Oscar and his team are truly running an honest, efficient, and reasonably priced auto shop. Ive been fortunate enough to only need minor repairs and oil changes on my TDI Jetta since moving to the Bay Area, but will definitely take my car here for any problems that arise in the future.

Honestly, I feel like my speakers were switched out. I left my car over night because it had to get worked on the next day. Ever since my speakers haven’t been sounding so great, i recently decided to check and i didn’t find my original speakers. I would like to hear a response back

Took my BMW to have the window regulator repaired. Not only did they take 3 days, they charged 2x the price. When I dropped it off, the window would not go up but the door opened from the outside. I had to return once because the door locks didnt work. I returned a 3rd time due to the door not opening from the outside and they were happy to repair it next week for an additional charge saying they knew it worked because they saw my passenger get into the back seat...he always rides in the back to hold my tiny dog. I had the same exact problem occur when I had a different window repaired by Grannys and they fixed their mistake without charge. They know nothing about BMW repair and they are a ripoff.

Their are wonderful and listen to what you have to say about your car. I have a mazda rx7. 1987 and there was no problem about them trying to fix it call all over SLO and Santa Maria no one would work on it Top Shop is working on it. GREAT

I love this place! I had issues with my 98 Subaru 2 years ago I took it here and Ive been going here since then! Theyre very professional, welcoming and patient. They always answer all my questions and dont mind when I need to take a little time for a decision. Ill be moving away soon and I will miss having this trustworthy place to bring my car in. Trying to explain anything to these people is like trying to explain it to a five year old. Especially Tess, speak very slowly if you end up dealing with her. Keep your cars far away from this place.

I just moved to SB and looking for a new mechanic. I was given a referral to Willy at Top Shop. It was time for an oil change and front brakes replaced. I asked what they would charge for those services (without and with routers if needed). The girl would not answer my question, became combative, asking how I knew the brakes needed replacing, and did I bring paperwork from my previous mechanic regarding the brakes. She wanted me to do a full diagnostic on the car. I asked to talk to Willy and was told he was not there. They said he was doing public relations whatever that means. The conversation ended abruptly when the receptionist called her manager over. I expected the manager to ask how she might help but instead without any questions, identified herself as the manager and pointed to a sign above the receptionist.You have to wonder how frequent does it have to be an issue, that Top Shop found it necessary to procure and post a sign above their receptionist that reads Be polite or Leave (or some variation on that). I was asked to leave for asking how much they charge for a specific service! Further research revealed that the shop is NO LONGER OWNED by Willy but by a corporation based in OC who have a hard sell policy. Read well into the Yelp reviews!

Great experience with this shop. My daughters VW Passat needed a fairy major repair. Anthony explained the repair in detail; and broke down the cost for me. When I paid; I spoke directly to owner of shop; and my bill was less than expected because the work was less extensive then anticipated. I really appreciate the honestly from afar.

Being the daughter of a family business (even though I am now 3000 away from them), it is very rare that you truly find that at home feeling no matter what the product. I have to say, I dont know a lot about cars and I probably speak for many women and to take your car in for maintenance or repair can be intimidating. I was very impressed about their exceptional customer service. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional.It is never nice to bring your car into the shop as you dont know how long it will take or how much it will cost you. So it is very nice to feel like you can trust the people there taking good care of you and being on your team. This is how I felt. My car was there for 3 days and the mechanics tried their best to find out what was wrong with it, and eventually fixed it. I was happy. Their mechanics were also very friendly!I would highly recommend this place!

These are pretty nice people. They make an effort where they can and their work is solid. I trust what they do, though they do suggest a good deal of stuff, they are okay when you opt not too. Only bad thing is their parking, but if you make an appt, it shouldnt be an issue.

Best Subaru mechanic in town. Fair rates, smart mechanics, friendly service. Every time Ive taken my car in they have been honest about repairs and services needed, unlike most of the other shops Ive been to in town.Alex is the man to go to for anything Subaru related!

I recently moved to SB; did Internet research and found Top Shop had great reviews. Made an appointment and the customer service people and owners could not have been more gracious. I had a slow leak in my tire and they referred me to another shop - where I also had excellent customer service. I will definitely go to Top Shop and Ians tire service and auto repair again.

