Theyre anything but fast and dont seem to like honoring warranties. I got my timing chain and head gasket fixed there, which took them like two weeks. They assured me that because Id spent so much money on it that theyd take care of any issues that came up.A few months later my engine started making a death rattle. I called to see if theyd check if it was related to the work theyd done. The mechanic on the phone sounded annoyed and scheduled me a week out.When I brought it in, they had my truck all day and never called me. When I finally called, they said their mechanic they wanted to look at it was out on vacation and Id need to schedule a week or two out to have it inspected.I has to take it somewhere else, where it did turn out to be a tension issue with the timing belt. Had to pay someone else to fix it. Never dealing with these clowns again.

This place deserves 10 stars!! We came in 2 days before leaving town, needing a major transmission repair before leaving on a long road trip. Another shop in town told me it would be two weeks or more. Jim and his crew worked hard to pull off an absolute miracle, getting my van back in a record amount of time for all the work that needed to be done!! They are knowledgeable and friendly and I would not go anywhere else.

2012 Passat.. Stranded in Santa Fe - No power. While we were traveling from SoCal, with our new puppy, we had stopped for some lunch and sights in Santa Fe when the 2012 VW Passat had lost all power. We were truly blessed to be within a mile of Jims shop FAST Foreign. Jim and his staff were amazing, friendly, and so helpful. Have never witnessed a more customer focused and honestly just genuinely friendly automotive shop in my 58 years. Jim and his team not only diagnosed, found an alternator to have delivered from Albuquerque, installed it and had the car ready to go in less than 5 hours. . .. they did everything they could to make us feel like close friends as we waited on site for the repairs to be completed. At first we, as anyone would have, thought the day was turning out to be a real bummer. But honestly, everything was so calm, professional and friendly, we really enjoyed our day there. Packed our car up, loaded the puppy and went on to our destination for that night in Lubbock,TX. No issues. Jim, thank you for your sincere kindness, fast and professional service and fair prices. We really are blessed to have met you and your team and thank you for getting us back on the road so amazingly fast. And thanks for letting hang out on your great porch out front !!!

FAST rescued my 1983 VW Vanagon (and me!). New head gaskets, valves, computer.....the owner Jim Shortle and his son, Jim are excellent mechanics, very knowledgeable and above all else kind and fair.

I was driving from LA to North Carolina for a move. We got into Santa Fe late afternoon on a Friday and started to smell gas in the cabin of our 2013 Audi Allroad. About 10 minutes out from our camp site the engine light came on. We had a strict itinerary to keep to and had reservations at a campground in Amarillo, TX the following night.A little panicked by all the stress of moving, finding services during the Pandemic, and now having to stay in town instead of camping in the open air....we called for help.Jim at FAST was incredible. He talked us through everything, got us in early Saturday, recommended places to stay and things to see in town, and when we dropped our car off he even drove us over to a nice breakfast spot himself!He updated us through the morning on what he thought could be going on with the car and his experience with German autos was evident. Our car has been babied and should not have any major problems at 80,000 miles. Sure enough Jim took care of everything, did the safest and minimum service he thought we needed and assured us we would make it across country.I am writing this a week later after putting over a thousand more miles on the car getting to our new home.I highly recommend FAST, and I will likely call him for advice when we get serviced in NC.

I was extremely disappointed the service I received at Fast-Foreign and surprised because they had such good reviews. I went in because I had a maintenance light on in my Honda Fit. I also needed a headlight replaced. I asked the owner the price for the headlight and he gave some long answer saying he needed to look at it first. I expected him to come back and give me information and the price, so I could decide whether I wanted that work done, but he did not, instead he went ahead and put in the headlight without my permission and without discussion and charged me $60 for it. He was also very unpleasant when I asked any questions. I definitely would not go back to this place.

In the process of moving from northern CO to southern AZ on a tight schedule, my 2005 BMW began making horribly loud noises on the highway. Luckily, we were passing Santa Fe and found Fast Foreign auto. Within 15 minutes of pulling in with no advance notice, Jim was diagnosing my car and making sure we were safe to continue driving. He even recommended several nearby attractions for us to visit while we waited (only 1 hour!). I highly recommend Fast Foreign auto and was blown away by their kindness, flexibility, and clearly abundant experience. Thank you!

Our VW van broke down while on a road trip through New Mexico. We asked some of our VW people who could help us in Santa Fe. The response was unanimous, these were the guys to see. They made time for us during a busy holiday week, worked out multiple iterations of solutions to a tricky problem, and were good people to hang out and chat with. Really nice people, but I question their motives. I arrived at this conclusion after moving parts wore out too fast, they replaced double the parts that were needed (which I knew better than to let them do) then tried to convince me I either needed a new car or more parts. After getting home I had my mechanic look everything over including the recommended parts to be replaced and found no damage to the suggested replacements. Comments I received while explaining my vehicles history and needs were, “if you don’t care about your car” and “I don’t know if you’re madly in love with the car or just planning to drive it to the ground”. To be clear, my car IS a salvage title with an engine that is in excellent condition. I shared this information with them. There are some body issues that have been present the entire 5 Years I have owned it, but why on earth would I need a new car?Jim said I was a “smart woman”, but he still under estimated my intelligence even after getting twice what was actually needed out of me.

Aligned my wheels in reasonable amount of time, as quoted when I first called. I was offered a great cup of coffee, some good conversation about travel and German cars. Two guys talking cars and becoming friends. Doesnt get any better. Check it out. These guys know what theyre doing.

