7/24/21: I traveled to this uniquely perfect gem in a torrential downpour. So....be prepared for narrow roads and one-ways streets. Once you get there your trip is worth it..I felt so relaxed, at home, loving how many different rooms in this gorgeous space just kept expanding at every turn I made. I thought Id spend 30 minutes in here. No way...be prepared to spend a lifetime in The Ark.I bought 6 different incense at a very reasonable price and love how each smells. The scents are not overpowering and each gave me the energy I was seeking for varying moods. Friend bought an elegant wind chime that sounds so perfect pitched.I will absolutely be back to spend hours discovering many new adventures in The Ark.

Its one of my favorite bookstores in the country. Beautifully curated wonderful products. Incredible jewelry. I always find something I treasure there. Great staff reasonable prices.

I loved this store! It went on forever! Their book selection is amazing! Their gem and crystal selection is huge! There is so much to look at and so much to buy! The only reason I give this 4 stars is because I was not greeted at all. A simple hello would have been nice. When trying to cash out, it was literally like pulling teeth to get someone to even notice me at the register. I just expected a warmer welcome considering what kind of store it is.

Really great place for self knowledge items and gifts. The prices are very good and theres alot to see throughout the store. I could look around for hours. The sales people are nice and helpful.

Dont waste your time here. The staff are immature and unprofessional and its too commercialized. Prana Blessings is better (though personally I prefer the metaphysical shops in Albuquerque like those at Pagan Pride).

I was told by someone about The Art Bookstore, and I knew I had to while visiting Santa Fe! I was not disappointed. I spend so much time wandering through the store. I bought some really beautiful gifts and I couldnt be happier. Both with my experience of shopping there and the actual gifts I received. They also play awesome music :)

Love this GEM of a store!

A nice little shop for items spiritual, religious, and metaphysical. Mostly commercially available type products, but a wide selection thereof. Convenient location near the Santa Fe railyard with a walking path between the two. A good place to check out if youre in the area for the Farmers Market or the passenger rail.

This is my Go-To place in Santa Fe. They have an extensive selection of books, Oracle & tarot cards as well as beautiful crystals. It’s easy to spend time in this laid back atmosphere. Expect all manner of service and kindness from the employees.

The Ark is a wonderful place to spend time while shopping for a thoughtful gift for anyone on your list...or yourself. As you wander from room to room there is a wide selection of books for every philosophy and age group, beautiful objects and delightful surprises. Best to go when you have time to look. This is not a place you are going to want to have to hurry through.

I have enjoyed shopping at the Ark in the past. However, my sister and I had a horrible experience there this morning. A woman behind the counter yelled at me from afar to put my mask above my nose. I quickly had it down to breathe. She then harassed my sister and started yelling at her. What compassion she has shown through these trying times. Even though there is a Pandemic it does not allow employees to yell at customers and be so intense that you make us want to leave and purchase nothing from the store. I did not catch the womans name, but I will not be back to the Ark for quite some time and hopefully when I go back in, she will show more compassion to a complete stranger she knows nothing about...and maybe she will keep some customers for her store. The other two ladies were lovely, so its unfortunate their counterpart was so horribly rude!

This is my absolute favorite book & crystal store. I grew up in Santa Fe so I’ve been going there since I was a child and it holds a special place in my heart. I now live in Denver, CO and have travelled a bit but have yet to find another store with similar ambience. I miss the calming scent when you walk in the door and the kind ladies who are always so helpful. I make sure to always stop by Ark Books each time I visit Santa Fe and buy a new book or piece of jewelry to keep with me. I hope you all stay open forever, you are such a staple in the Santa Fe community and we are so lucky to have you! Thank you for all you do. ♥️

This is in response to the 1 star review left by M Gomez on July 22nd. I was a customer in the store at the same time as you and your sister, and I observed the whole interaction. What you have failed to include in your review was that the staff approached you and your sister SEVERAL times asking politely for you to properly wear your masks (pulling it down under your nose is not the proper way...please educate yourselves). It was your blatant disregard for the staff and the rest of us in the store that caused the escalation and eventually them asking you to leave. Quite frankly, Im so thankful they did, as I myself was on the verge of confronting you. It is a shame that staff at ANY establishment have to babysit adults, continually monitoring for behavior that is mandated by the Governor, again, please educate yourselves. You both should be ashamed.

