Pretty accommodating, I was in and out in 90 minutes. Never got a calibration report. Had to back fill one 6 section beneath the passenger wiper blade because the moulding wasnt tight to the glass and I was worried about water freezing in the space if it got cold enough. Otherwise the job was clean. 2016 Prius.
Extortion. My insurance never called to tell me the procedure would cost me $570. If they had, i would have waited or dropped the idea altogether, with current economics as they are. Safelite was supposed to verify my coverage before the procedure. I called and emailed six times; no response.] NM I brought proof of insurance for everyones peace of mind but nobody checked it to ensure i was covered. And who walks around with $570 extra dollars for no reason? (If you answered, I do, okay, congratulations; WHAT are you doing reading this?) It was nice of the guy at the desk to offer to take 40 bucks off the bill but for some of us the difference between $570 & $530 is negligible. When i told him my dilemma, he explained that he didnt work at that unit normally and a week later I STILL cant figure out what that meant; maybe he thought that since he worked in Concord that I would abandon my whole deadbeat angle and throw down six hundred dollars. My insurer failed to do its job. I cant say Safelite did its job. I did. I paid for a year of insurance.
Great customer service. Friendly staff. Victor did an excellent fixing a chip in my windshield and worked very efficiently. Top notch experience.
Roger was very nice and professional and he did an amazing job!
Great service. Fast, professional and easy. Plus my insurance covered the crack repair! All in under 30 minutes. EXCEPTIONAL WORK!
After waiting 2 weeks for my window replacement, on the day they were supposed to do the repairs they called to say they didnt have the glass but would call me later that day to let me know what was happening. They never called. They never called the next day. I finally called them. It took about 4 hours to track down anyone (human, not recording) who could tell me anything. He said it would be another 2 weeks. I called another company and they had my window replaced the next day.
Now - since Mike Smith is gone, this IS THE PLACE! the NEW MANAGER IS GREAT!
Very friendly efficient staff.
My 20 year old daughter brought her car in and was barely acknowledged by staff. Her insurance was paying for this windshield to be replaced. My daughter said no other customers were there at this time but the office lady finally said, “this will take an hour and 1/2”! I got called by my daughter to pick her up because evidently popping a windshield out is now taking close to two hours. Very disturbing service. We won’t be back !
Canceled last minute. Let me just say. In any business, a last minute cancelation, is the worst. You should of figured a way to make the appointment you guys set happen, instead of canceling. For that I would never recommend any company to this place. Thanks for the apology but in the future you should guarantee your appointments. Have a good day.
The technician was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The installation of my window was done in a short period of time with great expertise and enthusiasm. They have my recommendations.
Technician was friendly. Installation of glass went well. One star off because even though I made an appointment days in advance, they still had to check to see if my windshield was in stock when I arrived. This made me nervous. I feel with a pre-made appointment, everything should be ready to go when you arrive. What if they didnt have it? I traveled 30mi in heavy traffic for no reason? Luckily all my parts were available, but this protocol makes me leery of using them in the future.
The repair was so bad that both side clips was out and one flew on the freeway across the drivers side windshield putting my family in danger.
They keep making appointments to fix my car window and keep bringing the wrong glass to repair my car after saying they have the right one. It’s been almost 2 weeks! I can’t get ahold of any customer service person. This place is aweful so far. Wish I would’ve used a different place.
Started with a windshield chip on new 2020 car, which the first tech turned into a crack (rarely happens, lucky me). $500, 4 appointments and 3 windshields later, exposed wires behind rear view mirror, an interior part broken and unable to calibrate the newer model (whats the purpose of driving 30 miles), cant say Im happy. Should have just gone to the dealership (but this was an insurance recommended place, time for new insurance too). The star is because I found a great coffee shop while waiting. 😊
Was the best fast and efficient, friendly will tell other people
Wonderful people, same day service, fast and back on the road safely.
Quick, kind, clean and courteous!