Clean and organized shop. Very friendly, professional, and helpful. We were visiting from out of town and thought it might be a major transmission problem. Turned out to be a small part. They took the time to look up some information on our other car. Highly recommend!

Locally ownes for YEARS!!! Great repair shop that is honest and does good work on all foreign cars. Organized and willing to provide a good reference if it is something they do not specialize in. Been going to them for years and referred friends there. Car is always done when promised and the people working there are always personable and helpful.

When I arrive in the morning, I am always greeted warmly by the staff who either help me immediately or direct me to some coffee or candy to keep me occupied while they finish with someone else. They groom me to be a long term customer by prioritizing which of my car issues need immediate attention and which can wait for a subsequent visit, so I never feel pressured into doing something immediately unless it is a safety issue. The only drawbacks are that parking is somewhat limited and that they are so popular that you generally cannot just walk in to have your car worked on, but have to make an appointment a day or two in advance. But these are good problems to have!

Its so nice to have a mechanic I can trust. Willie and the rest of the staff are always very friendly, make sure to only do whats needed, and always upfront about the work that will be needed on the next visit. Theyve taken great care of my car. I highly recommend Top Shop.

Excellent experience, given the circumstances (broken car). Front desk staff and the technicians were exceptionally friendly and helpful. My car was repaired and serviced days before I expected. Prices seemed reasonable. Explanations of how drive train had probably been damaged seemed expertly based on skill and experience. I will go there again.

My husband has been bringing his cars here since moving to town 20 years ago and we have never had a negative experience. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and willing to answer questions.

Avoid this shop if you can! It is extremely overcharged. I would give a zero star or negative star if I could. They charged me more than 750 dollars for changing a fuse (ant it took 2 days), and they have changed the oil without asking for my permission. They also asked for a few hundred dollars for changing a cover of the tail light! The people in that shop are crafty and very low efficient. It is true that they always smile to customers and behave like they are nice people, but on the other hand they always overcharge the customers and keep the customers waiting. So please avoid this shop!

This recent visit reminded me why this has been our shop for so many years. It was well after hours on a holiday weekend. The crew members were staying late and the customers were all soon talking like old friends.

Where every other auto shop would have said it was because of something else or broke due to natural causes. They took it and fixed the problem with their own finances. No drama, no lawyer needed, very professional! I recommended them to a friend who ran into trouble with a different shop. THIS IS ONE OF THE ONLY SHOPS YOU CAN TRULY TRUST!

The guys are always great, but this time I had a sudden issue on my Toyota. I was able to use CSAA towing, night drop my vehicle at Top Shop, discuss the issues clearly and succinctly on the phone the next day, and they even ordered me an uber to pick up my car when it was completed. It means a lot to me to have little disruption of my work day and quick service - while still trusting that things are done right.

My husband has been bring our Jetta here for a few electrical problems the last month or so and when the cars back windows decided to stay down and wouldnt go back up, he called to get an appt. to have it fixed only to find when he got there, at his 8am appt., they had over booked and they couldnt- do the 20 minute fix until 12pmish (their words). My husband had already drove all the way from Cachuma Lake, took time off from work to get there at his scheduled time and couldnt hang around till then, so had to leave without anything getting done. Now guess what? It is RAINING! They lost a customer today.

Bummer. Avoid them if you can. WAY overcharged for work not done while running the clock on free services. Smarmy, dishonest, and unconscionably egregious in overcharge for time, again NOT actually worked, and parts at least double the highest price one could find them elsewhere. Ill be calling the Better Business Bureau and Department of Consumer Affairs, tellin it like it is on Yelp, and NEVER, NEVER NEVER goin back - and you in turn are loudly discouraged from EVER going there. Ever been ripped off along the highway? Thats Topshop. This is really sad in that they have great greeters that dont deserve (like their customers) what the owners and managers visit upon them by way of bad news...

Dishonest mechanics who are not interested in whats best for you. They will try to coax you into believing you need something that you dont and that the price their charging is fair. Not Cool.
