I shop at all the natural and health food stores in SF and this is the best. The attention to detail in terms of products is excellent, the store is spacious, they never seem to be out of anything and, most importantly, THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL!!! What a breath of fresh air.
Great little store. A little pricey but the produce and vegan selection is great. I appreciate that they make their empty boxes available for those of us who always forget our reusable bags. Repurpose, recycle, reuse. Thank you for that!
I enjoy healthy foods! If Santa Fe has plenty of anything its organic and natural farmers markets Natural Grocers being one of the many local all natural organic markets located here throughout Santa Fe.
Great in store service. I buy mostly bulk, produce and chicken. Selection is good, quickly restocked. I feel safer here from COVID than at other grocery stores.
Neat little store. I work for another like store and we would love to have the cashier working with us. She was definitely a customer service specialist. Back to this store, it was really clean and stocked. Seemed larger than our location in Jokelahoma.
Neat, clean, friendly, wonderful organic selection, good (packaged) bulk food deals on nuts, seeds+, though outrageous prices on frozen only gf/vegan breads, often out of many gf/vegan items. **Please be sure to check your receipt* as items printed there are often significantly higher prices/total compared to posted shelf regular and sale price.** This adds up for them.
Lots of great herbs and medicines. They know what theyre doing
Staff very helpful. Nice clean store with alot of natural organic items.
I have not had a good experience in this chain ever. I have gone into a Natural Grocers in Rio Rancho, Santa Fe and now Las Vegas NM. Yesterday in Las Vegas I figured Id try this location, grabbed a grab and go burrito, got to the check out, asked the cashier if there was a microwave I could put this burrito in and her reply: you know we have pandemic! No microwave, left me a bit confused, but ok! No more Natural Grocers for me!
Buy all my vitamin supplements there, there is help finding just what you are looking for.The best place to buy Gluten Free Breads and foods.
Great selection of natural foods. Wonderful vibes, always a good experience visiting this Santa Fe quality food resource. Offers products and foods not commonly available in the supermarkets or elsewhere in Santa Fe.
Awesome customer service, very clean and great prices.
I like this place. It is a little bit funky and unique.
Soso first time shopping experience Trader Joes is across from here and where we bought everything we needed
Great selection and never super crowded. Plenty of parking.
Excellent fresh produce and healthy food. Helpful employees too!
Great atmosphere! Friendly and helpful staff - everybody.
Another fine grocery store that is stocked with rare high quality foods. They always have everything I am looking for.
Great products, wonderful staff, nice location!
Friendly and helpful staff, clean store, very fresh foods, great selection of natural foods from reputable brands.
I go there to buy wheat grass for my cat which she loves. I purchased a frozen pizza there for dinner which was terrible. I only go to this store for the wheat grass. I am sure the organic products and the health products are very good, prices?
Youre always out of what ever I go there for, no matter what it is Im looking for! Why cant you keep things stocked?
A cool place that has what most stores dont great selection of vitamins as well
Because of the unusual (d.k. if its fluorescent) excruciatingly blindingly bright overhead lighting! & I love brightly lit places. I rarely shop there. When I do, I must leave as soon as possible. Otherwise it could have been 1 of my favorite stores. It has great variety of items & have sales. With focus on healthy eating, healthy living, nutrional supplements etc how ironic with all that focus on health they possibly have unhealthy or at the very least aversive lighting. It might be ok if I could remember to where sunglasses.
Very nice selection of certain things, like alternative frozen burritos/food and all sorts of supplements. Employees are friendly and helpful.
Staff always super nice and helpful. Good selection.. Easy parking, convenient next to Walgreens.
Coming from Oregon I felt this place to be charming in a cool way for a grocery store. There is this sort of organic, true joy and happiness there that shines with their staff and space as a whole. I found myself smiling and feeling at peace as I walked through the store.
Love the variety of products, the prices and weekly sales are good. Very few to almost no conventional produce, organic produce is priced reasonably.
The place was clean, the people were nice & helpful.
Always clean and stocked. Good customer service
Its a pretty good health food store. Lowest prices, in general, in town for health food. The parking is easy compared to Whole Foods!
