I was expecting a little more than your normal donut shop. When I went there was no crazy donuts that stood out to me. Just your traditions kinds. Which were very good. Way better than your fast food donut joint.

Everyone here is so polite they all treat the customers with respect ALWAYS clean and family oriented. Im glad they are in my neighborhood. Tracy just signed me up for the rewards program w/o me asking about it.

Wow! 1st time trying this place for donuts. I was SUPER.AMAZED by the flavor of the filled donuts. Peanut butter cream was my favorite but the NEW Strawberry Cheesecake was a very close 2nd. Also there was a Smores donut that my grandson loved❤This place has the best donuts by far in Sandusky, OH.⁰on⁸

A unique take on the donut bakeries of yesteryear, the House of Donuts does a fantastic job with their decor and customer service. Their donuts are so scrumptious and out of this world creative that putting into words to describe how delicious they are would not do them justice. To highlight one, the peanut butter filled long johns are simply the best Ive ever had! The House of Doughnuts is a must visit!

Check out limited-time specialties I went crazy for maple bacon.Older comments pre-2021 are not relevant. New owners, new recipes, new equipment, completely renovated, nothing in common with the old Frosty Frog shop except the location, and the new shop just keeps getting better.

Unfortunately, the order I placed was lost, however as busy as they were I understand and the ladies who were working were very nice and gave us a free dozen that contained a wonderful selection. Everyone was very pleased with the donuts, we will definitely become return customers. Thank you for such personable service and great donuts!

Love the donuts here! I grew up in the area and fell in love with vanilla creme stick donuts. I moved to NYC and found out the dont really do vanilla cream out there... or anywhere nearby! Everytime I visit Ohio I stopped somewhere for a creme stick donut (or a long john to some people) and this is my new favorite stop. Excellent dough, outside has a crispness too it almost like a funnel cake, and that delicious creme is just the right level of sweet.They also have Tofts chocolate milk. Whats a stop in Sandusky without some Tofts chocolate milk?

Everything is HUGE and fairly priced!! I got 6 doughnuts and 24 doughnut holes for only $11!! Taste amazing you can tell they are fresh daily!!

Absolutely delicious donuts (and turnovers - the cherry is my fave) and quick friendly service. It does get pretty busy as its a local favorite, so be sure to go early to avoid missing out on your preferred treats.

Not terrible, but not exactly good either. The filled donuts are kind of heavy textured, and tough. They almost tasted stale because of the texture. Probably wouldnt go there again.

Stopped by this morning because I heard it was under new ownership so thought Id give it a try. The service was poor. Rude person at counter and selection was very limited for 7 in the morning. It cost 15 dollars for a dozen donuts. Better value and variety down the road at Kroger or Jolly Donut.

Showed up at 11:56 and they locked the doors on us and claimed they were “closed”. Through the window they shared they were closed and they didn’t have much donuts left. As our family looked through the window we saw an abundance of donuts. Drove 25 minutes to this place to be turned away at such at arbitrary time. I can’t believe a place like this would turn away paying customers literally at the door.

Wonderful place and the donuts were a big hit with our family. We were in the area visiting Cedar Point over the weekend and their selection of deliciousness was just what we needed for the ride home.

Best homemade donuts you will ever get, reminds me of Tiffin bake shop when they were open. Theres not a donut that they make you can go wrong with. But if you want to cream sick like Tiffin and bake shop they got it!!

So we just drove 30 minutes to get donuts at the house at Donuts just to get up here to find out they are closed even though they showed that they should be open probably wont be coming back

This shop has a great choice of donuts, and apple fritters, coffee, white and chocolate milk, hot tea, orange juice and the help is outstanding.

Not the cheapest donuts or pastries around, but very high quality, large portion and taste amazing. They also stay fresher, longer than most others. Staff is always pleasant.

My son barely ever touches a donut. And he digging into it. My family loves it and each time we visit we hope to come here. I can’t say what our favorite is but I sampled one bite of each donut we had and it’s all delicious. For anyone on the fence about this place. It’s the real deal buy with confidence.

Coupled with fabulous donuts that melt on your mouth, customer service is exceptional and ambiance replicates authenticity and pride. Wishing House of Donuts had more stores/locations in Ohio and Florida where I’m from. Look forward to frequenting House of Donuts each and every Sandusky visit.

I originally wasn’t going to post this because the owner seemed like a nice enough man, but I feel the public needs to know. I bought a half dozen Frosty Frog doughnuts through Marathon Food Mart last night in Norwalk where they are delivered daily. On my third bite into a chocolate glazed, peanut butter filled doughnut I started chewing on, and almost choked on, something that at first felt like a label or piece of parchment paper. After spitting this waxy tasting piece of paper out I realized I was chewing on someone’s used bandaid. I in no way feel that the owner is responsible for this, but through all the hands the doughnuts travelled to get to the display case at Marathon, something went wrong. I guess my advice is eat here and at Marathon with your own discretion and pull apart your filled donut before you eat it.
