The bookstore, its great with a varied selection and a great staff. Anytime i come in, whether its just to browse or have a specific book in mind they always have a great attitude to help. Shelves are always stocked and organized, and they keep the place nice a tidy. The Cafe: some of the best cookies. Really love em. The drinks sold are starbucks, which are semi-limited menu, due to them not being a whole starbucks location. The drinks available are nice and refreshing. Great items to enjoy while browsing books.Overall great store, cafe, and wonderful staff

I love to read and look at interesting books. I could spend hours in Barnes & Noble just looking at all the fun other things in the store too. I almostalways get a cup of tea and some of their delicious cookies also.

Lindsey was super helpful at the Santee branch. It was nice to meet someone who works at book store and also has a passion for books. Ive been shopping for an electronic reader for a while and she answered all of my questions. Im always on the hunt for a new book and new genres and she spent the time to walk me through the store and check out new selections. It was the personal touch of the shopping experience that ultimately guided my decision in getting the Nook Glowlight Plus vs. the Kindle Oasis.I hope this review gets back to Lindsey somehow so she knows that her going the extra mile not only got me to purchase the Nook, but got me excited to read again. Im looking forward to finishing up my current library and starting on some of her suggestions.

I love this location for one reason. I was one of the very first customers when that location opened their doors. To this very day, a familiar face behind the scenes from Opening day is still going strong. 15 years +....... It will be politicy incorrect do business elsewhere for my fun Kit activities.

This B&N location in Santee is lovely. The staff is very nice and very helpful. I love that I can buy coffee and a treat, it makes book shopping even better! Id give five stars but the B&N membership is ridiculously expensive. I can get books on-line for less with no membership fee. B&N needs to either lower the price, offer a lifetime membership, or include more perks for the annual fee.

I couldnt find anything regarding tractors.

Yay books! This location did away with the dvd area and it is now filled with games and quirky Japanese anime items

I walked in with my son and husband, there was a man wearing a black coat who followed us from the moment that we stepped into the store. He followed us everywhere that we went and we did not even leave the front area. I had come to the store to buy a new leather bound journal and some lettering pens, but with him making me feel like I was doing something wrong, I decided against it and left without making a purchase. I dont mind loss prevention checking in, but out right hovering a customer who has never been in that store is a bit much. He could have at least been a bit more sneaky about it.I called the store from the parking lot and at first the girl who answered was apologizing and then suddenly she started saying that he does not work for them. I watched this man pick up gift cards and other items he had found and bring them to the cashier at the front. Hes also wearing what looked like a Barnes and Noble lanyard. She was also going to have her manager talk to him? If he was a customer there would be no reason for that.I really dont mind if loss prevention walks by 100 times. Im not a thief. I just dont like feeling like I have a stalker who is watching my every move. I felt so awkward that I literally told my son not to touch anything no matter what. I sent my husband back later and the guy was still there... Either they lied or they have a customer who is literally following people around not buying anything for hours at a time.

I love books... So its natural that I also love bookstores too. I will admit to preferring a smaller locally owned variety... But... Those are few and far between... And... I would rather flip through the pages of a book before I purchase, so a bookstore, any bookstore, is much more rewarding than shopping on line. So, with that said, this is a beautiful store with fantastic selection, and a full blown Starbucks inside! I love the smell of the books and the coffee together! This would be a five star review if they had a little better service... Everyone they have is good, but it seems understaffed. So go check them out, and enjoy!

Love the atmosphere very welcoming

We love barns and noble. The staff is always so helpful and nice. The cafe is always fast and tasty. My kids love the childrens section and they have story time and special events that we love to go to. If you have small kids sign up for the free kids club it will give you info on special event and stuff. The membership is worth it for us. Starting a love of books is so important even if its just going to story time with the kids. They also always have a discount book section as well for your budget and they also send out coupons! Love Barnes & Noble!

Great location with other shops to walk to and shop through. Has a clean bathroom, great cafe with delicious cookies and food. Big kid area with train table and actual trains on it! Staff is friendly and helpful. Wide range of merchandise for everyone you may have a need to buy a gift for.

What a great store! You can tell that everyone here, from the cashier to the ladies at the coffee shop, are so very happy to be there and theyre so helpful. Go in with every intention of picking up one thing and we always end up leaving with three bags full. But why not? Food for the soul, right?

Its a bookstore, a coffee shop, and a music store all in one. Its always a favorite to visit because of the incredible selection. It has journals, calligraphy sets, stationery, games, books of every genre for all ages, CDs, and a lot of other fun stuff. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by whether its to buy or browse. Anyone is welcomed and its a very peaceful environment. I feel most comfortable in this store than any other.

Love the coffee shop. You are able to browse books in a nice, clean atmosphere. Check out the clearance books - Ive found some fantastic editions with deep discounts. They have greeting cards and lots of stationary type items (journals, etc) and gift cards. Staff is nice but wish they had more cashiers - always a line it seems.

Very Glad its Open, Pierodicals are still trying to get monthly issues up to date.

I go here so often. I love the huge selection of various genres of books. Not only do they sell books and magazines, but they also sell music and movies, digital tablets, toys, and many other items. I love the staff there as they are always very friendly. There is a Starbucks inside of the store as well. I have gotten to know some of the people that work at Barnes & Noble nearly as friends by this point. At a younger age, I used to attend pajama reading parties on Friday nights. I believe the night has changed to Tuesday nights, but I actually havent been to B&N in a little while, so I couldnt say now if the events are still on Tuesdays or if that have moved back to Fridays. Overall, I rate Barnes & Noble five stars because of the great service Ive always had with the place. I highly recommend it to any book, magazine, music lover, foreign language learner, traveler... (you get it) that you know.

This is one of the better Barnes and Nobles in the county. They got a huge stock of LEGOs, music and childrens books. Theyre doing a book drive for children who cant afford books. Worthy cause to bring books to kids in need.

Barnes & Noble is the classic place to get hard copies of books. After all these hearsnit still holds up as a quality place with quality people. Its nice to still be able to go into a location and it have the book I need. With the dominance of online shopping Im so glad that physical print hasnt died just yet. This location is a great place to go.

Rude staff. Overly expensive.

Before Covid, I was a number one fan of this store. However, today I went in the store in Santee, with my mother in law and son, and the experience drastically changed. You see, we cannot wear face masks for medical reasons. I kept atleast 12 feet away from everyone, until approached. I was then asked to leave because I did not have a face mask. It was delivered sarcastically and I was not given the opportunity to engage in conversation. I had with me the county of San Diego health order and the section that explained the exemption.However, they treated me like a disease, told me they did not want to see or touch my paper, and discriminated against us. I, my son, and mother in law are protected under the Americans with disabiluty act and I hope next time I will be treated fairly and given the opportunity to share that information and not be discriminated against. I appreciate their wanting to keep everyone safe as I practice that myself.

Excellent book store! Lots of books to choose from. Huge store. There is a Starbucks located inside. (If you like Starbucks) Huge variety of magazines as wells as books. Very nicely organized and sectioned. Lots of reduced prices as well as discounted specials. They also have a lot of various accessories available.
