I left my vehicle at this business for about two hours so they could conduct a brake inspection, and when they called saying they finished the inspection, the manager told me one of their mechanics damaged my vehicles bumper. When I asked for them to pay for the damage, they refused, and said that the damage was my fault for parking so close to the curb stop. The manager on property refused to work with me on creating a solution, and denied me any helpful information.

Not bad for a small business. They offer alot of services including renting out uhaul trucks. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to do my oil change,tire rotation, 12 point inspection, and fluid top off. There was a man well beyond his prime doing the work which I was not comfortable with. But all the men were very nice. The place is kinda run down and dusty but couches are comfortable. My biggest issue was I bought a Groupon voucher that offered all services listed above for $69 but when I arrived I was told it would be and extra $31 because my car uses synthetic oil. its not the issue of the money. Its just I could have bought a synthetic package instead and still saved a little money. All in all I would recommend its very economicly friendly.

Had an alignment done 8/6/21 ... I took my vehicle home .. and notice a wierd sound like a something hitting on the bottom a raspy noise. .. come to find out they did not tighten my tires at all !!!! Only one bolt was tight beside that all my tires where loose . And I was driving like that on the freeway can you imagine if my tire would have fallen off while driving !! Major accident ..

Went in for a standard oil change and fluids top-off because I had bought a Groupon. I read the fine print very carefully and the Groupon said everything was included in the price of the Groupon except for small extra charges for cars with funky oil filters or needing special oil (of which my car does not).At the end of the service, I hand over the Groupon and am given a list of addition charges that I need to pay that arent covered in the Groupon. I explained that all of those charges should be included in the Groupon and anything that isnt covered is listed in the Groupon fine print from Brake Stop (none of these extra charges were listed). I was told that Brake Stop Corporate submits the wording to Groupon but that this shop always charges these extra fees. I asked to speak to a manager (none were on site) but they called someone up and the desk guy talked to him. When their phone call was complete, he said that he was mistaken and that his manager said that some of those charges shouldnt be there (Finally I thought, now I can get out of here). But then he started explaining that his manager said there was a whole different list of charges that do apply instead! The total was less than before but the point still remained that I ALREADY PAID FOR THE ENTIRE SERVICE THROUGH GROUPON! The desk guy could see I was getting upset with this price-gouging and bait-and-switch so he said hed do me a favor and knocked off a few of the charges. The EXTRA total came out to $7-8 dollars and so I just paid it at that point because they still had my keys and I just wanted to get out of there.Once I got to my car, I popped the hood to check on my fluid levels (which was part of the service). Wouldnt you know it, they hadnt done a thing with any of them. By this point, it was dark and late and I had somewhere else I needed to be and I didnt have the energy to go back and argue some more. So I took my car (and all of my future business) and left, never to return to a Brake Stop.

Maybe I should have known better, but my van failed the smog check because its monitors were not in a ready state. It had some repair work the day before at a different shop, which required the battery to be disconnected. Apparently, that caused the vans monitors to reset. It needed to be driven for a while in order for the monitors to collect enough data to be ready for the smog check.After some research on Google, I was able to drive it in a certain sequence which put the monitors in the ready state. I took it back, and the van passed the smog test.I had to pay twice for the test, even though the mechanic could had done a 15-second test in the van just by observing the lights on the dashboard to see if the monitors were ready. Why dont they do that every time before they start the test?

Updated review:Based on the conversation with the owner, it appeared to me that he genuinely wanted to make things right. Ill consider them again in the future and hopefully things might be better.Original review:Be aware of the prices they quote you before the job v/s what you actually pay. TERRIBLE!! I went in to get an alignment and brought my $ 29.99 coupon with me .first off I was told right away it will be more for truck or SUV which the coupon states in fine print .I expected that in the first place. I didnt expect it to cost almost 3 times the coupon amount. After showing I wouldnt be paying the first amount that he claimed it would be because of so much more labor for his technician to do. He bumped the price to the regular price of. $89.99. So this guy shouldve saved us both time and the embarrassment for me pulling a coupon out like some old grandma, he should have told me the coupons I brought were completely waste of paper and time for the printing company that prints all that junk mail . every service I asked him about he would say something different and cost more to actually do it. Mind you this place was a ghostown on a Tuesday at 4pm ...tumble weeds blowing by me. the only technician I saw was so busy sweeping the floor and the other one was most likely on FB,IG,Twitter. In the back office. My truck was only on the life like 15 min .and seemed to be out on a test drive for most of the time .when I watched them they werent turning any wrenches or anything. I took it in for major drift to the right and the owner showed me it was fixed corrected on paper but he said it will still drift to the because my tires need to be replaced with brand new tires. Guess he wasnt really watching me when I pulled out the coupons .I cant afford new tires .the worst part is I matched up the tires with same size and tread etc.in front .and it drifted the same if not worse. I called almost right away and he insisted I get new tires and when I do he wont charge me for alignment.The way the owner talked and explained things just seem like he was talking out of his ass and pretty sure he saw that I was need of tires and could get away with not actually doing the alignment how its supposed to be done . cant wait for more ex cuses when I show with 2 new tires in the front next month and he will most likely tell me its too late too much time has gone by .pay another $90. Nothing worse than paying for something and feeling it was not even done or not done right .the night before my tire blew our on the freeway because of the alignment wearing the tire down so bad .and the drift was never fixed .I have one star because I cant give zero.

