I was not allowed to shop at this store because I didn’t have a mask. I really feel discriminated against. All I wanted was some guitar picks. That would have taken like five minutes. I guess I am going to find another music store that will not discriminate against me just because I’m not wearing a mask.
The guys here are great, the issue is the company itself. I rented a guitar years ago for my daughter, no issues, the bill came out automatically and i returned when classes were over. Then my next daughter rented the flute for school. I find out a year later that not a single payment has been withdrawn, I own the flute, and I owe $1200 for it. I have a bunch of kids and bills when I set up automatic payments, I expect that the payments are going through unless I get some sort of notification or call telling me otherwise, even just one call.. The card on file is fine, nobody can provide me a reason why I’ve never been charged. The only call i receive is harassing debt collectors two days ago.
Very helpful, great place.
Everyone here is always pleasant and welcoming. They always answer all my questions and very helpful. Would definitely recommend especially Alex!!
The most horrible customer service. They stand behind the counter, dont help anyone and act like you dont exist. With small businesses struggling, youd think they would know how to actually serve people. Will never shop there again. Not to mention, thier prices are outrageous compared to other music stores. Dont waste your time.
Great store! Super helpful!
I dont know what happened to this store, Im guessing management changed. But, this store is not friendly anymore. I do not like shopping here like i used to. The layout is awkward now. You do not get greyed when you walk in all the employees look bored and tired and when asked a question they seem to get annoyed that they have to get off their phone or computer. I rather go to another store where at least i dont feel like Im an intrusion.
I thought I wanted a soprano ukulele. Trying to buy one was difficult for me because the large music stores had one or two models in stock. When I went to Music & Arts, Aaron sanitized my hands, and pulled out six different ukuleles. I listened and I strummed. Bouncing back and forth to each of the instruments took time, but Aaron on was patient and knowledgeable. He tuned all of the instruments and then he taught me how! Advertising low prices on line is what the big music stores do well, but that was worthless to me as a complete beginner. In the end, I bought a concert Laurel Canyon - on sale - a bag - on sale and a tuner - on sale. I happy!
The customer service and communication is severely lacking here. My husband dropped off an instrument (July 26) for repair and was told it would take about 5 business days. They gave him an estimated quote and asked if it were to be more for some reason if he would like to be called first. He asked them to call if it would be more than $15 over the quote he was given and they made a note. We hadnt heard back from them after the 5 business days so he called to check on it (the next Monday) and was told it was a work in progress and it should be done by Friday. Friday comes along with no phone call or update. He calls them Tuesday and they tell him its a work in progress as if they hadnt told him that the prior week already. There was no update as far as the repair itself went. They told him to would now be ready Friday. Still no phone call so the following Friday he calls and they say its back in. (Thanks for the phone call). My husband goes to pick it up and not only is this now way longer than the estimated time frame they told us, its now double the cost. No one ever called to tell us a part would need to be replaced because it couldnt be repaired. No one ever called to tell us it would be more expensive. And no one ever called to tell us it wouldnt be ready when it was supposed to be. So instead we waited almost 3 weeks for a repair. We had to reschedule his music students twice each because of the lack of communication and competency from this store. There was no apology, no one even remotely seemed to care about any of this. Do yourself a favor and find a different location for your instrument repairs, they clearly do not care.
Please rent elsewhere by all means!!! Dropped off my sons instrument At the school in March after he decided to drop band. Called the store and they told me that they would pick it up bc that is a service I pay for. Covid happened, and I didn’t notice til school started back that i was still having the payment coming out of my bank account for an instrument I had turned in months prior. Called the store and they told Me it would be picked up and the store would contact the Corp office to take care of everything. Next month goes by and still charged again. Call again and told That they would call Corp office again but then called me back and told me the that they couldn’t pick up The instrument due to covid rep being quarantined for two weeks but they would contact corporate about me still being charged and it would be picked up within the next few weeks. They explained to me that corporate could be a pain so I should call them too. By that point, it was October I believe. I asked if I should pick the instrument Up from my sons old school and bring to his new school since he started a new school this year and was told that was fine so I did so. Got it on Friday and had it at new school by Monday... the store advised me to personally reach out to cooperate as well along with them this time...so I called corp office and explained and they told me that I would have the direct withdraw stopped but that I would still be charged til the instrument was able to be picked up. Once it was picked up, I would get a credit to my account. December comes around and I get a letter that I’m in collections and my credit score may soon be dinged . I am livid. Call the store again. They remember me Bc of this whole ordeal that started back in March and the store manager himself even calls me back to tell me I would be getting a refund from March til the withdrawals stopped and they had the instrument finally! Then a week Goes by and nothing so I contact corporate again and am told that the account is zeroed but I won’t be getting the refund bc I didn’t personally contact corporate til October. I contacted the store I got the instrument from but never corporate so no refund from the charges from my back account months after I turned the instrument in!!!!! I rented from the store so I contacted the store I rented from! The manager assisted me as did employees and gave me false information telling me it would be picked up and it was taken Care of . Why Would I contact cooperate office if I didn’t know I had an issue. I contacted them when i clearly Was advised to contact them! This company and the customer service is awful! The store clerks and store managers try but clearly their hands are tied when it comes to doing HONEST business!!! Please save yourself the headache and save your wallet by taking your business elsewhere! I have requested a manager call me back so if they do the honorable thing and issue my refund then I will take this review down but if it is still up...do business at a business with better morals!!!!
