Got my broken carbon bike frame fixed nicely in 5 days (express service). Amazing repair work and friendly staff.
New Year’s Day, no one is open. But, Richard at Element kindly made himself avail to fix my kids bike and help us get back out for NY day fun.Super kind, professional and patiently taught me how to fix in the future while doing the repair.Clearly, this is a shop and team that love bikes and biking and helping others that do too.Big thanks Richard.!Great start to a better 2021!
Ian and John are super professional and know serious bicycles inside and out.Fantastic shop for custom paint jobs on road bikes and mountain bikes as well as service and fix-it jobs on high end bicycles. This place is low on frills and really for serious avid bikers who want a professional biker to take care of their gear. They also i a lot of custom work for other bike shops.
Chose Element 6 to handle the repair and painting of my bike. Richard explained the process from start to finish and the work was fantastic! I also made a few mechanical upgrades based on what Richard imparted and now my bike is just as good as new, literally!
John, Dave I think his name is and specifically Richard help me out so much with me bike. Just wanted to recognize that. I may have misunderstood one of the employees on the phone for sounding annoyed. But that was my fault.
John is great guys. Straight forward and easy to work with.
I dropped multiple bikes here for service and was always satisfied with their work. Richard is extremely helpful. He explained everything to me patiently and also showed me some of the cool projects they were working on.
Very knowledgable and fair. Technically great work and recommendations. Seamless frame repair and painting so bike could be used as intended into the future. Would reccomend Element6 for frame repair of any type.
I heard good reviews about this shop. I will bring my Yeti for a minor touch-up.
I highly suggest you take your frame somewhere else for painting. Here is a list of issues I had with this company:- They painted my frame the wrong color I had requested even after sending them emails of photos of an S-Works frame I wanted them to copy. Also, I asked for holographic paint on the two logos on the frame but instead I got white paint and an excuse saying its too hard to do holographic paint on words.- They didnt prep and mask the frame right before painting so I had to sand down the rear drop outs or cable insert area on the headtube. The rear wheel wouldnt go in because of excess clear coat and the whole where the brake house goes in for the rear brake needs an guide insert. That small part wouldnt sit flush because of excess paint/clear coat and I had to sand down the inside of the frame for the part to go in all the way.- The clear coat came off before I was done assembling the bike when trying to remove a sticker. I spoke to another bicycle frame painter about this and they said Element 6 didnt clear coat the frame right.- He asked me to ship the frameset with the seatpost collar, lost it, and never replaced it. After a week or two of waiting on him, I decided to source it myself. He at least reimbursed me for it but still! He even said are you sure you sent me the seatpost collar? I cant find it anywhere. I resent him the email showing him where I had placed the seapost collar in the box before shipping it to him. What an idiot.Of course, they will reply to this review saying I approved the design before the work started. However, a PDF drawing looks nothing like the finished product. I told him what paint I wanted, he is the paint expert, I am not. I showed examples of what paint color I wanted, he didnt match it, he claims to be a Specialized approved painter, but I got something completely different. Some of the reviews on here claim the same issues Ive had so its not just me.
Really good people great prices they know what theyre doing if you need your bike repaired no matter what kind of bike a composite, aluminum, steel whatever these guys have the ability to do it youve got to check them out
Honestly I should have known better. High reviews but small amount of reviews usually equals disappointment. Save yourself time and money, and stay away.
Im new to cycling, but the owner was very kind, helpful and informative. I look forward to coming back here in the future!
I went there to get new handlebar for my mountain bike and they gave me first class parts and price and discussion on all the latest options. Really knowledgable owner and staff.
It sounds like the 1 star review was a bad customer acting out and being a child. John was incredibly supportive and fair in all his communications and pricing with me. He even went so far as to help me get back on the road after a critical failure of the drivetrain. His customer management system outlines and emails everything and he makes sure youre satisfied with decisions. If you want something for free you need to look elsewhere. #byefelicia. My first impression of John was great. Its a small business that specializes in carbon fiber frame repairs. I brought in an aging carbon bike with some damage and John took a look at it, gave me a fair price, and even discounted the paint charges since it was a small section of work. Id go here again in a heartbeat. Hes not cheap and his work speaks to the cost. If you want a safe and reliable ride you need to pay to play. All in all the repairs came out to about $400. Im super happy with his work and the bicycle has held up beautifully for over a year and more than 1000 miles.
