I had what appeared to be a slow leak in one tire. instead of making me hang around for hours waiting for an available technician, the wonderful man at the desk made a 4:00 appt for me. I got there 5 minutes early, my car was on the lift almost immediately. The man who helped me explained the repair process, then after the repair told me there was a nail in the tire, where it was, and that the repair would take care of the problem. I was so relieved.

Recently moved from SF and I have all my connections in the city but I was really hoping to be able to have some great go to places here as well. This was the first time since my hubby & I bought our car that we needed our tires changed. I also needed a quick refresher course on which tires would be the best for this car at a great price, of course. :)Ruzzell was an amazing teacher. Great listener too! Michael was very personable as well and very helpful over the phone and in person. Their team did an amazing job. Poor communication and unprofessional staff. I understand being understaffed, it’s common now days. There was only one service writer on a Monday handling all customers so I give him credit for working hard. However, he had poor communication skills at customers expense. Not explaining services, being short with customers, overall poor verbiage.It was how the shop guys came in and spoke to him that really stood out. The guy in the shop with piercings in bith ears was as rude as could be. He came in twice and made snarky comments to the service writer about mistakes he was making. Not professional or nice like co workers should be and in front of customers. This frazzled the service writer and was quite disruptive. Overall I will try to avoid this Big O I have never experienced this before at any Big O facility. Sad

I dont see an option for 0 stars! Went in for a free alignment check, 2 hrs later they are trying to over charge me for ball bearing hub and breaks. The amount of incompetence runs through out this shop. They charged me $82 and didnt even check my alignment! They quoted me $1,325 for hub and breaks. After researching 3 other shops that $1,325 was $400 higher @ little o. The next day they are texting me to give them a review? Seriously! I feel bad for the employees because its clearly poorly managed.

I had a great experience with Big O Tires recently. I had two flats that needed to be fixed. The manager, Erick, was very helpful and patiently answered all my questions when I first called. Once I brought my car in, he was super professional and quick. They started work on my car right away and had it ready to go in just a couple of hours. I would definitely use their services again.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The manager greeted everyone who walked in with a smile and greeting. I had two tires replaced, i was in and out within an hour.

Available when I called. They were able to get me in and out for an oil change, tire alignment and wheel balance within about an hour 15. The guys at the front were both so professional and polite and you can tell customer service is a priority. The one man at the front checked several times to give me updates and was so on top of it.

Better service than the East Bay Big Os (Berkeley was always a sad drawn-out experience). Honored my groupon for alignment and the full synthetic oil change was reasonably priced. My stigma around Big O has been lifted thanks to the good service here at San Rafael. It is clearly location based.

My car was overheating so I stopped here for a check up on all the fluids. Waited 10 min to ask if I can be seen that day. To my surprise 10min later ... the car was done. Great service!!!!!

Would have preferred to post privately to BigO, but link didn’t provide option. Lines were long and disorganized. Team needs more front office staff and training. I was Frustrated with $25 of add on fees for $50 GroupOn “purchase”. Did not receive any inspection reports or detail (did I pass, did I fail?) for lights, wipers, filters, hoses, belts, etc. I’m assuming they skipped this. Did not provide or offer tire rotation or alignment check. Basically value was not as advertised. Seemed the staff was overwhelmed and needs more support from leadership.

I had a really good service there. The manager Mike was very nice and knowledgeable and worked with me well. I had gotten my car aligned and when they were done, my car ran perfect. They made me fell comfortable and the place was clean with a good atmosphere. I’m definitely a loyal customer now!!!

This was my second time using this shop in a month. The first time I had repairs done on my car I was new to the Marin area and went to a mechanic close to my house, that ended up being the biggest mistake of my life. This Big O Tires is what I had hoped the first place I went to was going to be like. I cannot stress enough to anyone who needs any type of car repair in Marin that this is the place to go to. Honest, straight forward employees, extremely easy to work with, fast professional, and prices that beat any of the competition I have seen around town. You can stop looking for a legit shop and come here. Thank god I was able to find this place on my second time searching around the Marin mechanic market.

Everyone was so helpful for our urgent need for 4 new tires. They made the process of ordering the tires and putting them on seamless. We couldn’t be happier with the all—around service.

I showed up with no appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. They warned me they were short staffed by were very accommodating. The first time I came here was years ago. I dont live close by, so I never made this my regular shop. My boss told me its the best place, she was so pleased with them. She stated that they service all the postal vehicles so they must be the best! Going in their service and friendly professional behavior reinforces that notion.I went here yesterday because I work nearby. They were so very nice and they were accommodating with me and my special needs.I have decided to make this location my door regardless of not being near my home. Ive been to a number of places and theyre fine except Chevy in Concord, the dealership where I purchased my vehicle which has horrible service. This place, however, was better than fine, theyre above average and I am grateful

The clerk was very careful to check the car and tell me its current condition before changing the oil. It was supposed to be finished in one and a half hours, but it was finished in one hour. Very efficient and careful. Ill come again.

Was traveling and needed to get an oil change. Searched Groupon and found a deal for Big O Tires. They got me in right away and did a quality job. They were energetic and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend anyone who lives in this area to come to this shop.

Andrew was awesome. One of our vans blew a tire on the freeway and the driver pulled off the freeway and into Big O Tires, and they had us out in less than a hour. Diamond tire center company down the street said it wouldnt be until the end of the day to get to us. Andrew showed what real customer service is, the real way customer service was back in the 60s.