Fabulous! A hidden gem. From Tibetan singing bowls to divining runes, this little new age bookstore has a fantastic selection. Its clean and no one is pushy. A real treat.

I love this little shop. Its hidden in the alleyway behind the Violet Crown. Their selection of stones and books is incredible, they Feature work by local artists, they have a neat toy section, and a quiet spot to sit and read. A bookstore like no other! Everyone has a spiritual path and this shop has books statues incense calendars books on tape for most major religions and spiritual ways of life and practice. I have been in many other book stores of the same nature but this one I think is the best by far, worth finding hidden away in Santa Fe that are GPS had no issues finding the store

I love this place. So peaceful as soon as you walk into the courtyard. Great place to find things that would be hard to find everywhere else. I have bought a couple of tarot books here and last time I went I noticed a great section on books about dying (which I was looking for because of a colleague who was grieving).

I have been going to the Ark for many years. its not just a bookstore its a true Sacred Space in Santa Fe hidden away on a tiny little Street. Its a place in Santa Fe that feeds the soul. And the book selection is really good. I highly recommend going to the Ark if spiritual life is your passion.

When the description of this business read a metaphysical wonderland I admit it, I rolled my eyes. Three steps inside and I had to clearly vocalize my apologies for being so cynical; it is, literally, a metaphysical wonderland. The selection of material related to any and all aspects of the metaphysical practices can be found here, along with a ridiculously well rounded selection of other goods, from clothing to art objects, to jewelry, and oh yeah. Amazing selection of books. Its clean, bright, well organized, and every member of staff that we came in contact with was helpful and attentive without being overbearing or pushy. Definitely will return.

The Ark is my favorite store in Santa Fe by far. I discovered it my junior year and have been going back ever since! They have everything you could ever want, from incense to minerals, to books and clothes. I love this place. I wish I could find some place like this back in Louisiana.

I usually have an amazing experience here. I come about once or twice a year because I live so far away and Im always treated great. I usually spend between $100-$200 a visit and am 100% happy with my purchases. The lady last night was really nice to everyone including my daughter but her attitude tottaly shifted to negitive and short with me upon my turn to check out. I wasnt rude and while I was shopping kept telling my daughter how much I look forward to shopping in this store and just being inside. I dont have anything like this store where I live so its a big deal for me to get to visit the Ark bookstore. My daughter was the one who pointed out to me how nice the lady was to all the other customers but was overly rude to me. I wont be back which is sad. I dont go to store to spend good money that I could spend elsewhere to be treated badly. I understand that me only going in a few times a year doesnt bring good money to them but that also doesnt mean I will put up with bad treatment because Im not a local.

This place is a real hidden gem. Probably the coolest metaphysical bookstore Ive ever been in. This place has an incredible book selection. I could really spend days purusing through all their books. They also have a huge selection of gems, minerals and crystals. They have a clothing section, jewelry, statues, ritual implements and large selection of incense. They even have a childrens section. Theres few places like this left in the world and I hope they never go away. Amazon cant give you atmosphere and ambiance like this. A must see for anyone spiritually inclined in Santa fe. What Selection for This pagan healer. !!! We happened upon ARK after coming to SF & finding good ol Georgia OKeefe was Closed . So glad. I can see GOK .. online but the Ark is like Heaven, tangible. I couldnt afford the jewelry but was so tickled to find an entire library of Tarot Cards, crystals, candles, books all across the board & a sense of magick. . Thank you, Ark, for the wonderful vibes in SF .
