sending unit and fixed my very stiff steering. The Service Manager is Tim and Im sorry I dont know who my Technician was but he did a very nice job. I previously purchased a Key West at Sara Bay and have been taking different boats there for over 10 years (Parker & KW). As always when I picked up my boat it was already in the water, washed and waiting for me. Thanks Sara Bay
Friendly helpful staff, clean and well kept
Sara Bay provided excellent service and took care of all our needs. We are now loving our Worldcat 235CC.ThanksMike Dickinson
Been keeping my boat here nearly 5 years. Just cant say enough about how much I enjoy this Marina. Tim Fitzgerald the service manager goes over and beyond To take care of your problems. Joe Dinicola the Shop technician does excellent work when I need maintenance. Jason Silverman does an excellent job running the in and out storage.(dockmaster). Happy boater.
I have been using Sara Bay for a slip for about a year now. The service has been second to none. When I have an issue or question regarding anything related to boating, repairs, information the responses have been quick and helpful. The dockmaster has worked with me, even though my timing hasnt been regular. Dockage in the Sarasota area is at an all time high, and I have yet to be let down by Jason and Sara Bay.
We recently purchased a boat from Sara Bay Marina and Chris and Bruce were fantastic to work with. They answered all of our questions and worked with us every step of the way. I would highly recommend working with Chris and his team.
Glenn and I would like to say a big THANK YOU, to all the staff at Sara Bay Marina for everything they did for us during our stay with you.First and foremost a special Thank You to Jason the Dockmaster. From the moment we arrived, to when the boat got sold, he was up and above in all matters. He was there at every moment to answer our questions and concerns and was always professional but most of all pleasant and cheerful. I cannot remember a time, even when he was really busy, that he was any other way during our whole time. During Covid 19 we could not cross the Canadian Border and he was there for us every step of the way. Going out of his way to assure us with the safety of our boat and there wasnt any time we called that he didnt take the time to either answer our questions or deal with any situation. It definitely gives you a feeling of being part of a family rather than a business. If and when we get a new boat we would return to this Marina ..far superior because of its welcoming feeling. Also a thank you to Lexi for all your friendly ways and your cheerful disposition. Dont ever loose your zest for life you are a truly a lovely person who also made our stay there the best. Taking care of the boats and watching out for us.The owner of Sara Bay Marina must be so proud of his staff and how they look after this Marina!!All of you stay safe so the next time we meet were all together.Kindest Regards,Glenn and Sue Chapman
We called and asked for a slip for a few days and were treated very well. Much appreciated!
Tim and Angela in the Sara Bay service department have been great to work with. Maintenance and warranty work on my Cobalt 24sd has always been done quickly and efficiently.
Visited Sarasota and left my boat at Sara Bay marina for a week. Dock master Jason was very helpful and made our boating experience excellent. Outstanding customer experience!
We are just doing some investigating on boats and prices but Tom took the time to talk to us and explain options even though inventory was super low
I have owned boats and used at least 4 different marinas (both freshwater and saltwater)- Sara Bay is the best of the them all. The boating app is awesome. Customer service is top of the notch from the dockmaster, Jason. Will definitely come back to Sara Bay with my next boat.
Took my boat to service dept on Sept 9.The first picture is the following Sunday.Took it back the 17th,got it back the 27th and the second picture is the 29th.Thanks for the great (NOT) service Sara Bay.But I would like to thank Joe and BoatUS for the tows.....In response to the reply about my review, the motor is a 2016 Honda 4 stroke with less than 100 hours. Now what is your excuse. You just flat-out lie to cover you butts.Shameful way to do business.
Great people, good service!Only complaint is the greasy fingerprints and a stain on the swim platform. A gentleman got most of the stain off the swim platform but I told him I would do the rest at home. He didnt have the rust remover product in the shop...I havent put her on the water yet but Im sure they did a great job!I will be using them from now on.
Great team out at Sara Bay Marina! They really went the extra mile for me and my client (both of us from California). Both Mike and Alex were fantastic to work with. Thanks guys!