Well to start things off, I went in for an EASY flat repair because I had a nail in the middle of my tire. The service was decent, pretty quick. HOWEVER, $50 bucks for a flat repair?! That is unacceptable. I worked at les schwab were flats are free, America’s tire where my boyfriend worked, was free! And to be 50 was beyond crazy. ESPECIALLY considering my tires were brand new. But hey Bay Area I guess!

Oh my goodness the guys that work at this tire shop are simply amazing. I was in a bind traveling from out of town and they were super busy and THE MANAGER jumped in the shop to help so I could get back on the road right away. We go here regularly for maintenance and brakes for our Toyota Sienna minivan. Prices and great, quality of work is as good as the dealer, and getting appointments and the time it takes them to finish the work while we wait is awesome! Mike is our main point of contact and he’s spot on with advice and never upsells. Very happy customer!

Great service! Called last minute on a Saturday, yet they still managed to squeeze me in. Thought my car would be there until closing but they called me an hour later informing me my flat had been repaired, and my car was ready for pick up. I was very grateful to Big O tires for squeezing me in amidst all their other appointments yesterday. I had a tire that was fit to blow out on me. I was given a window of when my work would be done. They went above and beyond and had the service done very quickly well ahead of that time.

The staff gave the replacements at very high $1100, and $2400 nonsensible!we thought thats not true. However, they charged for checking labor fee $140. Okay, all right, thats Big O Tires only can charged from me lastly.

Unfortunately, I can only warn you about the sophisticated scam Big O Tire Shop in San Rafael. Personally, I can only call it deliberate fraud. Here is my story:On March 1st, 2021, at 01:58 pm, I filled out the online form and got an offer for four new tires on the Big O Tire website. The price is 632 dollars (after a $50 rebate) with a free alignment check. Big O Tire informed me of this in an email. (See attached photo)On March 1st, 2021, at 02:34 pm, Andrew from Big O Tire, San Rafael called me and told me that the four tires were unavailable. He had other tires, but they were $300 more expensive. When I turned down the offer, he said he could get the tires, that were out-of-stock a minute ago, the next morning. All I needed to do was, come over and leave a $200 deposit. The deposit would be adjusted in the above-quoted price. I went and paid the deposit in person.On March 2nd, 2021, when the tires were fitted, and I was supposed to pay the bill, Andrew suddenly wanted to charge $756 to my credit card. I supposed the $756 was a total of the $632 and a service charge as the alignment was supposed to be free. When I asked about the $200 deposit, Andrew assured me that it was just a security deposit and I would get it back.On March 4th, 2021, I checked my credit statement and found that I had signed an invoice for a total of $956 to Big O Tire. I called Andrew about it and was blatantly told,” Check the bill you signed.”Unbeknownst to me, I had been charged $179.99 for Wheel Alignment- 1-year Specialty and $23.58 for Tire Protection Plan-ABS. I was not consulted about either of these and as a trusting customer, I had signed the bill summary. Also, the promised $50 rebate is available ONLY if you sign for the Big O Tire credit card.Big O Tire in San Rafael is unfortunately is a fraudulent business that is scamming trusting customers. I can only warn everyone to think twice before you do business with the branch.

This is kinda a small but annoying thing. Big O installed my tires like two months ago. Then i got a flat tire. They say they cannot repair my tire because of the locking lugs. Now i never had or gave them keys for lugs so how do we get the tire fixed?

Big O, who knew! I called them based on their 2 free tire purchase promo. I was in desparate need of tires and due to onging issues with my Chevrolet, I elected to get the promo and then continue working with Chevrolet to battle the challenges with my car. At least there would be tread!My service agent was Michael in San Rafael, or should I say Saint!! Difficult times since the Chevy seemed to be incapable of being repaired by Chevrolet Novato, the car was shutting down and needed to be jumped almost every time I tried too start it, despite a replacement battery just being installed..Another story!Enter Michael! Treated with respect and understanding, my husband had just had hip replacement surgery and we needed safety and dependable transportation. Car might not run, start or have lights, but there would be tread!I explained my challenges to Michael, who took an interest in assisting me with their testing, that also is part of the service. He enlightened me to his findings and even offered to replace my headlight bulbs, once I purcased them from ORileys. They had started going out, despite Chevys attempt of replacing a bulb a month before!Again about my experience, Michael cared about my famiies safety and took extra care and time with,1st, listening...2nd, showing me the results of his testing.I was so grateful. Great job Michael and Big O. The service and care far surpassed that of a National Dealership, Chevrolet Novato. I always believed the Dealerships to be more reputable! I could not have been more wrong! And to have an employee like Michael, Big O has a great formula putting service, care and safety above a quuick sale! It was refresing and took some pressure off my shoulders!Thank you for showing me that there is still integrity out there. My saga continues but I am better informed, with safe tires. The car? I will continue with Big O following the purchase of a different car, from Toyota!

Not a very happy experience in larkspur location. I had appointment at 3. I sit in the small rest area for an hour, wait there till 4. They told me they will start working on my car and they apologize. In 20 mins it’s done. I don’t know if they did everything right, I couldn’t check. The only thing I know is they didn’t even put a new sticker on my front window. Sign. I guess I won’t go back to this location anymore!
