Do not shop here if youre interested in a quick transaction. Twice now weve gone here and have had to wait at least 30 minutes. Once for a purchase and once for a return. I can appreciate that returns may be more complicated, but you shouldnt be sending your customers off to retrieve items to validate the return. That just holds up everyone else. They need to redesign their return area and staff more competent managers.
I dont know why the rating is low. From my own experience, theres a large collection of different toys and prices are good. Aisles are clean. Deduct 1 point for some of the parents and kids behaviors, as they toss toys around after playing, making the staff a very hard time to re-shelve.
Decent selection of toys! The prices are good and sometime there are good sales. Its a pretty big store so if you are taking the kiddies it may take a few hours :)
60% of the store has empty shelves. Open packages and the stuff no one wants is practically left. You can go and find a cheap gift if you can. Good luck!
They have Clairs small store inside Toys r us but you cannot return any Clairs item bought else where. In general store is pretty decent and have tons of choices to select from. Good star war collection.
The first time I went there I was amazed of how big the store was. Had a problem at checkout. Dont remember so I went there again thinking why didnt I return to the store again? Well at checkout i was reminded of why. I was approaching a teen behind the register. I asked him where to checkout and he pointed to a register at the far end of the store. Went there. The cashier was helping a costumer. The line started to grow behind me. There was a manager doing their cashier performance thing behind the counter . When she finish with the costumer they just started to chat behind the register ignoring all the costumers on line. Then she just removed her name badge and said I am off. All in front of her manager or whatever she was. Then she says. you can checkout at costumer service. I turn around and realized she was pointing at the teen that earlier refuse to helpme. At this point I was very frustrated and didnt want to ever return due to the bad costumer service. AND thats when I remembered that the first time had been a bad experience as well. UPDATE I’m not surprised they went out of business
The customer service is superb and the employees know their product. If you have any questions, the employees will answer adequately. Thank you.
This store NO customer service at all or Associate not got train enough. i called in the morning ask to hold item, the lady answer me dadadadadadadad said dont have it in store then said okay! then hang up the phone. if you feel this is appropriate then you can come to this store. for myself i would not recommand any one to come here.
Almost empty, there seems to be a ton of only a few toys left and same with baby outfits. What a waste of a store closing, this is something we all needed to stay open. Helpful staff but theyre all sad to go.
Probably the only Toys R Us store around the peninsula area. It has a large selection of nearly everything they offer online except that you get to touch it. Depends on the day you go it can be really crowded with kids. Its a toy kid heaven.
Pluses: Huge store is half babies-r-us / Half toys-r-us, big Lego and videogame/media sections, laid out well. has pretty much everything you could order online. Cons: Pushy upsells and wouldnt let me try out the high-priced scooter I was buying (they did show it to me, though, so OK)
Toys were scattered about and signs said one percentage and when you went up the aisles it was a lower percentage. Just wait for the liquidators if you want a deal. Target and amazon still cheaper than the discounts they were offering.
Good deals during GooB sale. Limited inventory with no restocking. Stopped taking theor own gift cards.
These yahoos DO NOT PICK UP PHONE CALLS!!!! If you can, go to the Colma or Redwood City store. The service there is so much better. Representatives are friendly and helpful.
Best place but could more services people for we ask about products in the store.
