So glad this place exists! We needed an easy up tent and they had a bunch in stock. Very friendly staff, too. I appreciated the help getting the tent to my car.

The store is clean but a little over priced unless you are buying shops. The employees are nice and helpful.

Great place!!! I was asked by three different employees if I needed help or assistance. Since I couldnt find my size for swimwear an employee went out of the way to order it for me! This was done on a previous occasion while shopping for walking/running shoes for my wifes birthday. They arrived later and was notified by an employee. The store has a great selection of merchandise with sales, special pricing, discounted shoe area, and online special pricing! And the weekly advertisement that comes out. Ive worked in retail in management and district areas and know a good operation and well trained employees. Employees and management here deserve praise for their efforts. I now work with five star resorts/hotels and can often see good customer service. It was nice to walk into this Big 5 store in Santa Fe and be greeted and then asked if I needed any assistance. Way to go team and keep up the great service!!! Store Manager owes you some 🍕 PIZZA !!! 😃

Super friendly staff. Had what I was looking for (a fabric resistance band) and found a nice pair of shoes for my son on sale for $50 off. They also had their doors propped open for air flow which was nice.

Great service the staff knew what they were talking about or able to answer all of our questions and were nice enough to get discounts and other things on a pair of shoes that I was buying that wasnt clearance but had no markings so everything was helped out and was able to have a nice experience.

Had to wait a bit for someone to see if they had shoes in my size since they were dealing with a difficult customer, but then he got free and brought some out for me. I bought two new pairs. Store was clean and workers were nice.

A lot of empty shelves, probably due to covid supply issues. Was much better stocked a year and a half ago. Still ok though. Hopefully it will get better when the pandemic is behind us.

Pretty good place to get generic equipment. Not a huge selection of guns (only rifles and long guns) but should have ammo every Tuesday when their truck comes in. Huge selection of shoes and a good variety of sports equipment. Also has paddle boards and kayaks and even sleds!

Always find something I need and they have good sales. Store is always clean and orderly. The only weird thing which i dont mind is the staff never really interacts with the customer until youre ready to pay, and a couple of times I had to go find an employee to help me and had to wait til the employees were done chatting to ask for assistance. So a little lacking in the customer service department.

Cool store. Staffs not helpful. In there for 20 minutes saw half a dozen workers looked in every department no one ever asked me if I needed anything. Most were text messaging.

I found shoes today at a fair price. The staff were nice and patient. This was an improved shopping experience as compared to before. I asked for a Buff. They said they were out but I found a few. The down side it that they forgot to take of the big magnetic security tag. That required a return trip to get that off, bummer.

They were available and walked me directly to what I was looking for every time.I was able to get the exact snow shovel I came in for, and Im really happy with the quality and variety of tactical pants from which I could choose for my husband.My only complaint (nothing to do with staff) - Why doesnt this location carry womens tactical pants? They didnt run out. They dont have them in inventory.Otherwise, a delightful experience.

Great place to find common sporting items. From field sports, kayaking, golf, and many other. You can also purchase NM State wildlife permits. Need a credit card to purchase permits.

Well I must say I’m not one for writing review but this is beyond me. I have been in the world of customer service for almost 10years now and never have I seen such a rude employee as Heather, one of the blond cashiers, absolutely disrespectful and disgusting attitude almost made me want to call corporate big 5 but I don’t have enough time or energy to waist on a despicable person like her. She was zero help and she was not willing to change her attitude sad to say they will be loosing many many customers with her on staff

Decent prices, much better than some other big box stores. I think their winter hours could be better, seeing as a lot of people try to buy last minute things before they go skiing and having to wait until 10 really puts a damper on a ski day if you get there late. Their system also seems antiquated. I went to exchange an item and forgot my receipt, most places can find it if you have the same card you paid with but they said I had to have it. Not a huge complaint but it keeps me from giving 5 stars. So for now they are a BIG 4!

This place is pretty special. You can find some good deals, especially if you get the emails. The downside is that some of the product is about as low in quality as you can find. Many of the cheap footwear items are poorly made. Some even have hollow pockets in the soles which cause the footwear to not support the foot - we aint talking Air Jordans, just the absence of reasonable construction. That means the person with a limited budget who came in to buy something they can actually afford will be back again in two months or be hobbling down the sidewalk to the bus stop.

I was purchasing 1 item at the register and when my store credit didnt work, I pulled out another payment method. While I was mid sentence, the cashier walked to the other register, flagging those behind me so he could assist them. I had my card out before he even got there, within about 4 seconds. He never said a word before walking away and I patiently waited but when he finished, he didnt come back. Rather, he spoke to another employee, both of whom were just 2 feet from me. It was bizarre and awkward. I stood there waiting trying to pay but ended up walking out since they clearly wouldnt help me. There was nothing leading up to this to cause this behavior- Im absolutely baffled. Im not going to shop at a place who treats someone so poorly.

Run of the mill Big 5 Sports. Store is on the small size and not all of the inventory is on the shelves. However, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. That moves the store from 3 to 4 Stars.

I was there for 1 hour and not the workers or management asked me if i needed help. Then i would ask them questions if they had certain colors, brands any question i asked they would reply with what ever we have there is all we have then i bought 5 items there 2 of the items had clarence prices and there register did not ring up at the clearance price, so they did NOT HONOR IT. THEN!!! When i walked away they did not remove any security tages of the 5 items i bought. I walked to the door and back to the register twice till they finally relized they NEVER took any off. I HAD A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE (you could see on the first price tag that there is 3 different prices on there and charge me the highest one)

I love Big 5...if you love CAMPING & knives...shop! Look for ads in paper online, just visit...think of it, that extra room in your dreams...