This is the only shop in town that didnt try to sell me more repair work than I needed. It was a small job (that others tried to blow up into a bigger one, claiming more damage than was actually there), they were able to do it immediately, and gave me an accurate, honest, no-frills assessment. At my request, they also sized up another bodywork issue I asked about, and found a low-cost solution at a fraction of the cost other shops were quoting.These are the go-to guys for good, basic work with no unnecessary add-ons. Their basic oil-change service is priced better than anyone else in town, too, and its publicly posted in the office, along with pricing for other basic services. I wish Id found this shop years ago.

Been bringing my Audi for years. Shes at almost 200,000 and theyve got her running like a song.

On Thursday, my trusty (old) Toyota pickup died on 285 a few miles north of Santa Fe on my trip from DEN to ABQ. Alternator crapped out. Searched online and found Jims FAST. Glad I did. He arraigned for a tow from a great guy and went to work on it as soon as we showed up. One day later the old Toyota was patched up and now I can resume my return trip on Sunday. I highly recommend Jim. Straightforward, quality parts, very helpful, and a nice guy. Like taking your truck to your brother to work on. Toyota is good for another 250k miles now ;).

My husband and I own a BMW and weve owned it for about 5 years. There have only been about 3 times weve had to bring it in and every time we have gotten our car back we have had NO COMPLAINTS weve NEVER had to bring it in for the same issues. Jim and his son are professional, trustworthy and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend his services!

On the way to visit family for a few days in the area we hit a deer. Wanting to make sure the engine was safe to drive back home I took it to Fast Foreign Auto Services. They were able to accommodate me that same day. Jim took the time to ask me questions, looked and listened to engine, and gave insider recommendations about body work. The car was given a clean bill of health and I wasnt charged a penny.

I cant say enough positive things about this place. I was stranded, needed to get back to my family in colorado. Not only did they get my vehicle done in less than a day, the owner personally drove in snow and ice (when ups couldnt) to pick up my parts. Price was fair, service above excellent. Seem nice but snakes in the grass high price go here if you want to get your car back in worse condition then it was when you dropped it off n get the wrong parts installed so you can go home n do it yourself for literally 10 times cheaper. Crooks

Was directed to Foreign Auto Services because the universe liked me.Plus Foreign Auto Service suggested a car rental agency that gave me a preferred rate even though the timing preceded Indian Market by just a few days.Within less than 48 hours my previously ailing 1993 Eurovan was functioning like a different car, a better car.Thank you Jim and Jim (father and son mechanics) !!!!

Weve been taking our Toyota 4-runners into FAST for a couple of decades at least. They are rock-solid honest, excellent diagnosticians, will not do work that is not needed, give excellent advice, their work is perfection, and their prices are fair.

Good money for BAD WORK! Careless and heavy handed mechanics, broken parts, stripped threads, parts not replaced, salvaged parts used, incompetent reassembly, excuses, excuses. After four years and much money spent Ive had enough; they just dont care and are quick to blame others. 😡

Horribel place! Took in my WORKING BMW for a overheating problem after cooling fan was broken by accident. They said they would have done in 2 days and now they have had my car for over a month. it is now NON WORKING and blowing out smoke which it never was. And they just keep wanting and wanting more money. They don not want to give us any information we request. They sent out a part to get fixed but they refuse to give us information to where or give us a number. very unprofessional ( and this is the owner i am speaking about) PLEASE TAKE YOU CARS TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC. $2,600 price and rising

Dont go here, they dont know what they are doing, wont do what is asked. Come up with problems that dont exist. Want to charge for work that does not need do. Should have followed first Instinct and left without letting them touch my vehicle. Had to put my own vehicle back together. Left their shop went to Volkswagen and found out several other people have been to this service station and had problems and had to have fight with them to get money back after Volkswagen fix problem correctly dont even have the correct diagnostic tool have a cheap one from AutoZone or OReillys and you can have them run it for free. Again dont use them.

I would not recommend these guys I took my vehicles there a few times.first my Altima that ended up with some weird circle imported in the metal from my hood.then i had problems with the insurance things so my Lexus stayed at FAST for longer then I expected when I went to pick up my vehicle the rear view mirror was broken off and the moon roof was shattered conveniently they had no idea how it happened then they said it was already there when the tow driverdropped it off.my vehicle was not in the best shape obviously if it was there in the first place.but I do know what my cars looked like when I sent it to them.they parked my vehicle under trees and out of the secure area they have there.so IF you want something DAMAGED on YOUR vehicle and be charged for telling you what you told them.

I have had my vw eurovan worked on a few times at f.a.s.t. sometimes just for maintenance - oil change, tire rotation, etc. and other times for specific issues.each and every time the work was done in an expeditious manner. the communication with jim was superb. these guys are fair and kind. i would return there any time needed.

Excellent, excellent service! We drove our VW Touareg from Memphis to Santa Fe, a total of 1,036 miles, for vacation and our very last day on vacation the car started idling rough and misfiring. I drove the car straight to Premier VW in Santa Fe and explained our situation and was told that they were too busy to look at it that day and to try the dealership in ABQ. We called the dealer in ABQ and was again told that they wouldnt be able to get to the car until the next day. Just on a whim we decided to try a local independent shop and randomly chose FAST based off a Google maps search. Im glad we did! Jim was extremely helpful and was able to work the car in that day, diagnose the problem, and had us back on the road that afternoon. If not for FASTSs great service, we wouldve probably had to have the car towed to ABQ, paid for another hotel room, and another day or 2 of boarding our 2 dogs which isnt cheap.A lot of shops could have easily taken advantage of a customer in our situation, but FAST did not. We got what I felt was a very fair price for the work done. Ive owned VWs and Audis for the last 15 years and I know what it costs to work on them and FASTs price was very very good. If I lived in Santa Fe, this would be my go to shop for keeping my VWs on the road.

Got over 2500 dollars worth of work done to get everything together raised the price twice and the one concern I brought up with him wasn’t even fixed! Said it would be another 300$. Rather set my money on fire then go back here.
