Ssssshhhh....we dont want this quiet neighborhood gem to get too much attention...its perfect the way it is! This family run operation (Rene, Daisy and Edson) is the perfect place to meet up with friends...plenty of parking, plenty of seating plus an amazing beer selection and a menu full of flavor-rich meals and appetizers. We love Big Rock Cafe and BBQ :)

My buddy has been telling me about this place for months. I finally came with him, and ill definitely be coming back. I felt very welcomed, almost as if I was visiting a family member house. The food is amazing and the portions will leave you full no matter how hungry you come.

I LOVE this place. The BBQ is the best around, the nachos are also my go to, very friendly owners, and the best beer around! Their rotating taps and patio are perfect for cocktail hour and they have a great selection to go!

This place is incredible! First, the owners a Guatemalan family are so kind and hospitable. There service is top notch, efficient and quick. Second, the food is fantastic. The bbq was juicy, with the perfect amount of smoke. I had the ribs and brisket and highly recommend them both. My husband had the grilled salmon that was cooked the perfect medium rare. I got a tamale to go. It blew me away! It is not a traditional tamale from Mexico, but rather a Guatemalan family recipe. The pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned and there was a hint of prune inside too. I am not a fan of sweet meat, and this flavor combination surprised me and was fabulous together. Third, their selections of local microbrewery beers, especially IPAs and Hazy IPAs was vast. (Remember this is a tiny mini mart!) They also had some very unique, locally made Marin county wines. Finally, their outdoor eating area had a number of handmade rocking chairs and some rustic, cool looking wood picnic tables. They had a Cornhole game too. This place, people and food rock! They were so nice and made a very hungry couple a scrumptious veggie sandwich on fresh, toasted roll - - just right ratio veggie to carbThe right combo of veggies & avocado!! Nice casual atmosphere - outdoor sitting. Groovy music - Ivy Queen❣ If we can we will come back for BBQ -smelled it cooking. And the desserts looked tempting too!! It was getting busy when we dropped by at 3:30pm. Thanks Big Rock!!

Ive been coming here for over 10 years and it was nice to see some upgrades and hear of new ownership. The Philly steak was good, loved it but it wasnt like the previous owners Philly steak which was just perfect IMHO. I will no doubt come back and try their pizza offerings.

Good sandwiches and a nice outside area. Outside of the deli and drinks, there isnt a whole lot to offer. Staff wasnt the friendliest but werent unpleasant.

BBQ is always great, and if there are tamales you should definitely try them!

Great home made smoked ribs and chicken.

Id passed this mini-mart a few times and been curious to check out what was in there. For some reason leaving work today I had the overpowering urge to go there. It meant getting off the highway an exit earlier than I usually do and driving down Lucas Valley Road.Inside was a typical highway mini-mart. Not a lot of decor, usual fare of hostess cakes and beer and soda. But behind the counter a man was cutting a delicious-smelling pizza and I saw they had a menu of sandwhiches and other lunch items.I took a chance and ordered a spicy chicken quesadilla. It was th ebest damned spicy chicken quesadilla I ever had in my life.Go eat a spicy chicken quesadilla here.
