Exceptional Service by the Clemons Team! We recently hit something in the lake and did significant damage to our lower units and props. Insurance filed on a Tuesday, replacement lower units approved first thing Wednesday and ordered. The Clemons Service Team went above and beyond having us back on the water Friday. Usually boat rentals dont let you have the dog with you, but Captain Ron didnt even flinch and said we are allowed to take our dog with us. They are nice and know that tourists come from all over the place so they understand in case of anything.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We arrived after 2 hours of driving for them to tell us there were going to be thunder storms later in the afternoon and they wouldnt let us take out the boat. It was a beautiful sunny day. They wouldnt even try to work with us or shorten the rental time.

Overall my experience with Clemons has been extremely positive. I purchased a Cobalt 220 in June 2017 from Clemons. The sales associate Jon Burroughs was extremely friendly, patient and attentive. The day we were scheduled to return the boat the waters got choppy. We were staying in Marblehead. My one year old Boston Whaler has been down for 3 weeks in the middle of the summer. Found out the batteries were bad and covered by warranty. Unfortunately they only provide parts for free so they would not do the work without charging me and would not ship me the replacements so I had to do everything myself. Not a big job but I expected more when buying a $200,000+ new boat from them. Guess thats not the case. Stored my boat there last year. Picked it up and it looked like it was in a dust storm. Not impressed.

I have been looking at buying a boat now for 2 years. I filled out the contact form on the website around 7pm in the evening to get more info. I was expecting to receive a call in the next few days, but it wasnt more than 10 minutes later I recieved a call from Jason asking if he could help me with anything. The next day I met with Steve to show me a few boats, that took about an hour. Right after that I met Leslie and she took care of the financial stuff in about 20 minutes. The following day I signed the paperwork for a new Nautic Star boat. Fast, painless process! I have not gotten to the point where I get to experience their service, that will come in 2019 after the boat is delivered, but I expect the service after I receive the boat will be just as good as the service that I experienced while purchasing the boat!Thanks guys!!

We did an all day boat rental with Clemons on Monday 8/20! The Bennington Tritoon we took out was fantastic! It had amazing pickup and speed for that style of boat (we were tubing at 60mph) and it was easy to use and VERY PLUSH and comfortable!The process of renting was a breeze - you literally couldnt make it any easier in my opinion. The staff is top notch! When Im in the market to make a purchase I know where Ill be going - the BEST boat dealer in Ohio - Clemons!

I have been renting from Clemons for several years now, this year I felt robbed to be honest. I only rented for half a day, it turned out to be 3 hours, and it cost me $560!!We were a larger group so we had to go with it but next time I will be shopping around. the staff was not overly friendly but they were professional and on the task, I like the clemons guys but this time the price was not worth it.

Nice boat ramp close to bay view bridge

Not one to typically write reviews, I feel compelled to hoping to get someones attention. I purchased a leftover 2016 Cobalt last August that was never titled and had a couple of hours on it from boat shows. I dealt with Jon Burroughs over the phone and told him the date and time I would be there with a check. The boat was not prepared (very dirty) and I felt like l purchased a used boat. There was water and rust stains in the compartments and rust stains on the extra cushion cover that are still there today. Upon leaving we had trouble with the trailer because the wood blocks were never removed from the coils. After owning the boat for a few weeks, I realized the sunbrella covers were not working because water continued to get in the boat between the cockpit and the open bow where the velcro attached the two covers. I spent $1,000 dollars on a new cover, one that covers the entire boat, and it works extremely well. The first time I took the boat out I could not understand how the Bimini top supports were to connect to the front of the boat and I was told by Jon to remove the stabilizer bars from the rear of the bimini top and put them up front. This didnt work (after trying for an hour) and I called him back. He looked further into it and told me the support bars were actually under the floor in the compartment between the driver seat and the port seat. I called the service department this past June and explained that all of my owner manuals were ruined from the water that got into the compartment where they were stored and he politely told me that I could purchase new ones. I also told him that my depth finder and Sirus radio on the Garmin was not working and that there was only one fender clip but two fenders. He told me he would look into it and get back to me. I have not heard back from anyone since I purchased this boat. I found out from another boat dealer that the depth finder and the Sirus radio were never set up. (they still arent). I drove 3 hours from out of state to purchase this boat. Very disappointed.

Just back from a week in Sandusky with a three-day tritoon rental from Clemons. Dealt with Tami(?) and Matt. Nice combination of professional, friendly and helpful. They allowed us to shift our rental back one day as we were concerned about the weather. They were still getting used to a new software system, but Matt was hustling to get us out on the water. Answered all my questions. Tami had called a day earlier to ask about payment details for the second half of the bill. This allowed us to go directly to the rental building. The boat worked great. Stereo paired with my phone quickly and always reconnected when we got back to the boat. Less than 80 hours on the Bennington tritoon with 150 Yamaha. We had seven adults and went out to PutInBay and Kelleys around the bay with no problems. The boat worked flawlessly and the folks at Clemons were complimentary when I return to the dock without drama. Im glad I got in before the next two boaters as Matt and some dockhands were scrambling to return the boaters safely to dock. But the whole time they kept their calm working with less experienced boaters.