Thank you very much for Ur employee Retaliation. Ive won my case with EEOC and I am waiting for your response to the Charge.Your open invitation to mediate NOWthe case in San Francisco Federal Courts.DO NOT SHOP AT ANY TOYS R US BC I WANT TO ENSURE THEY REALLY GO BANKRUPT.. oops they already did! ahahahah
There was some alright deals on clothes but honestly you could find some better prices if you shop around when other stores have sales. Little selection, would be ok if only they actually had team members organizing the place. Most items are here and there. Couldnt find the prices on toys, they werent on their designated shelf space so who knows what the price is..?? There was one pants of a 4-pc set, i thought maybe they could do a price adjust or something to sell it, you know since theyre going out of business. Nope. The pants would be sold and priced as if its the whole set. No thank you. Maybe a good deal if you really want to look and search, otherwise you may be stuck looking for something just to not find what youd like
No matter, they are out of business. But good toys
Ve got a letter for RIGHT TO SUE, COMING SOON, ASHLEIGH YOURS TRULY
Was the best kids toyland ..my girls will miss forever
My name is jeff and I like pigs. Toys r us has the biggest pig sales and now they have girraffs. I love toys r us.and pigs 🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖
Stores goin outta business sooo go get toys on big discounts
Great collection of toys, bikes, skateboards, infant stuff etc. Sad that its closing! :(
I dislike this BRU so much. Their customer service is non existent at the front desk. Phone calls are more important than a live physical customer in front of them.Id purchased an item that was obviously a prior return, torn packaging had been taped. It was the only one left. When I got home I realized it was missing the clips necessary for the product to work. I went in to return it and made sure to tell them this item was missing the most important parts. The associate didnt offer to order me a new one. She just returned my money. On my next visit, I decided to check if theyd gotten any more in...and there was the same item I had returned before with no note or discount on it. Posing as a new product.Another example, I tried to buy my son a step stool. BRU has several on display, but theyre all filthy from being used (maybe the employees?). After a couple of months of never seeing any new products show up on their shelves I decided to buy one and see if I could get a discount. Nope. The sales lady told me I would need to go home and scrub it myself. When I argued that I wasnt going to pay full price for an item I had to fix she shrugged her shoulders and didnt offer any other solutions. So I didnt buy it. and there it still sits, filthy, on their shelves.I use BRUs diaper boosters. Theyre great. I guess Im the only one who uses them b/c theyve been out of them for about 5 weeks. I decided to ask a clerk to help me. She looks it up and says they dont have any and its a shipping problem. Frustrated b/c this is a very needed product I go online and order them. They arrive 2 days later!!! So why cant the store get them in?!?!Moral of the story, if you need multiples of something, buy all of them b/c theyll likely never order anymore (I still havent seen the first product replaced on their shelve and that was about 6 months ago). If its damaged or missing, forget it. Youre out of luck.
Good store, but likely facing challenges (vs online) these days.
An actual greeting by an employee when i entered the store. The most clean and organized toys/bbs r us that ive been too. Its too bad their video game selection is shiet.
Clean, pretty well organized and a HUGE lego selection! Yay!
Horrible customer service! There is only one lady that actually knows what shes doing and is friendly. Even the workers will tell you that nobody knows what theyre doing. I only come here when I know I for sure am not going to return something. Its like five minutes away from my house, but Id rather drive to Redwood City than come here.
Great store sad to see them close
The most complete place to buy toys
I dont want to grow up. I want to stay a toys r us kid
I dont wanna grow up, Im a toysrus kid... Goodbye toys r us...they are officially closed.
Such a shame. They declared Chapter 13 and are going out of business.
This place was in a mess when I was there. Empty shelves and hardly any range of toys. This could be because they were closing permanently.
The employees are extremely slow and not helpful at all. Not sure if they hand out free weed prior to the beginning of shift, but they physically cannot operate at a slower pace.
Its going out of business. If you are reading this, the physical location is probably something else.
I didnt like how this store was not organized like the others.
I had a good time and am going today
Great place, currently going out of business. Was 20-40% off.
The best in San Mateo County needs 5 stars
Memories, going to miss the place.
Sad to see you go in going there for over 50 years
Fir some reason there was a need for 3 people to help 1 customer at the only open register. Decided to leave merchandise because it was taking way too long....
We will miss you
Store is clean and full of supplies. Lines are long and slow and staff are usually not helpful in finding what you need.
Sad to see them closing..
Sale! That stores closing now
The place was just liquidating assets.
They will be missed:-(
Nothing special, typical TRU
Fun toys
Employees did not seem to know what was going on. Told that a product will be out the next day. Went there and they said they dont know.
They dont honor their warranty
So sad, it is close forever
Cute toys
Dead. Store is closed.
Standard ToysRUs.
Not bad
Expensive but what you would expect

Toys everywhere.
There is a relatively wide selection of Toys R Us in the Bay Area and they are kind. Convenient in the shopping area.
Very good shots but it was practically empty
Very good
I like it
