This bookstore spans generations for me. From my grandparents, relatives, and now me- we have all shared these shelves and the words that fill them. They have a large collection of books spanning from local authors and small publications that you cannot find anywhere else, to the top sellers on the NYT. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and wont just recommend normal books to you when you ask. I love this place so much.
Amazing selection of popular best sellers as well as local works! Well organized and inviting. Staff is very accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly! There is a coffee shop inside with ample seating. Also, you can order books online and pick up in store!
Wow very nice love this place, loved the coffee and customer service, great to see a place like this thriving. It’s a lovely place, it has the vibes of a 1990s Seattle coffeehouse, I am finally home!
Excellent selection of new books with a noticable focus on under-represented authors and books with social relevance (yay!). Great ambiance. The attached cafe had delicious gluten-free pastries!
Great local place to get books helpful staff with good recommendations of they dont have it they can order it.
Great bookstore with a great coffee shop and plenty of seating. I love it!!
Amazing selection of books, very helpful in helping you find what youre looking for and if you dont find it they will order it for you. Highly recommend!
I come from book cities( Portland and Seattle) and have to say I LOVED this bookstore. In the small side compared to Powells or Elliot Bay bookstores, BUT curated for the uniqueness of this city and region, While still having a fairly diverse selection. I liked this better than the Georgia OKeefe museum.
Looks like they had a decent selection of books. We found a Good Night New Mexico to add to my grandsons collection of Good Night books.
Great coffee shop/bookstore. They have tons of selections, will help you get anything you need, gift wrap, and allow dogs inside.
Nice experience, played a game of chess there. Good bookstore.
Just a fine place to go and nice staff
Good selection, great service, good coffee, reading area.
I recently ordered books to be sent to my grandchildren for Christmas. The process was so easy. I told them what ages, what I was looking for and they picked out the perfect books! They even wrapped them before shipping them across the country. Amazing customer service. Please, remember to support your local book store!
Really nice selection of books, and a spacious coffee shop to enjoy said books. My kinda place
Great environment to read and enjoy a good book.
Cool place. Look at the Billy the kid jail cell. A definite must see.
Always ❤... a great sanctuary
So grateful for this independent book store!
Traveling with my husband means stopping at every bookstore along the way.. he goes to bookstores while I go to Bullseye Glass Resource Center. THEY ARE CLOSED!? Curbside pickup only :(
Great bookstore, love the vibes in there!
Collected Works... Truly, the coffee they make is among the bests Ive ever had -- that alone should be enough for you to take a break in your stressful days, stop by and just relax a bit here while reading a great book.Friendly and down-to-earth staff, relaxing environment, a decent selection of books. All an all, a perfect spot that reminds me of the coffee houses of the Pacific Northwest.
We were visiting Santa Fe during Covid and drove 30 minutes to come here specifically. No indication on google that it was curbside only - just say you’re closed on google to avoid this !
Beautiful place & people. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly. Recommended very much to sit and have a look in the great collection of books. Great music. Thank You.
Excellent selection of books. Strong on books for the well-read customer. I wanted to buy an armful! That doesnt often happen with me. Helful staff and pleasant coffee shop attached
This is a nice, old-fashioned local bookstore, with the added benefit of having a pretty good little coffee shop operating in it. The layout is cozy, making you want to linger and look. The staff is friendly and helpful. The assortment of books is extensive, with a healthy section of books about the area, as well as volumes by and about the Native American tribes. It is easy to spend money at a nice store like this.
I love collected works! Their wonderfully curated selection of books is modest but mighty and you are always sure to find a tall stack of intriguing reads. The beautiful cafe area is quiet and perfect for cracking open your new treasures while sipping a coffee. A must whenever Im downtown!
Perfect for the avid reader! Great assortment of book titles, awesome staff and the atmosphere is perfect! Paradise for book lovers!
I cant say enough how much I love this place! A solid bookstore with wonderful staff and the food is fantastic.