They left oil all over my vehicle. The smell was terrible. To top it off they told me I needed repair that equal out over $600. When I declined to accept they finished my car to leave it with oil everywhere. Even places oil shouldn’t leak from. Horrible professionalism, dishonest staff. They do terrible maintenance to the vehicles. I’d like to be compensated for the oil change as well as what it took to have another shot look over and clean their mess! I have pictures and videos showing the terrible condition break stop repairs left my vehicle in.

If I could give this place a -0 I would!!!!! I’ve never written a review in my life until now!! The guy at the front (manager supposedly) is the worst manager in the world! I communicated on the phone exactly what I wanted with the coupon for my breaks and after the inspection he said I couldn’t use the deal because my Scion tC didn’t take ORGANIC BREAKS!!!!!!!!! He said the deal was only for organic breaks!!! He should of communicated that in the beginning. He quoted me at $500 when it was supposed to be $150. I actually paid the $70 service fee because I didn’t want to give them my business!!!! DON’T COME HERE IS YOU WANT THE TRUTH AND GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! A “GOOD MANAGER” would have honored the deal not argued back at you.

I am not usually one of those people that complains when they have a bad experience however in this particular situation I feel that I must share our experience with the manager of this place. My girlfriend brought her car in to this place with a coupon for her breaks. We double checked that we could use this coupon before having them do there mandatory 70$ inspection fee (only charged if we don’t have something fixed). The manger said it would be perfectly fine he quoted us a repair of 119$. Then an hour later we get a call from him saying that her “car requires different breaks and her rotors need to be replaced” (the rotors are a year old and do not need to be replaced we double checked with two other mechanic shops) the manger then told us that we had to pay 500$ for 4 breaks and 4 rotors and he would not honor the coupon for the breaks we needed because the coupon did not cover her breaks (the coupon does not say it only covers certain breaks) after we fought long and hard with the manager about how he should of told us before that the coupon would not work for her car we decided to pay the 70$ inspection fee and not give our business to a shady company. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS BAD ! After we got her car back there was a “mysterious” NEW DENT IN HER CAR!!!! Do not go here they have zero customer service and will try to cheat you and if you disagree with them they will hurt your car!!!

Stopped in on 2/2/2020 to have lights and brakes checked. Stood in lobby for 15 minutes and no help. I walked around to the garage area and asked mechanic about inspecting my breaks and lights. He quips back at me we dont do brake or light inspections, I then ask you do fix brakes here?... the mechanic replies yes, need your brakes fixedI then shook my head and explained that I might after brake inspection that I will have to get done somewhere else becuase his attitude lost my business.

They smogged my car and checked it for engine codes . It was fast and easy and very affordable.Great Service. Javier was awesome.

I finally donated my car to the vets After brake stop ruined it.I hope they have better luck than me. Timing chain, clutch and intake manifold Now I cant smog.3 months it took than as I got rental cars it wasnt worth the 3 grand on 2001 mustang besides the rental car.

Had a smog check. Pricing was competitive with coupon. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars because I called and made an appointment the day before. However my car wasn’t even pulled in for 45 minutes until after I arrived. I needed the smog so I waited but I was disappointed that someone confirmed an appointment and essentially it was really just first come, first served. I would have brought something to read or do if I would have known I would be there an hour for a smog check.

.Today I had a very bad experience with Brake Stop. I got a Wheel Alignment 2 weeks ago and when I got on the Freeway it was horrible so I called Brake Stop to let them know that the Wheel Alignment was horrible and we made an appointment for May 29 @9:00. I paid 69.00 dollars for a Wheel Alignment so I thought they were going to do it over and make me happy, but that didnt happen. He had me sign a work order that said $128.00 for a diagnostic test which I did not need so I told him I didnt want the diagnostic test just redo the Wheel Alignment so they put my car on the rack not even for a minute and brought me my keys and I said did you fix it and he said no and I told him this was bad business. I have had my oil changes, Wheel Alignment and tires there I will not be going back there, poor business. There grade is F-. Very poor business when you dont try to make the customer happy

Javier had taken care of me well for my past several oil changes however, I dont think I will be returning. My husband went in to fix a couple small items on a 2007 Rav4. He needed a new seal on his front window and to fix a track on his glove compartment. We ended up paying $360. He was told he would be charged $128 to check out the car and its alignment. They ran the test but did not do the alignment because we need to fix another item on the car. He charged an extra $80 for running the alignment test even though they were not able to perform the actual alignment. I am very saddened by this experience because my husband feels like he was over charged and taken advantage of. He called our local Toyota dealer and they said they would have fixed the car for $200.