UPDATE: August 30, 2020. Today I walked into the store for the first time since July 25, 2020. I was greeted by a security officer wearing a mask and I noted the signs on the door that said that you must wear a mask to shop here. I thanked the security officer for being there and noticed that everyone in the store was wearing a mask today. Thank you Natural Grocers. As I said in my previous review, I have always liked the store. (If I hadn’t encountered some empty spots on some shelves with certain items, I would have given you a five star rating, but some items that I was looking for were out of stock.)I’ve always liked the store, but for the last month (June and July 2020) they have not been enforcing the mask mandate. Please do the right thing and wear a mask anytime you are out in public. It’s not only a considerate thing to do, it’s the right thing to do. (July 25, 2020)
Sweet staff, quality produce, and a chill vibe!
Moderate prices. Lots of vitamins. Organic produce
Good service thanks
The people are super nice and helpful.
Nice alternative to Amazon. Great staff
I paid $9 for a half loaf of bread that was six days past expiry. Employees should do their jobs, and remove expired items from shelves, or at least pay attention to such things at checkout.Update: I returned today and found lots of expired items, located in the grab-and-go section.
Such a great store. Love the selection if organic foods and the prices on many items are really comparable or even better than other stores.
I love natural grocers for most of its variety, and definitely for the fact that it’s one of the best places to go for supplements and the such; the staff are super knowledgeable. However, there always seems to be something I want in the produce section that’s not there, and it’s a biiiiit over priced. I’ve also always been a little urked by the fact that the “bulk” section is a bunch of stuff packaged in thick plastic, I wish it were in dispensers and they’d use compostable bags! But overall this is a great place to get organic and specialty food :)
Everyone that works there is so kind. Real customer service you wont find anywhere else!
This is a great Natural Grocers! As a guest in Denver I stopped in to pick up some stuff and I was very impressed. Liked it better than my N.G. in Santa Fe. They have everything organic here, which is why I shop here but this N.G. is wonderful. What a great selection and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Four months into the global pandemic, and despite statewide public health orders and rising case counts, this store is not monitoring its capacity or enforcing the mask requirement. Sprouts and Whole Foods--heck even Walmart-- have been doing a way better job since the start of this thing. If youre an anti-masker, this might be your jam. But for those concerned about the spread of covid, go elsewhere.
I think they have a very good selection with good products. I go there often but i think their customer service is below average. They seemed annoyed when asked a question and the the last 3 times i was there they just handed my receipt without a thank you or anything.
Favorite grocery store in Santa Fe, hands down. Cheapest prices and more organic and healthy options then anywhere else in town.
My experience is that they put on sale water that is out of stock. So they write up an order for me because they were not getting it back in stock, and write on the order that I would get the sale price. After checking with them week after week they were still out saying it was not yet available. Now today almost a month later they are finally stocked with the water but refuse to give it to me at the sale price that was written on my order ticket saying they do not do rainchecks. Well they told me when I ordered it that I would get the sale price, wrote it on the ticket and now will not honor it. This is bad business and I will not be going back nor will I be recommending this store to anyone again. If you put something on sale you need to have it on the shelf. When you write up an order with sale price you must honor it. I would never treat a customer this way I am done
This grocery is a good place to include among your food shopping options. Some things are a good deal, some not, and you can save if you join their customer loyalty program - sometimes saving a lot. They do have issues with the sale prices in their frozen section not matching the register. They should really fix that since it has been happening for several months.
They dont offer curbside service and their home delivery is through Instacart. Instacart doesnt have options which limit substitutions like Smiths does. So, its easy to end up with an order that you have to reject. And if you arent fluent in Spanish, dont try to use the service in Santa Fe.
This store is larger and cleaner than the old location, but there are still problems, old and new.The persistent old problem is the staff. In both locations, the staff could not care less about its customers. The cashiers are disinterested and surly and the vibe is always uncomfortable. Asking for help in finding an item is frustrating at best because the staff always acts annoyed. Example: I asked where I could find the pregnenolone and received the withering answer, That is a hormone and WE dont sell hormones. I then asked why do they sell vitamin D, DHEA, and wild yam cream. Another withering reaction. The new location is a nightmare to get in and out of the parking lot. The checkout setup is inefficient and just plain weird. It feels hostile somehow.Sprouts and Amazon Prime have taught me that shopping for vitamins and fresh produce does not have to be miserable. I only go to Natural Grocers to buy 2 items I cannot find anywhere else. As soon as I do find sources for those 2 items, I will never go back to Natural Grocers.
