I would like to recommend Erica Ortiz Berke, NeuBleu, because she was such a great help with my home restoration project. A few years ago, my husband retired and we bought our dream home in Santa Fe and wanted to restore the look of an Old Santa Fe style, Pueblo-Spanish house. We wanted to create a traditional old world look along with contemporary updating.  Erica came up with a plan that met our budget and coordinated all the finishings, cabinets, counter, wall tile, and flooring materials. Then she helped us select handsome, functional lighting, plumbing fixtures and hardware throughout. She involved us in the decision making, and it was fun, exciting and gratifying to work with her.

Erica is an incredibly talented decorator. She quickly learned my tastes and even though this project was on a budget, she put together a beautiful living room that matched me, and my home. Thank you so much! I highly recommend her and I will do business with Neubleu again.

When we originally approached Neubleu it was with the intent that Neubleu provide interior design only. Neubleu (Ms. Ortiz) insisted she could also provide a floor plan and construction drawings. NeuBleu required 50% be paid up front in order to begin work. In this case it was $8,114.The work produced by NB was not only incomplete but was not reflective of what we originally contracted NB to do. Since the beginning we were clear verbally with written and visual direction as to what we expected. However, many of our needs had to be repeated verbally or by e-mail. Over the coarse of a year and a half we had to repeatedly initiate contact regarding progress because we would not hear from NB for months at a time. With every plan submitted corrections had to be made because the drawings were not done according to our specifications. We made several attempts at making it work with NB including agreeing to move our master bedroom upstairs even though that was not what we wanted. This was largely because NB was unable to design the Foyer with the master on the first floor. The portions of the plan that did work, are largely based on the clippings, sketches, and a Pulte floor plan we shared with NB. And these areas only came together after many corrections and references to the sketches and clippings. The last plan presented had a huge overhang on the upper floor; leading us to conclude that it was time to move on. We received no usable original designs by NB.It is important to note that in the end the plans were not only incomplete but were substandard and contained many errors. (See final plan attached). We realized that if there were this many errors and issues with a plan we could understand it would be more difficult to trust that there would be no errors in the construction drawings.Upon cancellation we were provided with a final bill, which was converted to an hourly rate. This bill included charges for time spent correcting previous errors and putting in items forgotten by NB, which led up to the termination of the contract. It is clear by the attached that NB entered into an agreement without the ability to comply. In the end, NB kept our entire Down payment of $8,114. Upon our insisting that the bill was unfair we received a letter of refusal. We sadly have since learned that it is unusual to require such a large deposit (50% in this case) when there are no materials needed to purchase.Lesson learned. Do your research on every business even those belonging to those you once called friend.
