Took 5 months to get my ven back. Didnt run. Had both motor and transmission was replaced and didnt last 20 miles before I lost all gears. He said that he replaced the motor but I found out it was the original engine. Totally ripped me off! Nothing but excuses and lies. Niw I have to file a law suit to get back my money. Dont trust FRED AT B+G!!!

So grateful for B&G today!! The technician was able to pick me up within 30 min of me calling when my alternator gave out halfway between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. He was communicative, prompt, and helped me get my truck into the shop before close. Definitely was not excited to have my battery drained on the highway, but I’m so glad for B&G’s tow service !

I was told my car would have been done by January 7th, then was told it would be done in February. I have called and asked about my car I am told that they are working on another cars to catch up even though my car has been in the shop for months. I am still currently waiting for my car to be done it is March 12th 2021Update for anyone it is now June 24th 2021. I still have not heard of my car is being worked on. They told me my car would be done on the 8th of June. Just an update is now November 1st 2021 my car has not been touched moved or had anything done to it since July. I advise you to take your money and go somewhere else.

If you want the simplest of jobs to get screwed up, by all means, bring your car or trailer here. If you want it done right the first time, look somewhere else. I have attached a picture of the bearing job they did on my trailer. They took off good parts and left me with this, knowing that I had a 2000 mile trip. AAA recommendation...what a joke! This was a new part and job.

Do not go here - Liars and cheats. I was charged $1800 for a new transmission which never worked right after their repair. I landed up taking my vehicle to a reputable mechanic and was told that the transmission was old. Which leads me to believe that they never purchased a new transmission and/or just try to repair the old one. Rip offs!Not to mention it took them six months to work on it. One excuse after another. If you wanna waste your money and poor/shoty repair go to BG automotive.

If I can give this place zero stars I would. My dad has been in the automotive business for 25 years and how this place is still running is astonishing. They took advantage of my 80 year old grandma who took her car in to get the locks replaced. They charged her $160 beforehand and then told her that they charged her for a diagnostic. Which she already knew that the locks needed to be replaced. When she asked for her money back, (because no work was done) they kept giving her different reasons as to why they charged her the amount they did. They are giving her the run-around and dont want to give her money back. If you want your money robbed and just a handful of excuses go to this place.

My father took his Ford truck to several different automotive repair shops in Santa Fe and were told the vehicle was repaired, only to continue with the same issues. We decided to take it to B & G Automotive and were treated with respect and the repairs were done and done right. We will be taking all our vehicles to B&G Automotive and highly recommend to all. I broke down in the middle of nowhere in NM on a road trip back to CO and AAA referred me to B&G Automotive. Its hard nowadays to find a good mechanic with integrity and knowledge and Fred is just that. He got me in first thing in the morning, repaired my truck in the timeframe he said he would, the cost was right around what he verbally quoted me and my truck is running better than it did before the breakdown. If I lived closer I would make them my regular mechanic in a heartbeat. If youre on the fence about having work done, give them a try, Im sure you wont be disappointed. Thanks Fred!

What a relief to find honest, reliable mechanics in Santa Fe. My car needed a rather extensive repair and it was done one time and in budget. They actually talked with me like a knowledgeable person even though Im a woman who isnt exactly a car engine expert. Highly recommend!!!

I was given a two year warranty on my transmission in my Chevy van- when it blew outside Denver, Fred made a 12 hour round trip drive to pick me up and tow me back to Santa Fe. I am incredibly grateful for the efforts he put forth in making the situation right and reinstalling my transmission. We had a pleasant ride and I fully appreciate him sticking to his word and going to lengths to help us get home.Thank you again Fred!

Honest & Reliable... this is the first time I gone for a second quote & they actually showed me what really was & wasnt in comparison to Toyota of Santa Fe. They showed me pictures. For instance they said, I needed a Tune-up, verses B&G Automotive showed me where they lifted only one Spark plug off & the rest of them were not looked at, plus they didnt secure the Spark plug back. And on top of that my Spark plugs are made of Paltimiun. Which means they last forever. So they saved me from being taken advantage at Toyota. They possibly have inexperienced mechanics or would have made out like bandits, with my Spark- plugs... I am very grateful for B&G Automotive.

Horrible auto shop that lies and dodges customers when you give them thousands to do the basic of making your car work again. Zero customer service. Totally corrupt. Your better off taking your car to the dump, they have a better chance at fixing it then these guys.

