Big 5 is a chain store and our location is a medium to small one. Competitive prices on the selections of goods they have reasonable service and a firearm Department are the highlights. Free parking and its located in Marigold Center off Broad Street

Big 5 is great! Get on their mailing list to get special coupons. They have lots of discounts and very nice products. They also carry firearms and ammo. The handguns are only .22 but the rifle selection is nice. They also get odd old rifles too. You can pick up a vintage collectorss piece for a great bargain sometimes there. The people working there are also very happy to help and fairly knowledgeable. The shoe section is pretty good as well with sales on shoes that are amazing.

What a great little sports store. Not large or imposing but just about right. Prices are possibly slightly higher than a Walmart but hey support a better company for its employees and come here instead

I was at the store in San Luis Obispo, California today 02/23/2017 1:29 PM to take advantage of the local sales add, while in the store my girlfriend and I noticed a clearance sale rack with tennis shoes, the sing read as follow; Take an extra 20% off all previously marked down orange and beige tag clearance shoes in effect there were two tags in the shoe boxes one beige and the other orange, according to their store add I was supposed to get an extra 20% off, well we didnt, I spoke to two different clerks and no one honor their store add arguing that they werent going to lower the price anymore that the shoes were already discounted and it was a great price for Nike shoes We will change the color of the stickers he already talked to me the cashier told me referring to his coworker. Its not about the money it was about their false advertising! It upset me very much I wanted three pairs and my girlfriend one for her son (she didnt care) I ending leaving my three pairs she took her sons. I have the shoe box with the tags, the cashier recipe and a picture of the sing to prove is all true.Very disappointed with the two clerks, they should of honor their sign give me the 20% discount then change the color of the stickers.

Lousy supply of salt water fishing gear. People are very young and they dont know much about their products .I had to tell the young man working in the sporting goods department the difference between a bass rod and a trout rod. When I asked him if they had any deep diving crank baits, he said he had never heard of them!! How many people are going to go back to a store after having to tell the help what they have, and what the product is used for? It would be like going to a doctor with something wrong and he looks at you and asks you well what do you want me to do!!!

Great selection of athletic shoes. A lot of last years styles and colors at great prices.

They carry next to 0 in terms of saltwater fishing gear. Even stopped carrying frozen bait. No adequate octopus hooks 5/0 or bigger, no swim baits, nothing for rock fishing at all. Pretty disappointing, youd think that theyd realize rock fishing is really the only good fishing in our area and theyd stock up on that kind of gear.

Like most Big 5 stores, their selection is good and their prices are low. The gear they carry is not REI quality, but that is not why you would go to Big 5. The staff is friendly and the store is clean. They make an effort to appreciate the customer.

Finally found what I was looking for. No help from a employee. After looking for 20 mins. No assistance or questions answered. Then had to walk to registers to ask if the price match since their price was $20 more than Walmart.