The Gentleman that we have dealt with, Jason, is fantastic.Jason is quick to answer any questions, quick to accommodate you.He is extremely helpful, and very professional.Definitely would recommend this marina and specially Jason.
I took my boat for service, to do an annual on both yamahas 350, and the Panda generator. At least 3 phone calls made to arrange for the appointment. Day came and I dropped the boat, with a list of things to check, in addition to annual service. They kept the boat close to 3 weeks. I paid $680 to detail the boat, and it was returned in the most awful condition I have ever seen my boat. They blame it on jet fuel from overflying planes. Didnt even offer to correct the problem. The engines would not start at 5 pm on a hot day. They do not have the ability to shore power and to keep batteries charged, as the use the electrical system of the boat to work on it, so the batteries were drained!. They charged me to haul the boat out of the water, but they never serviced the engines or the generator!!! the main reason I brought the boat all the way from Siesta to begin with. The trim tabs were working perfectly fine when I brought the boat for service, now they are not working, and they have no clue as to why. Liquid oil dripping from the areas they worked at the helm. They want me to bring the boat back to correct all these issues, but now I filled up the fuel tanks, and they dont have the capacity to get it out of the water. A total disaster, and they claim that if there is a problem IN MY MIND with the condition of the boat, they will fix it. They charged me 3.5 hrs of labor ($427), to replaced 2 underwater lights, and they did it with the wrong lights, so now I have 2 white and 2 blue lights, looks awful.
I was here recently and extended my stay because of the professional and caring service provided by the Dock Master, And his staff. Jason went it of his way to make sure my stay was as comfortable and accommodating as possible. A couple of days after I left, I ran into some mechanical issues and once again Jason and his staff were more than accommodating and helpful to get me back on my way again. He even called to check on me to check if I was ok and to make sure my boat was running smoothly. Ive gone over 1500 miles and have been to dozens of marinas over the last few months, and Sara Bay was as personal a d caring as it gets. 5 stars and a huge thank you to them.
Excellent in both sales and parts follow up. Very creative in sales in finding the boat I wanted and then finding a buyer for the boat I wanted to trade in. It wouldn’t have happened without Sara Bay Then, the parts department with Bob is excellent on follow up, parts and advice. They have gone beyond the call of duty. Carroll Wetzel, 24’ Carolina Cat owner
Jason is great to deal with. Good People
Great sales staff who know their boats. Took a lot of time to show us around and find the best boat for our needs. Easy to find. Lots of parking. A full service marina with engine and boat service. Right on the water.
Wonderful experience. Michael was so knowledgeable and was extremely helpful with my pursuit of a new boat. I would use Sara Bay Marina for any of my marina or boat buying needs. They definitely made a repeat customer of me. I Would recommend them everytime.
Mike Sfura was the sales manager at Sarabay where I bought my World Cat. He was professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and not at all pushy. I would do business with him again and that is the best compliment!
We purchased our new World Cat 280DC-X from Sara Bay Marina in Sarasota. Paige Hardison was our salesperson. From the start Paige and the team at Sara Bay took great care of us, making sure that we had an opportunity to sea trial the boat under conditions that would convince us it could handle rough water. The order and delivery process was done very professionally. Paige kept us informed during the whole process. We definitely chose the right marina to work with!
Great place. Very nice marina. Sales staff are very nice. Beautiful location.
The in-and-out of the water services that I receive for my boat has been excellent. They are always on time and careful with my boat. Followup to new boat deficiencies that I have identified have all been dealt with and most in a timely manner. The Sara Bay marina offers good access to the gulf and inland water channels. The management and staff are very friendly and anxious to provide excellent customer service. The storage of my boat is very adequate but I would prefer indoor storage. Sara Bay management is working to make indoor storage available through the construction of a new facility. This process is taking a lot longer than originally estimated.
The service department is great. The mechanic that I worked with was prompt and didnt not try to string me along. I had warranty issues that were out of their control. So the process took much longer than necessary. The one point I have negatively is that when it came to standing up to the manufacturer, I was the one keeping pressure on them. All in all, this is a great place with strong service departments and skilled mechanics. Highly recommended.
