Stopped by and picked up some carnitas and tamales. We asked for red and green salsa. The salsas could use a little more flavor, the tamales are good not dry. Overall the food was good.

Only bad thing that they don’t enforce the mask and the distance of each other when there are people without a mask inside facility.Other then that the best food .

People who say carnitas are good must have damage taste palet. The most authentic carnitas and home made torillas I ever had, would the Loyas Carnitas in Pacoima, Ca. Pork skin is amazing as well. Its far but if you want to drive out there and give it a try, go for it!. The only thing i liked from el Toro was the green salsa.

Let me start by saying that Ive been living in santa ana for 10 years and i have been looking for the best tacos in all of orange county. I discovered el toro right when i moved to Santa Ana, however i feel like i didnt appreciate it for what it was. Now that i have tried all kinds of taco trucks, taco stands, restaurants friends Grandmas, i still find myself gravitating to el toro. Whenever you come here, there is going to be a line but its well worth it. I always order tripas and mixtiado. The tacos are big, and they pack it with meat, i always make 2 tacos out of 1. The staff is pretty friendly for the most part. El toro has my vote for best tacos in all of orange county or atleast beat meat.

They have great Mexican food. I grew up coming to El Toro. I would always have their Rib tacos and carnitas taco. I also enjoy their Tamales.

You have to try the carne asada and carnitas!!! Tacos that are not grilled but steamed to retain the moisture and flavor. They make homemade tortillas on the spot. Delicious salsa can be added for extra heat!

Grew up coming here have taken my kids here. Buy has changed a lot I drive from l.a county and everytime we go the never have chicharon de lonja meat doesnt taste the same.

They are really strick on their vendors. Always checking their temperature. They care of what comes in and out of their store. Now this stuff yall dont know cause it happens behind doors. Im just letting yall in this info if it helps anyone.They donnot reuse their used up cooking oil. Thats why their food is finger licking deeeeelicious.!!!

El Toro is not the same! At least the catering isn’t. We ordered the “party pack” for our sons memorial service and every bit of it was not good! Beans were like a purée, was not Spanish rice, and meats were very dry! Would not recommend for your catering needs. Walk up and take out might be ok but catering 👎🏻

It used to be good the meat was tender in the past and today the meat was dry they offered me salsa but they didnt put the salsa in the bag why asked if they dont give it to you

A staple of mexican Santa Ana. This place is best known for its meats and masa para tamales. Tacos are so jammed pack with meat and have double tortilla that you can make two tacos out of one. My favorite are the carnitas and lengua. Don’t expect Americanized food here. Nor customer service. The workers don’t really care if you’ve waited in line for awhile; just shut up and eat 😂

Love coming here. My folks bring food from here all the time. It always is packed which is both good and bad- good because you know the food is on point. Bad because the crowds make big lines. All in all,well worth the wait in line.

Now you have to wait outside for your number. If its sunny get ready. Youll be waiting a long time. Food still very good though.

Best Carnitas Tacos in Santa Ana. Not only are the tacos big but the meat is so flavorful. This place has been here for decades serving some of the biggest and best tacos around or meat by the pound with soft warm tortillas and cilantro onions and salsa to make your own tasty tacos at home.

We went at 3:PM tacos were 350.00 and more, for 40 years we buying there, now they are charging the pico de gallo, its is not more, the caldo de la bierria to, the meet was dry, I think the is, not good anymore, was the best place in Santa Ana. Luis Diaz

Birria de Res is top notch. Not to mention the prices. 3 ordenes de birria con su verdura cilantro, cebolla, limon and of course a dozen hand made corn tortillas. Un tamal de puerco y un champurrado for $33 bucks and some change. Not bad at all!

My mom has been coming here for the past 10,15,20? years or so...we get all of out Christmas tamale masa here and sometimes their meat but today at the kitchen table during dinner she said that “ya no hacen las cosas buenas.” In English this translates to: “they do the things right anymore” she also said that she was disgusted by the chicken breasts she bought and I’m pretty sure we won’t be going here anymore for holiday food. Sad because it’s really popular here and most of the reviews are from people who see how high this place is rated and for the most part they rate it the same just cause.

The service was terrible. I understand the pandemic is happening but keeping everybody bundled up outside is not a good way to stop the spread of Covid 19, nonetheless I waited outside for almost an hour and i only ordered the fried pork skin thats it. I saw the employees all in the back gossiping and they didnt even have a clue or could keep up with the orders they had coming in, and it wasnt just me outside waiting for my order it was almost 40 people all bundled up and we werent even kept 6ft apart.

Truly the Meca of Carnitas my family and I drive from Phoenix to Santa Anna just for El Toro Carnitas. Loco de Madres but hey twice a year 5.5 Hour drive. You only live once Right? Overall no where better than El Toro in Santa Anna.

Delicious Tamales at a great price. We bought a dozen,half Pollo (chicken)and half Raja (cheese /green chile) about $26.

Im a Santa Ana native...when I go visit from the I.E. El Toro is a must stop-to-shop place. The line was about 40 minute wait outside because of Covid19, there is a limit of about 6 to 7 customers, inside, at one time. Once you go inside, they help you out pretty quickly. There is a variety of mexican freshly made salsas and taco toppings like guacamole, pickled pork skin. The tortillas are a big must, made fresh daily, but everyone goes to get the fried cooked meats, taco ready, served hot and sold by the pound. Also they have tamales, sweet corn, pork and beef, I think too. Its about 10.99 to 9.99 per pound for the meats. On my trip, since we only go once in a great while we spent $98.00 including horchata. The service is quick, friendly and the food is good. Thanks El Toro, for your existence.

The food is amazing but the one problem I have is with the security guard in the morning on July 8th. He is very rude. Just because you have a badge doesnt mean a thing. Yelling at people at 8 in the morning. The person he yelled at was very calm and asked for instructions and this man straight up yelled at the person. There is no need to yell.

Love the quality and selection. What I do not love any more is the really, really high price of cooked food. As s church we cannot use El Toro for food anymore. Prices to high. Also you have to watch when they weigh things. They always try to sell more than you ask for. Sorry El Toro you have priced yourself out of our market.

Great authentic Mexican food. They make there own tortillas and have almost any meat you can think of. They also have burritos. They sell it by the pound or in a taco or in a party pack.I wish we had one closer to our house we live about 50 miles away but go that way about once or twice a month. Would recommend you trying it.

Bought a chorizo and egg burrito. Was the worst ever tasted. It was cold didnt taste good took 2 bites through the rest in the trash.they us to be the best place to buy hot foods and salsa,but the quality in food went down stop going after getting food poisoning twice .Never will set foot inside there again