I love natural grocers and find their prices to be better than whole foods and sometimes even better than sprouts. I really love the set up of the store in Santa Fe. Its big and roomy and the staff is very helpful. I think I want to live in the store lol.... But then I would spend too much money!
Very friendly very knowledgeable about their products the name says it all
Much faster service than what youd get across the street
I dont understand why Natural Grocers has so many people working there and yet no one ever bothers to stop to help you. And this isnt just the one here in Santa Fe but the one in my hometown as well. I might as well be a ghost for as much help as I get. I feel for as much as they charge their staff should be upping their customer service game. Unfortunately there are things they carry that I cant find anywhere else or else I would never return...
Its a nice store
Best place in town for organic groceries at a reasonable price. Things to be aware of – Natural Grocers tends to go out of stock on a number of things that are often staples for me which is frustrating. Particularly if an item is on sale and has been for a little while don’t expect it to be at in stock. I don’t know why this is such a problem for Natural Grocers as I don’t experience this at other local organic stores. Also I often save the bulk of my produce shopping for other stores as the produce sometimes can look a little weary. If you have experienced Natural Grocers stores in Colorado (they tend to be better stocked) this is not quite the same beast but still a good organic food shopping spot.
I love this store!! Up until two years ago, I had been a SF resident for over 30 years. It has been great to watch them grow over the years. I have always appreciated the lower prices on supplements and the very helpful and knowledgeable staff there. I go there for supplies every time I visit Santa Fe! And looking forward to going this summer.
I count on this store for cheaper herbs, vitamins, etc. The staff are ok but not super friendly. I rarely see the chair massage person there. They really should have a more private space for massage. I feel like the store just doesnt flow well. Be sure to check the expiration dates!
I come here to avoid the pretentious overcrowding at whole foods. The only thing is there is not a huge selection in meat dept
Lots of healthy options. All the produce is organic and mostly locally sourced. Their prices have gone up since they moved from the south side of town, thats the downside.
Knowledgeable staff, especially about the supplements. They are not a supermarket so selection of produce and other groceries can be limited, but they are always willing to order things for you or to keep in stock. Has a cozy feel to it, and is a great alternative to the co-op on the other side of town.
Good prices on vitamins and supplements and helpful knowledgeable staff. They also have a good selection of natural soaps and hair and skin products. I love this place
I like it here. The people are far more friendly than Trader Joes. They have more selection for skin and hair products too. Not to mention the vitamins.
I really like this grocery store. Great prices on spices and spice combos. Very good prices on bulk grains and beans too. Sprouts offers a lot of competition, but I still shop here for spices and bulk stuff.
Seems to have everything I need. The employees that were present were not helpful.
This is the place I go when I dont want to deal with the crowds of Whole Foods or Trader Joes. The selection of organic produce is nice because they just have organic. They have lots of bulk nuts and flours. And a huge, giant selection of vitamins, supplements and health & beauty aids. They also carry the dog food we use which is nice. But its a bit pricey.
Awesomeness
Natural Grocers was my favorite store before the move to the new location. There are two or three products I can only get at Natural Grocers so continue to go there very occasionally. New location is inconvenient, lots of traffic, crowded parking lot, terrible set up for check out It used to feel like a home town, unique store with lots of helpful and interesting employees. Not so anymore.
Easy bus access
I love Natural Grocers because of its straight forward, no nonsense marketing of health foods, supplements, & many other products. (And, that it started as a family venture. I forgot the woman founders name & miss seeing her & the history on the wall.) Included are your birthday card display, cotton socks, incense, finger brushes, the hollow wax candles for getting rid of ear wax, corn cob kitty litter & many other non food items, etc, etc! Plus, the staff are wonderful. And, I love the great fresh ground peanut butter & candy aisle. So, pllease dont change anything, including the radio station!
