By far and away, the employees at this location are helpful, patient and so kind!I had an issue with an online order being delivered but the package was stolen. I called this store to let them know in case the thief tried to return it for cash.I first spoke to an associate named Stephanie. She was extremely patient with me; I felt she genuinely wanted to help and did what whatever she could to help.After gathering some information, she transferred me to her manager, Mrs. Rachel Chain. Let me tell you, I have never been helped by a more understanding and compassionate manager.These team members took the time to let me know exactly what I needed to do to fix this instead of pass the buck or say, too bad.This store and its employees want you to be satisfied with your JCP experience and went above and beyond to help me in this predicament. A million thank yous to Stephanie and Rachel!

Very clean and bright. Many brands for women and a few for men. Household section is quaint. There is large clearance section for clothing. A professional photography studio and a salon is located towards the back of the store, as well as the restrooms. Sephoras Boutique is also inside the store.

I found what I needed and at a 25% discount due to Labor Day holiday its holiday sales.

Always an adventure when I shop JC Penney. I find great deals everytime.

JCPenneys isnt what it use to be...the selection is lacking and over priced. Even the clearance prices arent worth it. The store is very bare but otherwise organized.

Rude. Got to the store at 5:52. It’s nice to be greeted with someone opening the door yelling we close in 7 minutes. Don’t worry. We won’t be back. Seems like the people would be nicer with JC Penney stores closing all over the country.

Summer 2018, I purchased three pairs of the womens mix-it flip flops (different colors). The flip flops had great cushion and matched most summer outfits. Summer 2019, I bought another three pairs of the same shoes and the soles were much thinner in the front ball / toe section. Very uncomfortable- wore out fast. Will be watching for brand quality before I buy my favorites again.

Photo studio is spectacular. Shopping was a blast, great selection and prices.

Neat for the most part. The clearance sections were large but hard to find what I was looking for because the sizes are all over the place. XS in with XL ladies and the next hanger had size 10 little girls. The other areas were very well organized and most things were on sale. Overall very nice .

I only shop here if I cant find what I need anywhere else. This company closed my credit account after 10 years of perfect payments because I took a new job and experiencd a pay cut. What a horrible way to treat responsible customers. I was at the register to make a purchase when they informed me of their decision.

I went to look for a couple of shirts and some Levis because Levis are apparently more scarce than I thought. They had what I needed and someone helped me as well which was nice. Only issue was the air conditioning was nonexistent. I guess they are slow and are saving money but they need to maybe turn it down a little more. Otherwise it was decent visit.

I ordered Jeans on line and picked up in store. buy one get one but the ad was very misleading. Ended up getting 2 instead of 4. Never would have paid the price if it had been more clear.

Great sales going on. I just wish the sections were clearly labeled. Wandered around the store looking for kids clothes. Clothes were usually nicely in order and easy to find a shirt in the size you needed.

I am not much of a clothes shopper, but my wife live this place. She always finds great deals. Save money.The bathrooms were out of soap, but were clean. The cashiers are friendly and helpful.

Wife and I went shopping today and she saved over $40 off of the marked prices on all of her items. She was very pleased with the quality of the items and the selection was very good for what she was shopping for: Avengers related wear t-shirts. She picked out several that neither of us had see elsewhere and off we went. The staff checking us out was very friendly and assured my wife received every discount applible and pointed out the info on the receipt that would allow her to receive 10% off on her next visit.

Its a lovely store but short on staff, and the person we finally found was not very helpful.

A good shopping experience and a good price on items I was looking for

People are great and very helpful to customers. BUT they could step up their cleaning game. Everytime I have gone there the mens suit area if just wrecked. Ties all over the floor. Shoes not put away. And the amount of trash scattered across the floor and associates just walking by.

Clean store, helpful staff, decent selection. Even though we arrived at the last minute we were fully helped and every question was answered.

Sent a ring to be sized back in June and they said it would be ready July 4th weekend. I call to pick it up and they don’t even know where the ring is?? Not even the status of it or anything, basically they lost my ring.

Needed help finding items but no one around to help. Not very many little girl clothes for 3 year olds. (Call me old fashion but I dont like shopping on line because you cant try clothes on to see if they fit or not). I do like their under garment section.

Its a pity that stores like this one, closes, at least this what I have heard recently. They have a lot of choices in different kind of merchandise. Its sure that there should be much more to choose online, but there are things we like to see, try, feel, and JCPENNEY its one of the best for that.

My husband and I recently visited JC Penneys jewelry department on 1/24. We had already browsed a bit and approached the counter. We were standing at the jewelry counter waiting while two female employees were just chatting away right in front of us. Finally hubby raises his voice and was like, excuse me. Wed like to have our ring sizes measured. And they break conversation for like, 5 sec to grab the tools, set them on the counter, then continue talk about how, omg I havent made any sales today. This would be my first one all day.*sigh* Theres a reason youre not making sales. I recommend these employees pay more attention to their customers. Other than the jewelry department, we had a lovely and kind woman at the checkout counter. The three stars are for her.

This is for the salon. Requested only to get my hair blow dry and styled cost over 55.00. Total rip off!!

I found some really nice clothes and got a discount, but my visit was ruined when I was paying and my cashier didnt know what to do. Not really bad but the other woman helping my cashier talked to me like I was an idiot. She spoke to me slowly and talked loudly. No hard feelings though.

I’m not impressed by JCPenny. I went to this location and wow one pair of docker pants was $58. That’s freaking way over priced. Buy one get one at 40% off isn’t really a sale when the price is inflated almost 50%. Even the sale stuff looks like Goodwill stuff. I was NOT impressed. I went next door to Academy and bought a similar pair of pants for $25 and spent $150 in other things. If you don’t change your ways, your company will be like Sears!

Whats great about this store is not just the merchandise but this store has friendly staff who are visible and helpful.

Had a very bad experience with “supervisor Nick” he’s very unpleasant and unprofessional. He Has no customer service skills whatsoever. He will talk down to you in front of customers and roll his eyes. Never had such experience in a JC Penny’s before...spent over $300.00 was promised 15% discount from the cashier he came out yelling from the back that he would not honor it. What a supervisor they have, I wouldn’t waste a dollar on hiring him as an employee much less a supervisor.

I love this JCP location in San Marcos. Always clean, well stocked, and well staffed. I always find quality clothing for my whole family at reasonable prices. Housewares, and linens are high quality.JCPenney is the best value when shopping. With sale pricing and incentives you can buy 2xs what you could at Wal-Mart, and get high quality, instead of cheap garbage.

JCPenneys is having a great sale. You take half of what its already marked again. I bought 9 tops and two necklaces for $28.

Bought a diamond ring. Decided to return in it 2 days later. Manager could not credit my bank card because I had bought the extended warranty!! Had to wait over a week then come back. My card was credited in full. Buyer beware! This was not explained to me.

Its fine just really hard to find employees to help you. I did find one girl there that told me were to find the kids beach towels. And the tracked me down to show me another area to check for better priced ones. That was so nice to me. But one other bad thing was that check out is too long one register per 12 in line not good math. Im only happy to have the app because it makes things a bit easier to figure out prices and then it always has a coupon you can use. So if you go download the app as you can at least save money for your long wait.
