Worst experience Ive ever had in a card shop. Went in trying find a community of card players and spend money to support a struggling local business and found myself being attacked for not playing the right card game. The person working was rude, inconsiderate and worst of all uninviting to a fellow game enthusiast. Hopefully you have a better experience than me, as I would still like them to succeed..

From my perspective it seemed a little lacking. The staff was very nice and asked if I needed any assistance. However there inventory seemed to have a lot of different items but not very many of any of them. Without knowing the store and how they cater to their local clientele its not really fair to judge them. However as someone who ran in to find something I was disappointed.

Picked up two very nice binders for growing card collections.

An excellent selection of hobby products are available. The salespeople are very friendly and knowledgeable about the products that they sell. The shop is very clean, and well organized. Im very happy with the purchases that I have made, and will happily return again.

Came here looking to trade and get new Magic The Gathering cards. Had a wonderful experience, the staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and provided invaluable guidance when it comes to trading our own cards. Being new to this, the experience has left us feeling welcome and wiser. The card selection itself was larger than its sister store in Monterey, and even though the cards from more recent sets were more scarce (due to Covid reasons, the selection was naturally lesser as there was less people visiting the store) we still found a great deal of what we were looking for. Can not stress enough how pleasant the experience was, especially compared to the Monterey store.

Whomever answers the phone is always rude. No type of customer service. Always give you one word answers. Never gives you the right info. Tells you wrong dates when certain items drop. Absolute trash

Amazing store very nice employees started me off with great advice starting out on magic the gathering would recommend for anybody who plays card games, rpg games, board games and paints miniatures. 10/5

Pretty good shop. CoViD seems to have hit it pretty hard. The workers seemed heavily interested in making sales and use inflated market prices. That being said, its really the only game shop in town. Of the main three card games, it focuses most heavily on mtg

The only place in town to get anything Warhammer... Except the selection here is absolutely the worst. Owner is very clearly only interested in selling and promoting Infinity and completely disregards stocking anything else.Their magic selection is one of the best in town and the reason for the 3 stars

Walker was very knowledgeable he has information beyond his years. We will be revisiting the shop and we travel quite a bit to do so its worth it

Met a few folks at Mythic for a D&D adventure. The place was set up very well for tabletop gaming. The snacks are modest, but there are several dining options in the shopping center Mythic resides in. Id recommend this place if youre in need of a gaming space in Santa Cruz.

Great selection of new and classic video game consoles, they seemed to have everything here even and old Atari! Theres also an area where you can pay a few bucks to try out virtual reality* games, if youve never done it I would definitely recommend.*That could even be a fun date idea if youre looking for something unique to do*

Mythic is the perfect game store. Their selection of cards rivals most of the big online retailers Ive dealt with. Their game inventory is extremely well researched. Everyone who works here is super-friendly and never pushy. There are fun holiday events and local game makers are invited to demo their games. Even the caliber of player is high - everyone Ive played against has been fair and courteous. There is some sort of organized play every day, as well as plenty of space for free play.

Dropped in to buy some cards and dice. Single cards for sale are very well organized. I was able to find what I wanted for my EDH deck and a couple other fun cards. Friendly service.

Seems like it is good for playing, but for someone looking to make a purchase this isnt the place to go. We asked a question of one of the attendants and he in the middle of answering us just walked away and didnt come back so we ended up leaving... Cant comment on the other aspects like the games and tables as I dont play but seemed to be pretty ok.

Mythic Games acts as the central hub for the gaming community in Santa Cruz. Whether you prefer Magic: The Gathering, Miniatures, D&D, or just boardgames the store always seems to ready for you. I have made connections with folks there that very much satisfied my gaming needs and I meet new and awesome people there all the time (particularly on Tuesday nights for Boardgames night). With knowledgeable staff and great products to sample, it is a fantastic stop for you no matter your gaming experience level

Great community. Theres an event almost every day of the week, with a variety of games.

Great game shop with good variety. Magic the Gathering is definitely the most popular, but there is also a healthy minatures scene (Warhammer, Infinity, Armada) and boardgame night (Tuesday) is usually pretty busy. Friendly staff, snacks, and lively community make it a cozy environment to hang out at while you wait for games/events/the rest of your group.