Loved this bookstore, it was vintage and the workers were polite and very helpful! I didn’t stay for coffee but will make time next time. Definitely a great place to visit if your a bookworm.
Very cool store. Really love the recommendation labels under the books. Im use to buying all my books on amazon or Half Price Books so the books seem really expensive.
Very nice bookstore. Pretty large collection of native books. Coffee was good. Both bookstore and coffee shop have very friendly and helpful staff. Always look forward to visiting when Im in Santa Fe.
Collected Works is a gem of an old-fashioned bookstore, with a surprising number of titles and a well-informed, helpful staff. The author talks are generally packed, with an engaged audience and fascinating writers. Winters here are particularly lovely; order a cup of rich, hot coffee and sit by the fire with your new book. I love it here.
I can’t believe how rude this person was when I asked to look up a book !!!! Also she was upset cause I wouldn’t give her my credit card over the phone !!!! I don’t ever do that!!!!!
Nice place to take a book and sneak into it while drinking a coffee or tea. There are restrooms too, opened by a code visible at the register. Staff was friendly and we bought a book. Nice environment, noone hassled us to speed up drinking our tea. Were able to charge our phone too. Good place to hang out as a tourist.
This is not a typical book store, but more of a left-wing propaganda distribution center. I was hoping to buy a book to read while traveling, but not only is any balance unavailable, but you are presented with all the very extreme stuff circulating right now. The ambiance was nice and the espresso was good, but the coffee service was poor and slow, and the staff unfriendly. Don’t waste your time coming here if you’re seeking out a well-balanced book store.
The owner of the bookstore swore at me while my husband was on the phone talking to the coffee shop manager about the rude comments made to us by the server. The lowest denominator. No civility. One of the coffeeshop customers was taking pictures of me, when I asked him to stop he swore at me. Beware not to ask for organic coffee. The server will give you a diatribe on the cost of organic coffee in so called poor countries.
Terrible unhelpful employees who give attitude when asked to check the computer for whats in stock rather than give a half hearted guess, and the coffee shop refuses to make even simple beverages as they wont steep tea--tea that they have and sell. One of the most disappointing independent bookstores I have ever been to, consistently and every time I visit Santa Fe.
Lovely homey bookstore with mom and pop feel you cant find at Barnes & Noble. The clerks have read the books and are capable of discussing their favorite reads and the current bestsellers. They dont have everything here, but theyll go out of their way to try and get what you want.
Very disappointed to say the least! I ordered a copy of The Thrill of the Chase weeks ago and requested a signature copy. I was told the author would be in store a few days later and they would ship my copy after he signed some more. That was perfectly acceptable. I get an email today stating that they are now out of copies and dont expect any more until June. Are you kidding me?!! I paid weeks ago and somehow managed to to be swept under the rug because I am not standing in the store. This is not how you do business!! I was a 20+ year New Mexico native and was excited to learn about this book from an online news article. I was really looking forward to reading this book since life has lead me to the East Coast. Now all I have is the memory of some poor customer service. Thanks for nothing Collected Works.
A beautiful bookstore and coffee shop with a good selection of books. They even have sections highlighting local and Native American authors.
This is a city treasure. Its beautiful inside and out. Wonderful staff, amazing book selection, and great coffee inside. Always worth a visit.
Old school bookstore charm.Great selection. Great staff.Love the book openings.Coffee-tea bar excellent.
Nice collection of books and cute cafe with delicious coffee. We also got a chocolate raisin scone that exceeded my expectations for flavor.
Great bookstore. Excellent coffee bar with refreshingly sharp service. If you have high standards for a latte, this is your place in Santa Fe.
Dorothy and family are a Santa Fe staple. The book store is large, but very cozy. Lots of books on almost every subject and a coffee bar, with a large fireplace that is always going in the winter months. A great place to relax and read in the heart of Santa Fe.
