The employees here literally changed my life.For over a year, I had been walking around on severe plantar fasciitis. So painful I have cried on occasion. I have seen doctors, tried exercises, slept in a weird stretchy boot, nothing helped much. I have bought 5 different pairs of shoes and wasted hundreds on orthotics. I walked in to Footwear Etc. and two gentlemen patiently helped me swap out multiple shoes and orthotics until we found just the right combo. A couple of months later, my foot pain has decreased by about 80%. I cannot express how much this has improved my daily life. I am grateful every day.Thank you to the gentlemen working here who really care and take time to help their customers. This store is such a gem. Also I love your selection of shoes, orthotics, and fun socks!

They actually have a scanner and will fit you with the perfect set of orthotics for your posture, I recommend them to everyone.Im a Chiropractor and I love how knowledgeable every staff member is about the products. Knowledgeable staff, excellent customer service, rare and kind staff!For my bad knee, doctor has recommended I get Hoka for better support so I went to Footwear etc to check them out. They were surprisingly busy Wednesday afternoon; there were at least 6 parties of customers and just 2 sales staff. I asked one of them, Casey, for his opinion of which style would fit my needs best, and he said its Bondi. Despite how busy they were he brought me 4 different styles for me to try, and sure enough Bondi was the best choice. However, the last pair of it in my size was the wrong width for me. If I had agreed that they send the right size to my house, which would take longer than if I just pick them up from San Carlos, he would have got the credit, but he insisted I should go this route so I can get them sooner. Bless Caseys heart for caring for the best for the customer rather than his own commission!

Great selection and knowledgeable staff. I was given a foot assessment using their foot scanner and learned that I have flat feet. Kasey helped me try on several orthotics until I found ones that gave me the right amount of support and comfort. I would highly recommend this store and Kasey to anyone who is looking to give some love to one of our hardest working body parts - our feet!

I went today looking for a pair of shoes to better support my feet and help with plantar fasciitis pain. I have always been pleased with the customer service at this store, but todays clerk was outstanding. His name is Casey and he was knowledgeable, courteous, personable, patient and offered great suggestions. I ended up buying a pair of Mobils Ergonomic shoes and separate insoles. Time will tell how they work, but for today my feet are happy!!!!!

Shopped in person at the San Mateo location on 4th Avenue. Appropriate Covid precautions. Lots of choices of athletic shoes in my size. This is my go to place for shoes. Highly recommend

I seriously love this place. Great choice, really good shoes. I managed to find genuine leather, flat shoes which perfectly fit my feet. They didn’t have my size, but the girl who was helping me ordered them (and they arrived a day early). Usually I need some time to get adjusted to new shoes, but I just put on these ones and I’m just wearing them, they feel like slippers though actually they are nice dress shoes.The sales girls was the most helpful sales person ever. I mean - really helpful, not just “here is your size, let me know if you need anything”. Next time I need shoes I’ll go there.

Walked into the store was greeted by a gentleman walked around the store for almost 30 minutes to find some shoes in there clearance section. Found a great shoe at a great price ready to check out to be told that the price was triple the cost of what the clearance price was . Asked the sales associate what they were priced what they were and she tells me “ I can’t sell these to you at that price are you kidding as she proceeds to laugh “I then told her that’s what they were marked when I picked them up she proceeds to tell me that she will not honor the tag price . I tell her thank you I will not be doing business here . Terrible customer service ! It is there responsibility to label their product correctly . Very disappointed.

Great location, easy parking street or lot, great selection, great service, staff knowledgeable in podiatric issues and solutions, the key being: solutions. A bit pricier than some consumers may be used to but that is for the shoe that is of the ultimate quality, comfort, durability and health. Shoes from many different countries, up to date styles and with foot/knee/back health in mind. Wonderful. They will take their time with you. I was there over 2 hours. My feet need time. They were happy to give it to me.

I knew this shop for a long time ago but this is the first time I bought shoes there. The first impression I got is not bad. Will wait and see if the product they are selling is worth the price.

I had a great experience with Aaron, who took the time to thoroughly discuss my foot problems and helped me pick out just the right pair of Birkenstocks, as well as an orthotic for some of my other shoes. He was patient, knowledgeable, and educated about foot issues, I am a runner and a hiker and I value comfort as well as good looks in shoes, and I will be returning to this store. This level of customer service in a shoe store is something I thought was a lost art. He checked my shoe size--that hasnt happened in ages! Thanks, Aaron! Youre a star!

Athletic, walking and speciality size footwear for men and women. If you have very narrow or wide feet, this is the place to shop. Footwear, etc. carries the brands and wide range of widths, sizes and attractive (it is possible) orthopedic types that department stores do not carry anymore in store.The sales staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the shoe brands that the store carries. The shoes costs a lot more than Macys for example, but you are paying for great customer service, footwear expertise and larger selection and variety.

Ive bought all my shoes here since discovering this store- from boots to sandals to everyday. Think Merrell, Aetrex, Keen, uggs. Cute, fashionable, but focused on comfort and support for wearing all day.

Workers are nice but not much of a selection for youth.
