Paul was very pleasant to deal with to have my Mercedes e400 serviced there. They did a great job my car feels much better. I took my car to Paul instead of the dealer for the 50,000 mile service and my car feels like it did when I bought it. So I am very happy and have had no issues and think it was a fair deal. Thank you Paul and crew for taking care of me. Good job on my tune up.
I am sure, depending on what type of car you have, that Heynnemans is the perfect place for you. You have that car, that needs custom, high-end, meticulous service. Paul is the nicest guy and *extremely* thorough. He is adamant about ONLY using the most high end parts etc. and doesnt compromise. I think he mentioned to me, my shop is the place you bring your car if you want it to run forever. But, i was stunned by the sticker price. My Audi Care ran out and I was looking for somewhere to bring it for an oil change. I was not doing the full service which they only do every 2 years, just the basic oil change. And I brought him the records from Audi outlining what was needed. The price was nearly $450. I was a bit speechless, but I always struggle with walking out of a place once the wheels are in motion. That is on me. That said, I know he used only the most high end parts and the best oil. I bet if you are a car collector this is your guy. For me, I cant afford this type of service long term and wish I would have asked more questions before I brought in the car.
Bringing my car to Paul was one of THE best choices that Ive ever made, seriously. I bought a 2014 BMW 535i in June of 2020 from a dealership in San Rafael and within 2 months it became problematic. From August 2020 to April 2021 my car was in the shop for various issues every. single. month; some months more than once. Every time that Id drive I was constantly worried because issues kept arising seemingly out of the blue. Lets just say that this car became the bane of my existence for real! Then. . . a family friend suggested I take my car to Heynneman European. After the first time I talked to Paul I knew that I had finally landed in good hands. Though it took a bit of trial and error at first, Paul was able to accurately diagnose the issues with my car. He also priced everything out for me and told me which problems need to be fixed asap and which I could wait on (my budget was limited). Within a matter of days Paul and his technicians fixed all of the major issues! Prior to bringing my car to Heynneman European, I had taken it to 5 different mechanics and spent thousands of dollars, and none of the problems were fixed.Though I now live outside of Marin, I will continue being a customer here. Paul is super knowledgeable, honest, trustworthy, and genuine. Aside from buying this car in the first place, my only regret is not going to Heynneman European sooner! FIVE STARS!
What you get from Paul Heynneman and Heynneman European is outstanding attention to detail, great quality of work on things ranging from major engine and transmission overhauls down to careful trim and cosmetic work, and everything in between. Cars can be expensive, and high quality work tends to be as well--I always walk out the door feeling that the value of what Im getting in having Pauls shop working on my vehicle is a good one. I have been at other shops and the dealer as well for service, and I have been choosing Heynneman for the past several years exclusively.
Paul the owner was great. The work done to my Audi A6 was top notch. I had my differential and tyranny serviced. Then, when a coolant reservoir they repaired failed and started leaking they replaced it for free, right away, no questions asked. When my car leaked water by the feet they cleared the drainage and cleared the engine lights without further incident. Yes they were a little more per hour labor, and the work was done right not leading to further labor hours needed. Heynneman diagnosed correctly the first time, each time.
Literally the worst. Totally took advantage of my older mother. Almost $1000 to tell her that they couldn’t find out why her battery keeps dying. Had her car for three weeks - didn’t begin working on it until the middle of the third week.
My first experience with Heyneman motors was excellent. Paul the owner is an excellent communicator and knows what he is doing ! I had been told by VW that I needed to spend 1600 $ on a leak that it turns out didn t exist . Paul is honest and highly experienced. I highly recommend his services
I brought my 2013 BMW into the dealership and received a $8000 quote for a variety of issues that needed attention. I spoke with Paul Heynneman and he did the job for almost half the price even after finding other issues the dealership mechanic missed. Paul Heynneman is knowledgeable and fair. I will be bring my car back to him next time it is need of servicing.
I have amazing respect for Paul and his great team. I’ve had BMWs for over 30 years and it’s very rare when I find a shop this exceptional at both solving problems and having such great customer service as well. Paul and his team are simply the best! I highly recommend them!
I have been fortunate to rely on Paul for simple maintenance to overwhelmingly mechanical repairs with honesty and integrity for more than ten years.
All work was done according to the estimate and original service plan.
Feeling like you are being treated fairly, honestly, and professionally is critical in working with anyone doing work on your vehcile. My safety and my familys safey depends on it. Paul gave me in depth explanations for the work that needed to be done, and provided me a good logistical schedule for it. I cant recomend Heynneman enough.
Paul is truly great. He and hi team very much deserve 5 stars! Im a fan of Heynneman for their work and their exception customer service. Best indy shop Ive ever been to.
This shop does quality work. Ive been taking my R32 there for years now, and have been happy ever since. Wouldnt trust it with anyone else. They only put quality parts on the car, and wont try to sell you on something that isnt needed. Theyll go the extra mile to explain things, show you on the car, and show that they stand behind their word.Basically youll leave their shop knowing you made the right choice.
Love the gang at Heynnemans! Always helpful, friendly and acomodating. Even in the early hours when you drop off your car they greet you with smiles and excellent service. We have been taking our cars to Pauls for years and years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend. Definitely one of the best of Marin...