The abundance of 1-star reviews should be a huge red flag - avoid this place if you can. I got a passenger window replaced on my car, and their technician damaged the locking controls in the same door. They told me that I would have to take it to a dealership to get it fixed since the technician couldn’t figure it out. They stated that per company policy, they would reimburse me for any damages related to their work. So, the next morning, I take my car to the dealership, and Safelite calls me and tells me that I should JUST get a diagnostic - not a repair - and that they have a certified shop that can work on my car instead. Again, this is less than a day after multiple people at Safelite told me that I MUST take it to the dealership because they couldn’t fix it themselves. They did a complete reversal on what they had told me, and then tried insisting that they would not pay for the $225 diagnostic charged by the Dealership since the diagnostic was not part of the damage. The diagnostic was only necessary because of the damage the Safelite technician caused to my vehicle! According to the Dealership, the technician pried my door panel off without first disengaging the proper lever, over-drilled, and completely severed the wire that connected the mechanical portion of the lock to the rest of the electronic system. This resulted in repairs that cost me almost $1,700.One of their service reps, Melissa, was as helpful as she could have been. I communicated with her directly, which was absolutely necessary, considering it is extremely difficult to reach them on the phone. She told me that all of this is what their “Quality Manager” was telling her - unfortunately I was unable to speak to this individual during any point in this situation. Needless to say, I am astounded by the lack of professionalism and accountability at this place. It’s a shame that they did anything possible to avoid acting in accordance with their own stated policy. Do yourself a favor and don’t make the same mistake myself and many others have.Update: I was told that my repair costs of would be refunded to me, in full, within a few days after I had thought I settled the issue. It’s now been a week and I haven’t received anything, much less an update on where my $1,700 is at.Update 2: I posted this same review on the Safelite website and it was never published, despite having email confirmation. Interesting. Pretty miraculous that their own websites rating is 4.5 stars - must be because they dont publicize negative reviews. Love the transparency.
Dont let them rip off your nuts!(the ones that attached your windshield wipers blades!)Everyone makes mistakes from time to time so I was real understanding when the technician called me the day after he installed my auto glass and told me that he had forgotten to put the nuts back on my windshield wipers and wanted to swing back by to reinstall them. Since I work from home it would be no big deal for him to swing by and reattach them. My cars in the driveway about 90% of the time. That was two weeks ago! In the 2 weeks since, he has not found a chance to come back and put the to nuts on because he has other jobs to do.How he can start new jobs when he has not finished mine!I really dislike it when people mistake my good nature for a willingness to be ignored! My patience has limits. And at two weeks they have turned me from fan to an enemy.I got rained on on the bridge and my wind shield wipers were not working. Scary! Dangerous! Illegal!Im sure my insurance company would not be too happy about them leaving me it with nonworking windshield wipers (with rain in the forecast)I had an arrangement with him yesterday to come by around 3 which he canceled and then never returned my texts.Ive have had it! Thats why Im leaving a bad review here and anywhere else I can. Heading into memorial day weekend. I dont dare go anywhere. Thanks Safelite.
The staff at Safelite auto glass in San Rafael was very friendly and did a great job to the windshield of my mini Cooper. I dropped my car off and it was finished within hours. I was amazed when the technician took time to show how my windshield spider crack can very easily spread out with inside pressure. I highly recommend these guys for auto glass replacement.
Really nice and clean shop.. Alex was the most courteous young fella and kept me updated on the progress of my installation. I waited for about 45 minutes and the other two techs didnt work on my vehicle for quite a while, but when Alex showed up on his van, he immediately started working on my vehicle and got it done in no time..I really recommend this place!
Easy enough to make appointment online, but very difficult to get a hold of by phone. I was not satisfied with the quality of the repair and it was difficult to communicate with them. No one seemed interested in reviewing the repair job to see if it was done correctly, but just gave a scripted answer that had nothing to do with the problem I was trying to address. I had to go back to my insurance company to get it resolved.
