I returned a book and they said it was in poor condition with water damage? And made me pay for it and when I said I wanted the book back they acted surprised like they were just going to get to keep it AND have my money. Very disappointed and won’t be ordering from them again.

This bookstore downright lied to me after purchasing a book for fall semester. Ordered the book June 15th. Followed up July 1st because my order was listed as On Hold and was told that everything was on track, but that they would not start shipping until we get closer to the fall semester. I then called August 1, 2019. My call was eventually passed on to a manager who insisted that the instructor told the bookstore that the book was not required for the first week of school. When I asked my instructor to be absolutely sure, she indicated it was untrue.These people will downright lie, leaving you unprepared for class to cover their own rear ends. Never again.

Cuesta bookstore has gone downhill.It’s now privately owned by Barnes and Noble.I ordered 2 books for classes and was told they’d be in within the end of the week.“We’ll email you when they come in.”No emails. It’s now been over two weeks.I need these textbooks for my courses and I am afraid it will begin to affect my grades.Don’t order your books from the Cuesta Bookstore.I’ve also heard that they have labelled incorrect CRN’s for textbooks, so if you go in to buy a specific book for a class you’ll end up buying the wrong one!Chegg is your best bet, I’m sure they’d be able to ship a book faster than the Cuesta book store.

Even though theyve been taken over by a corporation(B&N), the staff is still friendly and helpful.

Awful no one here seems to know how to help you. The cashier was rude and clueless will not be renting from here ever.

Long lines @ the beginning of the semester and highest prices on textbooks.Great for a scantron, bottle of iced tea, a candy bar.But for textbook purchases, plan ahead - Craigslist, Barnes & Noble & Powells all guarantee better prices.Better yet, save a tree and a couple hundred dollars - rent your books from Barnes and Noble or Chegg, or get a digital copy from Chegg.

They have what you need for school, just really expensive.