Our Smart Car was towed by AAA with a dead battery. They installed a new battery, and reported thin front brake lining. They relined the front brakes and reported old and worn tires. All 4 tires were replaced. These warnings were unreported by thedealership where the car was purchased. Im grateful for the extra margin of car safetyHeynnemans inspections uncover. The car is performing well. I trust Heynnemansfor their service, advice and excellent mechanical knowledge.
Nicest guys in San Rafael, always a fair and complete job done.
I brought my Prius in for 145K scheduled service: The overall service and attention to detail was outstanding. This was the first time I brought the car to Heynnemans. They gave it a total evaluation to make sure nothing major was lurking. Highly recommended!
This has been the worst commercial experience Ive ever had in my life.I towed my car to this shop because its close to where I live and they specialize in European cars.My car had 2 problems: it didnt hold idle and it had a check engine light. For reference my car is pretty old and its market value is around 2k.With my car already at the shop I got a quote for diagnosing it of up to 580 USD. I accepted this quote because it would have been more expensive to tow the car somewhere else.A few hours later I received a phone call saying that they had spent already the time they quoted for and in order to diagnose the issue it would be up to 1000 USD.The next day I receive another call and the owner tells me that my car needs a lot of work including a new timing belt and the quote was 2.7k (remember I said before my car is work 2k), he assured me that this repair would fix BOTH of my issues. My response was that I had to think about it. The next day The owner called me again and I told him that I did not want to move forward with the repair, then he kindly reminded me that I still would owe him 1k for diagnosing the issues. I reconsidered the situation and for an increment of 1.7k I thought I made sense to fix the car.I paid my bill, took my car back and a few miles later the check engine light was on again. I took the car back to the shop and the owner quoted me for another repair worth 1.1KWait! didnt I pay 1k to diagnose the issues my car had in the first place? didnt the owner told be that they both would be fixed with the first repair?I obviously complained and he offered me a 50% discount on labor for this repair. This would bring the cost down to 800 USD. I shouldnt have but I approve the new quote.OK, next day, I pick up my car, the owner tells me that the issue is fixed for sure now because even though they had not charge me for diagnosing they verified that the component replaced did not work properly. After driving another 100 miles or so the check engine light came back on. At this point I had spent 3.5k on my car and it;s still not fixed.I brought my car back to the shop and the owner tells me its not a good time (admittedly it was a Friday at 4pm but still I dont think thats how you should treat a costumer you have failed to twice). The next week over the phone he quotes me another 600 dollars repair this same issue. I obviously did not accept. So at this point I have wasted 3.5k and still have a car that cant pass smog which means I cant sell it and I wont be able to drive it in a few months when I have to pass smog for the registration. This shop does not stand behind their repairs. If you charge a customer 1k for diagnosing this diagnose must be accurate and if its not the shop should be liable for it.Also, I understand this is Marin and people can set their prices wherever they want but this shop is extremely expensive.Edit: It was not my intention to offend you in any possible way or damage your business, Im sharing my experience so hopefully you can better help other costumers in the future.I will reiterate though, if you charge a costumer 1k for diagnosing and the diagnosis is wrong the shop should be liable for the mistake and not the costumer.I would like to add that the owner is a nice guy.
Consistently awesome work!
Finding a new mechanic is scary! I was taken care of immediately, thoroughly, efficiently, and courteously. What more can you want? I will be back. Gerrie
Paul and Gary know every minute detail about maintaining European cars and I trust them 100%. They keep my cars in fantastic condition. Great customer service.
A well-versed and knowledgable team of experts, with a family owned familiarity and earnest. I am not a wealthy individual, so the pricing was hard for me, but well worth it. The knowledge and expertise of the foreman Gary and his crew made me feel grateful for choosing Heynneman.
I really appreciate the expertise of Heynnemans. We have a 2006 Volvo xc70 that needed some special attention. We had never take the car to a Volvo specialist and really should have been the entire time we have owned the car. They fixed the immediate problems which other mechanics could not identify and also let us know about the future work that needed to be done to promote the longevity of the car. Its not cheap but getting quality work done on your car is the most important piece. Thanks guys!
Thanks Paul for fitting me in when my brake warning light came on on Friday afternoon, and I was driving to Tahoe on Wednesday. Also, for finding me 4 new tires, when the model was pretty much out if stick until sometime in June.Personal service at its best.
Appointment was given very fast.Gary is has a good knowledge of the BMW and found the problem right away. His advices were very logic.
Paul and his team always provide thorough and excellent service using the highest quality replacement parts.
I have a mechanic in Petaluma I typically use but needed work done quickly within close proximity to work in Marin. I worked with Paul to replace the water pump on my 05 Passat. He reported back that it needed a lot more than that which he found out through being so thorough, even going through all my old service records. Makes sense as he said more than once from the get-go that he likes to do things right the first time. My car also came back to me cleaner than Ive seen it in months!Very friendly, accommodating, and upfront. You cant beat great work and customer service, a free loaner car, and cookies always out on the front desk.
Good personal service. They are very knowledgeable about my older BMW. They seem to really care about the car.
Great People - Great Great Service. They will beat the pants off of your dealers pricing
Paul runs a tight ship. Very personal service.
Always the best! Thanks
Quick, easy, reliable and friendly. cant beat that!
Excellent service and expertise.