A business that doesnt even know what there own services are they provide, as strange as that sounds. Also was told by rep of Element 6 that Google has there website and information wrong.
Im not sure where those 1-star ratings came from but I have known John for many years and he has always supported the cycling industry 100%. Element 6 is no different, John does a fantastic job on carbon repair as well as bicycle frame painting, which is actually harder to get right than painting a car. John has always treated me fairly and is always friendly. John will take care of you as well as your frame. If you are in the SoCal area and your frame needs a little TLC, trust me, go see John at Element 6. You and your frame will be happy you did.
I strongly urge anyone to stay away from this company and the owner John Tzinberg of Element 6. His customer service is horrible, very unprofessional, his completion dates are false and the work was not done correctly and as promised. The delivery date was changed five plus times, the work was not done as per the design that we agreed upon, and parts were lost. Nearly two months after dropping off the bike I go to pick up the bike and he is still working on it and the paint was done incorrectly. I explained to him that I was not happy about the design being changed and that I was not notified and his response was simply sorry mate. The fork dropouts have been over painted causing the front wheel to be hard to take off and when I asked him he said that is how your bike has always been although it is visible there is new green paint covering the dropouts. He demanded I pay my remaining balance in cash or he would keep my bike and sell it. Below are some of my correspondences with John to hopefully prevent someone from going through this in the future.11/22 The bike was delivered with a 2 week estimated completion.11/30 As per Johns email, we agreed to a design. No where on his design paperwork does it mention that this is simply an estimate and it may be changed at any moment. No where does it mention that if the design is changed the customer will not be notified of this change. The design was changed and I had no say in the matter.11/30 As per Johns email, he said paint would be complete end of the day. He had already seen the bike and known of any extra work that needed to be done. He had also given me an estimated build completion of 12/6 and told me he would contact me on 12/5 to confirm, neither was done.12/11 As per Johns email, bike should now be done early next week.12/19 As per Johns email, bike should now be done late next week after Christmas.1/8 As per Johns email, bike should now be done late tomorrow.1/11 As per Johns email, bike is still not done, he is still asking questions about the build.1/14 As per Johns email, nearly TWO MONTHS after receiving my bike I am now being notified that certain parts never arrived.1/15 Arrive to Element 6 and the bike is still being worked on and the paint is done incorrectly. He demands full payment in cash or he will be keeping and selling my bike. I had no choice other than to pay him for his subpar work in order to get my property back with all of my bike parts.John and his company Element 6 should not be entrusted with our precious steeds and does not belong servicing the bike community. STAY AWAY!
Yes, I have been to this business TWICE and spoken to your only staff member. I’m sure Johns video surveillance can prove this if John wants to talk about facts. I saw how poorly John, the actual owner of the business treated my boyfriend Frank L. when my boyfriend went to get his bike painted. If anyone seeing this review would like to do a little bit of research on this company which was formally called “Cycle Therapy” you will see there have been other customers with the same problem my boyfriend had. John agreed to give my boyfriend a discounted price, once Frank L. took his bike to John it took John over two months to complete something that John said he would have done in 2 weeks. And he did NOT approve the design with my boyfriend before putting the gloss on the bike. The email chain proves this. He responds to our reviews with blatant lies to make his washy story hold up against our facts. At this point, any person that wants the 40 + email chain and pictures can personally email me or Frank L. and we will be more than happy to expose John . He is a scammer, and a bit delusional to believe the bike community will not eventually catch on to his poor business practices regardless of the amount of times he changes his company name.
An honest business owner. He’s worked on my bike and a buddy’s. He’s delivered every time. I’ve even dropped my bike off at his house when his shop is not open and he’s gotten it back quickly. We were in Europe and he help us through a problem 6,000 miles away.
