I had a great experience at Star Motors! Took my BMW 335i in because of loss of top end power. They diagnosed the issue quickly (my charge pipe blew) and they ended up completing the replacement by the end of the day. Everything was transparent, they stayed in contact with me throughout the process and didnt do anything without my approval. The price was a little on the high side but its like they say you get what you pay for. The customer service and the timeliness of the work was well worth the money.

Nice people and seem very thorough. They advertise has a lower cost compared to dealer service. I did not find that to be the case. Know your prices before going there.

Kurt gave me a tour of the shop and then coordinated with me to see my car on the lift for my first visit to the shop. Lyft transport to and from my home nearby went just great. Will return to the shop for routine maintenance.

The check engine light came on and the car was barely running. Another center was unable to solve the problem. Star provided a loaner car and dug right in. I was aware of their progress and findings with their digital updates. Then I was able to pay by that system and pick up my great running car after hours. I have typically had my cars serviced at the Mercedes, Audi and Porsche dealerships and this was probably the smoothest experience I’ve had. Thank you Star.

Had a check engine light on & the air conditioning had suddenly stopped working. Called a couple of places but they couldn’t see me for a couple of weeks. Decided to call Star Motors & they were able to get me in right away. They were delightful to work with did a great job. They are now my “ go to” shop for all my car work. By the way, the car is a 1998 Volvo V90 & it’s great to find someone that really knows about the older cars and can keep them in tip top shape.

It’s always a great experience at Star Motors. Their prices are pretty much the same as the dealership (at least in my experience) but the service is much better. They are always polite and not pushy. And they get things done quickly. I recommend Star Motors to everyone.

They were timely, efficient, and friendly. My only issue was with their paperless system. I would have liked to see my charges for parts and labor PRIOR to paying. This issue may have been an anomaly due to their expedient service. This was my first visit and I trusted their reputation from the owners responses to customers on Yelp. Other than that one item, they will have a repeat customer.

I am a discerning European car enthusiast who has owned a lot of high-end cars over the years. I have always had them serviced by the dealership, so when my friend recommended Star Motors, I was a little reluctant to try an independent service center with my prized Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG-S.Much to my surprise, the shop was absolutely beautiful! They had all of the amenities that the dealership has such as complimentary loaner vehicles, shuttle rides, refreshments etc. They also have the same tools in the shop.I am a busy executive, so I really appreciated being able to communicate with them by text and email. I also received their vehicle inspection, complete with photos documenting what was needed as well as what is coming up in the future. Kurt was always upfront and honest and very helpful. We had to leave our car a few days longer than expected because they hadnt gotten to it early on, that did cause some minor setbacks.The hourly rate is a bit higher than others. I really like the online platform for looking at your service estimates and the photos they provide help you to feel secure about the work. They didnt have as much knowledge about after market or custom additions to BMW as much as Id hoped but overall and we do have some minor concerns after the work was done but Im sure they will be glad to take a second look and fix anything they might have not seen. They seemed to be very busy and extremely rushed. I also think they were greater quality than most. For general repairs Id definitely go to them again :)

Wonderful experience working with Star Motors. Car died in my way to work so AAA towed it here and I’m glad they did. Alternator went out on me. Kurt found one for cheaper than I expected and had it installed in one day. They even washed the car and it looked great. Tmheyvalso foxed my sunroof without me asking! Friendly staff and fair pricing. Issue is that they provide free car watching....that is nice of them but should have asked first. They did a not so great job and I had just washed the car two days prior to the service. Also when I picked up my car there was a scratch in my hood. Thank goodness for the 3M clear bra. I pealed it off and the paint was fine. Now I just need to have a new bra installed. So instead of a $150 oil change it is going to cost me $400

They verified that the issue I noticed was not due to an critical or dangerous equipment degradation or fault. But their sharp observation and diagnostic hunch proved right that all I needed was a cleaning of throttle actuator to improve idling. Their magical analysis linked the strange noise at while starting from idle just required cleaning the throttle assembly. Their subsequent road tests and mine confirmed their diagnosis and verified their remedy. I most appreciate their integrity and honesty. Thats why I have been their customer for almost 10 years.

