I dont like giving negative reviews. First there were no shopping carts, they were all in the parking lot I suppose. The shelves were in desperate need of restocking. I could not find the imitation crab or any name brand breakfast sausage. There were high school kids running around the store being disrespectful to almost everyone. One girl was running saying wheres my f@&#ing boyfriend. There was 3 kids at the produce picking up the cucumbers acting like he was going to chase the 2 girls he was with. I feel sorry for the people that work there when school gets out. But they really need more employees so people dont waste their time shopping there. Sorry for this bad review but I was very disappointed when I left.

Nothing like shopping smart and making it final.. nice store in a nice quiet little Mall ..Del Taco, pink donut shop ..everythings nice here ..even have a Jamaican restaurant thats really fun, good food there too!!

I love the ample parking with easy access. The produce was fresh and abundant. Employees were friendly and helpful and the checkout girl was upbeat and had a great sense of humor. In and out of the store in no time at all.

Smart and final is close and convenient for me to shop. Not always my first choice though. This morning I saw that they had great business practices. I Heard them call for an employee to push a cart out for an elder lady that was shopping there. Nice young man come and walk slowly pushing the ladies cart. Then loaded her car for her. I have only seen that hospitality in the south. Dont believe I have ever seen this in California. Good business practices here at least.

This is the worst grocery store in Santee. They dont seem to care about their customers. Ive never had anyone ask to help me in the store or open a line even when there are more than 10 people in line. The wait to check out is amost always more than 5 minutes; frequently more than 10. They usually have more than 60% of their registers closed and there is no self checkout. They must be understaffed.

Nice store, well lit, clean and full of friendly, knowledgeable staff. There are bargains here and other stuff thats pretty much the same price as competitive grocery stores. Lines were moderate, but moved quickly. Selection was not on par with some other larger chain stores, but its likely they have what you want.

This sure actually closes at 10pm like all of the other Smart & Finals. Id appreciate if people could help make this a to comment. As a worker there I hate turning people away because we cant get Google to change the closing time on here.

The Santana Village Smart & Final is by far the best Ive been to from the very best in retail grocery employees to the cleanliness of the store. I give this store a 12 out of 10 rating.

I only really come here for things like their dressing or favor syrup for my coffee. Pretty much can goods and what not.Their produce is never fresh, I always see things that have mold or the best sell date is within a day of selling. Today I found jicama that best to sell day was today.So looks at the dates when ever you are looking to buy.

Workers are nice, store is clean & theyve been great about face masks & social distancing but I only gave 3 outta 5 stars cuz they never seem to have the exact item I want. Their selection isnt great.

Quick and easy to get the items I needed and to get out. They keep it safe and social distant. And I love the hours.

Im not a big fan of S & F, the reason I shop there sometimes is that they took over my neighborhood Albertsons (still so sad over that). I dont like the layout of the store, and they have a limited selection of a lot of different foods.

After two years going there, the service quality is consistant, good choice of products, fair prices. The employees are nice, in particular miss Mandy who is always ready to help with a smile. Keep up the good work.

It wasnt much of a trip, so we got what we came for and checked out with Mike. Inspite of everything going on Smart & Final Extra in Santana Village is well kept, the staff is friendly and happy to help, they managed to keep things stocked and organized while seeming to be in such a good mood youd swear that they are all smiles.

They always have all the cleaning products I need to clean up Coronavirus spores.

When did bring your own bags become the cashier can not help you with bagging? The is not Food 4 Less. This morning I started bagging things on my own to help speed the process. I had numerous large items that needed to be simply put back in my basket so I could exit the store. Instead of helping me or simply pushing the items to the end of the counter where I could reach them, the cashier simply started checking out the next customer. I had to reach over this customer to get the items I just purchased. Santee, you really need to start working on your customer service at check out.

More than once Ive tried to shop at this place and its always a disaster. Today, I tried to buy some milk here because this place is on my way home. One check stand open and the line all the way around the perimeter of the sore back to the milk cases... never again. This place is just using the Covid-19 scare as a reason to cut employee hours and open for business hours...

I applied at Smart&final for the receiver getting boxes items on the shelves and go backs Maintenance around the store if needed Ian’s outside trash cans in push in all the carts in I read the job prescription before I apply at a store I really won’t to help clean the grocery store economic store. It’s a galaxy I can be moved.

Store is convenient but definitely not a full size grocery store. Little on the expensive side.You need to stop putting out fruit thatsRotting. Returned a cantaloupe because the inside was mush. The following week a lot of the cantaloupes had holes some the size of a quarter. Today while checking one out my finger actually broke through the skin. Have seen drippy grapes and apples that should not have been out for sale.There is a lot of good things about the store but fresh fruit isnt one of them.Some of your cashiers dont think they need to bag groceries or put your bags in your cart. If I want to do that I can go to food 4 less.