Do not go to this place. They are scammers. They lied to my face and scammed me. They are trying to keep my car and scam me out of my title. Super unprofessional. Save your car and you money and dont let these people ever have your keys. Police are now trying to get my car from them. Save yourself the headache. Not to mention they didnt even work on it. I dont know if these people are on drugs or straight up hungry for money. They looked at my hose, took my keys and wont give me my car till they fix something I didnt agree to.

I posted on yelp but I want to reiterate here. This was the most honest and helpful autoshop Ive ever visited. My brakes went out on the highway and I had to get them repaired despite being very low on money. They didnt try to up sell me, they gave me a lower price then I could have hoped for, and when the repair took overnight (through no fault of thiers)they even gave me a price brake to cover the hotel I had to pay for. Wonderful service and people.

Went into Brake Stop (San Marcos) today for oil change for 2010 Kia Forte. I was given an estimate of $26.15. This included $10.00/oil, $4.99/oil filter, $5.00/labor, $5.00/Hazmat Fee, $1.16/tax. I gave them a $7 OFF Brake Stop coupon. Oil change took less than 30 minutes.The final bill was $25.18. This included $10.00/oil, $4.09/oil filter, $5.00/labor, $5.00/Hazmat Fee, $1.09/tax. I asked them what about my $7.00 OFF Brake Stop coupon I gave you. He acknowledged that he received the coupon, but the Hazmat & taxes took most of it. The coupon was not even listed on the invoice. My bill should have been about $18.18. I was satisfied with the oil change, but not their math.

I got my 06 Altima serviced here and the guys were very professional. Javier explained everything in detail and I was told to come back at 2:00 to pick it up and to my surprise it was in the parking lot all finished!

Purchased Tires Here And When I Would Come Here For My Oil Change I Would Ask Them To Rotate My Tires. Well always told me that they were too busy and didnt have time. Now they are telling me I need new tires, if they rotated them when I asked we wouldnt have this issue. I mist definitely wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.Ive had other issues too, the only reason Im here today us to demand rotation of my tires, I told him I would wait.

Read this first.On one ocaision they wanted $250 to fix a squeaking belt tensioner. I searched YouTube and found I could get the part for $20 and it took me 15 minutes to replace it.On another ocaision my water pump was squeaking. They told me I needed a new manual transmission! They wanted over $1500 to replace it. I drove that car for more than 50,000 miles after that with no problems and when I sold it the transmission was as good as the day I bought it.They did do a good job replacing the water pump but be careful with them. They will rip you off in a heartbeat!

Called to see about doing a replacement engine for a 2012 hyundai sonata, the guy i spoke with said hed get back to me with a price, he then called back asking for my vin which i gave him, he then said hed get back to me with a price. Never heard back from him, maybe i should check out other shops nearby to see if they can offer me better then no response.

I always go there for smog check, but this is my first time heard about the different price from previous. My car is just a regular car not truck or SUV. However, the staff keep saying the coupon doesn’t suitable for any car, and price change every month, are you serious? Then, I just went to Escondido, I got the exactly the same amount I used to pay. Oh, ya, I just proved my car is regular, normal, CAR (Accord) and price doesn’t change EVERY MONTH. Really thankssssssss.

Minus many stars....I agree with couple of other reviewers. Do yourself a favor and go to a different shop. The guy at the window, joe, was on the phone the whole time when I first arrived to check in and when I picked up my car. He was talking to his friend about personal things not even business. He is rude with no customer service etiquette. When I dropped the car off for oil change, i specifically underlined the words rotate tires on the coupon. Before i drove away, i noticed the tires were not rotated. When I asked him, he rudely asked if I had asked for it. Bring it back tomorrow and I will do it he said. I had left my car there for 5 hours and I was not about to go back and spend more time there. Besides, I dont trust this guy. I will ask for my money back.

Not satisfied with how my car got fixed, primary check up on the car identified the proplem but at time of fixing other proplems were fixed for $1300.Took the car back after a month trial because the main proplem still exist and found out that they need $750 more.

Do yourself a favor and go to a different shop. I couldnt pay my registration online because the electronic transmission to DMV didnt work. I was told to come back to get a free retest to fix this problem. After taking a half day from work to get this done, I was told by the older man in the front desk that they couldnt do anything and I have to go to DMV to get this fix. He didnt even considered the retest at all which is the reason I came back. For someone who works 7 days a week and often at sea, this is very inconvenient thats the reason why Im trying to do my transaction online. Now I will have to find another car and most likely pay late payment. I would rate this repair shop even lower if I could.

These guys are running a snake oil business, they drained my cars battery and started blaming it on codes for the engine light that they themselves forgot to reset after they serviced my car. Dont come here.