Took my son in because he needed new strings. I know nothing about guitars, so I called and I spoke with Aaron who was very knowledgeable and decided wed go. Niko was super sweet and very helpful. Everyone that came in and out while we were there looked happy and Niko spent a good amount of time with my son going over everything and was truly helpful. This will be our music store from here on out. Thanks again!! 🙂
Great customer service by Marc sugarman. Brought in a guitar for repair and tune up. Pointed out in great detail and pictures the problem problem. Ended up buying a new one at a great price and he waived the charge for taking my old one apart. Very friendly!
Excellent service. Aaron is especially helpful and has a well rounded knowledge base of all instruments.I am a saxophonist that doubles on flute and clarinet. I also have a great deal of experience repairing woodwind instruments and can say that all of the instruments here are taken exceptionally well care of. Not a single instrument I played needed any service, they all played right off the wall which is uncommon for many other music stores out there...I would never doubt a single horn coming from this location. You should definitely stop in if you are looking for an upgrade or change! Also, HUGE selection of beautiful guitars. I’m sure as a guitarist, Aaron would have no issue helping you pick the axe best suited to you.A++
GREAT experience ! My wife and I are visiting our sons family in Sanford. Looking for guidance how to proceed with our left-handed, 14y.o. grandsons initial interest in playing guitar, I called this Music & Arts location.Shane was excellent+. He was well informed and patient as he guided me through options. He did not try to sell me on an expensive path. Rather, he clearly had my grandsons interest at heart. We reached on very acceptable point to move ahead.I highly recommend giving them a shot.John
I recently decided to pick up a hobby and went to this location and met with Marc. He was extremely informative and spent a lot of time making sure I had the right equipment needed to begin practicing guitar. He was very knowledgeable and he really made me feel conformable in my buying decisions. I have since referred a few of my friends to this location because of him. I am really glad I chose this location because dealing with Marc made me wish that there were more people like him in a general buying experience.
Very helpful and friendly.
Great service and very knowledgeable staff. Shane was super helpful. Will come again.
Shane is a rock star! He is extremely knowledgeable; he provided me with information and appropriate music/instrument supplies. I appreciate him for taking time to explain and assist me and all the while taking care of multiple customers by phone and in person! Thank you so very much!
Marc did an awesome job repairing my guitar. Highly recommend.
Shane, Nico and Mark went so above and beyond from the minute I walked in the store. I bought a electric guitar and they explained everything to me. So helpful and friendly. I did have a problem with it after I got home, the fret was bad. Mark worked hard to find the problem and was honest when telling me it could not be fixed. They ordered me another one and had it within the 5 business days. I will surely be going back. Thank you all for your friendly an honest attitude.
I went in to the Music & Arts store in Sanford to return sax we had rented for about 2 years. The only thing we had thought we were getting for our money was a son who learned how to create music, certainly a worthwhile thing. It turns out that we were also building rental credit that Music & Arts will allow you to use (with a few restrictions) toward the purchase of an instrument from their store. I am so grateful to Mark for his time and patience in showing me how I could make my sons impossible dream of owning his own intermediate level instrument a reality by using a combination of rental credit and in-store financing options. This way I was able to purchase the instrument for just a slightly increased monthly payment than I was paying before to rent an instrument.Mark was friendly and engaging and I enjoyed the time I spent in the store talking with employees and other customers while my transaction was being processed. Mark went above and beyond to get me a high demand instrument in a very quick amount of time and was great at communication. The other employee there, I thought might be a manager but I cant recall his name, was also super nice and helpful, and made sure the transaction went through without a hitch.Music & Arts in Sanford is definitely the only store we will use for our musical instrument needs. Thank you so much for an excellent experience.
Ive read some of the other comments and was a little worried at first about going here and the sales tactics used. Well, I can assure you that the people in this store are extremely helpful and NEVER used an tactics to try to get me to buy something. Yes they would like to be part of the process of you buying an instrument but that is only to make sure you find something that works for you. I brought my daughter in here to purchase here first guitar. The store manager Shane assisted us and I can tell you did an awesome job!! He let me daughter try different guitars, demonstrated them for us, told us the pros and cons of each, brought out a music teacher in the store to offer his opinions, and offered a free lesson and discount on accessories. This was not a quick process but I couldnt be more happy, I really felt like my daughter loved the process of trying all the different ones and deciding which one was best for her. You cant do that at Amazon. Besides when I was pricing their instruments they are nearly the same as prices you see on-line. They have instruments in the store and a larger catalog to order in instruments for you as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for to purchase an instrument.