If you cant make it to Costco you can go to smart & final and get almost anything you need

They have it figured out, at checkout automated system tells you which checkout stand number to go to. Very efficient & great prices.

Yea, i went in, and apparently someone stole something. And not only was he removed. But i was to, and i was gonna buy something. I want to do something about this, or talk to their manager. Otherwise, before that Incident it was somewhat good service.

Store closes East entrance after 7 p.m. breaking fire code when it is clearly stated above doorway that these doors are to remain open during business hours although the motion sensor blocks part of the wording which also is a violation of fire code.7-14-21. Website shows closes at 11pm. Show up at 1045pm and store is closed. Please change hours to reflect closing accurate closing time.

Terrible produce but great for items with a shelf life

Reasonable prices. Does not have a bakery or deli which would be convenient to have. Store is clean and staff friendly. Just wish the 10 items or less check out would not accept people with full baskets or 20 items . 90% of the time I have had to wait behind customers who werent considerate enough to go in the proper checkout and the cashier lets them through. So what is the point of a 10 items lane when everyone is allowed through?

A pretty good place to shop, especially for large families!

I dont know what the joke about me is with one of the younger female cashiers that works in the evenings (brown shoulder length curly hair) but Im sick of it. Every time I shop there there its obvious there is some inside joke about me. Obnoxious whispering and nodding then laughing as I leave. On one occasion the cashier told me only weirdos purchase that when I bought some ice. Im a paying customer and have been for years. Im getting her name and talking to managment next time. Hire some adults capable of treating customers with respect.

I really miss having a regular grocery store at this location -with a real deli counter. That said, this store is a welcome addition to the town. This is closest to us and we can now make one stop that would have required a trip to Costco and then a grocery store. They have a decent selection of craft beers that are very cold and priced fair. If you buy at least four of the larger pint+ bottles you save even more. We have been buying too much candy lately though. :/ Giant boxes of tootsie-pops! Yum. :) It took a little time but I know my way around the store really well and hardly need assistance. When I did need help, the staff was great about taking me right to the item.

The only reason I shop here is for Convenience sure not service. Why cant they assist in bagging our groceries? Ive never been to a store that does not help at all....like smart and final.

I love Costco, plain and simple. Smart & Final is like a mini Costco to me. Walked in and it was super packed, only because it was brand new and just had opened. Customer Service was great and place was very clean. Here is hoping it stays that way. Glad there is another option for groceries in Santee

Very difficult to find refried beans as they are with the soups and not in the bean aisle. I go to Smart & Final because my husband is a cheese aholic and if you buy four large bags you save $2.50 per bag. Ive been doing this for the last several months but this is the first time I paid attention to the price and it was not adjusted by the register. I had to bring it to the cashier is attention then he had to go verify and eventually he discounted $10 off my receipt. Im just wondering how many times I didnt notice that it didnt come off. I also find it difficult to find the sales items as theyre not clearly marked throughout the store and even the website and the store ad have different information.

Had a solid 1st impression. Good beer and wine selection. Store has a lot of good options for meats too. All and all a very good experience.

I was so excited when this store came to Santee and decided immediately to support it. Unfortunately this store does not get 5 stars because of the terrible produce. I am so very disappointed that I will never be shopping there for produce again, which means I wont be shopping there as much, period. I hope management gets a new produce buyer and produce manager. Ugh. Wilted, mildew and rotten - NOT ACCEPTABLE - NO EXCUSE.

Nothing against the staff here. I just dont like Smart and Final. Its not quite a grocery store and leaps and bounds far away from being like a costco. They over charge you for simple items unless you buy in multiples (4 or more). The store always seems to be dirty or run down, which its hard to imagine why considering its only been here for 2 years. The produce is horrible.Id much prefer to have a real grocery store. Bring back Albertsons or Hagens. Or put a second Vons in Santee. Id even prefer to have a Northgate market over this place.

Check the expiration dates on anything you buy from here. They made me and my family sick from hot links that were bad by more then a week. placed a special order for a Marie Callender lasagna have the bar code and everything I brought in and the guy orders me the wrong items

Wife wanted a medium sized package of M&Ms and all they have is a box for 20 dollars or a small packet for $1.19. would have looked longer but the music was so loud that I was shaking by the time I was out of there. Last visit for me

I love this place I now will no longer shop at Costco except for the few things I cant get here so with that being said I will only shop here and send my husband to costco with my small list, I hate costco because of all the people that are rude to people like myself who need to use a ride on cart due to physical disabilities, at smart and final that is never a problem the only thing I would change is maybe make the isles a bit wider to accommodate a ride on cart and a regular cart that is the only thing I would change. Costco I would change everything and go back to the early hours shopping for people that have vip cards like myself that way I might like to shop there again.

I like the bulk items but customer service could be way better. Everyone seems like they rather be home than work.

Every time I buy there onions or potatoes in a bag they are rotten. Their staff dont check there 😡 produce often. I miss Albertson here. This place is bad on produce
