My entire experience at the Trek San Rafael store was fantastic! Literally the entire team was helping me, one person working on my tires, another helping me with a kid bicycle trade in and new purchase (along with installing training wheels), while I was able to order a new eMTB. The staff answered all my questions, very patiently and offered me with great options for all my requests. I really felt treated with respect and professionalism. I will definitely go back there to purchase future bikes and related equipment.

I was having problems with my chain and gear cassette slipping and the mechanics at the San Rafael Trek store did a very good job of correcting the problem with the least cost. They also had some very cool new bike designs in the store.

Ive wanted to buy a bicycle for the last 2 years. Whenever Ive rented a bike (from SF to Sydney) the tour companies always have Trek bikes! So, I knew that these bikes were designed for comfort and durability. Since COVID I was unable to find a bike to purchase. On whim, I thought Id give the San Rafael store a call. As luck would have it, there were 2 bikes available. Worked out perfectly, because I also wanted to buy a bike for my Son. We could bike together! I spoke with Teddy at San Rafael and he answered all of my questions and made it easy to buy 2 bikes over-the-phone. The Store Manager, Tyler, delivered my bikes to the house. It was like Christmas morning to actually have the bikes ready to-go. Moreover, it was one of my best purchasing experiences; specifically, by connecting with Teddy (who just took care of everything) and the next-level service of the delivery by Tyler. After the bike purchases, Teddy also recommended products that I didnt think about - helmet (duh), water bottle cages, and kickstands. Its been a long time since Ive owned a bike (+20 years), so I didnt consider all that I needed before I took my first ride. Awesome experience and Ive already ridden my bike 20 miles over the weekend. Thank you Teddy and Tyler! Im a customer for life.

I was shocked to see some of the negative reviews that popped up on this page. I have received the best customer service at this shop, from the owner and from the staff. I have purchased 2 bikes there and many assessories. The service department is especially good. Also particularly good is their ability to fit the bike to the person, in terms of size.

Pretty much every time I go there they are incredibly rude and dismissive. I’ve literally never written a review before but at this point I think people should know. Any bike issue no matter how minuscule they will ask you to leave your bike for near a weak. They DO NOT do any on the spot repairs I honestly think that if you had a flat they would make you leave your bike for a week and than over charge you for a tube.Mikes Bikes is a much better bet.

Fast and friendly service

Rare occurrence where somebody in the Marin bicycle community is extremely uncool. The owner Scott has a horrible attitude when dealing with his customers. He had actually forgotten about the bike that was brought to his attention, and walked away while we asked about purchasing a bike from him. Average selection at high prices with horrible custom service, thankfully Marin has much better locations on offer.

Acme bikes is a great. They always accommodate my time schedule and get repairs done in a timely matter. Down to earth employees dont talk to you like they are above you. They took care of a brake warranty with ease, had my new brake within a week.

Went in there for advice. The place was empty and the older guy working there was dismissive and incredibly rude. Went down the street to Mikes and bought my ebike there (they were awesome).

Came in for the first time. I was greeted by a friendly staff. Shiloh helped me fix my bike in about 10 minutes. Gave me a great price and totally hooked me up. These guys are bike enthusuasts and it shows. I will definitely come back.

As far as bike stores go, this place is as close to perfect as it gets. Ive been bringing my commuter/road bike to Acme and three other bike stores in San Rafael for about 7 years now, and Acme is my fave, mainly because their mechanics do superior repair and maintenance work at competitive prices.Because theyve become more popular, youll probably have to schedule an appointment--unless you come in at an off-peak time. Then just go window-shopping, or to the nearby cafe while they fix your bike.

These guys are real pros. Offer very reasonable service quotes and then they dont push you to do what is not necessary now. They are quick and if your looking for a new ride, they really know they stuff!

Acmes customer service is outstanding. And their work on my bikes have always been impeccable and fair. Theyre always ready with helpful advice and direction when and if its necessary to do a repair or servicing.

Rented mountain bikes today. Our original plan was to bike at Camp Tam Rancho, but took the bike shops recommendation based on our desires and skill level to go to Mt. Tam instead. It was an amazing recommendation, and the rentals were in perfect condition. He made sure we didnt leave for our trek without all the gear necessary. For the record:Mt. Tam: 1Me: 0

Good selection. Helpful staff.I walked in to check out a bike and the staff immediately directed me towards the bike sitting next to it for $2000 more. I kept re-focusing and they kept re-directing.My take, they are interested in getting you inside and selling the most expensive thing available not discussing what you are interested in. Left with a bad overall experience.

Excellent shop with the best mechanics in San Rafael. Instead of ripping you off with excessive things you dont need they are fair and knowledgeable about all Bicycles.

Excellent repair shop and mechanicsI bought both my commute bike and road bike here and always bring my bike to Acme for tune ups and repairs that I do not have time to do myself. I live in Novato and have tried to find a comparable shop closer to home but there are none. And Ive tried them all. Acme is the best.

I bought a Trek Èmonda S5 2016 model, they didnt have my size 47CM the gentleman recommended I find one in my size somewhere to test fit; I did so and returned the ordering process was fast, and easy the hard part is waiting for my new ride, I purchased SPD pedals also at a great price $44.00 before discount, and any gear you buy when you buy a bike is discounted too! Plus Acme offers tune ups with your purchase. So far Im thrilled, Ill update after I receive my bike. So far I recommend.

Ive been a very satisfied customer of Acme since the pre-Acme days. They have a knowledgeable staff, a top notch service crew and excellent pricing (and they take care of you after your purchase). I got my Gary Fisher (now Trek) 29er hardtail from them more than a decade ago (with a Klein frame credit). Theyve helped me keep my rig in shape during years of Marin mountain biking. Last year, I bought a Trek Domane carbon road bike from them knowing that Id not only be happy with the bike but also with their support. A top notch bike shop. And I bought a t-shirt. Pretty cool.
