I own a Neve 1272 pre amp that was in bad shape. From the time that I took the preamp into CAE Sound Peter The technician was in communication with me. The young man Zohar at the front desk was also very helpful. Peter‘s expertise and familiarity with class A gear resurrected my Neve 1272 pre amp! It now works and sounds pristine thanks to CAE Sound! If you have important gear that needs repair CAE sound is the place to get it taken care of.

Finally found the BEST shop to repair my Kawaii ES4. And it was an easy experience from start to finish. I am so happy to have my keyboard back working and maybe a little better than before. No Question, I would return here and refer people to this amazing shop. No hesitation, he is the BEST!

So I blew my Alesis Micron up by using to hot a power source. I called Peter and he hadnt known about the synth that I wanted to get fixed but he explained his services and told me to bring it by so that he could look at it.Peter is very personable and he is very knowledgeable... A lot of experience! We talked about the scenario... He basically figured it out just by me telling him what I did. I left the synth with him and then he got back to me the next day explaining that he had opened it up and diagnosed the problem.Mean while... Peter is working all by himself in his shop and is super busy! Told me that he wouldnt be able to get to my synthesizer for a while... three days later he emails me and tells me its all fixed!!! Praise the Santa Maria! All in all, very awesome experience. Even with how busy he was he fixed my synth in a short amount of time, his pricing is fair, and I would with no doubt take my electronics to him to have them worked on.Thanks Peter!

Peter is the man. Reasonably priced and super knowledgeable. (Also used to tech for The Grateful Dead - famous for high standards and innovation in audio.) He troubleshot and fixed a Rhodes pre-amp for me that had more than one issue, and went the extra mile to clean the board and make some extra much appreciated tweaks. Um, after I screwed it up worse trying to fix myself:) Thanks, Peter!

Peter and his crew are stellar individuals. They take the time to listen to your concerns and address everything. I have a very rare and valueable amplifier that had a very strange problem which no other shop or specialist was confident enough to work on; however, Peter and his staff found the problem once they dug into it. The shop can get quite busy, as this workload reflects the quality of the work. I highly recommend you come to CAE sound first before giving your electronic equipment to anyone else for service or modifications. You wont be disappointed!! Thanks guys!!!

I have a Roland A-30 MIDI Keyboard Controller which I purchased back in 1996.It has served me well for many years. Around mid-2015, some of the individual keys failed to function properly. CAE-Sound analyzed/repaired the problem handily... (dirty contacts for various problematic keys, due to years of usage, etc.) A thorough cleaning of the contacts for all the keys comprising this keyboard, completely resurrected its performance.CAE-Sound did it again for me today. My keyboard is heading into its 25th year of service with me. I have complete faith in their assessment/repair capabilities re:keyboards.

Peter is a master technician. He fixed my 14 year old Kurzweil synth and it took some persistence. He does get busy so don’t expect quick turnaround, but it will be positive in the end.

I discovered CAE sound over 10 years ago – when I was looking to have repair work done on an ARP 2600. I was surprised to find a place on the mid-peninsula that did repair work on vintage synthesizers and keyboards. Once I finally met Peter in his shop, I realized his expertise extended deep into other electronics – vintage organs, amplifiers, even Leslie cabinets, and much more.Since then, Peter has also serviced my ailing vintage Moogs and Korgs. Not only does he fix the problems, he often finds other trouble spots that could develop into problems. He’s usually quite busy, so the repair queue can be long, but the wait is worth it (since I’m never immediately dependent on my older gear). But a long queue reflects how much in demand he is. His working knowledge of electronics is quite impressive, and he is quite resourceful at finding replacement parts. He also repairs MIDI generation keyboards, even early ones, so he has computers running multiple older operating systems in order to communicate with them.Peter has been doing this sort of troubleshooting and repair for a long time. He’s a master craftsman, and those are getting harder to find. He’s great to talk to in person. If you get him on the phone, be aware there may be a couple other customers in his shop so he may not have time to chat, as he’s literally a one-man operation.Whenever I have any insurmountable issues with my gear, Peter & CAE Sound are my first destination!

Called to find out about repairing a broken key on a Casio Privia keyboard. I was told to bring it in and it would cost $125 minimum to inspect it. If you really are a professional you should be able to give an estimate of this procedure on the phone. I was very disappointed at your customer relations attitude.

Long story short, the tech is blatantly unprofessional and not ashamed to double-dip (collect warranty repair payment from the manufacturer & take extra money from the customer).***Last year, I was in my house switching the impedance on my Peavey Valveking head to use with a different cabinet when the switch broke. CAE is the nearest Peavey service center, so I brought my Peavey head there. I showed my receipt proving Im the original owner with 18 months left on the warranty, & explained that the switch broke while I was using the amp head in my house.A week later, I get a call from CAE telling me that my warranty claim had been rejected but CAE would do the repair for $65. I had to go over CAEs head to talk with a supervisor at Peavey customer service to get my claim approved - and then I got another call back from CAE asking me for an extra $35 to do the repair on top of Peaveys reimbursement to the service center. (I talked the tech down to $20).The tech said all of the following to me over the phone, and I wrote it down at the time:Customer service tells us one thing, and then the customer goes crying to another department to tell us something else and now the whole situation is all messed up.This is clearly breakage, probably from transportation.[After I pointed out that my original documentation clearly stated that I purchased in store & kept the amp head in my room ever since]: Well, I dont want to start an argument, but thats not how warranties work. Youre lucky you got anything at all, but it puts us in a bit of a tight spot.It was very frustrating to see the tech advocate against his own customer, especially in such an entitled & abrasive manner. Demanding extra payment on top of the warranty rate is totally inappropriate, too - nobody is forcing you to be a Peavey service center. If you dont want to accept Peaveys rates, then ask Peavey to stop listing you as one of their repair centers.

These guys are very good. They warn you up front that its first come first serve - and you can move your place in line up more and increase the priority for more money, but beyond that, they arent known for real quick turnaround but they do a good job.A year ago I bought a used Line 6 Flextone III amp that was having volume issues. The volume would cut out or distort and crackle. CAE did a great job servicing it and making sure the software (its a modeling amp) was up to date. Since Ive had it back Ive had zero trouble with the unit. It took me 2 weeks to get it back and I had to use my practice amp on my first gig with this band because I couldnt get the Flextone back in time but as far as Im concerned, it was worth it.Im taking my Line 6 DT50 in now for a recalled power supply issue (got an email from line 6 that this needs to be done) and Im replacing the tubes at the same time. They do very good work, and they are very sure of themselves which you want in your repair guy. I have to drive out 40 minutes from Pleasanton to San Mateo but they are worth it.