From Day 1 of when I met Jason Clemons at the Progressive Boat Show at the Cleveland IX Center, I could tell he was one of the Real people. Meaning that he was caring, and truthful. Finding someone like that to guide you thru your very first boat purchase was very important to me. His customer service skills are off the chart. His Dad John, is such a likeable person as well and was the perfect person to be with me on the Sea-Trial of the 1995 Wellcraft 3600 Martinique I was looking to purchase. Tomorrow, Friday 5/27/16 will be the 7th day that I have truly owned the boat as I took delivery of it last Friday 5/20/16 and drove her 3.5 hours across Lake Erie to the Yacht Club I belong to. What a Maiden Voyage. Jason, his Dad John and all the other members of the family known as Clemons Boats are so very dependable and honest. Would never buy another boat from anyone else here in the NE Ohio area. My experience has been a 10 on a scale of 10!

I love Clemons Boats! I have been shopping for a Boston Whaler for ... well ... about 30 years. But seriously shopping starting a couple years ago. I visited Clemons at the Cedar Point Boat Show where I climbed all over the Whalers they displayed. I spent a lot of time sitting in a 150 Montauk they had on a trailer. Just sitting. They kinda looked at me funny, but they could see the wheels turning.I visited the Clemons marina, in Sandusky. I wandered around the Whalers on display. I sat in one, a 130 Super Sport. And sat. And they looked at me funny, but they could see the wheels turning. They never once rushed me or made me feel weird.I visited the Clemons display at the Cleveland Boat Show at the IX Center. Climbed all over the Whalers, again. And sat in one, a 17 Dauntless. And sat. Again.My wife and I then visited the Clemons marina, again, and we BOTH sat in one, the 150 Super Sport ... just thinking ... is this right, is this too small, too big, etc. And we sat and the wheels turned ... and nobody rushed us. They asked if they could help, we generally said nope ... just thinking it over ...And finally, I came in to buy my Whaler. Money in hand. Questions and more questions and follow-up questions. And answers, from Clemons. Good answers. Answers informed by years (and years and years) of experience. Through their customers, they have seen it all, answered all the questions, understood even the questions I wasnt asking but meant to.And that was that.Today, I picked up my 150 Super Sport Boston Whaler. And not just picked up, like groceries. Jason Clemons had the boat at a dock, ready for a run around Sandusky Bay. He patiently explained all kinds of details such as starting the boat, trimming the engine, even a couple different docking lessons (bow first and stern first docking!). He gave a demonstration of getting the boat up on the trailer. And we walked all around that boat, discussed how everything worked: boat, motor, and trailer.By the end of it, I felt like I was in school, but I also felt like I was really well taken care of. Even a small boat is a big check to write, a commitment to a lifestyle change, an opportunity to learn skills, have fun, practice safe boating. Today, I felt like I got a good send-off to all of that.Clemons Boats is more than Boston Whaler, too. In addition to other brands of boats, they also have a rental or time-share type of boat club, for those who dont want all the ownership hassles--just want to get on the water. I also got to see some of their service and parts departments, which was busy as the weather is getting better and folks are asking to get their boats in the water.You will not be sad to do business with Jason Clemons and his whole team. They know their business, and they know how to help their customers enjoy boating!

John Clemons and his staff are super friendly and easy to work with. They were ready for us when we arrived and explained the boat and navigating Lake Erie thoroughly, including a navigation chart with highlighted areas to stay away from. The tri-toon Bennington that we rented was clean and in excellent working order. It was a really comfortable ride both out on the bay and around Kellys Island. One of our passengers unfortunately had a medical issue while out on the lake and we had to come in early. We called John as we were coming in and he had a list of medical facilities in the area waiting for us when we pulled in. Thank you John and your team for a great time out on the lake. Well be back!