HUGE markup on parts!This is an update to my review from last year:Nice folks, but be careful as they build a LOT of their labor costs into their markup on parts. They quoted me $1800. For a fuel injection pump with a one year warranty for my Cummins diesel and about $500 for installation. I checked with auto Zone and found another pump with a three year warranty for $699.They told me that they add to their cost on parts to cover their warranty on installation labor. They were willing to install the pump if I bought it from auto Zone but wouldn’t warranty the labor for installation if the new pump failed.I figure I’m way ahead anyway. The money I saved from buying the pump from auto Zone would more than pay for installation if the new pump failed twice.Well, $1,100 dollars later it still isn’t any better...I’ll admit they tried, gotta take it to a dealer I guess, live and learn ☹️

I met Fred the owner at my job (Dental office) I was told he did great work and to take my jeep to him! I Did and Im so pleased!!! Plus they take my AAA card for a discount! Highly recommend B&G

My experience with B&G Automotive is second to none. Whenever I go there it feels like family and I am never charged for any oversight on their part, even the cost of towing. They have their own towing service on site which is able to respond 7 days a week and if the driver, who I know by name cant fix the problem at the site of the trouble, he will tow the vehicle to the shop and fix the problem immediately.

This place is really sketchy. Here is my experience: got my truck towed because there was no pressure on my clutch and this was an obvious hydraulic problem with the clutch. Got there and they told me I needed a new master cylinder, but I had already replaced that last year. I looked at the clutch fluid and it was contaminated so I told them to just flush the clutch fluid. They did and the pressure came back and everything was good. They obviously tried to sell me something a didnt need. The cost would have been over $500 for sure! Luckily I got out of there paying only $50. To top it off, they forgot to include my %10 AAA discount when I looked at the receipt back home. Definitely a sketchy shop. Watch out!!

I have been dealing with B&G Automotive San Felipe Santa Fe for nearly 2 years and have had a possitive experience each [ 5 ] time. I live in Los Alamos and make the 42 mile drive to get my car serviced at this repair shop. They have been straight forward explaining problems and cost. I would definitely recommend this business. Told it had to have engine replaced than told it had to have the transmission replaced.Bought car in because it makes a horrible noise and loosing power when stopped told it was the engine but other wise fine was it was worth replacing. After replacing engine i was told it wad ready and it lost power but restated again before I made it home. This continued for month saying its ready but not even making it the few miles home before the same thing slow down at a light and dies. At some point I was able to drive it a couple weeks before it started again snd went back to the shop. After 9 months i thought i finally had it fixed and no broke down engine blew and needed to be replaced. Even though it had been a very unsuccessful experience I felt like it must be a fluke and at leadt they were not continueing to charge me so I took a car in to have clutch replaced and it seemed fine but two days later pushed into the floor and wouldnt come back up. Im told something wasnt tightened. Then the SUV I had been waiting on for almost a year was ready as far as the engine but now neefed a transmission because that caused the engine. When i asked if that anything to do with it dieing couldnt tell me and said no way of knowing if still have that issue after replacing the transmission too. As long as they had the car I feel like someobe should have seen a problem that big with the transmission. I do know Im out a lot of money and it wasnt fixed because I couldnt come up with more.

Charging a customer $212 for an $87 distributor is not acceptable. I found that part myself! I could have had it delivered to me and paid the fair price instead I had it delivered to the shop and they almost triple the price! And NO the part was not from Rock Auto as the comment below says. It was from Autozone in ABQ. It was brought by courier to Santa FE These people are scammers.

My niece had a very bad experience in an attempt to have her transmission replaced. She paid alot of money, to leave with her vehicle in disrepair. The owner (Fred) of the business would not speak with her face to face.

They suck forgot to put oil cap back on my car and lost it had to buy me another and they missed up my engine cover with the degreaser spray buy me new one to. I would never go back they afford a Free oil change but no way.

As far as it goes worst experience ever payed 2000 for rebuilt engine took my car that had a broken timing chain and a blown-out spark plug so-called pay for the rebuilt engine go to find out I got the same motor back still with a blown out spark plug all they did was change the timing belt for $2,000 then they closed the business and now they reopen somewhere else years later to anyone that goes there good luck....