After calling and ensuring Music and Arts had clarinets for rent, when I arrived at the store, I was told that they havent had any for several days. Worse, when mentioning the fact that I called ahead, the employee disputed me on what I had actually asked on the phone: you asked me if we EVER rent clarinets, not if we had any to rent right now! Then went back to playing with a guitar for sale.In conclusion, I was able to find the instrument and service I needed from another Central Florida music store; I doubt music and arts will get a second chance from me.
Super nice staff, helped me pick out a new amp. Even gave me some band suggestions to look up. Will come back again.
Very nice store with a focus on education in music and a great amount of inventory for the beginner and can order anything for the pro. Very friendly, informative, and helpful staff.
Very kind and friendly service
I placed my order via phone and Shane provided excellent customer service.
I have been a member/student of music n arts for a little over a year now and I couldn’t be happier. The staff is always helpful and cheerful when I walk in every week for my lesson. I have played the Clarinet for over 10 years however, I always wanted to learn how to play the Violin. My husband bought me a violin one year for Christmas and the violin wasn’t all the way put together, so I stopped in Music n Arts and they helped me with putting together the Violin. While I was there I enquired about music lessons and they informed me that the first lesson was Free. I couldn’t have been more ecstatic.During my lesson I met Yvonne (who is amazing) Being an adult learning a new instrument can be a little bit over whelming. She treated me like any other student and I always enjoy my lesson every week.Thank you, Yvonne and the Staff of Music N Arts :)
Signed up for first time lessons a few weeks ago. When I showed up for my first lesson, the instructor was out of town. No one seemed to think it was important to notify me. Got a refund for the lesson, fine. Show up for my lesson the next week but they were double booked. Obviously there are communication issues at this location. If you’re going to sign up for lessons then I recommend verifying your appointment via the phone each time.
Have rented instruments here for 2 kids and ALWAYS helpful, friendly service whether in the phone or in person. Staff is knowledgeable and takes time to answer questions, offer options and explain everything. Highly recommend.
My child and I went here first before going to another local music store on recommendation. I dont usually post bad reviews but thought i must for anyone else having their child starting band. This place will try and pressure you into trying to buy whatever it is they have to sell for the week. the employees are rude and wont give you the time of day if you are there with just questions. not to mention the arrogance felt from them. save yourselves the time and find another store.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff
I ordered online for a Baritone rental in mid October while they were doing the Trial Period which was only going for $1 for 2 months. What was supposed to be a week wait turned into an entire month long wait! From October 17th order I put in, I did not get the Baritone until November 21st. I called roughly 2 weeks after I put the rental order in and one of the employees at this Sanford store told me he never got the order, but yet when he looked up my order number, it showed up for his store. He then preceded to make me feel like I was causing him trouble because I decided to put the order in online instead of ordering it from them directly. He also mentioned that he might of accidentally given it away to someone else. He then put the order in for the Baritone to ship to the store which yet again took another 2 weeks and allegedly he had been calling my cell phone after ordering it to be shipped to the store and leaving messages that it was ready for pick up, yet I never received any calls or messages on a phone Im constantly on all day everyday. After I go to pick it up, he tries to sneakingly charge me for the current rental price which would of costed me $71 instead of the $12 I was quoted had I not stopped him. On top of that, he did a credit check on me which he found out later after calling corporate that he didnt have to do that which ends up screwing my credit. The rental was supposed to be $12 for 2 months but he said I cant do that because the trial period is over even though theyre the ones that screwed up with me coming in this late and are only honoring the $12 for 1 month. If all that wasnt bad enough, I come home to find out he actually gave me a Euphonium instead of a Baritone that I ordered. Never have I had to deal with such absolute garbage service from any business. What was supposed to be a month and a half long practice for a Drum and Bugle Corp audition turned into only 1 week for preparation. Be Extra cautious when renting with these people. Had I not had previous rental experience as a worker in car rental, I would of been screwed out on a lot of money. Only reason I havent rated them a 1/5 is because they do more than just rental and I like coming to this store which is pretty close to me to purchase any parts needed for my instrument or books for Music Theory Classes and Studio Lessons.
Great customer service with superb imstrument rental program.
Excellant customer service. Clerks very helpful.
Was a 5-star establishment previously. Unfortunately, with a new manager, Shane, loyal, long-time customers are no longer valued. Unfortunate.
Ive purchased two guitars from here so far. They dont have a huge selection, but the prices are reasonable. The 2nd one I got from this store was on clearance and they even knocked some off that, giving me a better deal than I could have gotten online for the same guitar,
Really nice workers
Good instruments, music supply, great service...even lessons available
Nothing but positive experiences with Benny and his staff! They are always friendly and professional.