Star Motors is the absolute BEST. Ive used them on two occasions, both of which were spectacular experiences. The service, communication, quality of work, value, and INTEGRITY are unmatched. On the most recent occasion, I brought my 2010 E350 Coupe in for a check engine light. Chris with Star Motors performed a diagnostic, and advised me there was an issue with the gas tank (mind you this is a $1,000+ job), and told me he was working with the local MB dealer to see whether this might be covered by MB through a recall/extended warranty issue. Long story short, Chris took the car to the dealer, had the issue resolved at no cost to me, and charged me only for a diagnostic. I was referred by a fellow MB enthusiast/friend, whod used them several times over the years, and said they were exceptional, emphasizing their service, quality, and honesty. These guys are incredible. My family has purchased/leased 10 new Mercedes over the years, and has never encountered service like this. THANK YOU Star Motors (especially Chris). They also are extremely understanding about giving us options with maintenance. Amazing! The service I received at Star Motors was unlike any other place I have been to. From the moment I arrived to the time I picked up my vehicle, the service was unmatched. Plus they are backed by the Auto Club as an approved repair shop so you know your service will be excellent. Also having the ability to go online and review an itemized listing of all my needed repairs was super convenient. The attached photos of the problem areas helped to put me at ease. I was able to approve everything online right from my cell phone. When my car was ready I was able to pick up the key from a secure lock box. This really helps with social distancing. Star Motors truly is committed to service. We found ourselves in a catastrophic situation when our daughters 2010 BMW X5 engine blew while I was delivering the car from Seattle to San Diego. I was looking for someone that would work with me and installed a used, but warrantied engine in her car. Kurt worked directly with me to help find a used engine and Wyatt the senior mechanic did the installation. This was a complex engine swap out and Wyatt made it look so very easy. Wyatt is second to none when servicing BMWs. I deeply appreciate how you helped us out, including a follow up problem we had with an unrelated exhaust issue. We will drive the 90 minutes to have service performed on the BMW even though there are closer shops.

Well, my experience with Star Motors was nothing short of absolutely AWESOME!! My wife’s 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix is beautiful and is definitely her baby. The face of Star Motors is Mark, and he is a real gem! He is a former technician who is now the first point of contact that you have when you call this auto repair garage. What a great person; friendly, communicative, knowledgeable and honest. He frankly advised me about the potential difficulties with finding replacement parts for my wife’s gracefully aging beauty and kept me apprised every step of the way during the maintenance, even sent photos of the findings so that I never had to initiate a call for an update on the progress. The facility is beautiful and welcoming and from the moment you set foot in the waiting room you have the feeling that you can trust Star Motors. In spite of my wife’s car being an older domestic model, Mark was able to locate all the parts the repairs required and did so very efficiently. The mechanics, like Mark, are expert professionals and great people you can entrust your baby to as well. Star Motors truly came to my rescue ! I was involved in an accident last year and my car was repaired by another garage. The work wasn’t done correctly and my car made an awful freaking noise. Chris took a look at my car and diagnosed the problem immediately. It wasn’t safe for me to drive and I left my car with him. He informed my insurance that my car was never fixed correctly and quickly ordered the part I needed. He got me back on the road in one day and my car doesn’t make the creaking noise anymore. Johnny detailed my car and now it looks brand new, he even got all the hair out left by my dog. I cannot thank these people enough and would recommend them to anyone.

I took the car to Star Motors and saved over $2,500 to get the job done right. Star Motors was so honest about what was needed in repairs and what would be a waste of money. We were traveling from Utah to California for vacation. Just outside of Las Vegas our AC compressor broke. We sweat our way to California and had our compressor replaced by Star Motors while in town. Within a year, the compressor went out they replaced. Mark was willing, responsive and did everything he could to work with a repair shop in Utah to replace the part. Unfortunately, we couldnt get the part replaced. Winter hit and forgot about the AC. Now a year later on our way to California again, we reached out to Mark when felt the heat going up leaving the snow in Utah and coming to California. I’ve been a loyal customer of Star Motors for years. Recently, they helped me out with the repair of a headlight bracket on my 1991 911. A plastic adjuster had broken. Problem was that the part is no longer available (and I looked everywhere). The guys at Star fabricated the part and installed it into the bracket. They then told me that, in light of my loyalty to the business, there was no charge for the work. Try that at your local authorized Porsche dealer! I’ve trusted my Porsches to Star for jobs big and small and have never been disappointed. They are skilled, knowledgeable and honest - not an easy set of traits to find in any business, much less an auto repair shop. They will continue to be my go to shop for my Porsches.
