Just purchased my second Jetta from Capo VW last week. The sales associate, Steve Skinner, who helped me was knowledgeable and kind. Once i was ready to pull the trigger on my new Jetta he made the application process simple and quick and the finance department treated me with the the same high level of service. My last Jetta I just traded in made it to 223,000 miles, its actually still running fine, just was time to upgrade. If you live in South OC and you like VW’s, cruise by when you’re in the market for a new ride.

I love that I can get a trustworthy diagnostic at this place. They video record everything and show you/explain what something should be vs what it is so that you can decide what services you want to perform, and trust that you are not getting recommended unnecessary services. I would take my car here for at least diagnostic even if I didnt have a Volkswagen.

I didnt buy a car here but this is a story of the customer service department. My Smart Car was low on battery and I needed a place to charge. I went up to the dealership and asked for help. One of the salesmen (I believe his name was Greg) guided me to the charging station, showed me how to use it, and even paid for me! Then then offered for me to stay in the lounge and enjoy some coffee. Even though I didnt buy anything, I had a great experience there. Awesome stuff Capo Volkswagen 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻!

Super bad customer service department, I have brand new 2021 Tiguan and it show the oil level is low, I ask Mr Arlen Mack in service department to add oil and he told me our Managment don’t pay for oil, I should pay for that, I have 3 new VW cars and I have super bad experience with this dealer and special with himI am not recommend this dealer

Ive brought my VW for service twice at Capistrano VW and am impressed with how organized and thorough the team is. I find most useful the video that their mechanic sends with an explanation of issues found and recommendations. Excellent. Theyve been able to finish all the work on my car in the same day for both occasions. It is expensive though. Quality comes at a price.

I had an ID 4 on order but decided to drop by Capistrano VW to check out availability. They fortunately had an ID 4 exactly the color and model I had on order. We took a test drive at 4 pm and by 6 pm we completed the purchase transaction. Unfortunately we could not drive it home since it just came in that afternoon but they had the car ready for pickup the next day by noon. Smooth and excellent purchase experience

The service done with the video from the mechanic was good… it was the service advisor. He had a bit of an attitude, like I was putting a stint in his day. I mean I know the pandemic has put some hardships on the workforce so I can take with a grain of salt, however, this place has always been fantastic service, however, this last visit was prob a couple notches down due to the Attitude.

Well I didnt get my car at CAPOVW but if I could have I totally would have had no issues doing so.Between Buddy and Nick I was blown away. My experience was down right amazing. The experience was even better than what I have come to expect from the BMW dealership that I go to.Buddy is super cool and super easy to communicate with. Those extra little special touches that he put in to show you what youre looking for are just awesome. We went from San Diego to Capistrano as they were the only one to have the Tiguan AWD in stock. We decided to finally buy an ID.4 there instead of San Diego as our sales associate, Steve, was very knowledgeable and did extra steps to pick us up at the train station. Our reserved ID.4 arrived sooner than expected and as the Coaster was cancelled, the management offered us to pay Lyft to pick up our great new car.We have been enjoying the process of buying a car at VW San Juan Capistrano. It was smooth, no push. Staff was listening to our needs to find the best match. We felt respected and we were happy to buy this ID.4 from VW San Juan Capistrano.Contrary to many YouTubers videos comments, the ID.4 infosystem is very easy to use and works perfectly. It is fast. The back window opening is a no brainer. First car that can also understand my strong foreign accent!! We were surprised as how high we are sitting in the car. Its really an SUV style.

Wow, I never knew getting a car and dealing with a dealership could possibly be like this! I was a little apprehensive- being a girl & not expertly knowledgable when it comes to car shopping, I had been given the run around a few times in the past and had definitely felt pressured to make a purchase today because it wont last long. Then we went to VW Capistrano and met Niles- who was amazing! He was laid back, didnt pressure us, answered our questions honestly, worked with us to find something realistic and never got annoyed by our multiple test drives. We actually left soon after arriving because we asked for a specific model that they didnt have and decided to move on to the next place. But after we drove down the rode we agreed that he seemed chill and we shouldve at least looked some more and I am SO GLAD we did! We never felt pressured or like we were getting a sales pitch. He was patient, we didnt feel rushed and everyone he introduced us to acted in the same manner. I 100% recommend going to Capistrano VW!