I love Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers. Their prices are excellent on frozen foods, especially when you shop the sales. They carry only organic produce, so unlike Whole Foods, you dont have to search for it amidst the conventionally grown stuff. They carry a wide array of bulk food items, much of it organic: flours, nuts, seeds, etc. AND they keep it refrigerated, so youre not buying stale/rancid items. I find the prices on their personal care products (shampoo, conditioner, make-up, etc.) to be significantly lower than other natural or organic stores. Definitely a great place to shop if you want to live healthy and save some money.
We like Natural Grocers, problem is its an hour away from Taos. We stop there everytime we go to Santa Fe.
Not crowded security there clean and most of all friendly 👍
Best, or one of the best places to stock up on vitamins & supplements. Super staff- so knowledgeable & willing to help in any way. Some groceries & produce too.
I really appreciate the lower prices, however, certain employees are very rude. There is one woman, in particular, that is so rude that I avoid shopping in the Santa Fe store. Her name is Gabriella. I really dont know why she works in a health food store. She does not reflect health in any way, especially her attitude. Why do people work with the public when they hate it so much? Get a job behind the scenes! There are some very nice workers there as well. Just a couple that are moody and depressing. I would rather shop in Albuquerque than have to experience their malice.
They have the best quality on everything!
Best deals on natural food in town
Prices are consistently the best. The produce is all organic, no guessing or checking. Good section of local prepared foods. Great selection and prices on supplements.
Great produce and selection. Friendly staff!
Great little natural food store! Can be pricey. Lots of hard to find items.
Usually the best prices in health food. Kind, attentive, and helpful employees. Well stocked, though very small and pricey selection of produce.
Good organic produce. Reasonable prices for groceries. Staff is always friendly
Love Natural Grocers. All organic produce, great ice cream selection, and they carry raw cheese! To my knowledge, they dont carry anything with GMOs, unlike Whole foods, but Im not 100% sure.
Just went to new location. Heat was really blasting-way too dry and hot. Lighting is extremely painfully bright. Bigger, still prefer older location.
I was standing in line to pay when this lady behind me told me hey lady you need to move to the next cashier! At the particular register this lady was still paying for her items. The cashier said for me to come up to his register. I felt very uncomfortable doing this because the lady before me was still paying! The cashier said that this is their policy to have two people at one register; I told him that to me this violates the privacy of the person in front of me! Then when he was ringing up my items the lady that told me to move came up right behind me while I was paying which I feel totally violated my privacy too! This store needs to rethink their policy on paying at registers! You go to other stores and their is a sign regarding the persons privacy, the next person to be helped needs to stay behind a sign/line! This store’s policy is very bad and I am not sure I want to shop at this store again!!!!!
Love the selection here. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Products you cant easily find elsewhere. My go to place for healthy options.
I used to shop there all the time, now I dont. Natural Grocers took over perfectly good store and made a terrible cash register arrangement that now makes shopping there an ordeal. The wait is long, there are never enough cashiers, and not enough help on the floor. I have waited as long as 20 minutes at 9:00 AM, although the management says it is not possible. I go to Trader Joes and breeze right through, for 1 item at Natural Grocers I have a long wait, always. The cashiers say they have hundreds of complaints a day and are ignored . The food may be good, but going there is not worth it. Management does not care. They have meaningless figures to support what they do.
I love shopping here. All organic produce, good bulk selection, fair pricing, friendly folks.
Kind of sad and worn down, but the offerings are good and the prices are lower than whole foods. The fresh nut selection is better then other places because they are refrigerated. Organic food quality is good as well.
They have dried herbs that I cant find anywhere else at very reasonable prices. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
One of Santa Fes best organic food and supplement stores
Very wide selection of natural foods, supplements, and organic produce. I have found products here I cant find anywhere else. I would give 5 stars however, I have not had a good check out process mainly because the cashiers are not very friendly to me.
Love the new Natural Grocers store. Wish they were as knowledgeable as the Albuquerque and Colorado stores, but theyre pretty good for Santa Fe.
Havent been back in a long time. Very disappointed over lack of help, lack of knowledgeable staff and prices.
If you are into natural foods and vitamins this is a great place. Lots of variety.
Great organic grocery store!
Always get your eggs here. Best price in town.
Decent selection for less than common items like vegan or local products. Love the frozen mushroom medley, cant find this anywhere else in town and it is great for soups and stir frys.
Love this store. Has all the fresh organic produce I need and Lillys chocolates