Contacted my insurance due to my Windshield on my Dodge Ram had a rather large crack. Got an appointment. Had my Windshield replaced Exactly as it came, stock. I was very pleased. Thank You Safelite AutoGlass!!!
Reading through past reviews, Im wondering if the thanks for the feedback, customer feedback is always our goal is just corporate double-speak. In order to disprove that, you might consider making specific responses to concerns, and also start actually making changes.I made an appointment to get my shattered window glass repaired at home. The repair guy showed up and noticed the replacement glass he had brought with him was scratched. He also confided the job would be better done in the shop. Why wasnt I told this originally? When I went to the shop, I arrived 20 minutes late. I knew I would be late, so I tried calling ahead. As others have noted, its basically impossible to reach someone live. When I arrived, the manager refused to budge on fitting me in, even though he confided that the team member assigned to my window had kept himself busy with another project.
The technician was friendly, showed up on time, completed the work quickly and explained everything very well. He noticed a small scratch on the new windshield when he unloaded it from the van and said he could come back another day with a new one or he could provide me with a discount if I was ok with having him install the one he had. I am very happy I was given the option, as the scratch is minimal and on the edge of the windshield, so I saved a good bit of money (about $100) for something that really doesnt matter and is hardly noticeable. Very happy with the quality of the work completed and the overall service.
Set up small crack repair through Geico, made an appointment for a day I would be in the area. Employees were friendly, bathroom was well kept, the repair was done well and I can barely tell where the crack was in the first place a couple weeks later, a seamless experience overall. Id definitely go back there for future auto glass repairs.
They were phenomenal and extremely fast. I thought I would be there for at least 1.5-2 hrs (because that’s what my insurance said). I was out in less than 40 minutes. I highly recommend them!!!!!
Prompt professional service in a clean, convenient shop with friendly knowledgeable staff.... AND, completed ahead of schedule! Did a terrific job on my Porsche 911 Carrera S; and, less expensive than going to a dealership. Thanks, guys!
The guy was very good at taking care of our windshield and very professionally. Thank you
Fast service treat you in a very professional way
I scheduled my workday to be at home around the appointment I had set with Safelight. I was home and waiting and 1/2 hour past the start of the 2 hour time slot they gave me, I got a phone call telling me the technician couldnt find the apartment and has left. He had a full address and couldnt find the apartment?? He called me but I was on the phone with a client and by the time I got off the phone, hed already left and wasnt willing to turn around and come back! Inexcusable.
Great service
Avoid them if possible.I had an in shop appointment for which I had to leave my work to make as they are very inflexible on timing.....Safelite then had the wrong glass ordered and colud not perform the repair. They told me this after the car was in the shop for 4 hours...wasting my entire day. They then tried to appease me by scheduling a mobile visit ...i.e. coming to my home...which iintially i was lied to and told they could NOT do......They came and installed the glass on time.....the problem is the galss was DEFECTIVE and had a warp in it making visibility compromised.....I then called in to reschedule and they lied further about the mobile service and eventually scheduled me for a mobile eplacement 5 WEEKS later.....of which I now have to wait.STAY AWAY....this is for a 2015 Porsche Macantheir response to my review is meaningless when someone has to drive their car for 5 weeks with a defective windshield they install;ed. My approach when I get something wrong...i do my best to address the issue immediately....Safelite pitches the importance of safety and the windshield glass being a big component.....yet, faulty glass and a 5 week wait for a warranty replacement does not instill this feeling
Outstanding people work there.
My experience with Satellite initially could have been better, mostly due to a misunderstanding. However, this morning the repair specialist, Steve Johanson called in advance, was prompt and very personable. He was easy going and explained what had happened to our Honda CRV window. To my relief it was not damaged as I had thought. Thanks Steve, for your professional and courteous customer service. Would recommend Satellite to friends and family.