Excellent local bookstore on the periphery of old town Santa Fe. Nice collection of Native American books as well as local authors. Excellent coffee shop as well.
Chill environment. New bookstore without the feel of the big brand stores. Decent selection compared to other stores in the area. Nice cafe
Very nice and chill place. Customer service is excellant and there are quite a few nice shops and restaurants in this area to checkout after you are done with the bookstore. I visited here because of Forrest Finns memoirs are exclusively sold here. His books are really high quality and a work of art in and of themselves.
Cool coffee house. Great for taking time out from exploring the Santa Fe at district.
This is a hidden gem! It is so cute, and I found exactly what I needed! Definitely worth a visit!
One of the better bookstores in Santa Fe. Very hipster vibe, but from my experience, nobody were jerks there. We know do about 95% of our book shopping there, and will continue to do so. I havent yet had the opportunity to try the coffee though.
Fancy enough, but a limited selection. Didnt have the book I wanted, but its alright. Not my favorite bookstore but it certainly isnt the worst. Coffee is good.
Montreal style bagels are delicious! Everyone who works here is super nice. I just wish the bookstore had more books in Spanish.
This is a respected local institution. Expect outstanding author events and other programs.
Terrible customer service. Beware. I ordered Forrest Fenns book, Thrill of the Chase. The woman taking my order over the phone seemed annoyed that i did not use the online website to order the book. I explained i had trouble using the online order site and their webpage stated to call them if i encountered any problems. The shipping box arrived at the post office where i receive my mail several days later with the box open and nothing in it. My post office had stamped the box with the message parcel open upon arrival. I spoke to the USPS supervisor who stated the box was open upon arrival. We both examined the box and it appeared one end had never been sealed by tape or glue flaps. Like it had intentionally been left open so the book would fall out because i annoyed the clerk. The USPS supervisor advised me to refuse the package so it could be sent back and i could request a refund. which i did. I called the bookstore and again spoke with the same clerk. I told her i was going to write a bad review regarding my experience. The clerk inexplicable said, Well everyone else will just have to pay more for the book then I dont understand this comment. She said she couldnt help me but she would take my name and number and have the shipping team call me on Monday. I called them on Monday and the fellow that answered the phone said he had heard that i would call but my phone number had been lost by them. I personally feel this is a spiteful group of people working at this bookstore. They didnt want to be inconvenienced by taking my phone order, even though their web site states to call them if you have problems, they were going to inconvenience me by leaving one end of the shipping box open so the book would fall out thus hoping i would request another book, which at this point its bad energy and i dont want anything from them and they conveniently lost my phone number so they would be able to keep the $48 i paid for the book...costing me $48..beware dealing with these people. Also i think they post the same book on Amazon for $90 to encourage people to buy the book through them for $35 plus $13 shipping charge. Beware. You may just end up receiving a box full of air. I wonder if Forrest or the owner is aware of this.
Dorothy has created a true Santa Fe treasure that deserves all our support.
Love you guysn gals! Book store is fabulous and the coffee is eee awesome. Thanks you and keep up your great service. See ya soon
Awesome coffeehouse and bookstore, a nice respite from the tourist laden downtown. Plus it smells great in there!
New books. Coffee. Fireplace. Public restroom. French sofa with faux cow hide upholstery.
Nice coffee and good hot chocolate for the kids. They took care to make it not too hot for them. Very friendly service.
Really good horchata latte by the wood-burning fireplace. Wish Id had more time to peruse the books. From what I saw on my way out, good selection with lots of interesting titles.
Helpful, personable, and informed bookseller. There was a book club meeting when I was there, in the coffee shop section. Clear signs for book sections, clean with attractive displays. Broad selection in this general interest bookstore. Plus Eileen Myles is reading tonight!
Wonderful selection of books, friendly staff and a great place for coffee and a bite/snack.
Great books to read nice to have cappuccino to relax with.
