The sales personnel are helpful, but not pushy like most of the bike shops around here. The service department has always been very helpful, and quick on getting me parts, and charge a fair price for them. This is how a motorcycle shop should be...
I had a bad experience with an old timer sales person at this shop last summer (low social skills, high pressure, when I was just trying to learn about bikes before I bought my first bike ever). Ended up buying from Fremont instead because of that. So I was nervous about coming back to San Mateo to get my bike serviced.Turns out they have new management, a new service crew, and holy cow, an awesome new attitude! What a difference new management makes! I dropped in for my first routine service, they tightened my chain, and they were completely happy to let me watch and educate me on what they were doing (I dont know too much about bikes). They even cleaned it for me and it looks like new!Glad to have a customer-focused owner back on the peninsula!
This place is closed and John retired in 2014. They were originally talking of relocating. Is it gone for good?