My best advise is USE ANOTHER COMPANY.When I called to make an appointment they told me that it would take a week to get the glass for my quarter panel.A day later, a technician called and said that they were having trouble finding the glass, but the would call to update me on the search.Getting nervous the day of my appointment, I called the the San Rafael California location and was on hold for over 30 minutes before I called a different number. The other number got me to a customer service agent who was very pleasant and confirmed my appointment and put me on hold to call over to the shop to check if the glass was there for my 3:00 PM appointment. I assume she was having the same difficulty getting a live person at the shop -- I was on hold with her for over 20 minutes and she would occasionally pop back on the line and apologize for the wait. In the end she said she was not able to talk to anyone, but that someone would call me before the appointment to confirm.I got the call a little after noon and was excited to hear that they had the glass for my appointment.I drove from San Francisco to San Rafael (~30 miles) only to be told that they did not have the glass.I told them that my round trip is 60 miles plus an $8 bridge toll...to which they said thats too bad, sorry.
Had my cracked windshield replaced, no issues
Seriously. Got another service to do work today, in 1 day, after waiting several weeks and ~$100 cheaper. Thank you for choosing Safelite AutoGlass®. This email serves as confirmation that an appointment has been scheduled and confirmed to service your vehicle...a part that has limited availability. We have scheduled an appointment for you today, but Safelite may call to reschedule if additional time is required or if the cost to acquire the part is higher than what we previously estimated. Service Date: Friday Feb 17 1:00 PM
Terrible customer service. Corporate run around, slow to get glass in. Few and far between appointments. Cant talk directly to the shop working on it. Go someplace else you will be much happier
They screwed up my appointment twice. It took over 2 weeks to reschedule. The first time they tried to charge me over $1200 for a windshield. On their website it showed $600. I will NEVER use safelite again.
I used them a week ago to full a chip caused by a rock a truck threw on my windshield. The reps were fast and super nice!
Professional staff. They got me in the next day and fixed my window quickly
Service was excellent and fast. A good group of technicians work there
Called my insurance and Geico to double check if they have my windshield in stock. They told me yes. Even got a confirmation call and emails from them the day before. Safelite even called me to confirm my appointment. I take time off of work to get it replaced and when I show up the guy says they dont have the windshield in stock and needs to order it. Kicker is the part is on backorder and they had no idea when the part would be available. Huge waste of time and effort. This is huge negligence on Geico and Safelite. Did not continue business with them and am changing insurance as soon as I can. Does not deserve my business, went to another place in Oakland that was able to deliver and change my windshield ahead of schedule.
My technician was Mario Hold. He was punctual, professional, able, courteous and made an extra effort to clean up broken glass really well.Scheduling was easy.
Very friendly staff. Free drinks, coffee, and snacks while you wait. Walk west on Louise to the Roastery if you want a real cup of coffee. Windsheild replacement took about 1.5 hrs.
Expensive junk. Leak on installed windshield, floor wet. Run away
Great Service and Did an excellent job. I was surprised
I wish they had told me before I made the appointment that I would need to make a second appointment with BMW to reprogram the software.
Professional and got me in the next day at short notice.
Safelite replaced my broken windshield in West Palm Beach, FL in March 2016 for 249.00. Broke again on the way to San Francisco area for business July 2016, this Safelite dealer quoted me 481.76. Durans Auto Glass installed a new windshield at my hotel for 249.00.
Super helpful and really kind!
Bad customer services. Never going there again.
Quick efficient eay
Took three appointments across two weeks to actually get the glass installed.
Way overpriced and incompetent service!! Over double the price of their competition. Additionally, they ordered the wrong windshield for my SUV and I had to come back a second time. I called their competition and had service in my driveway within two hours for less than half the money.
No replacement When I get there by appointment. One more week delayed. Never receiving my call. I hope next appointment.
POOR SERVICE. POOR INSTALLATION. They installed new windshield. When it rained water was leaking!
Great service
Very poor service
Professional.