Working here on our laptops and enjoying very good coffee drinks was 👌
An amazing independent bookstore that caters to the needs of the community. What more can one ask for?
One of my favorite places. I love how late they are open and the events they host. The book selection puzzles me sometimes, as they seem to carry arbitrary books out of some series (in one case, a widely disliked 8th book in a beloved series of 14) but its a great place to discover things you may not have heard of.
Very welcoming and locally informative for the was a community gathering in progress on local development concerns
I love bookstores. I never buy a book online, and try to support both new and used bookstores. This place is just plain awful. Ive tried to give them my support for over five years now, and always leave empty handed. The staff cant be bothered to assist customers, are never helpful, dont seem to know anything about any of their books or how to look up if they have a book in stock. Twice when I have asked if I could order a book, they told me it would be better to just keep checking back. Today they didnt have Woodwards new book, Fear, nor could they tell me when, or even if they ever would. I was told to...Just keep checking back......
Just off Santa FE plaza the bookstore is a great space with a good selection of books. It is a combination cafe also. Good vibes
Great atmosphere and service. A pleasant place to buy a book and read it while sipping coffee or tea.
A great place for great books, quiet introspection and conversation...
Awesome bookstore with pretty good coffee. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Must stop if you like books and coffee.
The bookstore shares space with Iconik coffee roasters. You cant beat the combination of good books and good coffee.I was looking for a book for my grand-daughter, specifically something at her reading level (8 years old), that would expose her to native american customs. I was so pleased by the selection in this niche. I can only believe that they are equally well stocked in all other genres / niches.
Wonderful selection of books but staff at desk and at coffee area very aloof and not particularly welcoming. Love dogs but not sprawled on the pretty divan in the eating area! Sure the health department would not approve nor would someone want to sit there later.
Wonderful place spend the afternoon, get a coffee, and a book. Very relaxing, great selection of books and has lots of comfy seating!
Classic Santa Fe Bookstore. Cozy comfortable atmosphere. Dog-Friendly place. Staff is courteous, friendly and professional. The Iconik Coffe is great. Great place to sit and relax after walking the Plaza area.
My favorite place in Sante Fe to get cozy with a book and sip chai. It has all the feels and everyone around speaks gently or has their head buried in a book. Can a reading environment get any better?
Great coffee and a big selection of books, the service was fast.
Great bookstore, not huge but I always leave with 1 or 2 books I am totally excited to read and did not know about before entering. Going in is like open a great surprise present, unexpected and really cool. The coffee just keeps getting better, today that barista rocked a horchata and 2 lattes for us, thank you barista who ever you were. Highly recommend!
Very friendly staff, great coffee and plenty of outlets to plug in and work for a bit. Nice bookstore as well. Bathrooms are kinda tricky to find, but just ask a staff member, they seem to get that question a lot.
Beautiful store. Excellent selection. Knowledgeable staff. Everything you want in a bookstore
Wonderful place to browse, have a cup of joe, and people watch.
Very rude. Don’t go there.
Friendly staff, eclectic book selection, great coffee/tea shop, continuous events such as the book launch last night for Hung Like a SeaHorse. It doesnt get better then this for a bookstore!
Great, old fashioned book store and cafe! Please support this wonderful shop!
Although theyre under construction due to renovations, this is an excellent bookstore for anyone interested in a great selection of local interest titles (fiction, nonfiction, art, and kids).
Super cute place, great coffee and gluten free options. Also great live music on Saturday mornings!
Great coffee, these guys are pros. One of the very best coffee spots in town and they really rake coffee seriously. They roast it, they do pour overs, they even weigh the coffee grounds for every shot of espresso that they make.Great collection of books as well btw.
Unfriendly staff. Feels like it is an inconvenience for them to help. Nicely laid out shop.
Owner complains in meetings about other businesses that have been there far longer than theirs. No community spirit.
Super friendly and helpful! They hide the good stuff in the back.
