I took my green Superbeetle down to Paradise to fix my fuel gauge, replace the fuel lines, and handle some minor engine work. My beetle now purrs like a kitten. The engine idles so smoothly. Whatever special touches they did to my engine has been amazing. Having old pros work on my car is worth any price.

As my wife’s older VW van started needing work, more and more owners told me about how good these guys are. It took a while to get everything fixed and cost a few bucks, but it’s worth it. Thanks Scott and Hector, really appreciate that you made it so we enjoy driving that van again.

Paradise is by far the best and the most knowledgeable repair shop for Volkswagens especially combees and eurovans. Paradise far exceeds even the dealerships, their experience shows. All I can say is WOW! This place is awesome, Scott the owner gave me a tour of the shop and all they do there. I was amazed at the knowledge and know how this place has. I never knew all you could do with a simple air-cooled VW engine. Scott and his crew fine tuned my dual carb setup on my new Manx buggy. I was never pressured into buying or doing anything I didnt need. Very honest group of people here and I will be back for future repairs and tune-ups.

They were fast, efficient and prices were very reasonable. They informed me about a repair that would be expensive but it didnt need to be done right away. I put a deposit down for a vehicle inspection. Although I did not end up purchasing the vehicle the owner promptly returned my deposit. He had good communication throughout. Hard to find dealers like this. Although I did not end up purchasing a car I would have no hesitation to do so in the future.

Let me start by saying this is the first time I’ve taken to ever leave a review. But I felt it was necessary for this business. I’m a new owner of a 67 Manx with little to no experience on VW motors. I brought my Manx to Paradise motorsports for troubleshooting service and repair. Of course I hoped for just a place that can fix it for a fair price, but I got much much more than that. I was first met by the owner who is a very nice man with so many years of knowledge. He was so helpful in answering my questions and we had a great conversation. My Manx was fixed within a couple hours and when I came to pick it up They explain to me exactly what was wrong, how it happened, and how to prevent it. And their fee was more than reasonable. I walked away Reassured that there are still businesses out there that operate with honesty and integrity. Paradise motorsports actually has made me more excited about my new project. I now know when something goes wrong, or I break something. There is a business out there that that will take care of me with honesty and integrity and extremely fair pricing. I look forward to building a relationship with Paradise motorsports.

Scott and his repair team did an amazing job on my 73 VW convertible. The car sat for 7 years with a new rebuild engine installed. Scott was able to quickly diagnose issues with the install and now has the car running like it did 40+ years ago! No nickel and diming here! Just great repairs of what actual needs done.

I brought my Vanagon for a clutch change.upon pickup the engine idled erratically. Upon inquiring about it (it purred like a kitten before I left in their shop), I was told that is was normal and it will settle down. Then the van started dying intermittently while driving. I could smell gas. After 10-20 minutes it could restart and drive again. After googling and throwing myself on the ground multiple times, I found the problem. It took me a MONTH to find it. These bastards disconnected a connector that went to my ECU computer, so my van was running rich, eventually flooded and died. There is NO WAY this connector, with lock tabs, disconnected by itself. As soon I reconnected, my van ran and STILL running/idling great. These guys should go out of business!

Want to best the best? Then you need the Laufers. Their services have long since surpassed only Volkswagens, but they can still go faster with a flat 4 than anyone else. Its not a 5 star rating because I like them, its a 5 star rating because they earn it. Very knowledgeable, friendly service, easy going atmosphere. You wont regret trusting them with whatever your pursuit is.

A lot of VW parts in one place, with a staff who is well-versed in their application. The back shop does absolutely amazing engine and fabrication work.

This is where I would go when I owned my 70 VW beetle. One time I couldnt shift my bug cuz the stick shift was really loose and sloppy. I didnt have an appointment with them but rather I had a Dr.s appointment I was going to. They took me in immediately and fixed my shifting problem lickity split! It was only 90 bucks and I actually made it to my Drs office in time!They have always been very helpful and they would explain things very clearly when I had many questions! Patience too, cuz I had tons of questions!I highly recommend this business if you have a classic VW! It would still be my go-to place if I still owned my bug but I gifted it to my son & he lives out of state.

I was disappointed by the service I got Paradise Motorsports. I had a VW engine for a 71 Westy I am restoring rebuilt at a cost of about $2500. Several months later when I started to install it, I noticed that one of the mounting bosses on the rear of the case was broken, and the other was cracked. This was no doubt the result of broken fittings on the mustache bar, and they were certainly in that condition when I took it in for the rebuild. My aggravation is that the bosses should have been fixed at the time of the rebuild. Instead, I had to make 2 round trips to San Marcos from Coronado - one to deliver, and one to pick up (over three weeks later) for a total of over 4.5 hours of my time and roughly 8 gallons of gas (really!), and, of course, this has to be done on weekdays. I expressed my displeasure when I was finally able to pick the engine up. Honestly, I and would have been happy with some sort of conciliatory gesture, but the attitude was very cavalier. Hope the rebuild works.
