Honest, reliable, fast work! Susan, in the front office, has worked on vehicles for years and can trouble shoot any problem. She and the mechanics are dedicated to finding the problem and fixing it without recommending work that isnt needed. Honest, fast, and reliable! We will definitely bring our vehicles here again if they need work because this company is honest and cares about doing things right!

Susan is very nice and so helpful! Ive brought my car to this place twice now. First time we were hoping replacing all the solenoids in my 2001 Honda would help with the car jumping but it didnt. Which is fine. My cars pretty old and the previous owners had it sitting outside for who knows how long. The great point of this is that Honda was trying to charge me 3 THOUSAND just to fix them. Susan only charged me between 800-900. Second time I brought my car was to fix my brake switch(?) And battery (along with the terminal) for only 300 or so. Every place in town will either try and charge you way more than needed or take forever with no communication on when your car is fixed. Susan keeps me up to date and explains in the most basic way possible what the issues are with my car.

My Jeep had sat in another shop for almost three months with a bad transmission. I wouldn’t hear from them for weeks at a time, and when they did retrenched my calls they kept telling me “our hands are tied.” I called Sanford Transmission and on day one they went and towed my Jeep to their shop (free of charge) and made it a mission to get my vehicle back on the road.I was back in the road within one week and Cindy (my transmission angel) would call me with updates daily. Couldn’t be happier and hands down the best customer service I’ve ever experienced!

CHECK THESE FOLKS OUT BEFORE YOU LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE! Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had on a major repair. These people are kind, caring, and want to provide you with the best quality repair at the lowest possible price. They take the time so that you understand what is needed and what is not, no upselling or upcharging, while educating you on the problems so that you have the knowledge necessary to make good decisions. These guys know their stuff and stand on their reputation. You will not be disappointed.

Went there with my Maxima that was showing issues with the transmission, Mr.Jenkins took me in as a walk in and went through alot of trouble to clear out any issues with the car. I Highly Recommend Sanford Transmissions for any of your auto needs if your in the area. Most places if your Nissan shows code P1778 they automatically say new transmission but instead of taking the easy profitable way Mrs. Jenkins researched my specific vehicles problems and made adjustments and its like the car is brand new! Cant Recommend them enough.

I too join the ranks of the 5 star raters for Sanford Transmission. I knew a clutch job was more than I could take on myself but did not want to spend a lot on my reliable but POS 97 Ford Ranger. Very good at putting a band-aid on it. Took my truck in last year to get the motor mounts replaced. Took my truck in to a different shop this year just for it to be the same problem. Come to find out that they never replaced my motor mount. They cut pieces of hose and put it into the old mount and put it back on. Also broke another part and glued it back together and put it back. They kept my truck for over a week. Like I said they are very good at putting a band-aid on it. Took me a whole year to figure out that they never fixed it lol. Thanks for taking my money

I was told if I brought them my transmission I would get a free estimate. I did, was quoted $1,800 which I declined. Came to get my transmission and they returned it to me in a box, completely taken apart. In the following week I found out they didnt return my tailshaft (or bolts). Had to go back and get it (hour away).A few days later I realized they didnt return my neutral safety switch either. Had to go back and get it (hour away). Not one apology. Very unprofessional, overpriced, and sneaky on returning what was given them.

I purchased a 2005 GMC Sierra with a bad transmission, and I did like you are doing now, checking reviews for a fair and quality shop to contact. I had 3 companies written down on a piece of paper because they all had good reviews in my area. I called the first company and they gave me a quote to rebuild my transmission within 5 mins. Then I called Sanford Transmissions and talked to Ray. I knew from the moment he told me he could not give a FAIR and HONEST quote without getting the truck in his shop and seeing what went wrong I was talking to a GENUINE person.See the person who gave me a quote over the phone was selling me a rebuild kit for my transmission which might have worked for some but how many things would they have had to add on as they got into the job? You see my transmission actually had a hole at the top so they couldnt even rebuild it..Mr. Ray found that out before we decided the best path for my situation.Mr. Ray followed up with me numerous times through the process and always kept me informed. He would call every evening before close to update me. He even showed me in person the damage done to my transmission.I could not be happier that I NEVER called the 3rd company I had written down and decided to go with my gut feeling while talking to Ray for 5 minutes.Ive been around the Car/Mechanic business 30+ years and I am here to tell you that this shop is one you can trust. Ray and his employees are top notch people! Thanks again!

Sanford Transmissions was referred to me by a close friend. I read the reviews and saw where some said that they were rude and unprofessional. Well, this couldnt be further from the truth! Ray took my Jeep in and the next day he called me and told what needed to be replace and what didnt. He gave me the price it was going to be and I said sound great, please proceed. Well, that is exactly what he did, this Jeep shifts so smooth and I now have all my gears! I would recommend Sanford Transmissions to anyone looking for honest repair at a honest price.

Worst place I have ever taken a vehicle to get work done I had ray rebuild my transmission in my truck and I told him I wanted to add heavy duty components on it for a grand total of 4 grand he did all the work to it said I should never have any problems with it well in a matter of 3 months of driving it less than 3 thousand miles it went back to the shop 3 times and each time ray blamed either me or my wife for the issue until we finally sold the truck because ray couldnt fix it wouldnt give our money back or extend his very short 1 year 12,000 mile warranty after the second time I got quoted a price from AAMCO in Raleigh for 2500 to fix what ray couldnt and would give me a 5 year 100,000 warranty bottom line ray overcharged me couldnt fix the problem and then blamed it on us DO NOT GO HERE he does not know what he is doing

I took my 2002 Thunderbird into Sanford Transmission when I noticed fluid dripping out that I thought was transmission fluid. I have NO complaints with this company. I did some research before I took my vehicle in. They told me what they would have to do--a breakdown inspection-- and what the cost would be if I elected not to have them do the repair and what the cost would be if they did do the repair. I elected to have them do the work- -Six month warranty, as long as you took the vehicle back within 7 days for a final inspection. The repair work as done as quoted and within the price range I had been quoted, which was also what my advance research had told me to expect. There may be other repair agencies locally, but I couldnt find them with a google search. Aamco has shops in Cary/Raleigh and in Fayetteville, but I preferred to stay local, thinking that, IF there were problems after the fact, it would be easier to work with a local business as opposed to an out-of-town business.

Took my truck up to Sanford transmission as it lost third gear and Ray told me he needed to open up the transmission since it was an internal problem. When I asked him to quote a price to rebuild it he said he couldnt until he found the problem inside. Now from my experience if you have to open a transmission and the clutch pack is gone for one gear you might as well replace all clutch packs so as a mechanic you should be able to quote that in labor and parts. He said it could be anywhere from $1900 to $2600 just depends on what he finds and said he would open it up free of charge as long as I agreed that he did the work. Once I told him I contacted Jennings transmissions in Goldsboro and they quoted me on a fully rebuilt transmission for 1600 labor and all he proceeded to argue that they are ripping me off and acted like I was bashing his business. Well I just took my truck to Jennings transmissions and they agreed to have a fully remanufactured rebuilt transmission (which is the closest thing to brand new that you could get) with torque converter and an 18 mo unlimited mile warranty plus labor for $1699 no questions asked. Plus if it does break down in 18 mo they will tow it from wherever Im at and fix it at no cost. I wouldnt go to Sanford transmission for a rebuild he will not quote anything and if your on a budget like me youll need to know a price before the job is started.