Theres so much good to say about my experience at Capistrano VW. If you dont want to read this long review and are considering a purchase from this dealership, just do it! You wont regret it.Now for my review...I found myself in the market for a car after my 10 year old car was stolen. I was sad and a bit overwhelmed to be facing a car payment when I had not had one for years.After much research, I set a budget, prioritized the options I wanted and ranked my top 5 choices with a VW Tiguan at the top of my list. I started out on a Friday evening, determined to have a car by Monday within my set budget, but quickly learned of the new car shortage and the overinflated cost of pre-owned cars caused by the shortage. By the end of the first day, I decided I would purchase a new car instead of the pre-owned car that I preferred. Yet, this meant that I would have to increase my budget or settle for a downgrade from my previous car.On Sunday, I visited the VW Certified Pre-owned website feeling defeated and frustrated when I came across a good selection of pre-owned low mileage Tiguans at Capo VW, including one in my budget with everything on my list including the unique colored interior I wanted.Being two hours away, I called to confirm the availability of the car and was greeted pleasantly instead of greedily by a lovely man that I call Mr. Chuck. He confirmed the car was available and even took several more calls from me about the car that resulted in plans for me to come in the following day. He sent me a text message and we communicated by text about my appointment but he did not bombard me with questions or pressure as I was experiencing from other dealerships.After driving 2 hours, with my mom and dog in tow, Mr. Chuck greeted me warmly like a familiar family friend (nothing like a car salesman). He promised we would go at my pace and he would show me what I needed. We chatted about my theft and he pointed to the beautiful car he pulled forward waiting for my arrival and it was love at first site. He offered us beverages before taking off and invited my mom and dog to join. They chose to stay back and relax in the cafe like lounge.Mr. Chuck and I took a scenic drive where he showed me the great features of the car and a beautiful ocean view. When we returned, we looked at a few more fairly priced pre-owned models all with less than 20K miles on them and I was ready to purchase. We found my dog being loved on by the staff in the service department and my mom relaxing and waiting.We sat in the cafe and Mr. Chuck brought his computer to me. It all went so smoothly and so fast that I was stunned when Mr. Chuck handed me one of my keys. I approved one deal and without me knowing it Kevin, the finance manager, found a better deal for me. I cannot convey how amazing these people are.We laughed the whole way through and the other customers in thr cafe all spoke extremely highly of the dealership and the staff. I literally had fun buying a car and it didnt include a dance break to Beyonce and a bell ringing for a sale as we experienced at one dealership. No bows on cars, no flashy gimmicks. Just good honest people who wanted to sale me a fairly priced car and deliver on an experience that everyone deserves.Needless to say, I drove off in a car so great and having had such a wonderful experience that I am no longer sad about having my beloved car stolen. They give you a little box with a very special gift in it when you are done, and I got an amazing new car. I am looking forward to making a 2 hour drive for future service appointments because this is my dealership.

Had a great experience with buying my VW ID.4 here. I went to about 4 other car dealerships before deciding to buy thru Capistrano. Other dealerships had issues such as - not knowing their product or giving us incorrect info, adding excessive additional fees on top of MSRP, playing mind games and pretending like theyre giving me a good deal when they completely were not.Capistrano VW gave me NONE of that trouble. I started my purchasing process by texting regularly with Niles. He gave me really up to date info and kept me informed the whole time. On the test drive, he gave me new information bout the car that I had not yet learned. We were able to place a deposit a few days to hold the car, in advance to seeing the car. When we showed up, the whole car buying process took less than 2 hrs. I am very happy with my purchase.

Bought a 2021 Golf GTI 6-speed from them. Probably the easiest, quickest, and most headache-free transaction Ive ever had at a car dealership. Edward was my sales rep, and since I knew exactly what I wanted he didnt waste my time; quick test drive around the nearby twisties, and on to signing paperwork. Finance didnt try to screw me over with overpriced extended warranties or anything else.Their GAP coverage is a bit pricey, but unless you put down a bunch of money its highly advisable that you get it. And with their 0%/60 mo financing, it was still cheaper than using my own bank with their cheaper GAP coverage.Only other thing that bugged me a little bit is that their vehicles are all equipped with an anti-theft GPS that obviously wont be removed and is also a bit pricey. But in the context of all the other crazy marked-up dealer adds that Ive seen elsewhere, its not so bad. And its a little extra piece of mind.