I have have owned a Slickcraft, two Lymons, two Searays and two Cobalts. I bought a 27.5 ft open bow Cobalt from Clemons Marine. Jason Clemons is the nicest person to work with. He gave me a great deal but the service after the deal has been unsurpassed. Cobalt boats are top of the line boats. My Cobalt is the smoothest riding boat I have ever owned.I have a dock at Kelleys Island Marina. Each spring Jason drives my boat to my dock. At the end of October I call and Jason takes the boat back. They shine and winterize the boat and deliver it back to Kelleys in the Spring. Last Friday while Jason was delivering the boat back to Kelleys, the boats computer sensed a problem and lowered the rpm. Jason was close to Kelleys so he delivered the boat to my dock. Jason notified me of the problem.The very next morning at 7:30 their mechanic was working on the boat and fixed the problem. Fortunately it was a loose battery cable. That is the kind of service that everyone gets at Clemons Marine. I have dealt with several boat dealerships but Clemons Boats is by far the best. I wont buy a boat.from any other dealer. Rented the 24 Tri-toon for tubing with our family and friends on a beautiful Sunday afternoon on Sandusky Bay. We could not have enjoyed the experience more. John, Tami & Ron made the experience easy and pleasant. The boat was very clean and worked well and the tube was worked fine for a single rider (we had four girls & two boys ranging in ages from 14-19). The 115 HP motor provide a safe amount of thrills for the tuber, but of course all the kids wanted more speed. In fairness, we had a full boat with 12 people (grandma & grandpa got to ride along too). With fewer people the 115 HP engine would be faster (when they sell the boat at retail they equip it with a 150 HP motor)This was our first experience on the Bay and we stayed in the immediate area of the Marina (there is plenty of room for tubing), which was protected from increasing southwest winds. When one of the tube riders wanted a few more thrills, wed move over into the deeper water between the Highway 2 bridge and the railroad bridge where the waves were bigger and that was fun, although occasionally wed all get wet as the boats front end would plow into a rolling wave.If you want, you can take this boat under Highway 2 into Sandusky Bay or past the railroad bridge to Cedar Point and out into Lake Erie and Ron provided the necessary map and pointed out certain tips & techniques. Because this was our first time and the winds were expected to increase we played it safe and maximized our tubing & relaxation time.Well definitely make this an annual tradition!

It’s taken 4 years for Jason Clemons to sell me a Bennington Tritoon. Talk about patience! I owned a 24’ Sea Ray Sundancer at the time and when I mentioned to Jason that I wasn’t thrilled with the boat he suggested a Tritoon. Growing up on Lake Erie as a kid, I just couldn’t get my mind wrapped about the idea of this style of a boat cruising along on Lake Erie. He wasn’t pushy about his product, just secure in his convictions and would always share tidbits of knowledge when I would see him. Then friends of ours purchased a Bennington a couple of years ago and my wife and I joined them on a few boat rides. We were blown away at the comfort of the boat along with the way she handled. After a trip from Sandusky Bay all the way around Kelleys Island and back, my wife commented about how much more comfortable she was on the Bennington than she was on our Sea Ray. I greed and we started to give it some thought.We ended up selling the Sea Ray and went a full summer without a boat. Not good! So over the last year, we really began researching the Bennington brand as well as taking a hard look at the style of boating we enjoyed. A few factors stuck out to us. First, our Sea Ray was limited in the number of people we could take with us comfortably plus we never used the cabin for anything other than storage. The cost to operate the boat was high with filling up with gas running about $300.00 a pop. Then there was the amount of work involved to run the Sea Ray. Constantly trimming the boat to adjust for the waves of the lake plus the way the boat rode was exhausting. I always felt beat up by the time we returned home.We spent the summer without a boat evaluating other brands to make sure the Bennington was for us. We would go out with friends who owned other brands and kept coming back to the Bennington so in January 2016, we decided to pull the trigger. The Clemons family has a long history in the area and is well respected and we knew we were in good hands.We reached out to Jason Clemons and began building our boat. Jason is beyond knowledgeable and is extremely helpful. He guided us through the “must haves” and the “you don’t need that” phase. He was honest and sincere throughout the process. Once we ordered the boat, he kept us up to speed on the build and delivered the boat on time. Jason didn’t miss a beat with anything throughout the entire process.We are beyond thrilled with our Bennington 2016 2250 GSR. Since launching her in April, we’ve enjoyed every minute of our 10 hour break in period. This boat is a source of relaxation and allows us quick access to a short mental break when needed. We’re looking forward to the rest of the summer on our new beauty.To say that we would highly recommend Jason Clemons is an understatement. His attention to customer service is beyond amazing. This guy knows what he is doing and he truly “gets it” when it comes to making buyers feel good about their purchase. We can honestly say there has been no difference in the way we were treated from our first S series purchase to our latest upgrade into an R series.We have never felt pressured, cheated, lied to or ignored when we say. let us think about it.Thank you Jason Clemons(best salesman/GM on the planet !!!!)Our boat buying experience has been absolutely wonderful.Jason has practically bent over backwards in helping us go from an S series Bennington to a luxurious high performance R series while working to keep it at a price we could afford.Not only that ----but he even took the time to personally take us outon two other styles of boats ( Cobalt R5 and Boston Whaler 250 Outrage) so we could be absolutely sure a Bennington Tritoon was best for us.Bottom line -----I would recommend Clemons boats to anyone who is tired of being pushed around by other dealers.