Sara Bay Marina has done all my rigging work and servicing since I bought my 2017 Grady White. They are very easy access by boat, or trailer, and Brian, Gary and Steve will lift your boat right out of the water and take it to the shop.Over the past year, Tim and Randall and crew have added Power Poles, several Garmin accessories, sound system accessories and allowed my boat to be worked on by approved outside vendors, including applying non-slip decking. They have also been my only folks for servicing my Yamaha engine when needed. The service department at Sara Bay are all good folks, and enjoyable to talk with. They all have done great work and I will certainly use them in the future.
We stayed at the motel for ten days. Our room was facing the road but it didnt bother us. The motel was alright but the good thing is the nice area behind it. Its a calm place with a restaurant/ sports bar that we didnt try. The marina is located in a beatifull environment and during our time there there was at least ten manatees roaming arround in the water.
If you buy a boat here you can bet youll get the best price and a great experience. I just bought a Key West boat from Mike Sfura at Sarah Bay Marina. Again: Best price. Great service. This is my third boat Ive bought and couldnt be more pleased. They are honest. They are very patient (I have a family of six! that I paraded around their marina). And Mike listened to what I wanted and got exactly what I needed. They went above and beyond to take care of me and my family. The test drive was a positive no hassle no pressure experience. Thanks Mike and Sarah Bay Marina team!
My sister and I went to this marina to possibly by a boat with cash if we had found something we liked. A sales person walked by us asked if we had any questions and we had told him yes. He kept walking as he walked down by the water where there was 4 other people standing there bbqing. The man that asked if we had any questions did not come back to help us. We will never be back at this place again. There sales people there suck.
THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Buyers and sellers beware of this place. We tired to buy a boat here. They refused to help us and we drove over 4 hours to sea trial 2 boats. We talked to them all week to schedule the appt. and both Micheal and Jesse were rude, lazy & refused to show my husband the boat. I cannot believe that they sell boats for a living and won’t help a customer with approved financing?! Michael and Jesse are so incredibly unprofessional. I would NEVER list my boat with these brokers or purchase anything from either one of them! I’m contacting the BBB as well. Go somewhere else that deserves your business!
We love Sara Bay marina. It is lovely. The marina staff are all very nice. I feel that our yacht is secure when we are not there. A great Tiki restaurant and bar with good food very pleasant.
Excellent boat dealer with an outstanding sales and service staff. They do everything they can to accommodate the customer (including delivering and launching my new boat, while picking up the trade-in), and are forthright and considerate in customer care.
Mike and Jessie were awesome. We looked at a lot of boats at a lot of dealers and ended up buying a Key West 230 BR. The decision had as much to do with the team at Sara Bay as it did with the boat itself. The service manager Tim is excellent and we have no doubt will take care of us for years to come.
Great Marina! That has a private entrance as well as Showers and Lockers all right at the dock. Everyone looks out for each other and your privacy also a main reason I love this Marina! Thanks All!
Sara bay marina is the worst service marina around. I took my boat for service because of a miss. They told me it was my computer. Over 1600 dollars plus later I picked up the boat and did not go 15 minutes before the same problem occurred again. Took it back never fixed it and refused to return my old computer which was never defective. Went to another co. who repaired it properly. Called today on a set of plugs quoted twice as much for the exact plug at an auto part supply. When questioned about the price difference she said their plugs were better rated .Really? The plugs were the same number no difference. They treat people as if there a idiots. I suggest shopping around for service and parts and never rely on a word they say.
I like
We purchased a new World Cat and highly recommend Michael Sfura. He handled our purchase from beginning to sea trial and his attention to detail was excellent.
This is my 2 Cobalt boat I have bought from here from Jesse and it was a pressure as always. Mike, Tim and Suzan also are great to deal with. Will not hesitate to buy my next boat from them and recommend anyone to do the same.
Sarabay Marina is great. They work as a team to get it done. Their customer service is exceptional! Mike and Jesse were not pushy at all .they gave plenty of space while I made my decision. Thanks!!