Had the 80,000 mile service on my vw eurovan camper. Did a very thorough job. They discovered a stripped bolt on the oil pan drain that had been sealed with silicon caulk. The drilled out the hole, tapped it and installed larger bolt. They did this with no extra maintenance charge. They are also very friendly and have an excellent facility to visit.

NOT SO with Capistrano VW. The whole experience was amazing 👏 I ordered the new ID4 and was constantly informed by Niles of what phase the vehicle was at and when it was delivered to the dealership. I cant list enough good things about Niles Lopshire . He is absolutely awesome 👌 and totally goes way out of his way for you. Not just until he sells you a vehicle but even after. This is the 2nd vehicle I’ve purchased from Capo VW and the experience never fails to impress. Chuck was very responsive in setting up an initial appointment and offered multiple test drive opportunities. I notified Chuck a few weeks later that I was ready to start the paperwork on a specific vehicle in their fleet. I sent him a text early Saturday morning with the stock # of the vehicle I wanted. He let me know it would be ready 30 minutes after opening. My husband and I got there at 9:30am and we’re out by 11:30am. The finance department was easy to work with and paperwork was quick and easy (I was pre-approved for a loan through Schools First).After my 1st VW was on its last leg at 193,000 miles, I knew my next car would also be a VW and I couldn’t be happier!

I had such a wonderful experience buying my car here! Id been in the market for a Jetta GLI for months and done my fair share of research. I went to two VW dealerships in the LA area and left both unsatisfied. Late Tuesday night, I decided to email Capistrano Volkswagen, even though its 50 miles away, and see about availability and price. J.J. emailed me first thing in the AM, and even sent a video of the car I was interested in. We emailed back and forth, talked on the phone, and then I decided I was getting a new car! It was so easy and my time was never wasted. J.J. was very upfront, honest, and pleasant to talk to, which I appreciated. J.J. even picked me up from the train station! Everyone was so nice and genuine! I dealt with A.J. on my paperwork and he was easy as can be. Including my test drive, I was there less than 2-hours. From the moment pulling in to the driveway and the porters directing me started the 5?? Service!Met with Arlen (who would be my service consultant) to Cory Goodman (Service Manager) who both greeted my wife & I.Listened to my concern (as I was on a road trip) assured me they would do their best to get a quick Diagnosis (and by a Senior Master Tech too!) and have a seat in the great waiting area and I’d hear back shortly.Shortly was FAST, as I received a really cool video from the tech showing additional items he felt I should be aware of as well as completely addressing my original concern. Stated the information would be given to the service consultant who would give me the expense & time breakdown for the work shortly (again- light speed coordination here).The parts needed would be there later that day and since they knew I was on a road trip to L.A., a rental car (beautiful too) was offered and arraignments were made for me to leave a credit card with them and all would be taken care of before coming back. I came back Sunday (service was closed) but they had my car ready - washed - and the keys were with the sales manager Steve Smith who was already aware.So impressed with the seamless coordination between every department and every level of staff! I received registration renewal on a car I traded in when I purchased a new vehicle from them. Not thrilled that they didnt file the Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability for the car I traded in and was shocked to learn that this is something I was supposed to do, not the dealer who took ownership of the car? Also, I just got a parking ticket in the mail for the old car that I havent owned for 9 months.. If the finance department is going to lowball me on the trade in price of my car, at least take ownership of the vehicle once I agree to it.. Buddy is the only reason you got 2 stars, hes great!

Unequivocally and without a doubt the most expensive Vw service department in the country. Oil changes full/regular, wheel alignments, filter replacements are all easily $35-$45 dollars each overpriced compared to what’s around. I was quoted $1500 for labor for a water pump and thermostat replacement. Mind you I already have the parts. $1,500 For just LABOR! In fairness, this is extensive work that the book calls for 5 hours to complete, so it is a service that requires money. But I don’t understand how $150 hour for labor for 5 hours makes $1,500. I had this same service completed here in town for $400. I would never recommend coming here under any circumstances unless you’re getting warranty work covered from VW which even then I’m confident they would try to skimp you.

