I was so glad to find this store!!NOTE: The local Beverlys doesnt have much fabric at all, and some of the other Santa Maria stores alleging to have fabric are ones to avoid because of their lack of social concern.JOANN has actual bolts of beautiful fabrics at reasonable prices, very friendly and helpful staff, good deals and easy returns.Ill be an ongoing JOANN customer.

At the time of my visit - not at all crowded, aisles fairly well stocked with products and being re-stocked as I watched. Plenty of employees to assist in answering questions and they were all friendly and polite. I was politely directed to what I wanted, found it easily, and then was able to spend the rest of my time just browsing. I saw a full aisle of clearance items, marked well down and I saw sale prices marked on books, there may have been in other areas that I wasnt shopping. The bathroom was clean - thats always nice! Then the checkout line was short, went quickly, and I could see the employees working there not only had a plastic divider from the customers like many other stores, but it looked like they also had plastic dividers between each other, Im guessing because the space behind the counter wouldnt allow them to remain 6ft. away from each other while working there. If thats true then I am really impressed with Joanns commitment to employee safety. Lastly, the cashier who rang up my purchases made a point of asking if I had any coupons, and then with my permission, reviewed the open app on my phone to find multiple coupons to apply towards the items I bought that day. All in all, a good experience, and I will definitely go back to that Joanns.

Joann is a fun store to browse in. I always buy more than I originally planned. They have a great stock of fabric and most of the time what I need is on sale otherwise its pretty pricey. They have a great variety of crafting items too. Every employee I came into contact with today in the Santa Maria store was friendly and went out of their way to help me.

Friendly. Shopping online and curb side pickup is great. They need to update their major League sports material...very limited and old selections. Teams change their uniforms and logos every so often...would be nice to support our teams with logos/colors from the last decade.

The store was not crowded and the supplies were plentiful! It is a great place to take your children and let them wander through and pick out projects that interest them. It is also a great place for DIY gifts for friends and co-workers. We made ornaments for everyones Christmas tree this year starting with empty, clear glass ornaments.
Felt like I had the store to myself. A bit pricey but you cant put a price on shopping in peace. ๐

To be clear this is a fabric store that has some craft supplies. I needed to go to a competitor to get the rest of the supplies needed for a project.

I prefer to go into this store versus ordering online. I try to order curbside and there is always issues. The last time I tried to order, it help 64.00 times 3 and it took a week to return the money to my account.
The staff is very friendly, extremely helpful. My phone couldnt access my online coupon and when my clerk saw my JOANNS email & it. was buffering she immediately offered to bypass & gave me my 40% off. Great customer service.

I went in today to grab some crafting items. There was only one person in line in front of me, so i didnt think it would be a long wait. Well, I was wrong. The lady in front of me was buying 75-100 individual pieces of craft paper. Yes, the cashier was scanning each individual page, which wouldnt have been bad if she had a sense of urgency given the line of 5 people waiting. She took her sweet time, turning each page over individually as she scanned them. Not once did she acknowledge the line, no thanks for being patient, Ill be with you as soon as possible. Another employee walked behind the counter, said something to the cashier, and then walked away. She also did not acknowledge the line, or make eye contact. The cashier should have called for a back up cashier as soon as she saw the massive amount of paper she was going to individually scan. I work in customer service, and would never let my staff behave this way. I definitely will not be returning after this.

Theyre very aware & care about their customers & their experience. One day, I had managed to BREAK 8 vases! I was STUNNED BY how calm-not the SLIGHTEST sign of distress or anger. And I OFFERED to pay for EACH ONE. I was ASSURED its no problem. I always leave 100% satisfied. I stopped going any DIFFERENT Craft Store & am going to remain a happy customer, of JoAnns! Sadly I feel this is the last time I will be visiting our local store. I came in with 20 minutes left before they closed knowing exactly what I needed to buy but I needed help finding where they were to make it a quick trip in and purchase my items so they could close on time. Every time I asked a different employee for help to find that specific item they simply pointed to across the store saying its over there in such-and-such area but they wouldnt bother to take me to that location and how many specifically find it so I could quickly grab it and buy it. Instead I had to leave purchasing nothing so that they could close and that is definitely all they cared about this evening. To me customer service is important regardless of the time you close. you are open until that time and obligated to help your customers to the best of your ability and unfortunately today this particular location failed at that and I hope their manager sees this and addresses the situation for future customers.

Joanns is well stocked, however we could not find any bug screen material, had to go to Home Depot...all in all the service is on point and they have nice fabrics for a decent price.
Second most fav craft store. Hav ed an exceptional fabric of/ sewing area. Good selection n sales. Clean. Staff fairly friendly. Another destination to browse n unwind. Bring money.

Not bad, the store was a bit of a mess but its post holiday sale. The item I came into buy was 20 bucks less online so they honored the online price (Joann website) but also frustrating that it was marked 20 bucks above the list price on the webpage. Theyre significantly cheaper than Michaels when it comes to cricut products so thats also a plus.
It is always nice to be greeted when walking into a store & the front counter staff always makes sure to say welcome in. When getting fabric cut, the store member inquires as to what Im making, makes sure the material is on the correct fold & inquires as to amount before cutting. Makes shopping there a pleasure!.

I just moved to santa maria in april and i was so happy to see a joann fabrics here. I shopped joanns alot in NYS.
Okay the place is generally good and fine. The layout is typical of what you would expect from a Joanns. However and this is not the fault of the young woman at the sales register but there was a huge line of people one young woman trying to bring up all our sales and is it happens every time with your lands they have to figure out what coupons go where and if you have a special gift card whatever how that figures in and it just so happens that the woman in front of me had a $5 off coupon thing for something she did and the young woman couldnt figure it out. Not her fault. So she calls someone else and theyre on the phone trying to figure it out and no resolution. Then someone appears and they again try to figure it out with no resolution and finally the woman whos trying to get $5 off of whatever on top of whatever coupon she had decided that she just had to leave. so after all of that she ends up just leaving out of frustration was just kind of like the DMV or Social Security Administration they just wear you out until you decide to give up. So if you dont mind waiting on line for quite some time the prices are good and the young people at the cashiers are relatively nice but management really needs to step up here and figure out how to move people through at a reasonable pace. I realize that everything we buy there isnt feeding the homeless or solving any world crisis but standing in line for 20 minutes simply because they cant figure out how to code a coupon is a bit much. so the low rating is because of the mismanagement of customer service rather than the prices and the overall shopping experience.

The variety here is good, and now that Beverlys and Bettys is gone, they are the only fabric store around. However, they tend to be pricey. Watch for coupons!

I got cricut on sale, so Joann store have been my favorite store lately. Ive spent atleast 1.5 hour each time i go. Wished rhey had more help or check prices machine that worked because a lot of things are misplaced and dont know actuall price.