Very nice Marina with courteous management and professional dochands. I have had positive experiences both storing my 34 CC and servicing it at Sara Bay. I highly recommend this Marina. Convenient location and easy boat maintenance contractors on site as well.
They are definetetly 5 star. Most honest sales staff, high quality and honest service personnel, and never in the many years I have used their services have I ever had a problem with there work. They are the best!!
Great stay
5 Star service all around! Mike was very helpful to us with the purchase of our boat, he went out of his way to accommodate and help us ! We couldnt be any more pleased with the service! Thank you!
Nice quiet little inlet across from LBK. Live music most nights from a variety of eras. Nice little place with all necessities.
Got a great deal on a beautiful World Cat. I am totally sold on Cats and will never drive a monohull. The team at Sara Bay work great together. I had everyone taking care of getting me the perfect boat, with all the right equipment at a great price. Thank you Gary, Blake, Brian and Bob!!
I had an excellent experience buying and outfitting my 295CC World Cat at Sara Bay. Mike and all of his crew were very accomodating and professional. I highly recommend Sara Bay as a place to buy a boat and have it set up so it runs just right!
Sara Bay Marina will never touch my boat again. I had work performed at the marina at the beginning of the season. I paid a few thousand dollars to have the boat gone through and ready to bring to Tampa. They were supposed to check all fluids, test drive, Install new depth finder, repair trim sending unit along with a few other minor items. When I got the boat to Tampa it was running rough so I had the mechanic at my marina take a look. The dip stick was rusted in (Obviously never checked the oil - Boat had been sitting for two years), when they got the dipstick out the whole metal section was rotted away - gone! from the amount of water in the engine. Water got in the engine due to the way the vessel was stored in the marina (deck drains clogged with leaves - water overflowed down face of motor) naturally I had to pay to have all the water and oil flushed out of the motor. I would have had to pay this regardless it was the fact that they could have completely destroyed the motor by lack of not taking five minutes to do their job! I was ok with that, now after taking my boat out for the third time since their service work everything they repaired has now stopped working including trim and new depth finder. I am now paying to have my drive pulled again for their incompetence and lack of quality work. I have emailed them twice with my complaints against their service with no response.... They were quick to get me the original bill though!
Mike Myers reached out to me about an Albemarle I had inquired about several months earlier. After a few conversations he was able to accept my offer, which included a trade. Mike Sfura facilitated a very positive experience with the sea trial. Overall very happy with the professional staff and glad we made the purchase.
Dock crew has my boat in on time. Helpful and pleasant. Boat service has been fine. Definitely recommend
I was going by SaraBay yesterday in my 12 Zodiac. It is the tender from my boat. I had not used the Zodiac in a while and the tiller shaft had ceased up, resulting in the steering cable breaking. I had no directional control, just thrust and some steering using the paddles. After much tacking bank n forth, I managed to work my way to within 5 feet of the dock at SaraBay Marina. Eventually a guy in a big hat came down the dock. I assumed he was coming to assist me as Id been out there floundering for about 20 minutes trying to get to a dock. As I neared the dock, I asked him if they had a wrench I could borrow to disconnect the steering cable from the tiller on my outboard. The attitude that came back was one of the most dismissive responses I have heard from anyone in the marine industry in 30 years of boating Nope. We have no tools and the tech guys will not loan out their tools, and with that he went about his business, not even offering to catch a line, and left me floundering as I tired to get the Zodiac to a dock. I could not help but wonder if I would have received the same sort of response had I pulled up in the 50 yacht my tender sits on. I was so flabbergasted at the lack of interest in helping me, I maneuvered the boat away to another dock where someone loaned me a pipe wrench to disconnect the steering cable, and I went on my way. I will NEVER do business with this company again. Had he come to my assistance, they may have earned some business from me to replace the busted cable. I will fix it myself instead.
The best people on the west coast! If your gonna buy a boat you cant do any better. From the receptionist to the delivery they are great.