I’d like to share my experience with Capistrano Volkswagen. Overall the service was extraordinary! I called and scheduled an appointment for my vehicle oil change . This was my first time here . Arriving to the location I noticed the great service and the precautions being taken due to this pandemic. I was greeted right away by Fred Evans my service advisor. He put in my work order and was able to explain to me the service my vehicle required. All my questions where answered by Fred . I went ahead and waited for the service . Setting up the appointment was easy and this is coming from someone that hates talking on the phone. I was informed of all the work that will be done on my car and the cost was upfront. This gave me a chance to shop around, but Capistrano was the best deal for what I was looking for. I purchased my car here and had all service on my vehicle done here as well. Best customer service I have ever experienced, I always leave happy and feel safe when driving my car. Thank you so much for going the extra mile every time!

I took my 2014 Jetta TDI Diesel in. It was my first experience with Capistrano Volkswagon. I met Fred Evans the Service Advisor. On a scale of 1 to 10 - he is an 11. Very professional. I was really impressed with the fact that they sent me a video of what was wrong with my car. Very cool ! They did the Catalytic repair under warranty, and found out my coolant fluid was like sludge and needed to be flushed. As well my alignment was out of balance. Really impressed and i will do all my maintainence at Capistrano. I am interested in the new upcoming Volkswagon Bus and am speaking to one of their salespeople Steve Skinner. I recommend Capistrano Volkswagon !

I had an experience that was less than favorable and I left an extensive review about it. After Cory Goodman, Service Director at Capo VW reached out on a few occasions, I have come back to edit the review. Theyve gone above and beyond to try to win me back, which is enough to win some starts back on this review. Though I still disagree with the price I was quoted to repair two items, Capo VW cant control what parts cost when they order them and labor is labor.

Service department is knowledgeable, completes work promptly, and provides excellent customer service. However, as with most dealerships, it is my experience that they egregiously overcharge for parts and labor for rather simple services. For example, I was quoted over $150 for a plastic bottle which houses overflow coolant (this is for the part only - replacement labor was just under $200). That day I purchased the exact same OEM replacement part online for $16 with the intention of doing the work myself. That is an upcharge of about 1000% for buying the part from the dealership, plus installation. I dont mind paying fair labor rates, but please dont yank my chain with the part costs.If convenience rather than cost is your biggest concern, this is a great place to service your VW.

Ive been a customer of Capistrano Volkswagen for approximately ten years. Ive purchased three cars here. I recommend Capo VW often. Customers are treated like family and I have to assume employees are as well. Many of the faces havent changed during the past ten years. Thats not typical in the industry and to me is a fantastic sign. The service department is top notch. The customer lounge is comfortable and the WiFi is fast and reliable. Ive been able to easily work while waiting for my service to complete. Two thumbs up from me.

Sales department doesnt like to make sales and receptionists is rude and will give you attitude over the phone and will continually hang up the phone so you have to call multiple times to get any sort of help. Always have missing parts from service and says there is nothing they can do to accommodate you

My husband and I went in to volkswagen at the end of may because I saw the deals they were running for Tiguans and that was my dream car. When we got there, we were introduced to Chuck. He was fantastic! He showed us the basic model of the car, and as we told him what features we wanted, he helped us pick out the SE model. He was so patient with all our requests, and let us test drive one to make sure we loved it before buying. He walked us through multiple down payment options, and we worked out the best one for us. Im so happy with our purchase and so thankful we had Chuck. He didnt try to upsell us, or force us to spend more than we could afford, but he also made sure we had all the features we requested. I will definitely be coming back if I have any questions or concerns. Its been the best month driving my new car around :)

It was fine, not loaner car, so had to rent a car at Enterprise. But the dealer was helpful and did everything exactly as they should have done. Car was ready and washed when they said it would be done and the price was exactly what the estimate said it would be... no compaints.

I have a 2018 Tiguan with a known production defect where the B-Pillars tick and rattle as you drive along. Volkswagen has a technical service bulletin to quiet it down now, so I took it in to have it done.The dealer caused some problems with my interior during the service, and I had to escalate to the service manager and service director in order to get it fixed.They gave me a loaner, but overall it took four trips to the dealer and about 7 days in the shop to get everything taken care of.They dropped the ball on quality control.