They Could not be a more professional, competent, honest and most helpful staff I have ever come into contact with. I have either stored my boats there or purchased or sold boats at Sarabay. It has been over 15 years now. And still going. I consider myself fortunate.irwin H
After a lot of research and looking, we found our perfect boat at Sara Bay! Mike Sfura was a pleasure to work with. We aren’t looking for our next boat yet, but when we do we will return to Sara Bay for sure.
Fantastic Dock Master friendly Staff always accommodating great pricing
Very knowledgable sales man and one of few world cat dealers in area.
Staff very helpful and accomadating. Marina is safe easy to get in and out of and docks are nice.
I do all my engine maintenance at Sara Bay Marina. They are honest, knowledgeable, and communicate well. I highly recommend them!
Mike Sfura worked diligently to put me in a new Worldcat 280 DC at a reasonable price in a timely manner. Highly recommend the boat and Sara Bay!
All of the outside men that work there are very friendly and helpful.
My boat is high and dry thanks to Sara Bay Marina.5 STAR
Exceptional service and follow up. In addition to a super location, the storage facility offers total enclosure and protection for my boat. jm
Great place to keep your boat awesome location to get into the Bay in Sarasota employees are very professional
As you can see from a few of the bad reviews here Sara Bay had a couple problem areas. We have been a customer for about 2 years now and have seen the transformation into a better facility. People that were in charge of doing things the wrong way are no longer there. We keep our boat in dry storage an have had service work performed, both have been done very well.
During a recient major, overhaul project on a F225 TXRD,2005 midsection rebuild and major service combined. The team at this facility provided great communication and delivery of services, welding restored surface integrity, Technical Services by Service personnel. And superior advisement, to avoid over spending and a sensible aproach, is what puts Tim ahead of the others. After all was complete the power plant was restored to factory specs, and has been run under exterme conditions with no failure of any kind,49 hrs so far.looking forward to another 900 hrs of service on this unit. Sara bay is my only choice for service on Yamaha systems.
Courteous, friendly, professional and fast! Came in for my 20hr sevice and will definitely be back.
Brought my boat here for storage in July and so far I am very pleased with the staff and the level of service.
Saturday morning, no one ever came out of office. Receptionist did not know what to say since they only had 2 sales guys and one was out with customer 2nd one did not even acknowledge us . Drove an hour for nothing.
Great service, boat always launched when needed, clean marina. Could use better restroom facility since mostly have to walk to hotel to use there just not convenient.
I have purchased new World Cat boats since moving here in 2011. All my service and warranty repairs have been performed at Sara Bay Marina and I have had nothing but Excellent 5+star service. My boat has always been cleaned after repairs with all the work completed. Thanks Mike & Tim
Great marina best dock master very helpful
There is a complete lack of customer service here. As the soul Evinrude dealer in the area its easy to see why there are so few of the E-Tecs around. Their attitude conveys a complete lack of respect for the customer or his needs. Ill drive to Port Charlotte next time I need something. They deserve a Minus 5 star.
Fabulous marina ⛵ and boat 🛥 sales. They will have what youre looking for in a boat 🛥
Very nice Marina and they also sell boats. My brother has had his boat there for the last couple of years.
Wow what a great experience it was easy and fast with the best price around
Boats ah floating
Absolutely horrible experience in service! They quote you a price and then charge you over! Tim in service and mike myers are absolutely horrible. They lie and say they never had conversations with you! Do not buy or bring your boat in service. They are very shady to say the least!
Great Yamaha service and friendly marina staff.
These folks know how to fix stuff that baffles me, and I dont mind paying for their knowledge.
We keep our boat here. Friendly, efficient and accommodating!
Awesome service department.
Nice selection of boats
It was The River House google, not the marina
Had problems at MarineMax and had to go to Sara Bay to get problems solved. Could not believe how fast and efficient they are.
Very good service group.
Excellent service and a great deal!
Service dept is great...
Friendly people, nice facility, great location on Sarasota Bay
This marina has only one flaw.... Too small, but all the rest makes up for it though!
Extremely rude docking staff.
